My predictions and opinions on them: Fawful(Bowser's Minions) He will probably be an easy boss since i will Overlevel my squad to death. As for the boss himself... I can't remember anything i liked about him. He's probably going to be a neutral boss like Bowser's castle level for me. Best Fitness Friends(Bowser Jr's Journey): I know literally nothing about him!(i didn't watch a full walkthrough of this game) It's probably going to be like Fawful, but better when i eventualy fight him/them.(i don't know) Dreamy Bowser: Oh my god his music is just amazing! The fight actualy might be easy for me since i'm gonna Overlevel my Mario Bros. to death. Probably going to take like 4-5 turns to beat him. Maybe 2-3 with the Farmer Boots.(but i don't remember how to get them) Shiny RoboBowser: This one is probably going to be fun. I mean, i do(unofficialy) consider PJ my favorite M and L game. My opinions are maybe or maybe not going to turn official when i play it. Now to the ones i actualy did fight... 3: Cackletta's Soul: the attacks are a bit mixed. There's the fire attck which is hard to dogde and it's annoying, but there's also the "Stop time and shoot laser from the eyes" attack which is very cool. If you are Overleveld when the heart is exposed you can destroy it in like 2 turns.(at least i think i did in 1st playthrough) Overall, a kinda balanced boss. SSS does have some avarage bosses, i should say. If i did a ranking on them, it would be kinda hard to because they're kinda tied.(maybe) 2: Princess and Elder Princess Shroob: They are just a bit better than Cackleeta's Soul. They are kinda average as well. You can just spam Mix Flowers because of that GODLIKE Ulti-Free Bagde and healing items. But they're not so easy. Some of the attacks are Literally impossible to dogde so after some hits, you have to use a healing item. That's probably their biggest flaw. The attacks. 1: Dark Bowser: I don't have much of a opinion besides "i know this boss is good" but i mean, the music is good, the Dark Minions attack isn't infuriating at worst, and decent at best, the Final Punches are kinda cool... This is overall a enjoyable fight. Maybe i would like these fights more i was a pro, but as a noob to casual, when i watch a final boss fight, it's more fun than actualy playing.(except for Princess and Elder Princess Shroob, they are kinda boring)
I honestly thought Dreamy Bowser was pretty tough, especially with it healing and the hammer attack, if anything I thought Dark Bowser was easier. Also the remake's version of Cackletta's theme was honestly really great and in the remake the fight was certainly immersive.
I don’t think Dreamy Bowser heals enough imo, I think he is Pretty easy in that regard, but I do think Dark Bowser is easy as well, also Cackletta’s Soul is now worse than Dreamy Bowser imo, which is kind of a shame but I like Dreamy Bowser more
@@ShroobInvader I thought he healed enough, not as hard as Cackletta's soul with it's healing but I'm fine with that. I will say though for Dark bowser that the Fawful Core section of the fight is more challenging.
In my Opinion Dreamy Bowser is really annoying. In my First playthrough he wasn't that difficult, but on my second playthrough he healed far to many Times! It always took me two to three Turns to kill all the enemys he had summoned, but then he would just summon them again! He healed four Times in a row befor using any other Attack.
Idk if it’s just me but the last time I replayed it, I had to grind to level 40 and even then I needed to use the best attack badges to quickly kill dark fawful
Everything you explained about Elder Princess Shroob is exactly for Dark Bowser & Dark Star Core for me. I can perfectly run no-damage runs and just beat it in a few turns because I played it so much.
Yeah, for me personally I actually think that Shiny RoboBowser will hold up the best compared to every final boss I talked about, I could be wrong but it’s probably the most likely for me
@@ShroobInvader I'm not sure between Shiny RoboBowser and Dreamy Bowser for me, but I recently replayed Dream Team and did quite well on it, just refinished Superstar Saga DX and now planning Partners in Time next and then Paper Jam.
@@ShroobInvader Fun mention: I actually did something once to Shiny RoboBowser for fun, I brought in the shiny and non-shiny version cards that lowers Bowser's level by 5 and kept spamming it until he was Level 1 and then looked at how much damage I did lol, I just squashed him like an ant.
Finally, someone talks about Paper Jam's great final boss. Paper Jam was a bit lacking overall and definitely could've done more after looking back on it, but I still definitely enjoyed some parts of it, and not just because it was my first Mario & Luigi game Here's my list: 7. Fawful (Pretty much everything you said applies here) 6. Dreamy Bowser (I found it as sorta wasted potential since Bowser was practically a god, and the music definitely improved the atmosphere, but him pigging out felt very silly for a final boss) 5. Best Fitness Friends (Haven't seen much of the fight, and also haven't played it, so take this entry with a grain of salt, but it definitely looks fun) 4. Cackletta's Soul 3. Elder Princess Shroob (Both of these I have the same things to say on. Both of them are pretty damn difficult bosses that make for at least solid final bosses. I put Elder Princess Shroob over Cackletta's Soul simply because I like the music more) 2. Shiny Robobowser (Bias? Maybe. But this was an incredible way to end my first Mario & Luigi game. The music, the atmosphere, the boss design, the attacks, it was all great) 1. Dark Bowser/Dark Star Core (It's hard to top this one, huh? But it deserves all its spotlight, as it's such a great ending. The attacks fit so well, the atmosphere is perfect, and the music...we all know In The Final/The Grand Finale is an amazing theme) Final Thoughts: Our lists are nearly identical. Huh
Yeah, I wish more people could enjoy Paper jam. It wasn't great, but I liked it when I played it. It wasn't my favorite, then when I played it, before everyone's opinion of it changed mine but I still had fun and thought it was at worst decent. I should play it again.
I think Antasma should've been on the list as he is the final boss for the dream world and the fight is really awesome. Has really cool attacks and amazing music!
Elder Princess Shroobs theme "Anothers Requiem" Is easily the most underrated song in the series. I'd easily put it up there with the absolute masterpeice that is "In the final" (finals still on top obviously.)
