Maricel is a self made Filipina Legend 👍😎. My kind to Filipina who doesn't wait for a "saviour" to make a success of her life. OMG 😱😱 the evil monster ex drugged you and threw you over the Mactan bridge 😱😱. Dude should be in jail.

Awesome story Pea, that's a very strong willed lady there. She's got the will to live, the will to succeed and don't take no for an answer. When is the movie coming out and who's gonna play the part of the "Filipina Pea?" Can't wait till part III comes out. I gotta go watch part I now. Awesome job girl. Have a good night and stay safe Pea.

Maricel's story of inner strength overcoming the odds is fantastic. She really shouldn't be alive a couple of times over. Clearly God is watching over her. Filipina Pea, thank you so much for this interview video! Maricel is an absolutely an amazing woman! All the s*#t she went through and came out on top is simply incredible. Lots of adoration and respect for her! Her husband is a very lucky man, and I hope he never forgets that. I am a retired computer engineer (I am a Dutch-Indonesian mix), and pool playing is my biggest hobby, since I was 14 years old ( I am 68). About a year and a half ago I met this amazing Filipina woman at the pool hall where I always play pool. She is absolutely beautiful, sweet, positive, and has a big heart.Honestly, she stole my heart, but I have no chance with her, which tears me up inside! She's 35 and I'm 68. I don't have a chance with her because she believes in an "age appropriate" relationship. Among all her positive characteristics, she is also a very good pool player, which makes me adore her even more. I wish she would think about an older man like Maricel, but unfortunately it's not meant to be.

In my past travel in the Philippines, at one point, I was socializing with the financial Elite. Yes like all Upper social economic constituents, they had an air of dignity and worldliness. This young lady proves that you can have class and appropriateness. She proves it does not matter where your family comes from.. you can be a queen with dignity. And of course it does spice up the punch that she's good looking. She gives me hope that I can find someone amazing like she is. Thank you.

Two of the most interesting and intelligent women I have had the pleasure of watching, for a long time.
Both knew that despite their adversities they both knew that they needed to adapt to their situations, overcome their adversities but most importantly of all they had the strength and intelligence to move on.
Remember it's not about how hard you can hit that makes you strong but how you can take a hit and have the strength to move on.
To all of the women around the world please take note that these two strong women should absolutely be your roll models.
You would be foolish to dismiss them and not to look up to them both. ❤

