Use a thicker piece of leather
Shame you dont use correct fitting screw drivers as your ruining heads of screws.
If you have screws not holding just drop some match sticks down hole and they will hold
Thank you.
I finally bought this kit too, as i would have liked to as a kid. But as things are going right now, i probably can't try it until next summer.
Great Video, but very sorry to disappoint. This is a POST WAR set of Voigtlander. Made immediately post war for the civilian/souvenir market from left over military components. The lack of a serial number, manufacturer 3 letter code (ddx = Voigtlander) & the military designation "DIENSTGLAS" all point to this. The case is also post war, the closing hasps were made in the hundred of thousands with varying date codes stamped into them. Even during the war the hasps had conflicting dates with items they were used on as they were purchased in bulk by the end manufacturers. Still a historically significant set regardless. Having a solid family providence & for the set to be complete with the case/accessories is not common. Thanks for sharing.
I got a job higgens 22 cal.sears and roebuck says nothing about Crossman. Looks to be the same. Gun but guts look different

I was there when he was taking the pictures and video, the 2 girls walking in school uniform is me and my sister 😮
I loved TV Century 21 as a child and when Joe 90 came out I enjoyed that too, but when they merged it totally destroyed TV Century 21. I’m 65 years old now and I still think that nothing compares to TV Century 21 in it’s original format as a newspaper from the future xxxx
Sadly you microwaved it, I was hoping for a crispy crumpet, or pikelet. I would have fried this mixture in a little Ghee or coconut oil. Maybe I try this recipe but fry.
Ty for sharing your experience and knowledge of this pistol. I found this very interesting. I will be looking forward to your part 2, if you are reading this tell me how I can find it. Ty again 😊
I have one, which worked well in the 60s, but currently in my country there is no AM transmitter, so I decided to sell it, because it no longer works.
I have owned several 600 over the years currently I have a nice clean one complete with box and paperwork I shoot it often enough to keep it operating well. It's so tempting to squeeze off 10 rounds as quick as you can but if you take your time and aim it's pretty decent accuracy at 10 yards. I have been owning/collecting Crosmans since 1974 at the age of 13 still some of my favorites along with other American greats like Daisy,Sheridan,Benjamin , S&W etc. Daisy fairly recently acquired all the above except S&W 😮
I have a Mark I and the tail on the hammer spring broke off in the cocking bolt, is there a way to remove it so that I can remove the cocking bolt? Great video
I had one years ago and the engineering was too notch compared to the cheapo crap today. Wish i still had one. I still have my pre-1960s .20 sharidan with working thumb safety
Good video. With respect the lighting could be better
Had this exact issue... So excited with my Hawke Vantage scope on my new spring powered Walther Classus... was very dissapointed that optical dead centre didn't even show in my field of view.. full elevation didn't even have the POI above the black line into the mildots.. The solution? I bought Hawke high mounts and Hawke 25 MOA shims. I couldn't be happier. Honestly just use the proper stuff... my POI at 30yards is at a few clicks from ODC.. problem solved!
This was also a gift from my parents at the age of around 12 years and - like for so many others - set me off on a path of studying physics, mathematics and later computing ... Thanks so much, brings back memories!
Hi, the hiss is a sign that tr2 and tr3 are conducting. Tr1 is the radio frequency transistor and it's job is to amplify the radio signals picked up by the anntena coil, but it also is used to amplify the audio signal detected by Diode D1 and the choke coil thus Tr1 is doing two jobs for the price of one, a very neat trick and that is why Phillips used this radio circuit design its called a reflex radio circuit. Now to test if your Tr1 is working assuming all your connects are good, try the following. Remove the anntena wire that is connected to the base of Tr1 marked b on your project card. Now with your volume set on full touch the Tr1 base terminal with your finger. You should be hearing a loud hum coming through the earphone, which indicates that all 3 transistors are working and amplification of the audio signals is good. Now replace the anntena coil connection back on to the base of Tr1. Now the next test is to see if your Anntena coil is picking up radio frequency signals and amplified through Tr1. Again with your volume set on full, place your cell phone very close or on top of your Anntena coil, your should hear a very loud buzzing generated by the cell phones internal clock frequencies. Your could also try this test with placing a TV type IR remote control and pressing any of the buttons, or just by placing your radio with the antenna vey near or against and electrical output plug to pick up mains wiring hum. If any of the above tests prove successful, then your radio is recieving, detecting and amplifying correctly. If you are not tuning in any radio stations check that your anntena coil wires are all orientated correctly to the circuit board and that there are no broken solder connections on the coil itself, use a multimeter to check all these and other connections if possible. Remember this is 60yer old kit, and many of those spring and clip connections are tarnished. Buff and clean with switch cleaning fluid as requred. Most AM broadcast stations are stronger at night and the use of the outdoor anntena is advised. The tuning capacitor is about 150pf and may have a short between the moving plates check to see that the plates are moving without any shorts accross its entire tuning range. Also remember that the AM transmissions recieved by your coil are directional so its always best to rotate your radio to pick up the strongest signal. Good luck with getting your radio up and running.