I think Bowser‘s minions is a very fun side mode. It has an interesting story and even adds new things to the main plot of the story you didn’t know before. The gameplay isn’t the best but it is engaging and fun at times in my opinion. Bowser jrs journey is better but I still think Bowser‘s minions deserves some credit. Most people don’t even talk about the sidenote which really is a shame because in my opinion they really are gems that should be talked about more especially juniors journey
Another thing that can be annoying (albeit kinda nitpicking) with the Bowser’s Minions Fawful battle is that when the Mechafawfuls call for reinforcements, they don’t say anything, it’s just a “...” box. Or do they expect us to think that they’re just yelling *”PERIOD PERIOD PERIOD”?*
Dark Bowser is my favorite boss, ALREADY for the music, then the attacks are cool, the semi-obvious twist is creative and the fact that bowser says SHOWTIME like a normal fight started, instead of the evil laugh of the boss battle start, is just AMAZING that was the best start to the fight, but just what Bowser says is great: "Listen up, you're saying the kingdom will vanish? *Not today, this kingdom is all mine, so YOU vanish* It just shows how Bowser isn't afraid of anything, not even of a dark himself, he knows to be the only and the best koopa king, and he shows that, whit all of the minions you car recruit in the adventure,... And the phrase whit Mario and Luigi is also cool, and the final punch makes you feel powerful!
i was expecting to see so much out of the paper jam fight but my experience with the M&L series just kind of caused me to accidentally dominate him without getting to see all of his attacks in my first play through
@@ShroobInvader it's moderately large, I did these calculations based on your example of dreamy bowzer as reference. Mario does 35* damage constant damage on average around level 43 While Mario at recommend level of 37 does about 28* damage constant I unfortunately do not know the damage constants in dream team so I cannot provide exact numbers but it's a decently large difference, it's like the difference between marios damage and luigis damage. For numbers in formula: (Pow 140* lvl43 / def 343)= 35* attack constant (Pow 130*lvl37 / def 343) = 28* attack constant
The thing I love about Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story's last boss is that it breaks the formula of having to fight possessed Bowser at the very end of the game. I thought that that aspect makes the whole game unique, plot wise.
Honestly, if you want a better version of Cackletta's Soul and you want your criteria of a great final boss to be filled completely... play the original game on GBA. The composition from Yoko Shimomura (of Street Fighter & Kingdom Hearts fame) is a LOT better there than in the remake (at least in my opinion) and the fight looks like it takes place IN HELL.
I actually found some interesting tips with Dreamy Bowser. First off, as you probably are aware, his right arm will block any attacks aimed at the head unless you take it out first. What you may not know is that Dreamy Bowser's head is weak to jump attacks. Yep, Bye Bye Cannon will do A LOT more damage to Dreamy Bowser than Zee Egg since it is considered a jump attack.
Dreamy and dark bowser had way more potential then they used. Dreamy bowser was a literal GOD, but he didnt really do anything, he only summoned food and a ship. Same with dark bowser, but he was done way better, I mean dark bowser had more attacks, but there should have been more, more dark power stufff and showing that he can destroy the world.
Elder Princess Shroob has always been the hardest one for me. But it might be because I was under leveled in partners in time lol. It’s also my favorite because of the atmosphere and music.
Coming from a fellow Mario & Luigi TH-camr, I can see where you are going. I agree with a lot of things mentioned on this list. Each final boss has something special about it. But, it doesn’t mean every single final boss is good. I understand where you’re coming from.
Couldn't help but noticed how you never went out of your way to mention the first phases of Cackletta's Soul (Bowletta) or Shiny Robobowser (Double Bowsers)
Ah, but you also referred to Dreamy Bowser as easy, yet counted him in the list. And it's because of Bowletta that you transition into Cackletta's Soul with only 1 HP.
Last semester, I was really struggling in my chemistry class. I studied extremely hard for the final, and when I took the final, I listened to the Bowser Juniors Journey final boss theme. It was such a fun way to take the final (I passed by the way :) )
Elder Princess shroob will always be the most terrifying boss I fought. When she roars in the beginning that scared me so much bro and she was so difficult
What I like about Dark Bowser and Dark Fawful/Dark Star Core, is that everything in this fight determines the world's fate. Basically if Mario, Luigi, Starlow, and Bowser lost, it would literally be the end of the franchise.
So, I did a video similar to this, ranking the 13 final (and significant penultimate) bosses of the Mario RPGs. This includes All the Paper Mario and M&L games, and also Super Mario RPG. In this video, I determined rankings based on scores out of 10 for 3 categories: Difficulty, Theme, and Aesthetics. For me, Cackletta's Soul (Original version, definitely) was my #1. The theme got a slightly lower score but I love The Last Cackletta as a piece of music (again, the original version of the theme. New one doesn't sound as good, in my opinion). Aesthetically, I think the original version looked a lot more intimidating and had a really good design with the two arms and head, which have to be beat for the heart to be accessed, at which point (in original), you have three turns to deal as much damage to the heart as possible. Attacks anywhere else will be healed by the heart instantly. As for difficulty, you said it yourself, this final boss is hard! I spent about 5 hours on it the first time I beat it, 2 hours the next time, and then on my recent LP of the game, it took me only one hour. I find myself constantly replaying this battle though, as I really enjoyed learning her attack patterns and trying to defeat her with less deaths each time. I even bumped Mario's Speed stat high enough that Cackletta's Soul didn't get the first turn! I also have to disagree with the part of Elder Princess Shroob (EPS) being the better Cackletta's Soul. I have serious problems with EPS (probably because I used the Wii U's manual save restoration points to cheat my way through the game and then arrived at EPS at a stupidly low level) but hear me out: Firstly, Cackletta's Arm attacks were annoying as hell, I know, but EPS's Leg Spin attack is worse! Cackletta's Soul give indication if you need to jump or not by using her eyes. EPS's leg spins get increasingly faster to a point where I can't press the buttons fast enough to jump over the tentacles and, because I was massively under levelled, I pretty much die straight away if this happens so have to restore the save point to before that attack... Secondly, I liked that Cackletta's Soul had 3 parts to defeat, then the weak point was exposed. Now, I know you only have to defeat the crown to be able to attack EPS fully, but in total, EPS has 7 parts! 