First story, I can relate. I was that guy. I asked a lady out on a proper date and she felt terrible that someone liked her for who she was and there was nothing she could do about it because we both knew what she did and she couldn't just stop. I just wanted to make the most of the last few days of my trip getting to know her, but she was stuck to her job. We had a strong connection and she sabotaged it so I cut ties with her. I'm still glad to have met her.

Pea, I like hearing the mailbag from the Filipina side. Communications is the key. Sometimes its difficult and sometimes we don't get the results we want but don't just hope it will all workout before making a lifetime commitment. Additionally, when you are telling a partner something you have never revealed before give them time to process it. You have been thinking about it for months but this is the first time they have heard it. Also if their initial reaction isn't good don't get too upset or yell. Give them some time. I would tell Jessica to not only stop what she is doing (we really do become the choices we make), but to also get a medical exam, to help quell any fears that she or her partner may have. Salamt po.

Your understanding of Western culture and ability to explain Filipino culture continues to amaze me , Ms Pea :)
You were spot on about the word "love" and how Western guys tend to not use that word often. I myself don't use it (in a relationship) unless I'm ready forthat level of commitment (at least, as I see it) - and it can be a bit awkward when the other person starts using it. Likewise regarding kids - after my divorce, I dated quite a lot, but most of those dates never went beyond the first or second date. I didn't introduce my child to any women unless it was already a long term relationship, or was heading that way. The main reason was I didn't want my child to deal with a "revolving door" of strange women coming in and out of their life.
I did have one lady (from Vietnam) who asked me if I loved her on our 2nd date. *That* was awkward....

I'm not trying to be judgemental here but i think there is a difference between having had a few boyfriends with benefits and having sold yourself for sex. the more she does it, the easier it gets and it becomes difficult to bond with just one man. Not to mention how tempting it would be to step out and do it any time she wanted more money for something. I think you explained the ILY issue perfectly. Filipina seem to want to jump right to saying it even sometimes on the first date. If she can get the guy to say it, she's got him hooked and she just has to reel him in. But most of us have been burned by at least one western woman. So we aren't going to easily jump to say those words. It could take up to a year because we want to make sure she isn't just trying to hook us. Most women just don't have it in them to pretend for a long time to be someone they are not. So if we wait them out, they will eventually show their true colors or prove they are who they present themselves to be. As for the third girl, if she feels comfortable enough with this man to talk to him about experimenting in the bedroom, that's good. But she must maintain whatever boundaries she is comfortable with. That may mean they are just not a good match and she will have to find someone else.

The first story is heartbreaking. I am very impressed with Ms. P's response and advice. The girl has found a path into an unimaginable bad situation that has already caused her great harm and as yet undefined misery.
Ms. P's suggested path puts an end to the nightmare, and the advice recognizes that continued deception is unwise for practical reasons and for the girl's own well being.
HOPEFULLY the guy doesn't bolt. If I was the guy and she came to me and fessed up and asked for moral and leadership help, I would at least consider if that is worth doing; we don't know how the guy will respond. IF I as the guy figured it out later, which would almost certainly happen, I would dump that girl out on the street with the trash cans and leave instantly.
Hopefully this terrible heartbreaking situation is successfully navigated.

I can only imagine how tough living in a third world country is like, and how temptation could get a female. The thing I don’t get is why do they keep having kids they can’t afford? Family is awesome, but it seems that their family orientation takes away from ones being successful and independent and or taking away from the others being lazy and depending on other family members support.
It seems like in the west it’s the opposite, parents are financially still helping their grown kids financially instead of kids supporting their parents. But atleast the kids are out of the house.

Being accepted for face value is shallow, liking a lady because she's pretty or accepting her past because you want something from her. Sure I would like to be ACCEPTED for face value so that a person wants to come get to know the REAL ME INSIDE to decide if I'm a person to be around. What men VALUE in a woman he will commit to comes from INSIDE, personal character, who she is as a person, and FAR from face value. The pretty icing on the cake ONLY gets your attention, it's the inside that gets your heart.

