You are so awesome!!! You are definitely the Mr Rodgers of Jeep Tutorials. That is high praise. You could teach a five year old to work on their car. The quality of your videos, your patience, and clarity of instructions just what I need. And you are very calming. You make me believe I can fix this shit...and then I do! I don't know what I'd do without Bleepin Jeep. Thank you so much! ❤️
Thanks for posting this. I work in the automotive field and even with access to multiple tech sites, it's not easy to track down a step-by-step basic explanation of how to change spark plugs since it is generally regarded as common knowledge - especially on older vehicles (in this case a 97 Cherokee). This helped tremendously for a friend when trying to explain what exactly to do.
And a 2 rotor 13b rotary engine will have 4 spark plugs. Great video.......looking at buying a Cherokee and just kind of looking at the maintenance videos you have.
i tried to do it but the plug was kind of stuck, i believe it's so old, and there's a plug behind the AC compressor and it's hard to put the tool inside to reach it, what can i do ?
My '01 Grand has a coil rack (i think thats what its called anyways). all the coils are built into a long rack with boots that go over the plugs. It has 4 bolts that take it off. spark plugs are under that. also never had this issue but how do you fish out the rest of a spark lug if it snaps off? I just hope the solution isn't to drill it out because i know it'll be a bitch to fish anything out of the cylinder if it falls in
There are the magnetic spark plug sockets and I have a set, well worth buying.Don't install the Bosch spark plugs in Chrysler product.Chrysler products run like shit with Bosch spark plugs causing misfires. The platinum tipped spark plugs, don't mess with the gap or you will break the tip off.
I tried the e3 plugs on my 05 tj, terrible. They produced radio interference. You could hear the old school whine as you accelerated. Mighty Mopars usually like champions the best.
watch out for taller plugs out on the market they will f you over big time esp if you have a coil rail- the boots wont seat and or coil rail will be cocked or twisted thus not having the pegs at the bolt location seated flush to engine...factory plugs only no wiz bang 90 mile to the gallon plugs..no such thing ever made...look under hood on tag that will tell you everything you need to know... 2001 jeep grand Cherokee fresh built engine 30 over champion plugs new oil pan belt idler pully cam and crank lifters rods water pump radiator t-stat trans lines battery nss/switch crank sensor ...now having rough idle all replaced this week and dropped in and running for 600 miles in 3 days of engine break in... might be fuel that's why iam here...from Detroit the safest place on earth
everyone has to be a beginner at some point

Are you related to Mr. Rodgers?
I was about to ask the same damn question! Glad this was the first comment.

The hose cutter I got from Home Depot and Ive had the wrench for years but maybe you could find one online or at the auto parts store.
these old school videos are great with a beer on a friday
Where does one acquire such a spark plug wrench? Also where did you get that nice hose cutter?
Just use a long extension, you should be able to push the radiator hose around a bit.
What size of socket did you use
Have you done a video on the viper coil pack replacement on TJ/LJ yet. Would love to see a video on making the bracket for the coil pack.
no, i have not.
Would you consider it

Have you tried using the new e3 plugs and I like the t-shirts and also the episode on fast and load the shirt looked like it but not it
no, Ive never tried an E3. Thanks, I wish it was my shirt though!
clean the dirt out from around the plug wells
How do you do that without it dropping into the holes
Hey can you recommend me any other high performance better than re the regular one?
Ok I have 96 xj jeep Cherokee. Can you please tell me how much the spark level on it you said yours is 35000 can you please help me with the number
Wicked paint job

you should always use the grease ive broken so many plug wires because they get stuck on there, luckily though they needed to be replaced
What brand of spark plugs did you use? I have a '90 as well.
champion copper is what iv read everywhere.

That's what I figured

the only thing you can mess up is threading the new spark plug in sideways... so dont do that and you should be ok
what type of spark plugs are you using i have a 93
Alicia Iske Chrysler recommended Champion plugs but from a lot of reliable sources for the 4.0 NGKs usually work the best
When I went to the auto parts store , they said the book calles for copper plugs , is this true , 1998 jeep Cherokee 5.2 4wd
Jeeps do like champion plugs, not sure if they are copper... but regular cherokees never came with a 5.2?
hogykel elögyujtást adni vagy venni? kössi!
i did change the spark plugs but now my jeep grand Cherokee 98 is lose power what i did wrong i fallow ur instrucción step by step
maybe one of the boots is not connected good
Thanks ill check that ur tutorial are amazing
yep, it came that way and I havent got to it yet.
i always hate the last plug all the way at the back
thanks!

Dude, you're fuckin cool! Have a dope ass, Forth! Most my, XJ fixes came from your advice.
nice video guy
Matt you need a good battery hold down bud.
Wouldn't it be faster to just put the spark plug in the socket and start it with an impact gun ???
That would take days!
Thanks, love the vids, always fun and informative.
no need for a video, just connect the hose going in to the hose going out.
changing the plug near the firewall is too difficult . don't do it
good thinking , brainiac
@@mikehunt8079 .too funny
most times it makes sense just to change the spark plug wire if you're going to change the spark plugs with new ones... :/