4 arms, 1 crown, 1 legs, and her main self. This is a lot of parts to have to focus on and I don't like that about it. Also, at the time, I rated The Last Cackletta as a better piece than Final Battle (EPS) in the music department because EPS starts really epic but then kind of slows down in the song, which shouldn't really happen in a final boss fight. The tune should be consistently fast-paced and EPS's tune just doesn't keep a rhythm or flow going for fast-paced final boss theme. Now though, I really like EPS's theme, so I'd put them about even. My next dislike is that most of Cackletta's Soul's battle takes place just on the one screen. Whereas EPS is so huge that the battle comes across two screens, so using/dodging some attacks isn't the easiest in that void between the two screens... My final dislike of EPS is a dislike in general with PIT, which is having to control 4 characters instead of two. The most powerful attack, Mix Flower, is really not that easy when switching between button mashing (one of my weaknesses in general) certain buttons for not 2, but 4 characters! It's a bit much. I prefer being able to focus on just A and B buttons. My close 2nd place was Super Dimentio from Super Paper Mario, which was thwarted by it's low difficulty rating of 2/10 because SPM just is an easy game (which I actually like about the game, personally) I think 3rd was Dark Bowser/Dark Star Core The worst is Sticker Star Bowser for... obvious reasons, right? If you read this, thanks for reading my justification for why I think Cackletta's Soul is actually one of, if not *the* best final boss fight in a Mario RPG
Idk, at the very least there is the best fitness friends which was great, and I don’t personally mind too much if they still make the boss themes sound amazing and them having great attacks
For me personally I feel like this is the list people have, if there was an average on everyone’s rankings this would be it, obviously not mocking your opinion cause if think all of it makes sense
My personal problem with it is that it is extremely easy on hard mode, if it was easy on normal mode fine, but it felt like a breeze on hard mode where every boss in the game definitely felt harder
@@ShroobInvader true, btw my list isn't official because I played Dream Team and Paper Jam long time ago. After I play these games again maybe my list will change.
When you stop and think about it, when bowser gets the dream stone's power, he can wish mario and luigi out of existence, and there'd be mo way to stop him from doing so, but he just doesn't.
I think the stone isn’t actually capable of that. It requires dream energy to charge and most of the wishes seemed to disappear like dreams after bowser is defeated. Plus, bowser only swallowed the fragments so it may have only allowed access to powers from the dream world similar to dreamy luigi
My video suggestion is ranking top 10 mario and luigi music tracks any mario and luigi game would be good also I have a question and that is why are there no mario and luigi superstar saga countdowns? Is it because you haven't played it?
Well I was going to but I didn’t have motivation to do it yet and I REALLY wanted to talk about the series as a whole, and I have played it just not the original
Can you also do one for the paper mario series. Btw, dreamy bowser is my second favorite because bowser was a badass. I would also add antasma on the list because he was a dream world final boss and will always be my favorite. My most favorite final paper mario boss is King Olly
I did yes and I didn’t put Antasma on there just because it wasn’t the final final boss, and he would maybe get like a number 5 or 6 cause he is also easy, at the very least he is lower than elder Princess Shroob to me
@@ShroobInvader here is my ranking for the final bosses for both series mario and luigi series: 8. fawful (bowsers minions) 7. robbo shinny bowser (paper jam) 6. cackletta (superstar saga)6 5. elder princess shroob (partners in time) 4. best fitness friends (bowser jrs journey) 3. Dark bowser (bowser inside story) 2. Dreamy bowser (Dream Team) 1. Antasma (Dream Team) Dreamy bowser and dark bowser came close though paper mario series: 6. shiny bowser (sticker star) 5. black bowser (color splash) 4. bowser (paper mario 64) 3. Shadow queen (thousand year door) 2. Super dimentio (super paper mario) 1. King Olly (Origami King)
I've recently replayed super star saga and inside story and yeah dark bowser is my personal favorite boss battle in the entire series other then antasma from dream team it was the first mario and luigi game i played and i still have a soft spot for it
Now I’m curious, if you played Bowser Jr.’s Journey, then you must’ve played all of the 3DS version of Bowser’s Inside Story. If so, what did you think of the Dark Bowser\Dark Fawful fight? Anything different?
If you've played that Elder Shroob fight so much, I think it means you really like Partners in Time. If that's true, it's a sentiment I can get behind!
can i ask what editor or whatever you use to make you're videos cause i really want to make my own videos covering the mario and luigi series but idk what to use
I have one complaint about the dark bowser boss, when I was young I could not beat it because of one thing. I could not mash fast enough. I had to get older and figure out how to mash fast enough to be able to beat it. But it is a great fight and I have some way over leveled characters and I can beat it in 1 attack in each phase.
Honestly the only gripe I had with Dark bowser/dark star was I think it is too easy. Well at the time it was the only one I had completed and replayed it a bit. I'm not talking about boswer, but mario and luigi's section was too easy, since the mirror bro attack is SO BROKEN. Normally I would 2 cycle it, but I only one cycled it the last time I played since it is an infinite attack. I don't know what it is like in the 3ds version as chopper bros or whatever Luigi's advanced hammer was called was nerfed in the 3ds version of superstar, but the remakes always changed up the bros attacks efficiency, as I remember using different Bros attacks for the original compared to the 3ds remake. Also I think the OG superstar saga's Cakletta is better than the remake.
My favorite final boss is Dark Bowser, partially because I haven't beaten Partners in Time and Dream Team yet, and partially because the fight is pretty cool.
honestly cackletta's soul and dark bowser are INCREDIBLY EASY! like if you ever played a M&L game like ever they should not be a problem unless it's your first time,
Hey Shroob I agree with you that Dreamy Bowser is the easiest final boss despite Dream Team being on the harder side of Mario and Luigi games. I beat this boss at least 100 times legitimately, then I decided to see what I can use to defeat him and holy crap not only is it easy but it's super exploitable. If you have at least 2 time stopping badge effects already you can kill him in about 8 attacks (4 from each bro) and he won't deal any damage. I tried other effects too like pow increase or lowering defense and those make him die around like 4 attacks around level 70.
