I don't think this is Ballas - The Devil in the Details Part 1

  • Is it just me or are we overlooking a lot regarding ballas, his behavior, motivations, return from out of nowhere and his seemingly unreasonable changes in allegiance? Personally, I think some of it was right under our noses but... a shiny new toy made us look past a few very critical details. I'll be curious to hear what you think about this one, part one of a larger group of theories I'm calling, The Devil in the Details.

The grinner queens keep cloning soldiers to fight for her and transfer her body into. The corpus will exist as long as there is money to be made from exploiting innocent. The infested keep growing back faster than we can destroy them. The senteints have adapted in a way to that they won't die from age. And even though most orikin are e either dead or under glass🤣😁. Change in the eyes and voice indicate Ballas talking privately through transferrance bolt. And gestures with his "Orokin hand" indicate commands through transferrance. Ballas uses a gesture with both Natah and Umbra.
And now that i think about it, could the change of the hand be tied to how much an orokin uses void/transferrance to control others?
Edit: It was actually Lotus (not Natah) that Ballas used his hand command on.

It's all the Man in the Wall imo. He's coordinated everything ever since he got stuck in the Void. I think anyone who touched the Void can be touched by him, including or especially Orokin like Ballas. The longer you let him touch you, the stronger his influence, until you can no longer tell where you end and he begins. And I think Ballas has long since passed that point.

    • @Beanpolr
      @Beanpolr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don't think the man in the wall ever became "stuck" in the void. I think he's an extension of the void itself. He can't leave it normally because he's part of it, and when the zariman came and the deal was made with the tenno that gave them void powers, then he could leave, because he was now a part of them.

we already know why ballas has the golden eyes and the distorted voice when he speaks to umbra in the sacrifice. he put a transference bolt in him, which gave him direct control of his whole brain. transference bolts are brain implants the orokin used to communicate/control machines and everything else that served them. he waited because he needed a sign that the sentients are waking up again. he needed natah to make her the all mother and the full sentient force to finish the old war. this means that, to him, this war isn't over. he must know that the orokin aren't dead and only the sentients are able to stand up to them.
natah is a mimic. when she was lotus, her voice was the voice of margulis. now that she's natah again, her voice is a little more her own. geoff said on a devstream that she keeps the face of lotus on because she doesn't really know or remember who she was before her reprograming. as you know, she spent the last couple thousand years being a programed mother to her biggest enemies. the orokin deleted her and made her into a false margulis. we also know where the consciousness of a sentient is. it's described in that one simaris entry. a small star shaped mass, a living machine that absorbs matter and adapts. the big ships and the fragments aren't sentients. they're that. fragments of a body.
i believe ballas wants to die. he really wanted a perfect death. as in, he wants redemption because he betrayed margulis. he destroyed an empire for her. i think he wants to correct his mistakes and die in peace. in his own psychopathic way.

If theres anyone who isnt who they say they are in this story it's the Tenno. I dont think Ballas refers to us as, "devils" simply because he doesnt like us. Our helminth also refers to us as, "the demon". Our sworn enemies, The sentients, are parraled with Angel's in many ways. From Erra's, "dont be afraid" / "be not afraid" lines. To their multitudes of borderline eldritch forms and purposes, and their hierarchies. Even their concept is nigh angelic. A race of powerfull non human, sentient beings, created by "gods" that guide and pioneer humans to a new home. I think the tenno have a much more nefarious purpose.
Another observation, and kinda a reach. Natah has three forms; Margulis, the mother of the tenno. Natah, the daughter of the sentients. And the Lotus, the ethereal entity who directs the Tennos missions. She's like some genderbent version of Chistianities father/son/holy spirit.

If Lotus was purely Sentient, she wouldn't be in that suit thing. Even the way Erra talks when she tries to remember makes me think they are hinting that she is being controlled through the suit. I think Ballas betrayed her; maybe even was instrumental in allowing Natah and Margulis to meet before her death and resulted in some kind of amalgamation, and then things didn't play out the way he planned. Now, perhaps the Man in the Wall was instrumental in what happened to Ballas, pointing the player in the right direction. Still, I think you are on the right track. :)

I'm very interested in Call of The Tempestarii too. The cover art shows pluto. The tenno were going to the Outer Terminus when the void jump accident happened, coincidentally there is also a node called outer terminus on pluto. Tempestarii is a word from midlevel lore meaning someone who can summon or stop storms at will. In this case, Void Storms. I think it is going go be the setup for Duviri Paradox.
Edit: it says "Outer Gates" not Outer Terminus, but they could very well be the same thing.

