- Corgi Major No. 1127 Simon Snorkel Fire Engine, released in September 1964, was an excellent replica of one of the newest types of fire engines used in authentic actions at the time of the toy's launch. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You can turn on subtitles in your language with the action commentary in the video.
Initially packed in a polystyrene base, with a very attractive box lid, with excellent graphics of the device in action. Production ended in 1976. The boom rises and lowers thanks to a beautifully designed pantograph mechanism that keeps the yellow cage level. The model features four extendable stabilizing legs. My copy was in good technical condition. It had a broken axis of rotation on the boom. I repaired this complicated mechanism by adding a special pin, which was threaded by me. I also made a fireman's set based on a figure of a man. I made him a helmet of polyurethane resin and painted the whole thing in the color of the firemen's team - black. To complete the impression of authenticity, I also made a box with a polystyrene bottom. I managed to get a similar polystyrene in a friendly shop, after some mechanism. Mettoy made some very good models in the Corgi Major range, this being a replica of a Bedford chassis-based appliance. These complicated models were expensive. Great restoration job 👍
I bought mine new in 1977 for US $16 which seemed like a huge sum at the time!
I’ve watched about a half dozen restoration videos of all different guys but I’d have to say the Paul Restorer is the king of all of them

Amazing job! This was one of my favorite Corgi toys when I was a kid. Yeah, I'm an old guy; born in 1954. (I'm an American, by the way.) You're right about the snorkel truck being a new type of fire engine back then, at least in the USA. Looking at the release date, I probably got it in the first year or two of its release. I've seen several of my old toys on this channel. Thanks for the videos! They bring back some fond memories.

One of, if not your best work yet Paul!!! Amazing job as usual, paint work and details. To getting the boom arms working again then reinventing the peg on the swivel base, added a basket hose operator. Topped off with the box art and custom styrofoam.

Awsome job. I actually got one of them from work today. I good condition only smal things missing and The firemen in the back. But for only 10 swedish krona is good. And where i live there is a guy that sell these kind of Rubber to all kinds of wheels.

Looks great. I had one of these that needed to be restored I traded it to the gentleman in Beautiful Las Vegas Nevada, and in all honestly I'm glad I did it looks like a lot of work though it also looks like a lot of reward

Do you remember the tiny little Matchbox cars too ? You could get yellow assembled tracks that they did vertical circle loops on…And the Hot Wheels make too. With orange track.