Antasma would definitely be a more climactic final boss, but then we would miss out on Dreamy Bowser’s music: Adventure’s end. This track is in my top 5 from the entire m&l series.
@@bird_obsession here’s how it could change: Bowser doesn’t betray antasma, but we still get the fight with antasma before bowser. However, after bowser is beaten, ANTASMA betrays bowser, absorbs his power and the dream stone and becomes unstoppable, creating a misty palace above bowsers castle. Where red and green go up and defeat him once and for all. Then the ending plays like it does normally
@@Marshadow01 Personally I disagree. If Antasma betrayed Bowser then it would only show that Bowser learned absolutely nothing from the previous games where he was constantly being used by other villains and betrayed by others. Bowser betraying Antasma and stealing his spot as the final boss is very fitting since Bowser has learned from his past experiences that he should never trust other villains or work with them since it will only lead to him getting used or betrayed, so he decided to turn the tables on Antasma before it was too late. It really shows how Bowser has evolved throughout the series from being a joke to slowly becoming more and more competent as a villain.
Haven't really fought Elder Princess Shroob, Cackletta's Soul, or Best Fitness Friends, but I have fought everyone else and loved doing so. I'd honestly go so far to say that most of the final bosses in Mario and Luigi are better than mainstream Mario final bosses. Don't know how many agree with me on that though. I know Charriii5 doesn't due to him claiming that Cackletta's Soul and Elder Princess Shroob were bad fights.
@@ShroobInvader Thank you. I actually have a comment in his Everything Wrong With Partners in Time video debunking the whole argument of Elder Princess Shroob having too much health after a little road rage. Here's the link to the video if you want to see: th-cam.com/video/UjG772j5288/w-d-xo.html
The one bad thing about Partners in Time’s final boss imo is Shrowser, first what kind of a name is that, second why does it exist besides making every M and L game have a phase of the final boss be Bowser, everyone would’ve been fine if it ended with Elder Princess Shroob, and third is we can only counter attack it, in conclusion this thing shouldn’t exist
I agree that the Dreamy Bowser was really easy I went to check my stats on my half-broken 3ds and Mario was level 33 with Star Boots, Star Hammer, Star Wear, and Guard Shell DX Luigi was level 34 with Star Boots, Star Hammer, Star Wear, Guard Shell DX, and 1-up Gloves Oh and Final Antasma was a complete pushover
I've always felt bad for Bowletta in Bowser's Minions. She is forced to be humiliated and her ego is shattered by who she assumes is still her friend and helper. She is then attacked by Mario and Luigi until all she can do is call for a bomb to knock them unconscious and then they literally destroy her soul from inside her body. And people will say that I shouldn't feel bad for her because she is evil or because she is a narcissist but I do. I'd feel horrible if my friend betrayed me and didn't acknowledge me and so would you.
@@ShroobInvader But imagine that in your head right now. Popple with his new aforementioned Rookies, battling you on top of a giant final-location-esque tower.
I was, unfortunately, super over-leveled for Bowser and Paper Bowser. I had both Marios and Luigi at level 60, so I instant killed all of the phases, even shiny robo Bowser died in 2 attacks
I’d say 1. Dreamy Bowser 2. Shiny Bowser 3. Dark Bowser 4. Cacletta’s Soul (Excluding Princess Shroob but it honestly would probably be a pretty long and tedious fight judging by what I’ve seen) (Hard to decide between 3 and 4 because of the problems that I have with dark bowser such as Mario and Luigi taking up most of the final boss and bowser’s section being too short. Also as a kid I had a ton of problems trying to inhale the dark star so I had to watch the cutscene like 20 times)
It’s nigh impossible to rank any of these fights… They each have their own audience that first played them, their own appeal, difficulty, design, tone, music, etc. While I LOVE them all, here’s my ranking No.5: Cacklettas Soul No.4: Elder Princess Shroob No.3: Shiny RoboBowser No.2: Dreamy Bowser No.1: Dark Star Core
Woah your list and mine are really different. I only counted the actual final bosses and not the side adventure final bosses. My list goes if to count the side adventure final bosses- 7: Dreamy bowser 6: Fawful from Bowsers Minions 5: Shiny Bowser 4: whatever that one bowser junior’s journey one was 3: Elder Princess Shroob 2: Cackletta’s soul 1: obviously, dark bowser and fawful. Well there are some similarities like what number one is but other than that we are different.
@@GenesisSonicN64Mario mainly because fawful from bowsers minion doesn’t have a feast in the middle of the fight. Nah I’m kidding, the reason I ranked dreamy bowser so low is because bowser being the antagonist again is so boring when antasma could have easily been the final boss. Dreamy bowser could have easily been antasma and bowser into one boss too. It’s just such a letdown.
my only real problom for dream teams final boss is i feal they could have done so much more like bowser traps you in a cursed dream were you battle enemies but if you do it slow a black hole sucks you into bits and when i feel that way it kind of ruins it
@@_Agent10How is this a comparison to the beginning of the game? He only had one attack back there. He has around 5-6 attacks in his final fight, plus multiple turns later on.
Bowser’s Minions placement I agree. For Dream Team, I’d place it in sixth but for different reasons, because there are a lot of things that Dreamy Bowser does that don’t belong in a fight like this. Also while I agree that it’s very easy, that is extremely overleveled for that fight, I’m not even close to Rainbow Rank, and it’s somewhat easy. Superstar Saga’s boss I liked, kind of too 3 for me. Never got to Elder Princess Shroob, given I’m not even at Shroob Castle because I am severely underleveled. Good job not including Shrowser, like, why is that the final obstacle?! For Jr’s journey, oh look, an actual boss fight, and it’s a good one! Paper Jam’s final boss is awesome, only falls just short to beat Inside Story for me. Inside Story is awesome with the boss fight, I think I’ll let you explain that.
