Hey just wanted to share my personal story! I applied for a job in July this year and after reading glassdoor interview reviews I found your name. Per the review I searched you on this platform and started watching all of your videos! Not only are you engaging but you explained things in a way that made interviewing easy! Which obviously is not a small feat! After 2 months of interviewing I did secure an offer and I started this week. This is not only a position in a completely new industry than I have ever worked, but it is also my first salaried job! Something I wasn't sure I would see with no college education. My new role already feels like a great fit after a week! AND I have been getting questions/advice requests from friends, and acquaintances, who have applied with this company and didn't get an offer. Once I had accepted the offer I realized that this company is not an easy interviewing process and its very selective about who is offered any position. My confidence is 100% so through the roof and I am realizing that I am capable of more than I ever thought possible. Thank you for everything! I have no plans to continue job searching, but will still be watching because you make such an intimidating process interesting!!!

How about this response if I resigned suddenly: "I was brought onboard with ABC company for the role of Software Engineer II, and my tasks include adding new features, and fixing bugs, but I was also given the additional task of testing the changes using Specflow and Unit Testing, which are required before pushing the changes into the project before deployment. However, I couldn't have the changes be approved, because I needed to show proof to the approvers that my changes pass the test case in unit testing and Specflow, and that takes a majority of my day, which makes me less productive in my work, and I felt that it's time for me to go look for something else, so I resigned from ABC company, and now I'm looking for a new opportunity where I can be more productive in finishing my tasks, and I do believe that XYZ may be the best place to work at."
So I'm struggling a lot with this question. The current employer I am seeking to start working was actually a doctor of mine. He asked me several times during my routine visits about my job because he was my chiropractor. I occasionally let loose about long hour days and not really getting breaks (yes, while illegal I almost preferred skipping breaks because it was horrible catching back up after being gone an hour. It was still hard on the body). The receptionist and I became friendly and I have discussed with her a health issue I was having that was stress related due to work. So in a way, they know why I chose to leave, but at the same time I still want to make a good impression and not come across as a whiny quitter.
1:48 it's not complicated at all. If you don't get a raise or promotion within one year you find a job with higher pay. Wanting more money is literally my only motive for getting a new job.
Thank you so much for your valuable advice and I've subscribed after watching multiple your videos! I've been applying them into my recent interviews, and I've gained a lot more confidence using your techniques! For this video, I have a question: in scenario 3, what to do if the interviewer keeps digging the reasons? Such as "what opportunities you've been looking for in your current job that you were limited?" or I also got questions that the interviewers ask for exact amount of marketing budget you were working with which is a lot less than their budget scope? Really would love to know your insights! And do you also have videos on interview tips with skip/department head series? Thank you!!!

