The Rolls was always my favourite Thunderbirds vehicles. It could fly, float and had that concealed machine gun. I love the restoration that you have achieved with this.

I love this, I was given one dack in the 60's, it's still in the box, never played with it. I'm 61 now and back then Aussie boy did not have pink toys. could have sold it for $2,500.oo AUD 5 years ago.
Thats cool mate, did he get the pink colour right? Looks a little pale to me.. I guess its a bonus it was "taboo" for us to have pink toys otherwise it definitely wouldn't still be in the box!
I agree with others… I was expecting a Louder 'Barbie Doll Pink'. Yours comes off as more 'Baby Doll Pink! (Or Silly Putty Colored!) Fun none the less! 🤓
F.A.B. I recall getting home with mine as a kid. Opening it up and being crestfallen as it was shocking pink. I knew the correct colour from Annuals and trade cards. But I know newer versions are the correct colour. Such great work here Paul.
I can hear "Parker, stop that escaping car!" "Yes, m' lady!" You showed so many different skills in restoring this beauty to showroom finish! What a gem!
My 50th anniversary lady penelopies, car, is an awsome chrome, pink. Mint condition with box, an gadgets. Pretty expensive to get, now. Great purchase as well as my purchases. Love, Your restoration, I couldn't do, that. Michael.
Thank you for a very entertaining video. Many years ago I worked at Mellor Coach Craft in Rochdale and we were tasked with restoring the six wheeled Rolls Royce FAB 1, which had originally been made to promote the TV series and films. The work was done for a Dental Surgeon in Carlisle who owned the "Cars of the Stars" museum in the Lake District, we had a great and memorable time doing this . A local engineering apprentice training centre applied to us to rework the cars mechanicals, enthusiastic though they were they managed to re-install the twin steer incorrectly so when you turned the steering to the left or irght it went the the opposite way, this along with incorrectly refitting the auoto transmission selector so forward meant reverse made moving it into the paint shop somewhat interesting. Fortunately our engineering department sorted it all out. The paint colour was matched to a remaining panel and was then listed as "Penelope Pink" . We went on to restore many important cars for this client and the memories are legion.
A FAB restoration. Had the pleasure of going to an Evening with Gerry Anderson. He spoke about his career and there was a quite large, if I remember correctly, model of Fab 1 to illustrate his talk and the Thunderbird years. We should also remember that people like Derek Meddings worked on the special effects before going on to things like Star Wars. Back when even puppets in children programmes smoked cigarettes and drank! Apparently Lew Grade who ran the ATV television company in the UK that picked up Thunderbirds started the relationship by giving Gerry a suitcase of cash to finance production. Bit off piste with some of the information above but hopefully of interest to some. Again a restoration that does you great credit.
Superb work! The colour is far nearer the original studio prop than the toy ever was. I have three of these - my childhood one, which is the version you have here; a slightly later one, with studded wheel hubs, and one my brother found in a yard sale, which has chromed plastic hubs, which are very close to the ones on the 'real' vehicle. The pink colour is different on all three.
Aw, man! I used to watch THUNDERBIRDS as a kid. The assorted aircraft, spacecraft, and orbiting space station were boss. And so was the Rolls-Royce FAB-1 owned by Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and driven by her favorite chauffeur Parker. He always called her “M’Lady.” This was an excellent series. The remarkable special visual effects were supervised by Derek Meddings. The miniature models were superlative. Paul Restorer busted his backside restoring the FAB-1. It DID fire a quartet of rearward missiles from the trunk and a missile from the front once the grille was opened. The restoration was excellent!
What a daunting undertaking. So many pieces were missing, especially the enormous roof! Rocket systems, and fiddly devices in the chassis all needing to be dealt with...which you did patiently with aplomb! Each task in it's sequence marching towards the final, IMPRESSIVE outcome!! Maestro, BRAVO!!❤❤
I remember that pink Roller from my childhood, but also saw a full-size one on a flatbed truck going down the motorway in the UK many years later while I was driving.
Terrific! Absolutely brilliant, in fact......... that had just about everything 👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻 When I had one of these as a young shaver, my missiles would've lasted, oh, I dunno...... 5 minutes?
I had the bigger version of this car as a kid and when playing on a sand hill one day, she got buried somehow and I never saw her again...😥 Thanks for the memories with this one!!!
Very good eye for detail, good restore. Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, the makers of Thunderbirds, Stingray, Joe 90, etc had a studio virtually next door to where I worked in Slough, UK. Thanks for posting the more intricate models 👍
This was my favorite toy as a small boy, saved up for it with pennies paid for weeding our lawns in our Melbourne, Australia suburban home, my first purchase ever, with money I'd earned myself! But my recollection of the colors of Lady P and Parker was not with that warm brown. I think Parker's uniform was dark grey and Lady P might have had a pink or bright light green pantsuit with an off-white fur coat, but less sure about that than Parker, but I do remember her pale yellow hair. And Parker's eyes definitely weren't round black! Both figures were painted with matt/semi-gloss paint, which surprised me even as a child, I knew that hobby colors came in both matt and gloss, and to see toy figures not painted in high gloss was a pleasant surprise. The tip of the missile wasn't dark pink, it was bright vermillion rubber plastic. The car was shipped a light candy pink, and I saw later versions had a slightly darker candy pink, but since I was such a fan of the show, and eagerly awaited my copy of TV-21 each week, I knew it was the wrong shade of pink when I got it home new, and at the ripe old age of eight years old, I repainted myself a slightly more salmon pink to match the "real" one, not as "warm-yellow-white" as yours though. Your box colors weren't right either to those in Australia, and pity you couldn't or didn't chrome or silver the hubs. Later models had plastic hubs with chromed color on them I think maybe, less accurate, but flashier, and maybe cheaper to produce than the metal hubs. Fun memories from your hard work here though, thank you!
@@PaulRestorer I would never have thought of that phrase and had a childhood memory if you hadn't taken the time to make and share your video. You are "cool" Paul, thank you.
