To the totally awesome supporters of The Filipina Pea Channel
I don't know what to say... I was absolutely floored by the comments. I didn't expect so much love and support. But I guess I should have. It's the TFP channel after all.
It seems that most of us are in agreement. There's no way I can let her down. I would never be able to look at myself the mirror again.
Even though I remain undecided as to the best thing to do. I will continue to support her the best way I can, as long as I can.
I can't really share much more information, I'm sure you all understand why.
Thank you so much! And God Bless you all!
    Dan

Dan, my situation is different. My brother in law is very sick. He lives on $5 a day selling tofu. My wife went to Metro Manilla to visit him. Long story short, we purchased a studio apartment for him to live in. It's near a hospital. My wife and I will pay for his care, housing, and mediation. He will need to get a job at Robinson's mall. I didn't realize how bad the poverty is. A little will go a long way. Keep us informed. Thank you Pea for this forum.

Dear Dan. This happened to me. 23 years ago my wife and I met, fell in love, married. less than a year later she was in a weelchair, diagnosed with m.s. she is now dying with lung and brain cancer. I did not have the problem of distance that you have, but staying in the relationship was a no-brainer. so if you love her, you will find a way to make it work. will it be worth it? you will have to live it to find out. it won't be easy and ultimatly it will break your heart. but heartbreak happens no matter what. I think that living in love, however short or difficult it may be, is better than trying to live with your conscience. sorry dude, LOTS of tough choices ahead.

I am an RN. More detail about her condition would make it easier to comment ie what is the name of her disease and what is her prognosis if she receives this treatment and at what level of cost? It will seem heartless to some of you but I deal with patients in a quantity that would make you gasp. I also work so much overtime it is accurate to say I see twice as many patients as other RNs. Over time I have developed a health care philosophy. Many of the people I take care of are under constant life preserving treatment but the quality of life this gives them is horrendous and in my opinion - not truly living. If this level of "living" comes at great cost and sacrifice then I feel it is selfish to continue the treatment (not that anyone asks my input - at least not often - at least not until hospice is such an obvious choice that everyone is willing to listen to reason). Next is the exploration of cost versus benefit. If Dan's quality of life will be significantly worse then it is sadly unreasonable for anyone to expect him to place his life on the alter for a 4 month relationship. Let's get real about relationships: they often fail and most experts recommend a year to really know someone. Sure you can love in less time than that but so did every man who has later experienced divorce. Now let me speak as a man with a foreign wife who has survived serious cancer, a year of chemo, and disfiguring surgery. Even my wife has decided that she will not choose to live through a relapse should it occur. Her quality of life is very reduced. Mine is gone. Improvement is not possible so hope is tough to kindle. Things will only get worse for her and me. I am 60 but look and feel 45. My family lives a long time so when I outlive my wife no one will want me. I will be alone. For God's sake Dan do not be me. You have a hard choice but it is a choice. Sometimes being a man means doing what others are afraid to do and sometimes it means doing what others want to do but are afraid of judgement. I love my wife. We smile and laugh everyday but can have no intimacy. I cry when she is not looking because I am working my life away for a future that I probably don't want. Don't be me Dan.

Married and dating are not the same. Many females all over the world will walk out on a man only for not being able to earn enough to her desire. It's a harsh world. Yes a husband should stay with a wife through sickness and in health or his kids. Best to live in reality.

Dear Dan, my heart is with you. Although my wife wasn’t a Filipina, a lot of people _thought_ she was; she was from Chengdu, China. We met through my small compassionate relief organization. My group, Chieftain’s Angels, went to Sichuan to help deliver aid to the victims of the 2008 earthquake and my translator was a cute, respectful, petite girl named Yi. Long story short: Yi and I quickly fell in love and got engaged.
It took me a very long time to get her to the West. First, I tried as a Canadian citizen but when that was unsuccessful, I sold all my Citigroup stock, hired a lawyer, moved back to the USA, and brought her here. We married on 10-10-10 at 10:10am and we had five years of sheer marital bliss until breast cancer took her away. My heart breaks every day as I still grieve, and my only solace are the sweet memories we made together.
My advice: stick with her as much as you can. Cherish every moment.