I left my job because I was seeking new opportunities and learn new skills. OK, I've been applying for jobs where I already have the necessary skills..I won't be learning anything new but hopefully improving existing skills. How to put that. Please, could you tell me how and where do you learn the vocabulary to use in job interviews. I've read many books but can't retain this way of talking. English is not my first language.
you found what you are good at and you want to hone in or drill into that existing skill set and you would love to use your ability to improve their whatever it is.
i mean how do you explain you left a job because of personal situations? i had a job i really liked, but was unfortunately driving way too long of a commute and being paid v low compared to most people in my industry. during this time, i had many losses in my family and out of the blue received an offer from a company i worked at in the past offering me more money, better work/life balance, and better pay. it took me a long time but i decided to do what was best for my mental health. now, i'm trying to get back out there and i have to jump through hoops to act like i'm a positivity robot and not human. i don't understand how i'm supposed to explain these things...
Hi I left my last job due to my husband got a job in other city. I had to move with my family to support them. This is the real reason I left my job. If I tell this reason is it make any Negative impact on me. How I can tell them about I relocated to support my family?
I did not exactly want to resign willingly from some companies, not on amicable terms with the toxic boss - how to explain? Im in S'pore and normally I don't mention, i just say contract ended
I was laid off from my last job due to business financial reasons, they reconstructed their admin team, however there were only 2 people including myself on the admin team and we were both laid off, would that consider 100% of the team?
I always have trouble as a military spouse. Usually I left my last job due to us moving to another base...it is hard though because that raises a red flag when looking for a new job because they instantly know I won't be around long...I never know if I should mention it or just be very crafty on why I left and moved to this new state.
If they ask about if you are interviewing at other companies what should you say? I am starting to learn honesty is not the best policy... I told them I only had 11 different companies scheduled that week. I am am mid level sales rep. A salesman's job is to sell themself to as many people as possible as fast as possible! Their response to me looked like they just got hit by a car? I'm kinda confused, did they think I was married to them the second I saw a job posting??? Should I say I only applied to them??? That would literally be the opposite of what a trained salesperson is trained to do... It's Monday and got 5 more interviews scheduled for this week, but I anticipate getting a few more new ones, and kinda want to apply to maybe 20 more in case something doesn't feel right in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. round interviews...
How does that work for a job you were at for 15yrs within a global company. What is the best way to say you left that company for a smaller company. My company has an algorithm system that decides who to reject for a job and who to send their resume to for the hiring manager. My dept is a deadend and hasn't hired anyone knew in 7 years. I've must have applied to 300 jobs and only gotten 5 interviews. They routinely have hiring freezes for a year at a time every couple of years. What's the best way to explain to a small company when they ask why am I leaving such a massive company? Haven't left yet but I'm burnt out and ready for a positive change.
What to do if you go straight to the final boss? Like instead of the usual two or three recruiter interviews you are supposed to go to, you end up interviewing the boss due to being referred to by someone in the company already? Honestly it felt odd because it was over the phone they had no resume on me and it was basically all word play.
What I can answer if I was hire for a contract to hire and now my contract is being extended because the company is down but I decide that I would prefer continuing my search
What if the clash was on a technical detail like a highly incompetent supervisor fired me because I didn't want to do his 100 year method and stuck with my 1 day method (time complexity issue)
Ok so, I was terminated, but rehireable. I have applied back to the same company 7 diff times and continue getting generic rejection emails claiming they are continuing with other candidates that more closely match qualification requirements. I have worked for them for over 5 yrs and had 1 incident occur but it was a system issue that affected me. I have reached out to the HR individual by email with no results. Any advice?
Could you please make a video about, 'Do you have any other job offers? If yes, why are you still giving other interviews?' It would be really helpful.
“I’m looking for the best overall package and fit. I also want to make sure I weigh all options before committing. So in short, I’m still open to other opportunities.” I’m no Madeline,👐🏾 but that just came to mind. Lol
Thank you Madeline (my mom's name) for your valuable tips, examples, ect. My extremely huge gap in my resume after a ~25 years career in the dental field I left the last job of 7 yrs because my boss was a pervert. One time he told me to stand up...to tell me I did a good job, then he spanked my bum in front of everyone. Another time he refused to give me a new cutting disc to cut porcelain, so then I cut my thumb really bad! I chose not to claim L&I and sue him because in some professions the word gets around. I feared that another employee wouldn't hire me because of a law suit. I ended up leaving anyway because I had carpal tunnel syndrome from my years at my career. So I should leave out my issues with my carpal tunnel? When I left I started going to college to change my career, half way through the program my elderly mom was ill and had to move in with me (for 4 years). I was planing on going back to college but then my dad got cancer. Needless to say I couldn't go back because of my responsibilities. Even after my parents passed I still have an even longer gap in my resume...my fault. I REALLY need to get back to work but feel like I need professional help with my huge gap. What should a person do when they have a creepy boss like mine? No HR so no telling what he could say. I have longevity in all my few jobs in life.🌺🍀🍀🍀🍀🌻

Hi - I could really use some advice- I relocated my role could not be remote, that was easy - then I had a role for 7 Months, Shockingly the owner passed away - business closing - I'm uncertain know how to verbalize that - should I leave that off my resume? What do you say in an interview when you are leaving your current position because of health reasons. I can't be on my feet all the time and I'm looking for an office-type position.
One sentence: There was a lack of clear and concise communication that hindered the streamlined completion of tasks for my role. Another example one sentence: The company changed ownership and in their restructuring of this small company, they let go of those who were split department. Both actually are ones that I use cause they happened.

