    Simple answer. The Tenno are not heroes, we are mercenaries. There's a reason why the Tenno don't help in every invasion, namely the infested ones, if the reward isn't there neither will the Tenno be.

      True enough.
      I always get a bit concerned seeing theoperator speak so highly of themselves as noble and honorable warriors when we massacre thousands on the regular. I hope some quest can touch on that.

      Thing is though, General Sargas Ruk touches on this. During his boss fight, he questions whether the Tenno fight for honour or for treasure, and that they are nothing to him but just more Corpus machines.

      The best thing are the truly sadistic corpus. Only one crown per mission, but also 3 (?) solaris in every single mission. That makes you the judge not only about if you save them, but also who you save, since you cant save them all. So, this develops into a fundamental question: are you grasping the lore, the knowledge, and lose your humanity by not saving anyone and becoming totally reckless much like the corpus (are you gonna be a corpus?)? Or are you sacrificing the chance for knowledge and might, for progress, and saving as much solaris as you can (are you gonne be a human?)?

    "How much human can you lose and still remain human?" Is a question posed by transhumanist media everywhere.
    In the Solaris' case, as seen when reaching rank 5, their heads are still completely intact, just in a different location. This in my opinon means they are still 100% complete humans, even in the case of Thursby who literally only has his head left.
    The only case where a person stops being a person is when the brain itself is tampered with, as seen in Ticker's memory fragments where she describes her lover coming back to her from Brain Shelving as a completely different person, their memories and personality gone.

    I had an interesting experience playing a week or so ago, when i was solo farming for the Granum Crowns. I knew you could use it to rescue Solaris people, but i had just assumed they were all stuck in the granum void. Then as i was exiting the mission, i stumbled onto one of the trapped ones, because i heard them calling out to me and my curiosity won over me. I freed him with a regular crown and then headed to extraction, only to be stopped because i ran into another one, who was nearby but hidden.
    It took a bit of exploring, but i found them trapped on a lower level, and was about to free them but paused because i realized i had already used two zenith crowns for the void hand, and i had one zenith left. After a couple minutes of internal debate, I ended up using it to free the Solaris because it would be hypocritical for me to have a positive karma wheel but just leave them there... even though the gamer side of me was pissed about wasting the Zenith coin to only get 900 standing.
    I didn't think about it then, but reflecting on it, there is nothing really stopping you from never using crowns to free them, aside from maybe the desire for standing and your morals.
    Edit: Man, this was deep. It makes me wish we could spend standing instead of crowns.

    • @Megalomaniakaal
      @Megalomaniakaal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haven't spent even one yet since I'd rather have a more meaningful way to save them en masse. I guess going to the granum void might be the way to do that. I guess. But I don't know.

    - Most of the machines he made, he made by repurposing old tech (Zanuka, the Mutalist gene and the amalgamation process);
    - He's the only (former) board member that fights us directly, deals with us often, and honors his deals (looking at you, Nef)
    - He's probably getting very close to bankruptcy, because I doubt Natah pays him.
    - He has a direct hand in the creation of all his projects.
    All he really need to succeed is luck.

I didn't get what the Tenno were, a space police, just random heroes, or just another faction working towards their own goal. That's the case with most stories based in space. When you spread so many creatures across such a big area it's hard to tell what's evil and what's good. We're currently on just one planet and everything still becomes gray when you look at a bigger picture

The machines and monsters they face, all of their enemies, are of their own creation. We play as one of their creations, in a time after they were somewhat forgotten. It's hard to say what we were even fighting for, why we left, or why we are seen as enemies.