For example the reason why there are limited people(who mattered or who's supportive) that i just told about our relationship and not everyone, and then when he link me your videos, i started scrolling and watching, and saw that there is one particular videos that helps me explain it to him(that i am not making him a secret but rather protecting our relationship). Maricel, I feel horrified about what you went through. It's just mind blowing to me. You are not only a beautiful woman on the outside, but I can tell you are also a very beautiful person on the inside. You seem confident and intelligent with a good heart. That said, I apologize in advance if I sound like a father with the rest of my comments, but you inspired me to share my story and insights with you because I have gone through a very similar situation. From the interview, it sounds like you are happy now and your marriage is doing good so my comments may not apply and might not resonate with you, but I share them in the possibility that it may help or maybe one day in the future they might strike a chord. First, I am VERY baffled why you jumped so quickly into another relationship after going through such a toxic and abusive relationship that almost ended your life? I am not convinced that it was coincidence that you "ran into" your current husband the same night after seeing him in the 7-Eleven. I would bet any amount of money that he followed you afterward and made it appear like a coincidence. One other thing...why did you sleep with him less than a week after meeting him given the circumstances you had just gone through???? And then marry after 60 days!!!!! OMG! What were you thinking? I listened to that and just shook my head in disbelief. There's an old saying..."Even when every fiber of your being tells you otherwise, sometimes it's just best to do nothing." You needed time to heal yourself emotionally and spend time ALONE with yourself and to love yourself first WITHOUT any influences of another man! I can say all this as a man that is 58, was married for 12 years (now divorced), as well as been in several long-term relationships...the ONLY way you can ever truly love and give of yourself to someone is when you get to a point where you feel so confident in yourself that you can be alone for an extended period of time and still feel completely fulfilled, happy and content. When you can look at yourself in the mirror and say, "You know what Maricel, you are awesome and I love you!". Any good, decent and honorable man would have never tried to have sex with you that quickly. Especially if he knew what you had just been through. You should have "tested" him longer and made him wait at least a month and might I suggest even longer. It also gives you time to REALLY get to know him before it becomes about the sex (especially after what you went through). Because lets face it...that's why he wanted to be with you. Like myself, he's an aging older man well into the later part of his life. Him being divorced twice should also raise some concerns on his ability to be in a committed relationship. I live in New York City, but I married when I was 38 to a woman that was 21 years old from another country. When the marriage was good, it was some of the best times of my life and I can honestly say I have never had someone love me like she did. Not even my own mother! But when the marriage was bad, it was terrifying and some of the worst times in my life. Like any marriage, we both had our faults. She had a temper and could not control her emotions and I just didn't know how to let someone love me. At one point she was arrested for attacking me and spent the night in jail because I did not want to have sex that night after a long and stressful day at work. She hit me over the head with a frying pan and came at me with a 12 inch knife! I could have easily died that night or been seriously injured. But afterwards, she begged me to stay with her and I ignored the court order for her not be be near me and refused to press charges. The case was dropped. A few years after that incident, she woke me up in the middle of the night and told me she was pregnant and that the baby was not mine. We were together throughout her pregnancy and even talked about staying together and raising the baby. Ironically, on the morning of my birthday, she got up early to make me a birthday breakfast, but instead she went into labor and was rushed to the hospital. She had a baby boy. She did not want me to go to the hospital with her and when I did not hear from her for 2 days, I went to the hospital only to find the father of her son in the waiting room. Shortly thereafter, we divorced. Like yourself, there were choices I made in my marriage that just seem outright absurd and puzzling as to why I never left. Well, I can honestly say that I see things much clearer now! I have been alone and on my own now for 8 years. Spending the past 8 years being alone and by myself has been the HAPPIEST and most FULFILLING time of my entire life! I used to always feel I needed to be with someone to feel complete as a person, but after the divorce and spending time alone, I was able to find "myself" and look deep within my soul. In spite of all my flaws, poor choices and regrets and I can now humbly say, "You know what Tom, you're awesome and I love you!". It took me over 50 years to get to this point! I do wish you all the best and my hopes are that your marriage lasts a lifetime and that it doesn't take you as long as it did me to find yourself.

    Pea:
As always you bring us deep into every topic and subject you cover. Well done!
Maricel's story is not only inspiring for her triumphs but how she rose up past the horrific problems with her previous relationship to find by the way she smiles happily when she talks about her husband, the love of her life. It is also inspiring how at such a young age she decided to break the mold of the normal way of life to become a great role model for other people (not just Filipinos) to take charge of their lives and forge forward to achieve their dreams, goals, and aspirations. Everyone can learn a little something from her story.
It's not over until it's over mentality in striving towards your goals is something they should teach in schools so that kids will have a better chance at achieving something positive in their lives, rather than just running the same race that goes nowhere and never ends.
It is interesting that she stated the one teaching from the bible that many people disregard, "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime" in her ways of helping her family. By not giving them instant money to survive today, she helps them start a business so they can survive for generations to come. I wish them all the success in the world!
Inspiring stories like Maricel's need to be told so that people can see that if you have a worthwhile goal, you can be a phoenix, like Maricel, and rise up out of the ashes and do something incredible with your life.
Again Pea: Awesome interview! keep up the great content!

      Hei Crazy Kid
It's nice what you have written, but l think the same way, even down to the art of learning to fish over getting a fish for a day; over this last couple of years people from her childhood reached out for help, when for example the husband died leaving children under 10. We pyovided an oven and 50kgs of flour with other nessecary items. The woman was given recipes, sort of online support and morally encouraged and 18 months later still bakes bread and cakes to sell in the community allowing her to feed her family, yet re-invest in her business. They are told at the start, it will only be one opportunity. Another lady is preparing 3 or 4 alternative Flipino type meals for sale varrying them each day, but she was made to understand she had to re-invest, she could only use the profit to feed the family; if she fails, there will be no second opportunity, from our source. Another guy we got him a freezer so he can sell frozen food locally, and it is working out also; other smaller projects of help to Orphanages, provide rice amd sardines. With blessings the help will increase, and those helped will be encouraged to help themselves for their families welfare. (From UK. & Ireland).