I respectfully disagree to a point. Just because she is super jealous now, doesn't mean it lasts forever or gets worse. My girlfriend was like that at the beginning, but with me re-assuring her over and over that I could never and will never cheat on her it has brought her "cheat dream anger" down a whole lot. It really just comes down to reassuring her that it was just a dream and that it would never happen in real life.

This has nothing to do with his girlfriend being a Flipina. My ex-wife did this to me. We woke one morning and she was livid. She redily admitted it was because she had a dream I had cheated on her. I had not, would not, and was completely faithful to my wife. After a few days, i thought we had worked through it. As the months went on, she got worse. We couldn't walk through a grocery store without arguing about every female who walked past us. Old, young, good looking or ugly, skinny or fat. She had a problem with all of them. It got to the point that I literally had to look at the ceiling as we shopped, or whatever we were doing. She would giggle at me when she caught me staring at the ceiling, I never found it one bit funny. One day, a little kid was peeking around an endcap at me, I smiled at him. My wife immediately saw my smile, and shot a glance in the kids direction. Just then, a particularly unattractive mother of the child walked around the endcap and my wife said out loud, and at the top of her voice, "my God, I even have to worry about the ugly ones with you". That was the final straw for me. I left her about a month later and never looked back.
My advice? RUN! It won't get better.

I can tell you what your dreams mean. I have had the same and have done the research. Let me start with your flying dream. I had these when I was younger. It means you want to escape the life situation you are currently in. Which is not a bad thing. It's like you want to explore the world. See what's in it. The other dream you are having, I am currently having this one where l am looking for a way out of a house. But can't find it. This is like your mind is in a state of confusion. Not knowing really where to go. I don't like this dream. It scares me. What I did when I kept having it regularly is, I told myself before I went to sleep if I want to get out of this dream. Keep saying `wake up, wake up'. This worked for me. I woke up. And I don't have that dream as much. The dream where someone is chasing you, I don't know. I never had that. I think l would try and do the same by saying 'wake up '. Your friend, Joe

I'd like to offer another take on Dan's problem with his chronically ill girlfriend. Falling in love is not the same as loving. Almost without exception, parents love their children but you never hear them talking about "falling in love" with their children and what would we think of a parent who abandons a child with a chronic medical condition? Love is more than just a strong attraction or an irresistible infatuation. Love is instinct to put the other person first in all things before thinking of yourself, to always make sacrifices for the other. Real love is reciprocated love - when two people put each other first. This is why life-long love shared between a couple never wanes or gets boring. It's a simple formula - the husband who is focused on his wife's satisfaction above all else and the wife puts her husband's pleasure before her own. There is a good and valid reason why traditional marriage vows include "Love and honour (him/her) until death do us part." How many times have we heard of engaged couples going through with their wedding despite one or the other suffering a paralysing injury that will require life-long care? If Dan truly loved his girlfriend, her medical condition would change nothing in their relationship. However, they are not married and neither has made any life-long commitments to the other. Wedding vows mean something ... legally, morally and ethically.

Furthermore, we do not get to control if we "fall in love", we certainly don't get to control who we fall in love with, or when it happens, or how hard we fall in love. The best we can do is to recognize when it has happened. Lastly, intentionally turning off your love is impossible, and I mean absolutely impossible. If you realize one day you are no longer in love with someone, that will happen without your consent. Always remember: free will is a myth.

Hey Dan, just remember that love only really means the deep emotional need for the well being of other. If you deeply care for her well being then do what you can to give her the love and support she needs.
Make it clear that if this is a financial burden for you then her community of friends and family must do the same and step up and that, if it's all on you, then you cannot keep it up.
This needs to be a community effort from all the people who love her. Talk to them directly if you can.

Hi Pea, I have suffered from lots of nightmares since I was child. A psychologist told me over 20 years ago that when you have dreams that don't end well, it's that your mind is trying to figure something out and failed. That advice has helped me not take too seriously all the scary scenarios I found myself in while dreaming. I have figured out that the brain is trying to either make sense of something (any decision you have to make) or trying to cope with a situation that seems too much to bear in real life (real fears/phobias, disasters) or trying to physically cope with former real life situations (trauma, movies you watched). A few years ago I started allowing myself to go through the bad dreams - yes, finish them! And what I found was that the whole scenario would then morph and change into something bearable. Even better, some dreams stopped completely. Other nightmares I am able to face them with less fear within the dream, so that they turn into challenges instead of scary situations. My brain may not have been able to figure out whatever it was trying to figure out, but it at least got further along with it. Anyways, I know it sounds strange, but I encourage you to allow the nightmare to finish, so your brain can finish processing whatever it is trying to figure out (which may not have anything or very little to do with the storyline of the dream). It may not resolve happy, but I found it will resolve with less fear.