    • @arthouston7361

It is wonderful to hear questions from the Filipinas. I have a couple of comments. One is that the most important thing in life is accepting of one's self, warts and all. Once you are completely comfortable with 'you', with who you are, with your life circumstances, you can look forward to decide the kind of future you wish to create. In my world, I'm more interested in a woman who is confident, comfortable, no excuses with their life as it is. Being honest with me and with herself. I don't want to fix or save anyone. I seek a partner where we help each other to fill our own glass. Loving oneself is the very bottom line....always. I may not agree with the behaviour of the woman from Manila but I understand her sacrifices for her family. It is both admirable and sad.
And.......As a man, I can safely say that men who use porn as a source of ideas and/or sexual desires are living in a fantasy. They see these images and get off on them. And then expect to find them in real life. I'm a film-maker, writer and podcaster so I think you and I understand the reality that media is not the same as real life experience. To expect a woman, especially from a different culture, to play into your fantasy is a recipe for unhappiness. You hit the nail on the head by suggesting open mindedness and doing only what she is comfortable doing. Just as the woman in Manila sacrifices for her family, this woman may find herself sacrificing for the relationship. In this case, the relationship will not last.
Your wit, your intelligence, your insights are quite exceptional and I do hope you feel good about these talents of yours. You rock!

Just like those "mothers" that would rent out their minors they only care for the money and when confronted, will put all the blame on her. Only way out would be choosing for the one that love HER and not HER MONEY.
Poverty drives parents to it? BS! I know a guy that paid for his stepsons education and helped them landing both a good job abroad. Both got married. Their wives were sisters. The moment their dear mother-in-law heard about it, she demanded from both daughters each a monthly "support" of 20k Peso. In that time a bit more than what a high school principal made. The parents had jobs! A teacher and a city hall office worker. The foreigner/stepfather told her that he paid the expensive school so his sons would have a better life. Not to feed a money hungry parasite. Afterwards his daughters-in-law told him (in private, of course) that they were glad he told her off as they lack the courage. I think it goes even deeper than that. The obsession to provide for the parents at you own detriment (and them feeling entitled to your doing this) is based on the Stockholm Syndrome (with heavy dose of narcissism). It's conditional love (like being forced to accept god or being damned for eternity). The power the parent holds over the dependent child in the beginning combined with parental demonstration of their willingness to inflict such power against them is what causes it. I've seen young Pinay being sold to old men and worse. But, I've also seen western men saying they are happy with their PH bride all the while the bride is suffering being forced to make love to them (she finds him repulsive). The lack of empathy all around can be pretty disturbing.

I see money as a tool, not really that important if you are getting by OK. Like I can take a $10K loss in the markets in stride, because the markets are easy come easy go if you slip up. She will take the same thing as the end of the world. If I were not so old, I would leave just for that, not kidding, you do not prioritize money over spouse, or over anyone for that matter. Great gal, but I lose respect of her for her love of money above all.

Perfect observation. In Western countries men on average take up to three months to say I love you and women even longer at 5 months. Filipinas fall in love, or so they think, in many cases after the first date or first intimacy. There is a huge cultural difference here and if she applies pressure he will actually start thinking the opposite which is how many men has she said this to and how many men has she been with. A man under this type of pressure does not feel special.

Hi Pea, always interesting to hear what's in the mailbag, particularly this one since it gives a new perspective. The first woman really needs to be honest with her man - hiding something like that is taking away his choice of whether he wants to be with her anymore or not - like you said if she doesn't open up about it now it will certainly tear them apart if he finds out about it later.
For the last one I think it's quite correct that she needs to have a discussion with her man about bedroom activities. Perhaps he won't be so eager if he realises how reluctant she is. Of course you should never let anyone force you to do something against your will but perhaps there's some things she less worried about that could be explored first.

I think it’s best to visit the Philippines, single and meet someone there once you get there instead of falling in love with someone first, because you never know if she’s having emotional attachment towards someone else.
She probably fell in love with a foreigner before that never showed up and doesn’t want to take that chance again, so they talk to more than one guy at the same time. It’s just the way things are sometimes.

  • @christopherturco197

Pea, thanks for sharing these concerns of Filipinas. This is just as important for foreign men to be aware of as their own concerns are. After all, there are two people involved. It would be awfully selfish for guys to have all of their concerns and desires addressed without giving any thought to their Filipina. That's not a loving relationship. That's just using a live, fully interacting sex doll. Might as well just save up your dollars and order a robotic girlfriend from Japan. 🤖
I believe your recommendations for these ladies were all spot on. Especially for the woman who is living a double life. She will feel so much better about herself if she comes clean and explains everything to her beau. If she loses him, at least she can move forward with a clear conscience, and, having learned from this potentially harsh lesson, and she won't do anything to jeopardize a future relationship. If he forgives her indiscretion, and it may take some time while he works it through in his mind, I would expect that it would strengthen their relationship. After all, if she could confess to something like that, what else could she ever be keeping/keep from him that would be worse? I think he'd be pretty safe that she would never have any secrets from him for the rest of their life together, and she would be so grateful for his forgiveness that she would never give him any reason to question her loyalty and love. I hope you'll keep sharing these messages from your Filipina fans. Who knows? Maybe you'll expand your following amongst that demographic.😘❤

