      Thanks, but I thought you changed...you are still annoying. I say your videos 2 -3 years ago when you started, watched one, and then ran away after.
      I feel like a 12 year old with ADHD when I watch many of your videos instead of an adult. Is this something you turn on and off. I watched a few from a year ago and they were not as bad.
      Your information is okay, its just that you sounds like you are going all out for the 15 year old age group...instead of working people or working professionals.
      No they are wrong. The hyper high energy that they tell people to put on is cringe. Yes positive and up beat is good , hyperactive adhd is bad.

    I studied all of these (amazing) tips yet I did HORRIBLY in an interview today. I was extremely nervous and the interviewer started asking me random behavioural questions :'( This is your reminder NOT to be too hard on yourself if: you study, practice and still have a not-so-great interview. Life will place you where you will grow the most. Trust in your process and keep pushing through!!!
    Good luck to all and don't forget to study behavioural questions too lol.

    Coming back to say I was offered a position in the role I thought I had no chance of getting! THIS IS THE VIDEO TO USE AS A GUIDING LIGHT! To those who are about to do an interview, this is the best place to interview prep. Master these common interview questions and then make sure you have at least 10 stories/situations that will go well for behavioral questions. THAT IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO! Madeline, props to you! Thank you for everything!

    Hello Madeline! I wanted to give my thanks to your helpful videos for interviewing. I have been looking for work for 6 months and I decided to go a different route than the normal for me. I watched, studied, and applied your interview formulas then studied for days before my interview. I was offered the JOB OF MY PRAYERS yesterday! I appreciate all you do for those of us who are finding it difficult to find work in this day in age.

    One thing I don’t like about interviews is their questions not being what they actually WANT to know. “”Tell us about yourself” rather than “tell us about your relevant experience”. The industry needs to update their questions 😫

      @rukam3 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well said!! Thanks!

    • @OverlordZeroULTIMA
      @OverlordZeroULTIMA 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed. With this question, I basically use "I'm a creative, self taught artist who enjoys creating characters and stories". That's not gonna be relevant to being a cashier, for example...What would I say otherwise? "Idk, I'm lacking in job experience?". I guess I could give personality traits that are relevant though?
      Like "I'm loyal and take responsibility for my actions" are relevant to pretty much every job position, but idk...How does that really answer "tell me about yourself"?
      I also have like...ZERO job experience so I can only really apply for things like merchandiser or something creative - though the latter is hard to find in my location, and also may turn my fondness for drawing into a total nightmare. If I make commissions, they're not gonna be full rendered pieces - but I also don't want that as my primary job. I've heard people who used to enjoy drawing now hate it because comms made it a chore. :(

    I stumbled on your channel by accident. I'm not even looking for a job. I was looking for recruiting videos. But this is content I feel 90% of the candidates I talk to need. We hire entry-level so the focus is definitely more culture-focused, but the number of people that get stumped at "tell me about yourself" makes me sad. YOU HAVE WORKED YOUR BUTT OF. GAS YOURSELF UP. Recruiters want the go getters, the people who know what they want and are willing to put their back into getting it. TELL US HOW AWESOME YOU ARE AND WHY THAT'S YOU. We are supposed to act calm and cool, but my notes yall? I am GUSHING about you.

    • @clean_rene
      @clean_rene 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      because it takes too long to put your back into every application. and the responses take a lot of thinking and mental clarity. IT'S TOO MUCH! I do agree you have to be completely dead set on a job in order to put the necessary effort in to GET that job this day in time, but most people just dont have the energy for that. AND the fact that you have to put your heart, body, mind and soul into something just to be rejected again and again. it makes you not want to try very hard on other apps. But I understand your view too. just sell yourself for crying out loud! But selling yourself takes an expertise in itself. interviewing is a whole nother class on top of all the work you already did to be market ready. 🥵

      I have some questions:
      1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
      2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
      3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
      4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
      *Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*

    @Self Made Millennial Out of all of the questions listed in this compilation video, I believe my *least favorite* is, "What are your salary expectations?" Even though I have built a relationship with someone at a financial institution who was willing to submit my polished cover letter & resume, I *still* have to submit an online job application 😑 I'm a bit nervous to write "Flexible" in the application but I have several factors working in my favor: This job has gone unfilled for 2+ months since it is a Compliance IT position in a semi-rural area; I have a business degree and some Compliance IT experience, and I have several IT certifications. Wish me success to land the job!

    1) love this and it will literally help so much I think this is VERY GOOD professional advice to give a framework to navigate the stressful yet exciting job process 2) ummm why does it feel like trying to land a job and justify basic right to work and earn money to live and be a human that makes mistakes is like... living through the divergent choosing ceremony meets the hunger games or something ? Quite dystopian.

    Thanks for the great information! I just discovered your channel and you've got a new subscriber.
    The question I've hated most is, "Do you have any questions for me?" I always felt like they want something from me and I'm not sure what, but now since listening to this video I feel like I understand why they're asking that, and will be looking at it as an opportunity to allow them to tell me where I may be able to give them more information they might need to see me as the best fit and close out the interview strong.

    Just attended an interview using these points as the foundation for my answers.
    I hope they work! Wish me luck!
    ===============
    Update:
    I didn't get the job. It most likely stemmed from my lack of experience in the IT security field, which seems to be a common theme for many.
    Doesn't help the ongoing narrative that skills and experience are all that matter, enthusiasm and the like be damned.
    At the end of the day, it's all a numbers game. If you're not projected to turn the company a profit for your efforts, then they don't want anything to do with you.
    The cold, hard truth. Seems like the only answer now is to get those skills, and beat out the competition.

    This is actually why I quit looking or applying for computer programming jobs. Programming was being used against me, and boy is it a put off against hiring anyone in IT - we do not cater kindly at all to our own passion being turned against us.
    Instead, I got a job demolishing a house, and then working in the garden section in Lowes. It doesn't matter how many things I've designed, built, or coded in Python, I don't want to work for any organization that puts me through the wringer and critiques me on paper that way. I don't even want to do Google interviews anymore.
    The solution to all of this is to boycott it. Throw away your resume. Refuse to apply. Refuse to go to a job interview. My last five jobs, I got with no interview at all. Then had a problem, I said I could do it or fix it, and that was it, go to work and go to town. Word gets around you're competent, and someone else asks if you can do the same for them, or something else.
    So. Boycott HR and Interviews and throw away your resume. I just got sick of being terrified out of my mind and prepping for a phone call or interview.

    Been interviewing for months and EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYER wants salary expectations. “We will not move forward with the interview process without a number.” At this point I give a range and say that compensation is more than just salary and I am flexible depending on all factors.

    • @softdev1
      @softdev1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Half of the applications require it. Some want an exact number and some have a range drop down.

    Quick question, I sometimes have difficulty switching between the star method and simply answering the question without the star method. Should I be using the star method on every single question such as the greatest weaknesses and strength question? I find it hard to apply to this one.

    Your last note said not to apply online. Then how can I apply for a job if I'm directly told to do so? If I'm turned away from reception. If employers don't give an address, if their phone number uses screening methods, a lot of the companies i apply for are privet entities that have no visibility online. How are you supposed to get a job if you don't know anyone in the industry?
