@@AurevoirAku its hard to make videos that perform well based on board meetings and business when you're entire public identity is connected to a game. Weird callout lol
I never really understood why they kept adding heroes instead of new maps. It's not that any of the heroes added are bad, it's that when you add a hero you have to rebalance all of the other heroes too. It's like so much work to do that especially if you're adding a new hero every 2-3months. It also means the game is constantly in flux, constantly being balanced and rebalanced like it never feels finished. I always wanted more environments to explore as I have a few characters I like to play a lot so it's more interesting, as an individual, to get to play my favourite heroes on many different maps rather than playing on few maps but switching heroes to avoid repetativeness.
offtank + main tank. Easy fix, could've allowed for 2 offtanks but not 2 main tanks. Easiest fix. Instead, they gutted the tank role, maps were created with 6v6 in mind so when 5v5 was launched some heroes were even more busted than before (Hanzo and Widow now even more OP uncontested by the second tank, and maps felt wider and easier to land sniper shots). Then they tried to rework all roles with passives and then removed the passives, tweaking shit just for the sake of it and messing everything up, making some heroes straight up unplayable, like Hog, Doomfist or Genji.
This logic makes no sense. You couldn't get 2 people to play tank. Call them whatever you want, main tanks, brawlers, makes no difference. People didn't like playing tank in ow1. Metal rank tank combos were more often than not zarya hog, both brawlers. Didn't reduce queue times.
I feel like a lot of the game's issues kind of spawn from the fact that PVE was cancelled, only to be put behind a $15 dollar paywall, but it's also because of how the game is balanced in terms of how certain heroes either positively, or negatively effect team comps. I don't think the game is dead by any means, but it's definitely on the fast track to more players leaving unless the balance team turns a new leaf, and solves most of the actual issues with OW's balancing. But nope, just nerf genji and buff moira. That apparently equates to "solving the real balance problems". L devs btw.
@@VladStopTalking Bro this. I couldn't care less about pve. I like ow because the team based gameplay and character are amazing. If they made cool pve sure I'll play here an there but not at the cost of the abomination that is ow2 and the neglecting of ow1 which was already a beautiful game.
The most annoying thing about 6v6 was the Zarya/Rein combo. The easiest tank combo that gave high value. Dealing with such a combo wasn't difficult, but most players in the metal ranks just did not understand to not shoot the bubble or at least rush Zarya after her bubbles are on cooldown. But nope. Gotta charge her up & not do anything about it.
I think it all goes back to the introduction of Brigitta. Once she was added in open queue, we got the goats meta. That pushed so many people away I don’t think the league ever recovered. They got desperate and decided they needed overwatch 2. As the league failed they became more focused on recuperating than producing value and changed models to where we are now. It’s all brigs fault
Its not brigs fault, they just dont know what the fuck they are doing. 1. OWL was a mistake, you cant force an esport 2. Even if Brig created GOATS, they still could have tried to nerf it correctly, but even after pros told them that AOE Healing is the problem (Brig Passive lol) they tried to buff goats counters instead of nerfing GOATS 3. Because they were too incompetent to Balance GOATS they created Role-Lock 4. 2x Shield, same thing as Goats, they didnt fucking nerf Orisas or Sigmas Shield Health/Uptime, they tried buffing shield breakers. Its idiotic honestly, even if these Orisa or sigma would be unplayable without 2x Shield, then just buff them back in other aspects that are not shields. 5. OW2 was 100% upper management wanting a Story Mode PvE Game that is sold as a box price game, but management didnt want to hire more people, so like 90 OW Devs had to do PvE and PvP which isnt possible so they stopped production on PvP from 2020 - 2022 to focus on PvE which is now gutted because they still didnt hire enough people.
It is interesting. I honestly think I mourn the game I used to love back in 2018ish. It was so good, by far the best game I've ever touched, but that dream is far gone.