Such a fantastic and helpful video.

I started my life in electronics in 1972 when I was 15 years old, using this Philips Electronic Engineer Kit. At the end of 1975 I won a job competition and started working at a Broadcast TV Station. Today I have almost 50 years of experience in the area of electronics and telecommunications with several products that I developed and approved for this purpose. I arrived here on your channel and was amazed at the state of conservation of your Kit. I'm trying to rescue one of these. Congratulations!
I re-sealed mine as the old ones had turned to cheese. Had no problem dismantling it, putting it back together was something else. It was spread out on the kitchen table for a week before I finally got it together, and it worked haha. Be easier doing it again but I expect the new seals to see me out being as I'm 70.
I have the same variant 600 with its sintered steel trigger, button safety and blue-black finish. Mine has the turnback filling cap. These are an interesting design which sometimes can be very temperamental. Thanks for another great video. Mine works faultlessly with Crosman Ultra Magnum.
did you ever find the website for the valve stem replacement, im in desperate need
Hello Sir, Thank you for filming and commentating on a fantastic review of dismantling and re- assembling your Diana Model 27 spring piston air rifle. What a great, interesting view. I wondered if you could help me, please? My late, dearly loved father left me two Diana Original Model 35 air rifles in .177 and .22 calibres. They were dry inside, unloved and in need of much tlc. My father though never complained, suffered ill health and wouldn't have left those air rifles like that through choice. He cared too much. I was a 1970's child who was seen and not heard. My father kept me away from air rifles. They were his land and not to be trespassed upon. In those days, if your parents told you not do something, you didnt do it. End of! Not like these daysI ld have loved air rifles in my life. Ihave renovated both air rifles now. I installed both with new modern piston/breech seals sourced from Australia.I made both of them top hats which they didn't originaly have and sleeved the piston insides and spring guides. I used the best paste's, greases, I could. I'm so happy with how they turned out. The horrible buzz/twang has gone now, leaving more of a zip noise and Id say less recoil. I get the impression this Diana model was underpowered and not improved, so left behind by it competitors. Would that be true? I don't think these air rifles would be full power, though I'm super pleased with how my journey has turned out and their overall function has vastly improved. I would love to know anything you could tell me and hope I'm not being a nuisance. Thank you, Ian.
Great, clear instruction. I purchased MKI pistol in the late 70's ,put it away and never touched it again. I did follow your directions and it was easy. I did rebuild piercing plug by removing inner threaded sleeve and replacing o ring. Three weeks after piercing co2 full power shooting. Thanks again. Nick
whats the thread size on the lathe please
Thanks for putting this up. You've helped me take mine apart, clean, replace seals, lube, and put her back together.
Hi Can I ask where you got your replacement parts?
Lol, I had to have a machinist make me an adapter because I couldn’t match the thread size. $20. Not too bad.
Is there a link to the seal kits
Next question is, do you ever answer anybody? Does anybody ever answer anybody?
Where can I find and buy a crosman mark ll co2 cap that punches the gas cylinder
Ive tried to unscrew the trigger block from the main body on my pre war Mod 27 but it doesnt want to budge . Any suggestions on how to get it apart ? Thanks
Delrin valve seal …. I replaced mine with a nylon o-ring which I made on the lathe. This required removing the brass valve head from the stem. These parts are pressed together and required a small hydraulic press to get them apart. And even then I had to simultaneously apply a bit of heat to the brass with a propane torch. Note that the stem only presses out in one direction … away from the seal. This is due to a small flaring taper in the stem just in from of the seal …. it is this taper which holds the seal in place. The seal OD did not need to be a precision fit but the ID did. A finger-tight press fit between the stem and seal was sufficient. To reassemble, the seal was placed into the brass and the stem carefully pressed in with the hydraulic press until the flared part of the stem just met the seal. And that’s it. Some new valves don’t have brass at all, it has been replaced with some sort of plastic (Teflon?) which also serves as the seal. This is much easier to make. In future. I’ll make a single Teflon or nylon block to replace the brass + seal and press it onto the stem.
Definitely gonna get one of these
Nicely done sir thanks for sharing 👏
Thanks a ton I was able to completely dissemble and replace all of the seals and put it all back together and it works! Great instruction and did not go too fast or use unknown vernacular. Wish the lighting had been better but I know it's a black gun so not easy! Definitely got me through super happy. Getting that last valve out was super difficult Glad you said to heat it up because that's what did it!
Hi there I have the same problem and I’ve just looked on the John nibs website and this is what came up. Washer assembly part no. DIANA22PS could you please confirm that was the part you bought please. Thanks for the video really really helpful
Perfect gun in a Star Wars movie set.