When completing the Isolation Vault missions, there's a mirror in the vault in which when you look through it, you can see the void worm. The same void worm you saw in the Duviri trailer. In fact on Xbox, there's a bug in which when you use Transference with Excalibur Umbra within the Entrati ruins, just near the Isolation vault, you sink into empty space in which you will find a 3D void model and near the void, you will see the Void worm. Very interesting.

My current theory is that Ballas always intended to overthrow the Orokin to some extent. That would explain why he was so adamant about using Sentients to help colonize other solar systems. Margulis may have always been a Sentient and could have been there just to take the fall if the higher ups found out the plan. Since the Sentient were not particularly advanced in their early days, she might not have even know what she was, and the hive mind signal could have had little to no influence until the Orokin lost control of the Sentients.

(Long response- PLEASE READ- IT is WORTH YOUR effort and time)
First off, this is another Excellent video Siege. I Love ❤️ this one as well as all of your videos- even the ones from 3 years ago. Now, Siege, what are the clues that we know about? Can we all list them here? (Yes I’m talking to you the Viewer too) Here is what I know and theorize to be.
1- The Eyes: The eyes look different in the flashbacks than in reality. Gold for Ballas, Red for Hunhow and Black for the Man in the Wall- same with black auras that was shown in some of the missions and flashbacks. I think there is a big point to be made because Hunhow’s conscience is still alive despite his body being dead and things only changed when his body was dug up from the tomb when his “daughter” rediscovered it. She then went “into hiding” and the new character Teshin popped up (conveniently too I might add) to help aid the player when the Lotus disappeared for a short while. My theory is that Hunhow is possibly the one who deliberately hacked Lotus to make her “be” her daughter Natah once more rather than Margulis. His attempt to deliberately take over Cephalon Suda proves that this is quite possible- but I suspect only with synthetics and nonorganic life.
2- The Man in the Wall so far has made contact through the users bodies but only through brief periods of times (possibly by force but likely through a contract of some kind). Something of interest to note is that when you encounter the being on your craft not only does it look like you but I believe it is to be confirmed that your character is not in the seat whenever “he” is around- meaning he has limited possession of the body you- we currently control. This is important because since both the man in the wall and the tenno are involved directly by the Void, that means whatever tampers with our connection indirectly interferes with our connection to each other. Also the fact that the man in the wall uses “kiddo” means he knows us personally- somehow- and I think he is either directly keeping us alive somehow or he is apart of the player somehow. Kiddo itself is a word I’ve only ever heard of uncles and fathers use btw.
3- Theres more to Kuva that’s being hidden. Compare it to how it’s needed to roll rivens to the 3 orokin who swapped bodies in that one Halloween story and then see how the Queens use the kuva. Hell even the kuva liches have a connection with it but that’s never fully explained either. Interesting note- there is only a connection to Kuva to the operator and not the frames which Helminth cares for- and adores will calling the Operator a “Demon”. Demons are known to trick, deceive and to cause mayhem when associated outside of spiritual beings, realms and religious aspects. Also they are known to make contracts and to care about strength while despising weakness. Further note, they try to break what they can and as you can hear over the radio in the orbiter from time to time you can hear grineer make complaints about the Tenno making a mess on board the ships and about “investigating”. Interesting stuff that’s worth listening too once in awhile.
4- Many call the operator a “Demon” or a “traitor”- so it’s my theory that when we aren’t even the Tenno as the game says we are but are entirely different beings. What supports this? Whenever you die you instantly respawn and when in missions, there’s a screen showing of your character floating in space. That always felt off or wrong somehow. Also to add to this, our character can be in space just fine outside of the Warframe and after all these years I honestly don’t think this is a bug but was deliberately put into those space missions.
5- So far the only orokin we’ve actually met are supposedly Ballas and the family on Deimos- (Still no idea why the hell DE flat out removed that ship that is now where Deimos is). I find it odd though that we couldn’t interact with Ballas at all in the mission- he wasn’t even protected or anything..... we just couldn’t hit him. This is of interest because I think it’s quite purposefully done to either keep the Orokin away or that great lengths were taken to show that they were mostly killed off. The only odd thing about that is they supposedly have mastery over death..... so that seems unlikely- but supposedly that’s the answer we have to accept.
6- The white tendrils in the orbiter I believe are directly related or tied to the Void- but this isn’t confirmed I think. The finger as the engine I find odd though- but to a degree it does make sense too. I hope DE gives more of an explanation to this and how it works. If you take into calculation the other games, like Mass Effect, dead space (specifically the markers) and Halo, the sentients there could hack and convert non organics (except it is both organics and non organics in Mass Effect).
7- The stalker always pops up when we defeat a boss- and I have to ask, who repairs his frame? He is a Warframe too- just not one the tenno can control. He was allied with Hunhow and it’s quite possible he still is- but there’s only a little bit of evidence of Hunhow possibly controlling the Stalker but that still leaves much to be explained with his entrance, exit and how his suit gets fixed- and how his weapons get replaced when we defeat him and “take” what he’s dropped.