I can attest to two of those topics, Dreams and Sleep-Love. My Filipina girlfriend of two+ years now is amazing, we are so in love with each other, and I'm the happiest I've ever imagined I could be when I'm with her. With this, though, it took some getting used to or learning about some cultural differences and Pea's channel has really helped me better understand. Plus, she always tells me about how she grew up, her family, where she lived, went to school, and so on. Anyways, we laugh about it now in past-tense, but there have been plenty of dreams she has had where I'm guilty of something and she is mad at me the next day. She'll playfully hit me and such in her "anger" and I'll continue to defend my virtual self by reassuring her that I would never cheat on her. She is usually over it by the end of the day, so I'm lucky there I think. Now, as for the sleep-love thing, this is true too. She jokingly says things like "r*** me babe", or saying "r***" in some other ways, even telling her closest friends that we are in a group chat together with "I'm mad at him cuz he didn't r*** me last night". Again, it's all playing around, but based on what Pea said, it all makes sense. My g/f has said how she grew up with her 10 siblings (only two brothers) living in one small house even past the age of 18, so some including her would have boyfriends or husbands staying over and that's just how they do "it". She even said that when her and I go over to visit her family and stay in her house, we will have to do "it" under the covers when others are in the house or even sharing the same room. Oh, and another thing she does is pretend to be asleep for just a few seconds while we are making love and it excites her more. I love it!

He took care of her through the whole ordeal and to this day stays in contact with her adult children in the Philippines. He brought her ashes back to the Philippines so she could be buried there. This is an example of what a real man would do. Thankfully, a few years have passed and he’s pursuing another relationship with a Filipina. So, his story has not yet ended. Recurring dreams are often important and you should pay close attention to them. As for the dreams you've mentioned in this video... Perhaps you're running because the presence that seems to be looking for you is intimidating. However, I would consider 2 key elements... 1 He always finds you no matter where you are. 2 You don't know what happens when he finally catches you, because you always wake up.
This is where your 2nd dream comes in. In your 2nd dream, it sounds as if you're astro-projecting. That also means that you're aware of the fact that you're dreaming while you're dreaming. If you're aware of the fact that you're dreaming during the dream, remember that you are powerful beyond measure and that nothing can harm you in your dreams. So, if you ever have the 1st dream again, try not running. Instead of being in fear, be curious.
Who do you imagine might have such a large presence and why would they be looking for you?
There is a 3rd element to consider... You seem to be in a large building of some kind that seems to have infinite rooms... Every door leads to another room with another door. You didn't mention the details about each room, but you did mention hiding under a bed and having the ability to hide each time you've had that dream, so it stands to reason that the rooms aren't empty. Infinite rooms could represent infinite possibilities. I have some other thoughts about this dream that I will withhold for now.

Just by the tone of the way he wrote that email, it really sounded like an excuse not to move to the Philippines. But not knocking him for that. The Philippines isn't for everyone on a day to day basis.
If he doesn't want to live there, he'd just be miserable and they would most likely have issues because of it.
He can fix it by marrying her if he truly want her as his wife, and move her to the States and get her better medical care in the process, all while continuing to work and live where he wants to live. It would give her a better life in the long run.