Samito really needs to realize that even if the balancing was dog shit, if they just kept releasing new heroes, maps and making interesting new content for the game instead of letting it go completely dry, Overwatch would've remained hugely popular. Kaplan and Goodman leaving was an enormous blow not because of their ability to balance the game but because they were the only ones still left that had making the game fun for players as a priority instead of just profiting. We can all have whatever opinion on balance but truth is for the vast majority of people that is almost entirely irrelevant if they can have fun playing the game.
For most, it may be easy to just walk away since there's other games out there to play... but for some of us who haven't really liked any of the new games that have come out in recent times, that was all we had, and now this is all we've got. In recent years Overwatch has been my most prominent game, I used to play nonstop because I wanted to go to the Owl which is now nothing more than a dying dream. At the end of the day, once this game goes under I don't think I'll be playing or at least committing to any games in the future because though there are a lot of other Fps out there, non of them in my opinion compare to Overwatch's Wacky alternative team shooter experience, and it's because of that do I even still look at my Ps4 to play it. At this point I think I'm just going to ride this boat untill it sinks. I mean they do say a good captain goes down with his ship, and it looks like it's Overwatch's time to departure. Good games.
I used to feel like you but don’t be so narrow with your vision. Got myself a switch and been loving the games that come with that, also some new stuff for ps5.
@@Ren_CaImagine what we could have had if they didn't push owl so early. Ow could have had a thriving, diverse competitive scene that was actually interesting.
I can believe that, 5 year grind to get the hero and all the skins for it. Or, you know, you buy it for 60 $ and you get everything. they don't directly force you to pay, just indirectly. I know Jake from the Houston Outlaws quit to become a caster when the team decided to go full Korean mode, so they did try to hire casters that knew how the game is played.
I was a Doomfist main. When I logged on to OW2 and tested out doom, it was so disappointing. I immediately uninstalled and have never came back. Still love the Samito vids though!
Whats funny Sam, after you hearted one of my messages, Blizzard released the info on pve. The date is my actual birthday. They pushed back the the normal release schedule by two days(launches on a Thursday). I'm not sure if Andy(or any of the other devs) over there saw my message or just a lucky coincidence but I do love those guys over there.
Samito I feel like you could be very fun to watch playing Rust, I stopped playing ow after they cancelled the pve and found rust to be quite a nice change with the dev team updating the game monthly
I think one reason they changed to 5v5 is because they didn’t know HOW to balance double shield properly. It’s not a great solution, but it does technically solve the problem (while creating several other problems). It does make the game more fast-paced, but playing tank is not as fun anymore because there’s a very thin margin for error compared with other roles. There is no tank synergy, because you’re the only one. I long for the days I could duo queue Zarya-Rein or DVa-Monke. I started trying out Valorant because OW just doesn’t feel rewarding anymore. Ranking up feels impossible sometimes, like you have to go 5-0 or 5-1 to rank up because anything less will keep you in the same rank it seems. I hope they make the proper changes to make the game enjoyable again, because OW was really my favorite PvP game ever.
I looked at 5v5 and just assumed it was added because they were struggling to fill the role in OW1. Tank queues used to be lightning-fast, while the other roles took noticeably longer to find matches, so I figured that 5v5 was Blizzard's way of throwing in the towel, similar to role queue, and just making the game require less tanks to be played.
I played multiple roles, but honestly, off tank was some of the best times for me other than playing LUCIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOO. My friend was the main tank and we would crush enemies together, whether we had a full team or just the two of us. OW2 took away one of the best parts of tanking. I still like the tanks but..... 6v6 was better.
It is dumb that you have to grind for heros. Especially when its meta based. I also don't have any skins that cost money because I'm not paying for skins. That was one of things about OW1 that was alright was grinding. IDK MAN. They ruined it.
I never cared for main tank in ow1. I loved duo queing with a rein and off tanking with something like zarya but ow2 removed that so I'm stuck playing support or dps but it's not the same and overwatch doesn't feel the same. It's a sad state for the game to be in.
It is not speculation at this point Sam.....i had a Dva tell me she is supposed to dive the supps not eat reapers ult and that Ana is a good for dpsing over healing and to go Mercy..........most dont and i believe the announcers do
Overwatch died for me when they reworked all of my favorite heroes to be more "watchable." They _succeeded_ in making those heroes more exciting to watch, but it came at the cost of discarding everything that made them fun to play.