What a treat…thanks so much for bringing this to us early Pea 😁 Just a remarkable story, but what comes through the most is the self-assurance she’s gained through all that life experience and determination (much like yourself perhaps). Her story sounds like the reminiscences of someone who’s been on this planet a heck of a lot longer than 27 years! I can barely believe her former partner isn’t in gaol - there’s no way an attempted murder charge would get dropped like that in any western country. Hard also that her husband’s family have been so hostile…it seems like the jealousy of others has been such a constant battle in her life. Anyhow…I’m rambling on. Great work - only you could have stumbled across such an epic story!!

(Assuming you are Caucasian) tell your momma you aren't marrying a White women and see what she says. Better yet ask your father the same question.
The issue with Caucasians is that some are very hostile to blending. There exceptions to blending are baseless, victim blaming and racist.
The number one trope is poverty. Meanwhile lots of Caucasian families have "deplorables" in their family present and past. Why you being so judgemental of others, questioning their motivates or work ethic?
Nobody calls you on this because expat/international interracial relationships used to be exclusively White male except for Black men bringing home war brides until recently.
Murder charges being dropped say it with me now = White Male Privilege

Wow. This is pretty interesting there's a lot of TH-camrs doing a lot of things regarding the Philippines and his cultures people and the beautiful place that it is and the affordability of it. Although you should continue to do interesting stories about the less heard of things like maybe crime like this. Every place the world has has a little bit of crime but this is pretty amazing. This person seems pretty brave and able to overcome what she's gone through. Although that sounds scary. I've heard that there's sometimes in South Korea there's quite a bit of crime and some mean and evil criminals that sometimes murder people. And that's a little bit surprising. I know Japanese are a little bit different different culture than South Korea or the Philippines although murders do sometimes happen in Japan for how big that area is and how many people are there it's surprising murders aren't very common. It's mostly sometimes corruption or maybe theft or scammers. This is a good point though that woman is so very brave. Hawaiian States and places like Mexico and Canada of course they mostly have local news and they don't have news stories of other places like typically France or Germany or any type of murder news or things like that or the Philippines or Japan not typically just big events like earthquakes or typhoons it is good that you bring this to the attention of the world

Interesting story, glad it was over two episodes so as to not rush. The western family response unfortunately is not uncommon, especially from mid 2000s and earlier. I am a western male who has been with my Filipina wife since I was 20, I'm now 44. We met here at university, she arrived in Australia in the 80s when her family emigrated. I have had family ask things like "but won't you get sick of rice every night". I had other guys say things like "yuck, you're sick, what's wrong with you?" Or "what's wrong with dating your own kind?". In the end love wins though.

Fascinating story! I'm so impressed with Marisol! By the way, the probable reason she didn't have fractures/death from the bridge fall is she was drugged, so she didn't *resist* what was happening meaning she was loose and not tense/stiff. A friend of my family was unfortunately into heavy drug use and got into a bad car accident where his car flipped over at least 3 times! He had no injuries. This is again because he was drugged, so he (unwittingly) allowed his body to be tossed around like a lifeless doll and just go with the flow. Also, just to be clear about U.S. immigration which can be a news story... we would LOVE people with Marisol's attitude, people who look to do things for themselves, who aren't looking for a handout. The problem is MOST are not like that, and a never ending tidal wave flood of immigrants looking for handouts, and voting that into law, would just ruin things for everyone.

That is anecdotal at best blaming immigrants for taking handouts. 45 years of experience in working around immigrants doing all the task White males partially don't want to do because attractive White women won't date them knowing they work these jobs with zero career path, but pay well enough.
Otherwise I do agree with what you said.

    Hi, Pea!
    Such a sad, horrible story.
I'm glad that she not only survived, but was finally able to leave that abusive jerk behind. Not every woman is so lucky. I've never understood men who felt such an overwhelming desire to dominate women to the point of being abusive instead of cherishing women. So it's great that she was able to escape her ex and find her happy ending.
I want to say that I feel that I must apologize for the foreign men who visit the Philippines. They seem to have left a bad impression on you (and other Filipinas) if you think that we all want to have sex on the first date. Not all of us are like that. I'm not.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I think you should get to know each other at least a little before hopping into bed together. Sex should be more than just a casual, physical-only thing. Don't get me wrong! Sex is great! But I believe that it's better if there's a real emotional connection between the couple. It's hard to have such a connection upon first meeting. If that's all a guy wants, there are women they can pay for such a "hookup."
    Meh.
    What do I know?
I certainly don't know anything about love, romance, or relationships, not having had the chance to experience them.
    Humbug.