Don't do something you Know you will regret no matter how good the intention as then you'll only have misery to look back on instead of Happy memories and which will comfort you in your later years as the others you made that sacrifice for won't care as they will carry on and live their own lives. Hi Pea, hope you're going well. I used to have bad dreams when I was a bit younger. I found that it was very helpful thinking about the dream before I went to sleep, walking through the normal dream process but then imagining an alternative and more positive ending.
Imagine the house of your dreams while you are conscious. Imagine chasing after the monster instead of waiting for it to come to you. You are the hunter, not the prey. When you capture it, or if you are being cornered, imagine that you chastise the monster and your words turn it into a puppy or a kitten. Imagine how cute the little guy looks. Create positive feelings for him. You can then play with him and tell him how silly you were to ever be afraid of such a cute little floof. If he seems to turn back into a monster, you can get cranky again, "We'll have none of that here, mister." He's not a monster. He's just a very naughty boy. You can even imagine giving him a name. The more detailed your imagination and more positive feelings you can have towards your little monster, the better it should work for you.
When you fall asleep, your unconscious mind will access some of your conscious memories. Your unconscious mind doesn't know the difference between real memories and imagined ones. With a little luck your dreams will incorporate the more positive story you've imagined. Once the negative energy of the dream goes away, it will usually go away on its own over time.
Both dreams are completely normal and flying dreams are extremely common. It can be frustrating when they wake you up. The exercise I have suggested might help you take control of your recurring dream and turn it into something pleasant. Even if ir still wakes you up, it won't be an unpleasant waking and you should be able to drift back off to sleep more easily.

I've been in relationships that had no closure. Always leaving me in what seemed to be endless tears. And in the end of each one I found myself alone wondering what happened? Finally, after a number of those I found something that was never thought of before. The greatest strength I've ever known is inside me. It took all of those pains to go through, searching in others and going different places to uncover what I've had all along.
After having discovered that long ago I'm very comfortable, content and happy. Myself. And wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I need noone because I'm complete. You too may find what you've always yearned for. Yourself. Yes Dan, it's inside of you. It's not in another person or location or thing, but you.
This may be a hard pill for you to swallow now. And you may even think you and I have nothing in common. Don't be fooled. However if you go the correct direction you'll uncover all the wisdom and maturity you could hope for.
    Just look inside. It's there.

Dan, if you're reading this, here's what I would do. Ask her to email you a copy of her health records pertaining to this medical condition, perhaps by suggesting that treatments in your country 'will be more effective,' even if they probably aren't. Make sure to ask for a scanned original form, not a translation, and not a mobile phone screenshot. Then, gauge her reaction to this.

If she tells you she cannot obtain these, that's a lie.

If she delays replying or procrastinates, be suspicious.
If you tell her you have send less money from now on and she expresses frustration or anger, be suspicious.
Your story reminded me of the experiences of two friends of mine who sent money to girls in Thailand and the Philippines for alleged 'medical treatment' for family members. Both turned out to be scams. I'm not suggesting the girl you're sending money to also trying to scam you, but be aware that scams these days have become more elaborate and sophisticated, even involving health workers in one of my friend's cases. Hope this helps.

Pea I really appreciate your honesty in that first situation. It is an impossible situation for which there really are no easy answers, only options. I wish Dan all the best for the future, no matter what he decides to do.
As for Jerry, all I can say is, "Welcome to the Philippines". Having experienced it first-hand, I can tell you that there is no rational cure for this kind of jealousy. No amount of talking will resolve it; however, continuing to behave faithfully in the long-term tends to reduce it by earning a little of the Filipina's trust. My wife was often jealous early in our marriage, but it has lessened over time as she learned that I am not the playboy type. When she becomes jealous now, I tell her, "You are too much woman for me right now. Why would I want another one in my life?" I hope that helps.
For the Swedish guy (is it Goran?) I have been happily married to a Boholana for seventeen years, and I must say I have never heard of any woman there asking for this. I can only guess that maybe the Pea is right about this - maybe she feels insecure about doing it while she is awake. I would follow her suggestions. All the best to all of you!
As for your dreams Pea, I'm no expert on dream interpretation, but with that first one, it sounds like you need to stop watching too many horror movies. If you play a game, make it a fun game that doesn't involve horror; that stuff can really mess with your head. For me , dreams about flying are about freedom - leaving the bounds of gravity behind. As a former pilot, I really miss the feeling of freedom that comes from being in the air. Does that mean anything to you? I hope that helps you.

Good advice. You made up your mind as you said you didn't agree with your friends and family. It's your money, your heart, and do what feels right to you. As long as you have feelings for her, you will not be available, emotionally, to meet someone else. If you find this changes, and you have feelings for someone else, be honest with yourself. You can still continue to help her as a friend and develop a relationship with someone else. Keep in mind the next woman may not understand why you help her. Please make sure you are emotionally available before dating again.