Good morning Ms. Pea. Once again you are providing excellent advice. That first one was indeed complicated. I realize things go differently in a third world country and it’s not always black and white. That said, a lie is still a lie no matter what country you’re in. Obviously I don’t know the woman, but you said it right, either tell the truth or else the lie will eat you alive. If he leaves, he leave and so be it. If he doesn’t, then ok. Either way she’s in deep. I don’t think I could be with someone who lies like that. If she’s like about how she makes money by sleeping with other men then what else is she lying about. Hate to say “she belongs to the streets” but that does seem to be the case.
Second one is just pushing too hard. Chill out and let the relationship flow.
And I’m sorry but that third dude just sounds like a big perv. Porn is fake AF, and it doesn’t only rot your mind but it’ll destroy your relationship/marriage.

I am a Youtubber. This isn't my actual account - it's my work TH-cam account. My obligation is keeping my work life, private life and online public life separate.
    It's like living 3 lives.

People act like everyone falls into one category or the other, that they're either "good" boys and girls or "bad," but the truth is that people are complicated. It could be that I'm an outlier here, but we can never know these things about each other unless we're brave enough to be intimate with each other.

I have heard a lot of prostitutes/of girls saying that when the truth was revealed their parents were mad until they found out the girl makes good money or when she was paying the bills. Then suddenly everything was fine. I wouldn't be surprised if the family of the filippina hooker was fine with it as long as she kept the money flowing. Knowing what actually goes or can go through the other gender's mind in relationships is helpful to understand how to keep the relationship going in the most positive way.
The first lady, yes I agree should stop doing what she is doing for extra money and come clean about her actions and her reasoning for doing do. Her foreign BF will have a higher chance of understanding, and may actually lend a hand if he moves in with her after accepting her reasoning for quitting the extra curricular work. Hi Pea,
Your advice for Jessica was spot on.
If she is totally honest with her new b/f, he will be hurt.
Sure, some of the shock would be finding out this truth, but if he truly loves her, the pain would be the circumstances which led her to that path.
If she had only begun this recently, with just a few, and was stopping it all because she loves this new guy, then if it were me, I'd be there for the long-term plan and rescue her from that path....
... go over to physically be with her, and take it slow...
To not just jump in bed with her, but show her that I was there for her. Chat and be with her... build the relationship from the ground up, and put the rest behind us.
Then, after she knows my true intentions, then progress to the intimate details. The love making will be so much more meaningful and the future together would be forever and a day.
Good luck to Jessica, and I hope they both find true love ❤️ and happiness.

You gave good advice to the lady who is in a phone relationship. I’m in a messaging relationship with someone, distance for now is the reason. I’m really fond of her and impressed, but common sense and maturity will never let me go beyond interests. In time we’ll meet or not, and if we do, such things as person to person chemistry and compatibility will determine the rest of our relationship. I see love in two ways, one is gentle and the other is deeper. It seems ones ability to say “love” is determined by which of the two loves he uses.

As an Australian who spent 12 months in a LDR with my now wife (Cebuana) I can sympathise with that story.
Had the man been happy to say he loved her, but unwilling to let her speak to his son, that would be a red flag. He'd sound like he's willing to say he loves her but not act like it. But to neither say it, nor close that distance with her, to both take it slow and keep some separation, thats pretty normal. It's not like he's leading her on and pretending to love her when he doesn't.
Still, best to make plans to meet in person sooner rather than later.