I have a tricky situation now where I am looking for a new opportunity 9 months after starting a job, but I am not happy with my current employer and I am also underpaid. My company is a tech consultancy and we indeed have many different projects within. However, switching projects will not bump up my pay, and I will still have to deal with the culture I am not excited about. Last week I had an interview where the question "Why are you looking for another job" came up, I recognize that I could have had a better answer prepared but I said I am looking for opportunity to grow professionally, which then followed by their question "but your company has many projects, why not just change the project?". And I completely understand where they coming from but I really don't want to stay with my current company due to many things I do not appreciate. I am still not sure how to answer this interview question in the future :(
Well, in that case I would tell them that I am looking for a better cultural fit. If asked to elaborate- expand on your personal values, what is important for you to have in a work environment to feel valued, supported, appreciated. Don't say these things were missing (negative!) but those are important elements for work environment for you to thrive. So, it's just spinning it a little to avoid sounding straight negative (even if it's honest).

I have a phone screening in 4 hours for a job /career change I really want. I'm not one to choke in interviews (but I'm not too arrogant to go into an interview blindly) your videos are informative, concise, to the speak, and your speaking/presentation skills are a 10/10.
How did it go?
@@chelseymelaa thanks. I got the job. got offered a few interviews with other companies too :) took the job that seemed best for me. (management loved/loves me, they gave me a tour of the place before I had to make a decision)
I got asked that question recently and I just said the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s a valid reason because so many people lost their jobs due to the pandemic do that’s very easy to understand. One sentence
I love your “I hit a ceiling” answer. Very well worded and thought out. Totally stealing that and custom tailoring it to my situation
I worked for a company that went out of business. I still had an HR person tell me I must of ruffled some feather. I now won't be an interview if I have to talk with anyone in HR.
I wish I knew all these answers when I interviewed for a job I really wanted, I gave the real answer instead of a more positive one. Lessons!
I just love your energy, your attitude and your brilliant advices! Thank you for your pacience!
been reviewing your videos for the past week. My interview is this friday june 23rd and just wanna say thank you feel very confident .
Even though u stop making the vlog yr videos are the best and most useful. ❤
Brilliant. Would you kindly suggest the best answer for : "Why did you leave your last job (just 2 weeks ago), without a new job lined up?" Thank you.
"I felt like my skill and experiences weren't being pushed to there full potential."

great video! loved it!
could you provide a smart way to answer why you left an extremely toxic workplace...
I mean she was literally anthrax toxic to everybody! she was going around looking for trouble!
thank you!
I have found that your job tips are for corporate jobs. Can you do some videos that are for education jobs? Like teaching, school counseling. Thanks!
After watching just two of your videos had to subscribe to this channel. Thanks a lot I have my interview for an iternship in my college.
You are an amazing human being. Thanks for helping us all❤
Thank you. I appreciate your video.
How about temp jobs? The last 2 jobs I’ve had were temporary assignments so I didn’t have a choice when the assignment ended.
Hi there,
Just wanted to thank you for this amazing chanel. I got a dream job as Customer Success Manager because of your tips and advises … thank you so much
So happy for you!!
How about this response if I resigned suddenly:
"I was brought onboard with ABC company for the role of Software Engineer II, and my tasks include adding new features, and fixing bugs, but I was also
given the additional task of testing the changes using Specflow and Unit Testing, which are required before pushing the changes into the project before deployment.
However, I couldn't have the changes be approved, because I needed to show proof to the approvers that my changes pass the test case in unit testing and Specflow,
and that takes a majority of my day, which makes me less productive in my work, and I felt that it's time for me to go look for something else,
so I resigned from ABC company, and now I'm looking for a new opportunity where I can be more productive in finishing my tasks, and I do believe that XYZ may be the best place to work at."
So how did it go?
1:48 it's not complicated at all.
If you don't get a raise or promotion within one year you find a job with higher pay. Wanting more money is literally my only motive for getting a new job.
'I got let go because my position was eliminated.' 🌻💮🌻💮
You are so motivating, thank you so much!
... I needed this to days ago
I left my previous job because my family and I are migrating to another country for better future of our daughter. So i was not able to continue working in that role due to the transition. I am now a stay-at-home-mum looking for an opportunity to return to workforce. :)
What is the best way to quit a job professionally? I am asking for future reference
Keep it short, I love the advice.
I like your vibe but the main things that candidate should do is be confident and tell that , Company has bene rerstructured so I was looking for the direction I was.
What do you say if you left after a Probation Period of, say, 4 Months?
You energy is amazing!!! 🙌🙌🎉🎉🎉
Doesn’t the term lay off itself already imply someone was let go because of non-performance reasons?
Thanks for these videos. I find myself on the interview pannel side as a new responsibility. These videos are teaching me examples of what a professional like you is looking for and help me know what questions I should be asking.
I love to hear that!
Hi Madeline How do you answer the question about why you left your last job (fired) due to COVID mandates? When you had a medical accommodation?
i would also love to hear an example for this question.