You know, this is a good way to look at it, and this is a little off topic, but I got to thinking the other day. We haven’t seen any orokin, up until the war within, i.e. the Elder grineer queen. After that, we didn’t see anything until ballas showed up, then we got the entrati family, and then even the glassmaker. We all thought the orokin were all long gone but we’re starting to see more and more. I’m wondering if (say we succeed in the new war and kill all the sentient forces) that the sentients go back to minuscule appearances such as the vomvolysts, and the eidolons searching through the night. What if all the orokin were in hiding this whole time. Similar to the glass maker and are just waiting for the Tenno to finish the job so they can make their grand return?

As an aside just to throw a machete into your theory workshop i feel like I should mention oro here. Short version is that tenno have it and makes them functionally if not fully immortal and its basically made/received by overexposure to the void.
However Teshin apparently says in one of conclave modes that some people other the tenno have them. Beyond that the sentients have an imperfect oro. Kuva is also a byproduct of oro and the source of orokin continuity. So thats numerous possible ways for the man in the wall to maybe influence numerous people

This is my theory as well. Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed.

I was doing railjack the other day an the container down the back where the man in the wall talks to you. He said there is something watching us out there...

The man in the wall shows himself to us in our own body.

We owe him(it?) for helping us during the Zariman Ten-Zero incident. I'm guessing he(it?) gave us the void connection/power that we used to fight off the parents that had all gone insane(only the children avoided that because the childish innocence didn't lead us to see/hear/experience what the adults did) during the void jump.

I always assumed the glowing eyes was him using the transference bolt to speak directly to Umbra...

I though the man in the wall was freed from rell's chains after the chains of harrow quest. Wasn't that the purpose of what rell subject himself to? But I also agree that the man in the wall may have had a part in the erra cinematic, but maybe not, even.

God I love your lore, sadly I dont think DE think that far. I must admit, I logged back in the game because of your lore. I did redo some quest to validate what you said and agree. Guilty pleasure I guess. Stay safe and thanks for upload...

If I can rekindle even a tiny bit of love for the game, then I feel that's a job well done. You could be right about DE but I gotta say there is one thing in particular I didn't reveal in this video that they have been doing for a while that... if it's not intentional, they sure got damn lucky, lol. I don't want to spoil it tho. Anyway, I'm just glad you are enjoying the content!

@@TheDsIEGE Looking forward to the next upload... I still think DE should hire you for lore value. Anyway, thanks for your hard work and yes you got me to log back in the game... I appreciate your content and please stay safe.

I really think the entire story was thought out years ago and it's just taking a long time to get it all out the way they want to. Too many things tie together for me to believe they're just making it up as they go along. I assume some things get altered a bit depending on feedback, but I think the major story line was well developed years ago.