  • @danelionheart5881
    @danelionheart5881 ปีที่แล้ว +2

For the first one. The past is the past, but I question what was said. I would assume this guy had to of asked about any of her relationships. Granted she didn't date the guys and only had sex with them but no matter what it would be a relationship non the less. The guy wants to be with her and plans on going back for her. She needs to be open and upfront Now before he gets on the plan. He might hang up and not talk to her. But he might hang up and need time to think. I don't think many guys would want to be with a girl that while she is at work and times get hard, she helps guys go soft for a little money. The second one. Saying I love you is something that should only be said if you mean it. I say I love you all the time to everyone, but I mean it as well. For me life is too short to have hate in your heart or on your mind. But it is the way the person says I love you is what matters. Pushing a guy to say I love you will only make it harder on your relationship. now for the third one. Oh Boy. I am kinky and I love to explore a lot. Most guys do not want the basics. Most guys want what they like and if a girl pretends to like it just to get the guy after time stops wanting it then more than likely the guy will find a girl more willing to meet his needs. If you find a guy you like but you do not like what he enjoys doing in the bedroom, then you are better off letting him find a girl that does like the same thing. This is almost the year 2024. No man will be willing to marry a girl without testing what is there to offer and to see how well she will perform. I know it sounds mean but no man in his right mind will marry a girl and then find out she will only lay on her back and ok hurry up stick it in and are you done yet. People never buy a car without looking under the hood and taking it for a test ride. A girlfriend and or wife is an investment. The man is not just willing to spend money but their time as well they will want to know if this investment is going to be worth it. True it is said it is not all about sex. But it is a lot about it. No girl wants to be with a man to find out he is with another girl just because you just are not willing to do the things he likes. better to find out now then after you get married.

I disagree with Puppyupper in a way! If You truly believe that you should allow those poor people to swap experiences with you so you allow them to stay in the place you stay and eat and live off your budget and you then go stay in that dwelling with dirt floors and whatever other horrible conditions for at least 30 to 90 days and I'd almost guarantee you'd change your opinion on the desperation of those that are in extremely terrible situations. Get off that high horse!
There are those who say that foreigners don't have to go overseas to find a mate, maybe there's truth to that but one Never knows what options someone truly has until they're in the others shoes.

@@David-gv7gf I have lived off grid in the Philippines on and off for 10 years prior to the pandemic. I lived with them. I did have a concrete floor in the bedroom, but not in the main room or kitchen. Yes, I have lived with mosquitos, scorpions, centipedes and cobra.
I am not on a high horse. I see the poverty. I also see the reason for it. A reason, which I highly suspect you have absolutely no understanding. Prostitution is not an answer to poverty but part of the driver of it. Track any prostitute in the Philippines and see where she is when she enters her 40's.
And your premise that someone who lives with a dirt floor must be desperate and living in extremely terrible conditions is so disrespectful to those who are raising families in those places. They would take your accusations as insults.
I was invited into their homes because they knew I lived among them and did not judge them as you are doing in your post. You are the one who needs to climb down from your moral high horse.
God has blessed me, He blessed me to go to them. To show them love. He has always met my needs. Now He has blessed me with incredible wealth. I am going back soon to start an orphanage. YES, I am going to build a very nice ocean front home there, but the majority of my money will go to the orphanage. And YES, I am going to marry a Filipina. I have to in order to start an orphanage.
I will hire teachers to teach them free market economics, something I bet you despise.
It is an absurd position to suggest anyone should swap positions with another. As the saying goes, "If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day; If you teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime." No one would learn anything if they stepped in my shoes without the understanding brought about by the miles I walked in those shoes. No doubt if you swapped life for a day in one of those dirt floor houses, you would truly think you lived in an extremely terrible situation and be desperate to swap back again. Life is not the cookie cutter picture you think it is.
May God open your eyes to Truth

Honesty: Always the best policy. Lies tend to catch up with you eventually, and the consequences are like a snowball rolling down hill: It gets bigger and bigger over time.
Compromise: Plant your feet on some things, but be willing to try others. It's all about how comfortable you are with the person you're with. I've been with women who were prudes to the extreme (missionary, under the covers, lights out, no talking) and total freaks (you don't even want to know and TH-cam wouldn't let me post it here anyway). Finding that perfect "lady on the streets and tiger in the sheets" can be difficult, and finding a man in the same likeness can be as well. Being open with each other on your likes and dislikes early on is important, but again, compromise is key (on all things).

The last one was good advice. Don’t do anything you’re not comfortable doing; it can turn out very badly. I am aware that some women have had partners in the past that were not very “gentle”. Also I am aware that my Taiong can be scary to a foreign woman because they’re not used to…well, you know. If you decide to try it later make sure that he is someone who will respect your boundaries. You might discover it’s something you like when done correctly

Jessica - additional note from a foreigner... if you dislike the "extra" income activity, then stop that activity AND yes you might lose the current foreigner but if you take a moment to realize the amount of customers you are getting, it is a pretty good indication another love interest is likely to come along and if you are not doing anything to hide then the past stays in the past. No one has the right to your past, what matters is the honesty you have going forward. The only time a detail from the past, from this type of activity, should be shared is if you contracted a gift that keeps on giving and for many foreigners, that detail can be worked around if love is the foundation.

Then move on. It isn’t fair to the other person to not know your past. Everyone should be able to change their life. But it is the other persons decision to make that for themselves.