My advice for Dan is to get married to her. Get the residence for the Philippines, start a small business that you can manage, and work while taking care of her. You don't need to live a life of luxury. But only a small taco shop, or burger joint, could provide you the resources to live comfortable and happy, if her treatments will allow her to live her life for years to come, and you can provide a future for her and yourself. Then those medical needs are nothing more then a challenge to overcome and a to show your love for each other by over coming it. You do not need to be dating for 5 years to know if she's the one, if you feel it, believe it. Then the reward for over coming this challenge is well worth it.
I have 10 years as a Chef, and 20 years running businesses, from restaurants to resorts. If Dan want's any advice on how to set things up, how to find what options work well for him based on experience and background. I am happy to help do not ask for anything in return.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I hope this helps. Usually doing this requires a little bit of lucidity when dreaming, but the #1 way I've found to get out of negative dreams is spinning. Spinning in a circle in the dream will always change the dream for me (though not always for the better). Another thing I've had some success with is "falling in the river". Close your eyes, hold out your arms, and fall backwards like you're plunging into a lake. Another thing to note is that dreams are like emotional mirrors, the more scared you are the more the dream will echo fear back at you.

The sleep snuggles thing... I've had it go both ways. I had an American GF that expressed a similar request for sleeping booty. It was well accepted for a few weeks, and then I guess she was over the intrigue and changed her mind.
My Vietnamese wife loves it and has never acted otherwise. She says it makes her feel secure that her man finds her irresistible. So sometimes I'm not necessarily in the mood, but if I don't for too long, she'll think something is wrong. Vietnamese women are on par with Philippinas in the jealousy department.

I just brought my Filipina from the Philippines to the United States in December and in my last visit with her, she had discovered that she had a thyroid problem. It was pretty devastating for a little while she even had some really bad heart arrhythmias that could’ve been life-threatening honestly. and I will tell you that it crossed my mind that we had not brought her over and I had concerns about her health and such and this is probably not as serious as the situation that the gentleman was in that you presented. But having said that, it’s also possible that, perhaps, or something that could be done better here in the United States, then in the Philippines, since we don’t know the full extent of the health issue of the gentleman that presented it, but I would like to say, don’t give up on love and prayer you never know where it will take you! I can report that my future wife’s health issue is in check and we’re going to be married February 12 follow your heart!

    Hello Pea,
Dan's story is a very sad one. I think the question I will do to myself if I was in the same situation is, what quality of life she will have from now on. I recently lost my mother. Me and my siblings could keep her living a little bit longer. But she has been suffering for years. In the her last days, she wasn't eating. So she went into a surgery. They installed a tube connected to her stomach, to feed her with liquids. At some point all the siblings decided to let her go, and end her suffering. It was selfish of us keeping her alive, but in pain, and bedridden.
    I hope it helps Dan.
Regarding the sleeping booty, I don't know what she means by using her while sleeping but I have more sexual drive in the morning. And I'm an early morning person. Some of my ex didn't like when I woke them 4-6 in the morning, to have sex.
If a Filipina enjoys sex 1st time in the morning, that will make me super happy. I will have sex at normal times like when we go to bed at night, but I enjoy it more in the morning.

When it comes to bad dreams, I always kept in mind the advice hear a long time ago from a psychologist. Write down the events in that dream - like telling a story. Then write down the same story only this time with a happy ending. Now, rehearse that ‘good’ story and, if you can get it worked into your memory well enough, the subconscious part of the mind will switch to the ‘good’ story when next the mind plays back the dream. It’s said to be effective. I haven’t needed it but kept it in case of Ned. Hope this helps.

I had a similar situation with the doctor. My Primary Care Physician got a new job at a hospital in NYC so my doctor’s office replaced him with an attractive Filipina doctor. I got sick and scheduled an appointment with the new doctor. As soon as my girlfriend saw that doctor she became a patient at the same doctor’s office and accused me of trying to hook up with my doctor. I asked her why she thinks I’d do that. She told me it was because she didn’t like the way the doctor looked at me and thinks she’s attracted to me. I was completely oblivious to how she was looking at me and was trying to not be sick anymore. I ended up getting a new doctor.