I disagree with saying Dreamy Bowser is the easiest, when Shiny RoboBowser exists along with OP Trio Attacks as well as Paper Mario in general. Trio Meteor itself can actually OHKO SRB (once you get past his armor). I also feel Elder Princess Shroob is pretty easy, or at least has the easiest attacks to dodge. The only real issue is the massive amount of HP she has (and the fact that you fight her younger sister, and her previous form right before. And Cackletta Soul in the original GBA title imo is the easiest of them all (the remake did definitely buff her up considerably though).
now i'm trying to remember what my setup was.. all i remember is that it used the one item that lets Bowser take 2 turns in a row in order to do 1000 damage in 2 hits
I just have to say it but, Drak bowser/Fawful bug is really not that difficult and I have a good reason. So the first time I played the game and fought the final boss I was technically under leveled. This was by about 2 levels maybe. With this I 2 cycled fawful bug. Mario only died once and Luigi sat there like a tank. I really think it was just all right. Also dreamy bowser definitely deserved better.
I can't even bring myself to rank all these, but i'm gonna post some thoughts about each of them Fawful: this is not a final boss. easy worst of the list. B.F.F.: This was impressive, especially for the auto-play style. It managed to be really intense and climactic. I wouldn't rate it over any of the mainline final boss fights, but it's really good. Cackletta's Soul: The main thing it has is challenge. Though, it's mostly just for the first few attempts, because you're forced to 1 HP and Cackletta gets to attack multiple times before you get a chance to move. It's a lot of fun, but I would say it gets outdone by the others in the series, much like Superstar Saga itself in my opinion. Elder Princess Shroob: This fight absolutely nails the climactic and melancholy tone, and is a very fun fight, but I do have an issue with it, which is that she has tons of HP, but not enough attack. She's a pretty HP-spongy boss. Her attacks are good, and decently difficult to dodge, but don't do all that much damage (at least when I played, but I doubt my setup affected this that much). I would like to see her rebalanced with more attack and slightly less HP. Dark Bowser: #1 for sure. Dark Bowser has some really good attacks and is fun to fight, but then the real final boss begins with the Dark Star, which is a lot of fun to fight, with multiple phases itself, and has the right amount of difficulty. The tone is set beautifully for this battle, and complete with an amazing soundtrack. Dreamy Bowser: Sort of the opposite problem of Elder Princess, Dreamy Bowser has some good difficult attacks that do quite a bit of damage, but he's taken out in just a couple cycles. Despite that, a lot of fun to fight. Definitely recommend going in slightly underleveled. Shiny RoboBowser: By far the best fight in Paper Jam. Personally not in my top 3, but I have no problems with it. Nothing that really stands out about it either, out of the other final bosses. It's just a final boss done well.
Besides bowser's minions and Bowser Jr's game on the 3ds I have fought these final bosses numerous times and I say that while Shinyrobo Bowser is amusing he's my least favorite because I am almost at level 60 everytime I get to him so I always beat him super fast, I didn't care for Dreamy Bowser either, but the remaning 3 are all pretty good I don't have a ranking for them though. I love Bowser alot but I prefer games where even though he's in it that he's not the final boss to mix things up
@@ShroobInvader yeah it's no walk in the park to get to that level either, I mean by level 40 it takes over 10 normal enemy fights just to go up an inch, I was doing these fights just so I could get a rank S on the battle medly so I went through the boring, time consuming, iritating quest to get to that level and I went through the medly and got my S rank, but when I was done with that I made my way to the final battle and defeated Shinyrobo Bowser in about 5 minutes. I decided never to delete that file because I never want to go through all that hell of having to get that level rank ever again. At least I have the Dry Bowser boss fight to keep me entertained while I keep the save file
@@ShroobInvader Really? Eh, we have different opinions on that, but that's cool! I didn't know someone felt that way! Maybe I just like the GBA soundfront a lot. To be fair, the new version is more than just guitars, it's more orchestral. A more fitting theme, perhaps!
I have to disagree about you saying Bowser's Minions doesn't really have a final boss. Because it is the final level, has unique music compared to all the other bosses, (Like all final bosses should) and is the longest boss in the game that also leads to the credits. All final bosses in the series do that, so though he may not seem like a final boss, he has all the boxes checked for a final boss. But great list though I just wanted to put this out though.
If we talk about the original versions of SS and BIS, i think Cackletta's Soul goes up. Cackletta's soul in 2D looks so manic and insane, and the gba music is amazing to me. As for Dark Bowser... I hate the fight. Yes, the fight has some amazing mechanics and a killer theme... But the button mashing fucking sucks for me. I am a horrible button masher and it feels like the game is punishing me for not having those skills. If I can't get past the first phase, i can't put it high enough. Side note: Yoko Shimomura's composition for the series is amazing. If she sounds familiar, she did the soundtracks for the Kingdom Hearts series
I do talk about the original version of BiS cause that’s the one I talk about (I’ve played both) but I’ve only played the remake of SSS, but I personally am a good button masher so I get why it doesn’t bother me, if your not, there are some attacks you are not gonna have fun with so it’s understandable
...Dreamy Bowser and Shiny Robobowser are the only 2 I have any experience with, why? I forgot how Dark Bowser plays, and have just one-shot him and Cackletta's Soul. Also I don't hate myself enough to play through PiT, I really don't like PiT

My predictions and opinions on them:
Fawful(Bowser's Minions) He will probably be an easy boss since i will Overlevel my squad to death. As for the boss himself... I can't remember anything i liked about him. He's probably going to be a neutral boss like Bowser's castle level for me.
Best Fitness Friends(Bowser Jr's Journey): I know literally nothing about him!(i didn't watch a full walkthrough of this game) It's probably going to be like Fawful, but better when i eventualy fight him/them.(i don't know)
Dreamy Bowser: Oh my god his music is just amazing! The fight actualy might be easy for me since i'm gonna Overlevel my Mario Bros. to death. Probably going to take like 4-5 turns to beat him. Maybe 2-3 with the Farmer Boots.(but i don't remember how to get them)
Shiny RoboBowser: This one is probably going to be fun.
If i did a ranking on them, it would be kinda hard to because they're kinda tied.(maybe)
2: Princess and Elder Princess Shroob: They are just a bit better than Cackleeta's Soul.