Only things i dislike about the Reworks is 1. Bastion losing his old Ult 2. Doomfist being a Tank 3. Sombra can hack from invis Overall the reworks were fine imo, but which Heroes do you mean?
I would love to remind everyone that 6v6 wasn’t that good… High sustain and never ending fights. Sure the tank role is meh now but I still rather take what we have now. Can at least somewhat carry with poor coms
I could not give 2 shit about PVE. Never thought it would work or be replayable from what I saw because they never had gear. As long as it had PVP I would keep playing. Or so I thought. 5v5 is so incredibly bad. PVP has never felt worse than it does right now.
My hot take is that SR should come back. A lot of my enjoyment came from that up and down while raging at teammates. Now we have a game that's better balance wise but less enjoyable
Its not better balanced wise. In fact I would argue 5v5 makes half the hero roster too good where you have to power creep other heros over and over again. Boring game tbh.
Sometimes I'm glad I'm more of a casual OW fan. I go through times of playing it regularly, and then not playing at all. Although this last stint has been solid playing it regularly since a month or so before OW2 came out. But I don't care about Lore, or PvE, or any of that. Maybe it's because I'm a lower rank, so my challenge/goal is getting a higher rank, so all the other stuff doesn't matter. But when you're sitting a GM regularly with no problem, you probably want that other stuff to keep it interesting. TBH if it wasn't for me watching so much OW content on YT, I wouldn't even know about all the problems, broken promises, etc that there are lol
tank was fun till you realized you were the team's baby sitter. in OW1 Tank was the most unfun role but in OW2 its like all 3 roles are tied for the worst role.
Tank wasnt even that unfun though, when you played Rein/Zarya or Winston/Dva it was a blast. Things like 2x Shield is whats boring as fuck, just poking, nothing dies. But yeah in OW2 Tank is 10x worse, DPS can do more so they feel better and Supps idk they are different but not more fun imo.
I stopped playing once they announced that PvE was a mess. I probably wasn't even gonna play PvE, but just a wake up call that this game isn't really worth playing lol
it was free on steam and we tried it, it's not beginner friendly. The Learning Curve is hard, Your aim on Valorant and CSGO don't work in Overwatch 2. Some heroes don't need aim and just spam, Everything feel unbalanced. We rather go play Paladin than Overwatch
Goodman leaving may be good now but if he was never here overwatch would have never been game of the year and the heroes we have grown to love would never had existed. Both Goodman and Kaplan are the reason this game even exists
When it came to when PVE was announced as cancelled me and all of my friends started slowly moving away from ow2. Even my friend who is a sweat and worked so hard to get to masters and gm also started to move away from the game. Heck i moved away from being a tank main when i first became a tank main i thought it was fun but after an update here and there it wasnt fun anymore cause now im going to get flamed if i die even once. Its no different now being a support main but thats not the point. The point is that the fact that ow managed to chase off most people who've been in the franchise for years its mind boogling. Their comp mode is a mess and ranking system is even more of a mess. Random but the lore is confusing as heck i dont know why 75% of the characters are there and doing what they do in the first place. Its funny cause me and my friends made a joke about me being on the character and or lore team even though im only a kid i make better story lines than what they do. (Dragons was an amazing cinimatic tho) as someone who enjoys writing stories and making characters i hate it sometimes when certain characters are mysterious for no reason. Whats talons purpose? What made Moira do what she wanted to do? Etc. So many questions but too little answers and i hate it- ow im trying to hang on to you and keep hope but its hard to do that at this point.
I love 6v6 with main & off tank. If they were going to rework Orisa then why go 5v5? Plus, the supports having these heavy survivability (invisible disc of Baptiste and cleansing jitsu of Kiriko and Brig.) Hurt the game. Now on the PvE, I'd rather for them to scrap out the "Overwatch 2" and put the new engine on Overwatch and pump the content into the server of Overwatch and on they between time, do the PvE story mode till you have enough to used for content.