Hi Pea, I used to have a dream similar to your first one when I was younger. Thinking it's a nightmare pushed me into the study of dream's interpretation. The dream, similar to your second one, I keep having in the recent years. Both dreams are actually good dreams. The first one warns you about your uncertainty in a particular life challenge(s). It will eventually pass. To make it pass quicker, talk to your subconsciousness after having such dream to identify your weakness, then raise the associated skill. The second dream is inspirational and reflects your subconscious motivation. Again, you could use the same technique to identify your personal motivation, which could be a dual-edged sword. Again, fear not; both dreams, and the dreams in general, are beneficial, once you learn, how to explain them and talk to your subconsciousness. Good luck.

Good post. I remember a dream I had in the second or third grade about flying, I was on a swing and I jumped and just started going up and up and up. The clouds were wet and ice cold, and I could not control anything I just keep going up, right passed the clouds the sun was a white light that didn't hurt to look at, and I was scared because I could not get down. Then I woke up ice cold and soaking wet. I have learned to control my dreams and I can lucid dream now, and you can also. Plan your dream early in the day and start day dreaming it when you can during the day. As you fall asleep think about that day dream, I like deserted islands dreams, where you have to figure out how to survive, how to build a house fire and that kind of thing. So that's what I dream about. It's not as easy as people think lol. And you already have the superpower of flight most people don't get a power, use it in your house dream.

Flying dreams means freedom from stress, worries, anxiety and etc.
So when you interpret both dreams together, it means when you face whatever fears, stress, anxiety, problems and etc, you will get a positive outcome that you did not expect. It will be liberating because it was not bad as your mind portrayed it to be.

53 year-old here. Been around the block a few times and have gained quite a bit of wisdom along the way. You have to be true to yourself; anything else would feel like a betrayal of who you are and that is a tough pill to swallow.
So you were with her for 5 months. 5 months, 5 years, doesn't matter. There is no particular timeframe for when to love someone. If you truly love her, then there will be a way to make things work. See if there is a way for your work to be done remotely; there ARE options. Thing is: is she good for you? Are you good for her? You being IN HER LIFE may be just what she needs to have a decent way of life, and I don't mean financially. Frame of mind can be the one thing that makes life better than bearable.

Wow, dear Dan, this is a hard one and I very much feel with you, man! The one thing in here is - about love. Most has already been said down here on this. Another is on: happiness. Every one on earth deserves his or her share in. Your girl friend is in for nothing for the terrible fate that fell on her. Is this, though, your 'fate' too? For you to decide, what makes you happier. Sometimes, the less happy choice is a substantial more of 'happiness'. There's nowhere said that we all are 'provided' the full happiness, however we define that. I think, if the girl is as Pea describes - then she will find a sound happiness in you ... NOT running away. Period. And ouy may find a deep and eternal happiness in providing to her right this, rare (!) luck! All I'd dare to 'advise': take a little time for yourself (!!!) to consider, how much she really means to you. Does her happiness of you staying with her make YOU lucky enough? Does, you staying with her, make her lucky enough to then being able to cope with her condition? And, realistcally - can you cope with that all?? If you do and keep that through - you'll, at least, be 'rewarded' with a solid good conscience. For sure. I just cross all fingers for both of you!✌

Hi miss Pea, this is for the first feller with the hospitalized lover. Have you to prayed about it? I'm Christian so I'm thinking spiritual.. is she Christian? Have you prayed with her. God can bring trials to strengthen us and change our direction. He can end a trial and heal anyone when the trials are over. But you both must surrender to the process, and pursue him. He is with both of you in the suffering. I chose to confront trials head on, spending time with God to deal with the reason for the trial, and get out of that trial as fast as possible. I don't want to walk in my sin and disobedience for 40 years.. I would prey with her and ask God. He is her healer and should be the core of your lives. God bless we will keep you both in our prayers..

In my opinion, the scary dream sounds to me like something that makes you uncomfortable is not being confronted. I know you say your country is not known for confrontational women, but in this instance, it is weighing so much on your mind that it is affecting you when you don't even realize it. You may have to face your fear when you are awake if you want the one to leave when you are asleep.
I have flown before, and I love it! It has been a while since I did, but I notice this also changes with my confidence. The more confident I am feeling when it happens, the higher and faster I can go, and the more control of it I have. I have had an instance where I could barely do it at all, and I knew it was because real-life situations made me feel down on myself. If you ever fly again, beieve in yourself and be free! It's much more fun that way. :)