Yeah that’s a good idea I eventually will do that

@@ShroobInvader Next video: Ranking all paper mario final bosses
Dreamy bowser was probably the hardest for me
Everything you explained about Elder Princess Shroob is exactly for Dark Bowser & Dark Star Core for me.
Oh that’s fun and yeah those 2 bosses are pretty fun even though I mean you know which one I like better lol
LOL
The Dark Bowser minion and Dark Fawful chase attacks are the best attacks in the series
I agree with the first attack and while I don’t think the second attack is one of the best in the series, I do agree that it is pretty good
I agree because it captures the hopelessness of the situation when fighting dark star fawful and dark bowser
Why don't you like Antasma's theme..
@@elliotfong8794 its just not nearly up to par with the other final boss themes, but the regular antasma theme and dead antasma theme are good ngl
Finally, someone talks about Paper Jam's great final boss. Paper Jam was a bit lacking overall and definitely could've done more after looking back on it, but I still definitely enjoyed some parts of it, and not just because it was my first Mario & Luigi game
Here's my list:
7. Fawful (Pretty much everything you said applies here)
6. Dreamy Bowser (I found it as sorta wasted potential since Bowser was practically a god, and the music definitely improved the atmosphere, but him pigging out felt very silly for a final boss)
5. Best Fitness Friends (Haven't seen much of the fight, and also haven't played it, so take this entry with a grain of salt, but it definitely looks fun)
4. Cackletta's Soul
3. Elder Princess Shroob (Both of these I have the same things to say on. Both of them are pretty damn difficult bosses that make for at least solid final bosses. I put Elder Princess Shroob over Cackletta's Soul simply because I like the music more)
2. Shiny Robobowser (Bias? Maybe. But this was an incredible way to end my first Mario & Luigi game. The music, the atmosphere, the boss design, the attacks, it was all great)
1. Dark Bowser/Dark Star Core (It's hard to top this one, huh? But it deserves all its spotlight, as it's such a great ending. The attacks fit so well, the atmosphere is perfect, and the music...we all know In The Final/The Grand Finale is an amazing theme)
Final Thoughts: Our lists are nearly identical. Huh
Our lists are extremely similiar lol
Yeah, I wish more people could enjoy Paper jam. It wasn't great, but I liked it when I played it. It wasn't my favorite, then when I played it, before everyone's opinion of it changed mine but I still had fun and thought it was at worst decent. I should play it again.
I loved this boss a lot.
I think Antasma should've been on the list as he is the final boss for the dream world and the fight is really awesome. Has really cool attacks and amazing music!
That’s fair and I do like it more that Dreamy Bowser, but it wouldn’t do that well anyway on the list so
Elder Princess Shroobs theme "Anothers Requiem" Is easily the most underrated song in the series. I'd easily put it up there with the absolute masterpeice that is "In the final" (finals still on top obviously.)
I need to see that one, I kinda forgot if
@ShroobInvader WHY DID YOU BRING THE SHROOB ONE DOWN CAUSE YOU WERE TOO GOOD
THAT IS LIKE SAYING FNAF UCN IS EASY CAUSE PEOPLE HAVE BEATEN 50/20
I think Bowser‘s minions is a very fun side mode. It has an interesting story and even adds new things to the main plot of the story you didn’t know before. The gameplay isn’t the best but it is engaging and fun at times in my opinion. Bowser jrs journey is better but I still think Bowser‘s minions deserves some credit. Most people don’t even talk about the sidenote which really is a shame because in my opinion they really are gems that should be talked about more especially juniors journey
I mean the problem for me with this game isn't the gameplay, I just don't think the game is very replayable
LOL that’s like the ultimate nit pick
@@ShroobInvader I know, but I just don’t know why that bothers me as much as it does...

@@ShroobInvader your welcome and its true
Dark Bowser is my favorite boss, ALREADY for the music, then the attacks are cool, the semi-obvious twist is creative and the fact that bowser says SHOWTIME like a normal fight started, instead of the evil laugh of the boss battle start, is just AMAZING that was the best start to the fight, but just what Bowser says is great:
"Listen up, you're saying the kingdom will vanish?
*Not today, this kingdom is all mine, so YOU vanish*
It just shows how Bowser isn't afraid of anything, not even of a dark himself, he knows to be the only and the best koopa king, and he shows that, whit all of the minions you car recruit in the adventure,...
And the phrase whit Mario and Luigi is also cool, and the final punch makes you feel powerful!
i was expecting to see so much out of the paper jam fight but my experience with the M&L series just kind of caused me to accidentally dominate him without getting to see all of his attacks in my first play through
🤣 rip
Damage formula takes level into account for damage, so even if the stat increase is only minor, thats still (pow*lvl/ enemy def)* attack multiplier
I never knew that, is it drastic or is it small
@@ShroobInvader it's moderately large, I did these calculations based on your example of dreamy bowzer as reference.
Mario does 35* damage constant damage on average around level 43
While Mario at recommend level of 37 does about 28* damage constant
I unfortunately do not know the damage constants in dream team so I cannot provide exact numbers but it's a decently large difference, it's like the difference between marios damage and luigis damage.
For numbers in formula:
(Pow 140* lvl43 / def 343)= 35* attack constant
(Pow 130*lvl37 / def 343) = 28* attack constant
So glad i found your channel bro. Literally been binge watching your channel
🙏
I think it's super interesting that fawful has fawful robot prototypes this could implied fawful has been planning on betraying cackletta
I’m not sure if that entirely means that
If that was the case, I think fawful would have just left cackletta to die instead of save her soul essence and give her bowser as a host.
Dark Bowser was WAYYYY easier than Dreamy Bowser for me... And I fought him when I was EIGHT, while I finished Dream Team when I was 13... Lmao
Fair enough lol
Try doing it when your 3DS has a temperamental battery connection that shuts off the system if you look at it wrong.
@@enderger5308 What kind of 3ds do you have where it shuts off like that? Do you not charge it often?