Yeah. I came here seeing if anyone knows anything. Haven't seen a video in a while and checked his socials. Twitter and Insta are gone with no explanation. Hope you're doing well Sam.
This game is not a shooter but MOBA with shooter elements..Also game design is team-based casual friendly similar to Heroes of the storm witch was failed hard compare to LOL or DOTA and OW compare to CSGO or Valorant or Fortnite and on..You cant carry you can get hard countered and you are forced to play deathball teamplay..There is no casual friendly Esport..

I always wanted more environments to explore as I have a few characters I like to play a lot so it's more interesting, as an individual, to get to play my favourite heroes on many different maps rather than playing on few maps but switching heroes to avoid repetativeness.
agreed. They should've had more of a balance with new maps and new heros
See you guys in Overwatch 3 🫡
Wish they would just bring Overwatch 1 back 6v6
Maybe we'll get an ow classic in five years 😢
They could have created another class of tanks. Do Shields and Brawlers. 6v6 like this is the way.
offtank + main tank.
@@PaulStargasm “People didn’t like playing tank”
*all us tank mains with our duo buddy just standing in the corner 😐*
I feel like a lot of the game's issues kind of spawn from the fact that PVE was cancelled, only to be put behind a $15 dollar paywall, but it's also because of how the game is balanced in terms of how certain heroes either positively, or negatively effect team comps. I don't think the game is dead by any means, but it's definitely on the fast track to more players leaving unless the balance team turns a new leaf, and solves most of the actual issues with OW's balancing. But nope, just nerf genji and buff moira. That apparently equates to "solving the real balance problems".
L devs btw.
5v5 too
@@nathancasey7712 True, true.
I promise you most people didn’t give a shit about PvE, it’s just a loud minority. The game is bad, plain and simple.
@@VladStopTalking Bro this. I couldn't care less about pve. I like ow because the team based gameplay and character are amazing. If they made cool pve sure I'll play here an there but not at the cost of the abomination that is ow2 and the neglecting of ow1 which was already a beautiful game.
@@VladStopTalking Fair point.
If Overwatch 2 released the PvE mode in conjunction with it releasing on Steam, I would have picked it up immediately, but alas

Rip Samito wish you continued to stream atleast right now with the team Queue for some great content
Hello sir, the numbers for getting Kiriko and all her cosmetics was about right. 5 years
I miss 2018 Overwatch as well bro
There are more ads than content these days. Video starts at 1:41
The most annoying thing about 6v6 was the Zarya/Rein combo.
1. OWL was a mistake, you cant force an esport
2. Even if Brig created GOATS, they still could have tried to nerf it correctly, but even after pros told them that AOE Healing is the problem (Brig Passive lol) they tried to buff goats counters instead of nerfing GOATS
3. Because they were too incompetent to Balance GOATS they created Role-Lock
4. 2x Shield, same thing as Goats, they didnt fucking nerf Orisas or Sigmas Shield Health/Uptime, they tried buffing shield breakers.
Boy Samito is milking this shit for all its worth.
We can all have whatever opinion on balance but truth is for the vast majority of people that is almost entirely irrelevant if they can have fun playing the game.
agreed
Overwatch is probably the only gaming franchise where if they announced a sequel, the community would be PISSED
Got myself a switch and been loving the games that come with that, also some new stuff for ps5.
yall wish the game would die. truth is the monetization is trash, but the gameplay is GOLDEN.
I hope samitos okay. He deleted his twitter and instagram
Good.
I wish we could see samito reacting to some OW World cup too
nothing important in world cup, just mirrored heroes in almost all matches.
@@FRNathan13it's still so cool to watch, much better than owl
Stopped playing two weeks ago for Final Fantasy 16, honestly feel so much better for just not playing OW anyway, game got bad
Samito I feel like you could be very fun to watch playing Rust, I stopped playing ow after they cancelled the pve and found rust to be quite a nice change with the dev team updating the game monthly
I told you guys and I tell you again! before OW2 started .. I told you guys OW2 is just a update !
