I had one years ago and the engineering was too notch compared to the cheapo crap today. Wish i still had one. I still have my pre-1960s .20 sharidan with working thumb safety
Ty for sharing your experience and knowledge of this pistol. I found this very interesting. I will be looking forward to your part 2, if you are reading this tell me how I can find it. Ty again 😊
Thank you for sharing this video with us very very interesting and I am going to get your book I live in Texas and it will be interesting to see how you grew up I also grew up in the same time frame thank you and I will be watching your videos
I got one, proper old school weapon, full working order, I made a red leather holster from saddle leather, I haven't the original box so I use a small plastic tool case cushioned out .... nice to see an up to date video of the 600..........cheers......
Just a real classic gun, I don't think Crosmans air pistols had any real competition back in the day. Sure Sheridan rifles were king, but Crosman pretty much owned the American Air pistol market.
And it's painted, in the proper British fashion. Anyway, this mechanism seems like it would lend itself to the possibility of a full auto conversion, which would be quite cracking!
You can make a 600 full auto by removing a part in the trigger mechanism. It will then empty the gun in one loud bang. You will not get the machine gun sound that would imagine. These are very finicky and tend to operate as intended when all is in good order.
Great video! I can't seem to find any info on the the serial numbers, the one I have is 040088. And is stamped PAT. PENDING I'd like to find out the date of manufacture.
I've got a .22 600 n a rocket box with manual and rod I've had it for quite a few years. Which is great because you'd be lucky to find one for less than £400 nowadays. Mine has been rebuilt because it kept going full auto. It was done by Lawrie Armatruda a great fella and a legend at sorting and tuning these pistols. If you ever get any problems he's amazingly good value and does faultless work, a real craftsman. Look up Lawrie Armatruda Airguns on Google Would love to see more vids on your 600. Thanks for the vid chap. Liked & subbed 🔔
I really enjoy your videos. The ones on the Crosman Mark 1& 2 are great. On the 600, you really should mention that when you slide the cocking hammer back to cock the gun, always push the slide back forward prior to firing. Failure to do this can result in breaking the ring inside the gun that rides the twisted bar that is responsible for making the 600 a semi-automatic. If you ever get access to a Smith & Wesson 78G or 79G, please produce videos similar to your Mark 1&2 videos.
I had one that looked exactly like that but it was a single shot. It was .22 as well but I wasn't impressed. It only shot around 250 fps and that only lasted about 3 shots then after that you could literally catch the pellet before it hit you with your hand and not feel much more than a slight sting. It was so under powered that it couldn't even break a glass bottle. Not even with a fresh co2 powerlet in it. I can't remember what it was called though. It was pretty much the same but in a single shot bolt action version.
I've certainly never seen something like that before. Most c02 pistols I've seen have a rotary magazine of some sort, from the cowboy style revolver to the 1911 looking guns.
That's a very interesting question and one that has been asked recently by the powers that be. Its in some ways has gone under the radar, its probably the only air pistol of its kind to shoot like this.
@@newtownnaughtyboy8742 Could it be because of its age ? I know there has been questions asked about the steyr lp50 being illegal as it's technically a semi auto but it's still for sale
@@busyswizzler Because Brits didn't use their gun rights to secure their gun rights. Therefore gone. Its a tough lesson learned but I hope you get them back.
You were fortunate to obtain a push button 600, I've had a number of these pistols over the years and I've found that to be the best piercing method. I was told that these guns were imported to the UK after CO2 pistols were made legal in the UK, were they really illegal at one point?
I would convert that too live real fire arm ammo. Pellet guns and bb guns are overpriced, they really cant be used for self defense, if a intruder is carrying 380 or 9milameter a person would not be able to put down a intruder with a pellet gun. Sorry you can do better with a knife or bat, even a crossbow but bb and pellet guns are not comparable to a real fire arm when you talk 2 people on showdown like the old wild west. And these times crime is up and people need to arm themselves for defense and 2nd amendment. Gun control does not stop crime, criminals dont use registered guns to commit crimes and on a national level the percentage of guns being stolen from registered owners is very low. Criminals are going to be criminals weather you have gun control or not. Criminals will convert toy guns to shoot ammo, a criminal can take a replica bb gun that looks real be and rob a store and get away with it and government blames guns and the criminal used a bb gun. Maybe the government should stop making bb guns to look so real because there have been children gunned down by cops thinking the kid was carrying the real thing. The government passes laws on ammo, you know how easy it is to make gun powder? Its all about control, money and power. They give a rats ass if someone gets killed, the government does not want the people to turn on them and be armed. They are worried about themselves as politicians. A good percentage of the government have permits to carry a fire arm and the two faced people turn around and treat the public as we are all stupid and not responsible. I dont know about everybody else but i grew up with a pellet gun then in tine i wanted a real gun. BB Guns abd Pellet Guns attract the younger generation to wanting a real gun. So if the government was really doing laws for a moral purpose they would not do what they do. Smoke and mirrors with the government. Trump will be back and straighten this country out and make it great again. Joe Biden is a communist and a weak leader. Rebuke joe biden he is a menace.

Thx Lionel, I didn't know that about the cocking leaver. Shame I have done a part 2, maybe I follow up with a part 3 at some point. Thx

Very interesting review ! I must admit I'd never heard of this pistol, thank you Naughty Boy.

How is this legal in the UK as it's semi auto, is the barrel rifled ?

Why can't we have semi auto it's so annoying

I realize that you asked the question 5 years ago but have not received an answer. So, to answer your question, yes, the barrel is rifled.👍

Hi
The .177 version was, To give it's full name called the model 677 Plinkomatic :)
thanks very much, indeed it is...
I had one of those in 1972, sold it :( . Not powerful but still a gun.
This guy loves the sound of his own voice. Show the gun and let it function with less talking, please.