Dreamy and dark bowser had way more potential then they used. Dreamy bowser was a literal GOD, but he didnt really do anything, he only summoned food and a ship. Same with dark bowser, but he was done way better, I mean dark bowser had more attacks, but there should have been more, more dark power stufff and showing that he can destroy the world.
Yeah there definitely was some missed potential with both of those fights
@@ShroobInvader I mean, he could have just wished mariovand luigi dead, cause he had the dream stone, the THING THAT CAN GRANT YOU EVERY WISH

Ok that sounds awesome ngl
Elder Princess Shroob has always been the hardest one for me. But it might be because I was under leveled in partners in time lol. It’s also my favorite because of the atmosphere and music.
Yeah those factors make that final boss really fun
Coming from a fellow Mario & Luigi TH-camr, I can see where you are going. I agree with a lot of things mentioned on this list. Each final boss has something special about it. But, it doesn’t mean every single final boss is good. I understand where you’re coming from.
I do have a big final boss bias so I do like every single one 🤣, but thanks for understanding lol
@@ShroobInvader Of course!
Couldn't help but noticed how you never went out of your way to mention the first phases of Cackletta's Soul (Bowletta) or Shiny Robobowser (Double Bowsers)
Both are really easy and don’t factor too much into my opinion so I didn’t mention them too much
Ah, but you also referred to Dreamy Bowser as easy, yet counted him in the list. And it's because of Bowletta that you transition into Cackletta's Soul with only 1 HP.
Last semester, I was really struggling in my chemistry class. I studied extremely hard for the final, and when I took the final, I listened to the Bowser Juniors Journey final boss theme. It was such a fun way to take the final (I passed by the way :) )
Now that we're getting some recognition of the Bowser Jr's journey and Bowser's minions I think you should do more videos on them
Elder Princess shroob will always be the most terrifying boss I fought.
My close 2nd place was Super Dimentio from Super Paper Mario, which was thwarted by it's low difficulty rating of 2/10 because SPM just is an easy game (which I actually like about the game, personally)
I think 3rd was Dark Bowser/Dark Star Core
The worst is Sticker Star Bowser for... obvious reasons, right?
If you read this, thanks for reading my justification for why I think Cackletta's Soul is actually one of, if not *the* best final boss fight in a Mario RPG

Also I think the OG superstar saga's Cakletta is better than the remake.
that's fair and good for the info :D
Mario and luigi bowser's inside story is one of my favorite games even though i havent played it

Bowser doesn’t betray antasma, but we still get the fight with antasma before bowser.
Oh I 100% agree with that
@@ShroobInvader Thank you. I actually have a comment in his Everything Wrong With Partners in Time video debunking the whole argument of Elder Princess Shroob having too much health after a little road rage.

Finally lets a go
Lol first one here
@@trickywickbow5536 God damn it, you beat me by two seconds.

@@BeryAb that’s cos I’m notified
The one bad thing about Partners in Time’s final boss imo is Shrowser, first what kind of a name is that, second why does it exist besides making every M and L game have a phase of the final boss be Bowser, everyone would’ve been fine if it ended with Elder Princess Shroob, and third is we can only counter attack it, in conclusion this thing shouldn’t exist
At some point you should make a Mario RPGs list
He needs to play all of them first.
I really wish I had Bowser’s inside story.
I agree that the Dreamy Bowser was really easy
I went to check my stats on my half-broken 3ds and
Mario was level 33 with Star Boots, Star Hammer, Star Wear, and Guard Shell DX
Luigi was level 34 with Star Boots, Star Hammer, Star Wear, Guard Shell DX, and 1-up Gloves
Oh and Final Antasma was a complete pushover
Yep definitely somewhat disappointing, but not bad obviously
I've always felt bad for Bowletta in Bowser's Minions. She is forced to be humiliated and her ego is shattered by who she assumes is still her friend and helper. She is then attacked by Mario and Luigi until all she can do is call for a bomb to knock them unconscious and then they literally destroy her soul from inside her body.
And people will say that I shouldn't feel bad for her because she is evil or because she is a narcissist but I do. I'd feel horrible if my friend betrayed me and didn't acknowledge me and so would you.
The best final boss is Popple + Rookie Yoob + Paper Rookie Yoob.
This is very true
@@ShroobInvader But imagine that in your head right now. Popple with his new aforementioned Rookies, battling you on top of a giant final-location-esque tower.
O-O dats too good for us mortals
I was, unfortunately, super over-leveled for Bowser and Paper Bowser. I had both Marios and Luigi at level 60, so I instant killed all of the phases, even shiny robo Bowser died in 2 attacks
What I’d dream bowser is still tired imean think of all the things bowser has been through no one can be complete it doesn’t mater who you are
I had massive trouble with dreamy bowser but thats because I was underleveled. I was like level 35 for that fight.
"This boss is only number 4 because I played it too much"
Honestly you should probably rate bosses based on the first playthrough
The only thing sadder than titanic was mr beans car getting crushed
This is so sad
Yeah
8:13 poor luigi
I’d say
1. Dreamy Bowser
2. Shiny Bowser
3. Dark Bowser
4. Cacletta’s Soul
(Excluding Princess Shroob but it honestly would probably be a pretty long and tedious fight judging by what I’ve seen)
(Hard to decide between 3 and 4 because of the problems that I have with dark bowser such as Mario and Luigi taking up most of the final boss and bowser’s section being too short. Also as a kid I had a ton of problems trying to inhale the dark star so I had to watch the cutscene like 20 times)
Good list :D
Anyways, Shrowser is the true final boss of Partners in Time
It’s nigh impossible to rank any of these fights…
They each have their own audience that first played them, their own appeal, difficulty, design, tone, music, etc.
While I LOVE them all, here’s my ranking
No.5: Cacklettas Soul
No.4: Elder Princess Shroob
No.3: Shiny RoboBowser
No.2: Dreamy Bowser
No.1: Dark Star Core
I completely agree with this (aside from Bowser’s Minions) these fights all are pretty great do it was really hard to rank all of them
@@ShroobInvader yeah, the two side modes weren't spectacular, but thanks for agreeing
Woah your list and mine are really different. I only counted the actual final bosses and not the side adventure final bosses.