Lore... weapon parts... whatever it is you're after, giving it up for the sake of someone else without even being compensated for your loss - that is proof that you have done good.
      That said, they do kinda make it easy on you here - there are solaris trapped in the part-dropping missions as well, and it's unlikely that the corpus you save outside of the granum void are going to be killed - more likely repossessed. First off, thank you for being one of the few people recognizing "lore" and information as a valid reward. That's how games used to be...we played because we wanted to "beat" the game, sure...but once games started to involve more story, we played because we wanted to know what happens. These days, TH-cam and reddit make it so playing for info isn't necessary. But at some point, I want to have enough crowns for the tenet fragments. Anyways...
    Awesome emphasis on the moral dilemma here, I think about it on the Corpus ships as well. I think it was a phenomenal decision on DE's part to work Fortuna and the Solaris into the Corpus ships. As well as granting Solaris standing for freeing the prisoners, it's a great way to connect basic missions with the greater world they've created. People hate the islands of content, and this creates great connective tissue. Granted, longtime veterans aren't as concerned with the standing reward (on my PS4 account, I can kinda concur), but I just finished Deadlock Protocol on my Switch account, and I'm only rank 2 or 3 of 5 there, so freeing prisoners with any Crowns I pick up will be my priority.
    Kuva Siphon missions on Corpus Ships are great for getting Zenith Crowns, I'm finding, overlapping rewards is where it's at. I need to get a squad of folks to run those with me sometime, get some Kuva, get a Crown, head into the void.

    The quest and post quest explains that the ones trapped on the ships are sent to granum void eventually. So there are two options, take xoris and free solaris or turn your crowns into credits (using Crown at the tenet shrine provides credits once you own all 11.).
    Tickers debt bond entry's explain that the corpus claim limbs till they have none left. Including the head. The mind is worked in the proxy system to earn their way back out, but you earn less then you rack up in nefs part of the corpus. Tickers boy friend (ticker is confirmed gay in the codex entry's) is one of the unlucky souls to lose even their head. Ticker worked to buy back his boy friends mind, but once ticker got him back, he wasn't himself anymore, being in that proxy network of other minds had made him no longer himself.
    So don't waste your crown saving one solaris, save a group. Eventually you save those guys you saw locked up. Your only saving a fraction of the solaris taken either way. Not all research is on granum void.

I've never seen more than 2 shackled prisoners per mission. The team can only enter the gran void once per mission. I'm fairly certain that everyone can be theoretically saved per mission. So, interesting thing is that, if you haven't actually started the quest, the prisoners and treasurer still spawn...but the treasurer doesn't actually drop a crown. There is no crown to pick up from the treasurer's corpse, so he's literally a random red marker you can kill any time you do a mission in that tile set, but unless you've started the quest, he never drops anything when he dies. You also consequently have no way of freeing the prisoners you come across if you haven't started the quest, either.

    VERY NICELY SAID. And interesting video yet again! It's like you're taking up the roll of StallordD and being the best Warframe lore TH-camr and catch all kinds of nice subtle details!
    Btw one thing that I really like about this update, is that it is actually quite a political one.
    I found out when listening to the Lore of Parvos: it's basically a criticism of capitalism. The story is basically Parvos creating capitalism within a feudalist empire. It is literally the same story as how capitalism is created. And how capitalism is supposed to work. But if you think about his philosophy than you'll realize that the Corpus becoming what they are now: just like the feudalist Orokin, was inevitable. Which is like a nice criticism on the libertarian mentality as well. They criticize our current form of capitalism for not being as it was intended and some even claim that we aren't even living under capitalism at all. But just like the Corpus, capitalism becoming what it is now, is inevitable. Lastly there is the part where Parvos mentioned that teh Corpus should either be violently restructured or abandoned completely. Which is a way to show us that he kinda has accepted that it was inevitable that the Corpus would become the way it is now.

    The worst thing about this for me is that I feel DE might not expand on the fate of the people we save (or leave behind) at all. They have left so many unanswered questions for years (remember that Chroma we had to chase and scan? how does our Warframe move during 2nd dream despite not having an operator yet? you name it) and I feel this might be another one to add to the ever growing pile. It's sad.

    From the moment I realized I can free them I did only that ... but now still have a bad feeling on those I needed to leave behind ...

    I’m no hero, I’m a demon in a metal vessel, no right to get help and no obligation to help

    Erm, these treasurers respawn on defense tile sets. So, after sticking around for about eight or so rounds will at least net you more than one crown. Just rinse and repeat till you have enough crowns to accomplish all objectives. Been doing this while grinding baro currency. Interception tile sets work too. Also, to counter TheDsIEGE a bit here, there isn't any golden hands or prisoners spawning on these missions anyways, so you can save the crowns for later tile sets that actually has the captures Fortuna prisoners, golden hands, etc. Yeah, it takes a little grinding, but everything takes a little grinding in warframe anyways.