Gsraider tried to warn y’all🤣😂
I think one reason they changed to 5v5 is because they didn’t know HOW to balance double shield properly.
IDK MAN. They ruined it.
you reacting to any ow stuff hits hard brother :( it is what it is
i want my money back for Ow 1 OR ow1back
As a diamond BALLMAIN that learned sigma. I Uninstalled like so many suggested
Goodman leaving was a blessing in disguise lmaoooo
No 😂 he created most of the heroes so you are completely incorrect
This is what happens when the creators play the games n make adjustments based on them playing vs the community feedback
I never cared for main tank in ow1. I loved duo queing with a rein and off tanking with something like zarya but ow2 removed that so I'm stuck playing support or dps but it's not the same and overwatch doesn't feel the same. It's a sad state for the game to be in.
It is not speculation at this point Sam.....i had a Dva tell me she is supposed to dive the supps not eat reapers ult and that Ana is a good for dpsing over healing and to go Mercy..........most dont and i believe the announcers do
Honestly I think the 5v5 change was only made to justify the tank reworks making them stronger. It seriously hurts my soul though😔
Overwatch died for me when they reworked all of my favorite heroes to be more "watchable." They _succeeded_ in making those heroes more exciting to watch, but it came at the cost of discarding everything that made them fun to play.
Only things i dislike about the Reworks is
1. Bastion losing his old Ult
2. Doomfist being a Tank
3. Sombra can hack from invis
Overall the reworks were fine imo, but which Heroes do you mean?
Lmao instead of getting 100 pve missions we got 3 and a 15 dollar pay wall excellent
Yes it is right it is five years plus
Oh, what we had and will never have again....
What happened to Samito? He deleted all of his social media accounts.
Liking the new video set up. For the algo
I would love to remind everyone that 6v6 wasn’t that good… High sustain and never ending fights. Sure the tank role is meh now but I still rather take what we have now. Can at least somewhat carry with poor coms
Blizzard and Activision seem to actively try to sabotage their image every other week.
I could not give 2 shit about PVE. Never thought it would work or be replayable from what I saw because they never had gear. As long as it had PVP I would keep playing. Or so I thought. 5v5 is so incredibly bad. PVP has never felt worse than it does right now.
Samito knows. Skyrim was a gamer's wet dream. I wonder, were you a fan of Oblivion/Fallout, or was Skyrim the game that got you into gaming?
My hot take is that SR should come back. A lot of my enjoyment came from that up and down while raging at teammates. Now we have a game that's better balance wise but less enjoyable
Its not better balanced wise. In fact I would argue 5v5 makes half the hero roster too good where you have to power creep other heros over and over again. Boring game tbh.
Hey Sam, what happend to ur twitter? it doesnt seem to excist anymore

Just wait till the next season. Win 35 games in that role and you unlock the hero... its not that bad
Don't know about this bit but now there's talk of an anime series for overwatch. To me this sounds like desperation

They could've turned it around like EA/DICE did with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 but they doubled down instead.
I Confused...why are you still talking about OW when you moved on?
I quit season 4 lol, didn’t play again until season 8
Congratulations on 170k, Sam!!! Well-deserved!
I would like Samito to try out Warframe. If nothing else, he would get to play Genji's flying slash ability in Excalibur character.
I stopped playing once they announced that PvE was a mess. I probably wasn't even gonna play PvE, but just a wake up call that this game isn't really worth playing lol
You're really chill but your thumbnails are obnoxious bro.
it was free on steam and we tried it, it's not beginner friendly. The Learning Curve is hard, Your aim on Valorant and CSGO don't work in Overwatch 2. Some heroes don't need aim and just spam, Everything feel unbalanced. We rather go play Paladin than Overwatch
Weren't u gonna leave? Just leave already.
11:40 i think he means all cosmetics. Maybe not
overwatch is a classic case of great art being a victim of its own success.
so happy you bought mineplex ,3 cant wait to see what you do with the thing that made so many childhoods.
I think the addition of Baptiste was worse than Moira. Lives anything by looking at the ground. Stupid ability
Sam, what happened to all your socials they are all gone? Everything good?