My list goes if to count the side adventure final bosses-
7: Dreamy bowser
6: Fawful from Bowsers Minions
5: Shiny Bowser
4: whatever that one bowser junior’s journey one was
3: Elder Princess Shroob
2: Cackletta’s soul
1: obviously, dark bowser and fawful.
Well there are some similarities like what number one is but other than that we are different.
I am going to now point out that Dark Bowser isn’t my number 1 anymore o-o so rip the similarities lol
@@ShroobInvader NOOOOOOOOOO
I'm surprised you ranked Dreamy Bowser lower than BM Fawful, any reason in particular?
@@GenesisSonicN64Mario mainly because fawful from bowsers minion doesn’t have a feast in the middle of the fight. Nah I’m kidding, the reason I ranked dreamy bowser so low is because bowser being the antagonist again is so boring when antasma could have easily been the final boss. Dreamy bowser could have easily been antasma and bowser into one boss too. It’s just such a letdown.
Funny thing is,Dreamy Bowser is supossed to be Bowsers Ultimate Powerpeak, but in the Game hes just......meh. I mean he is a literal fucking GOD
In The Final is also known as The Grand Finale
I agree Paper jam and Bowser's inside story final boss are the best the theme is also so nice so I enjoyed those the most
Lore of Ranking the Final Bosses from the Mario and Luigi Series momentum 100
my only real problom for dream teams final boss is i feal they could have done so much more like bowser traps you in a cursed dream were you battle enemies but if you do it slow a black hole sucks you into bits and when i feel that way it kind of ruins it
Idk, I do think that just the existence of Antasma as a boss fight does ruin my opinion a little bit because I do consider that the better boss fight
@@ShroobInvader ya but the antasma boss fight feels almost the same from when you first fought him at the begining of the game
@@_Agent10How is this a comparison to the beginning of the game? He only had one attack back there. He has around 5-6 attacks in his final fight, plus multiple turns later on.
Unpopular opinion: Bowletta and Cackletta Soul is my favorite final boss in the series, and imo are much more balanced and fun in the remake
Princess Shroob: I have played it so much that i can doge every attack ...so its not that good... wtf😂
And Cackletta Soul in the original GBA title imo is the easiest of them all (the remake did definitely buff her up considerably though).
me who figured out how to beat dark Bowser in... 3 turns flat?
That’s genuinely impressive good job lol
now i'm trying to remember what my setup was.. all i remember is that it used the one item that lets Bowser take 2 turns in a row in order to do 1000 damage in 2 hits
I do think Dreamy Bowser is now above cackletta’s soul at this point and Dark Bowser isn’t my fav anymore, something else is 👀
I can't even bring myself to rank all these, but i'm gonna post some thoughts about each of them
Fawful: this is not a final boss. easy worst of the list.
Yup, I think we can all agree dark bowser is the best one
Besides bowser's minions and Bowser Jr's game on the 3ds I have fought these final bosses numerous times and I say that while Shinyrobo Bowser is amusing he's my least favorite because I am almost at level 60 everytime I get to him so I always beat him super fast, I didn't care for Dreamy Bowser either, but the remaning 3 are all pretty good I don't have a ranking for them though. I love Bowser alot but I prefer games where even though he's in it that he's not the final boss to mix things up
LEVEL 60?!?!?!?! HOLY CRAP, I was at level 40 for every single character so it wasn’t that hard but it wasn’t completely easy to me
@@ShroobInvader yeah it's no walk in the park to get to that level either, I mean by level 40 it takes over 10 normal enemy fights just to go up an inch, I was doing these fights just so I could get a rank S on the battle medly so I went through the boring, time consuming, iritating quest to get to that level and I went through the medly and got my S rank, but when I was done with that I made my way to the final battle and defeated Shinyrobo Bowser in about 5 minutes. I decided never to delete that file because I never want to go through all that hell of having to get that level rank ever again.
At least I have the Dry Bowser boss fight to keep me entertained while I keep the save file
Jesus I could never lol
Here's my list
7: Fawul
6:Cakletas soul
5:Deamry bowser
4:jrs journey
3:princess shrom
2:Dark bowser
1:Paperrobo
TERRIBLE "FiNaL bOoS":SROWSER
Yes bad final boss is correct and finally someone who has Paper jam bowser as their favorite final boss lol
If you thought Cackletta's theme wasn't memorable, have you tried the original version? It's far better.
For her theme yes I’ve heard of it and it’s worse, I think almost every theme from the original was better in the remake
@@ShroobInvader Really? Eh, we have different opinions on that, but that's cool! I didn't know someone felt that way! Maybe I just like the GBA soundfront a lot. To be fair, the new version is more than just guitars, it's more orchestral. A more fitting theme, perhaps!
dreamy bowser
normal mode : 😂
hard mode : 😭
My fav is dark fawfal and bowser
Dat is a very good final boss :D
Dreamy bowser is my favorite final boss.
Noice :D
My ranking:
7) Fawful (BM)
6) Best fitness friends (BJJ)
5) Dreamy bowser (DT)
4) Dark bowser/ dark star core (Bis
3) Cackletta’s soul (ss)
2) Elder princess shroob (Pit)
1) Shiny robobowser (PJ)
I have to disagree about you saying Bowser's Minions doesn't really have a final boss. Because it is the final level, has unique music compared to all the other bosses, (Like all final bosses should) and is the longest boss in the game that also leads to the credits. All final bosses in the series do that, so though he may not seem like a final boss, he has all the boxes checked for a final boss. But great list though I just wanted to put this out though.
I was at lvl 29 when fighting cackletta soul lol
So it was a hard challenge
Please play through pit its great
Shiny robo bowser is way to hard if you don't grind, which you won't do because no random encounters
…there aren’t any random encounters in the Mario and Luigi Games
I just fight every enemy I see and I usually have enough power to beat the final boss in each game except PiT bc I didn't play that
Shiny robo Bowser's the best no contest only challenging boss on repeat playthroughs