I immediately subscribed to your channel after watching full video. Looking forward for more guidance on career growth. Thanks😊
i mean how do you explain you left a job because of personal situations? i had a job i really liked, but was unfortunately driving way too long of a commute and being paid v low compared to most people in my industry. during this time, i had many losses in my family and out of the blue received an offer from a company i worked at in the past offering me more money, better work/life balance, and better pay. it took me a long time but i decided to do what was best for my mental health. now, i'm trying to get back out there and i have to jump through hoops to act like i'm a positivity robot and not human. i don't understand how i'm supposed to explain these things...

I left my last employer because I wanted to grow within a company that provides sustainable products/services to their customers/clients.
If you take an interview during your two weeks notice, should you mention that you're currently in that role?
Amazing tips
What to do if you go straight to the final boss? Like instead of the usual two or three recruiter interviews you are supposed to go to, you end up interviewing the boss due to being referred to by someone in the company already? Honestly it felt odd because it was over the phone they had no resume on me and it was basically all word play.
How did it go?
I remember I got asked this question once and it was so awkward. She kept asking why I didn't try harder at my previous job at my last job
Hello! What should we answer when we are still at other jib, but interviewing because we want to get the hell out?
Ok so, I was terminated, but rehireable. I have applied back to the same company 7 diff times and continue getting generic rejection emails claiming they are continuing with other candidates that more closely match qualification requirements. I have worked for them for over 5 yrs and had 1 incident occur but it was a system issue that affected me. I have reached out to the HR individual by email with no results. Any advice?
Hey Madeline, is it ok to say " I was laid off due to lack of work in the company" to interviewer as it clearly mentioned in the laid off letter
Could you please make a video about, 'Do you have any other job offers? If yes, why are you still giving other interviews?'
It would be really helpful.
“I’m looking for the best overall package and fit. I also want to make sure I weigh all options before committing. So in short, I’m still open to other opportunities.”
I’m no Madeline,👐🏾 but that just came to mind. Lol
@@louisianagirl7430 Hey
Loved it! Thanks for the reply. 😃
@@VA5UNDHARA no problem!!!!😀
I have longevity in all my few jobs in life.🌺🍀🍀🍀🍀🌻
I have a Question!
During interview when the company asks “why are you looking for a new job?” Is below a decent answer? Would be advise me?
-my company has been effected by covid lasting longer and continuing so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to find a another career and grow professionally.
You are a genius!
Hi - I could really use some advice- I relocated my role could not be remote, that was easy - then I had a role for 7 Months, Shockingly the owner passed away - business closing - I'm uncertain know how to verbalize that - should I leave that off my resume? If so, I will have a 7 Month gap. Any advice would be SO appreciated --
What do you say in an interview when you are leaving your current position because of health reasons. I can't be on my feet all the time and I'm looking for an office-type position.
Hi Julie! Did you get any answer on that?
@@talitamoraes8757 no...
I'm taking the one sentence challenge.
I left my last job due to inconsistent hours that were always subject to change.
3:09 one sentence
The position you are offering pays more than what I am currently making.
One sentence: There was a lack of clear and concise communication that hindered the streamlined completion of tasks for my role.
Another example one sentence: The company changed ownership and in their restructuring of this small company, they let go of those who were split department.
Both actually are ones that I use cause they happened.
And how did it go with those answers?
i have a problem i quit my job jan 22 in order to become a realtor , i want to do real estate part time and im pursuing a claims job how would i be able to best answer this qiestion helppp

Hi! I just want to tell you that I love your videos and your personality. I've learned a lot from you. Also, can we use these same tips when interviewing for an internship? Thank you in advance. 😊
I left my job because I want to make a difference & to gracefully exit the chaos LOL
i left voluntarily from my last job bcs the endless calls from peak season and those crazy irate customer, the whole working process makes me feel like im a machine instad of a human being. Being a BPO agent tortured me mentally , i swear to god i will never go back again. And of course, my only friend at work quit before i did, it just couldn' get any unbearalbe
One sentence!
