What I ate in my One Meal a Day!

  • To make shorts I need time to film, edit, etc. which means often, the short I share on any given day was filmed in the past to give me working time. This is probably obvious, but I wanted to be sure it was clear (may not align daily with what I share on IG stories - which is usually same day) Bottom line - I’m not trying to trick anyone :)
If you have issue with the way I eat, I share my thoughts about it at length

I need to clear a few things up: the coffee was purchased and prepared before guests arrived *not consumed!!!!* I didn’t drink ANY of it until after I ate the pistachios and cheese as it was of course not fasting if I did.
I had roasted cauliflower…. Underneath sauces. I mix it with the pasta.
I’m not Italian and don’t speak it…. But dang your bread is good!
This is one day out of many! I enjoy eating a variety and it varies day to day.

I’m Muslim and we do intermittent fasting for Ramadan (no eating or drinking from daybreak to sundown for 30 days) but this looks insane. Our meals during nighttime hours are usually carefully planned to have enough water and energy.
Fasting will sometimes make people sick the first day or so (which means you could be harming yourself if you continue to fast that day and Muslims are supposed to stop for the day if that happens).
For those who can fast (ex no health problems) it’s actually very healthy the way we do it.
Breaking your fast with what looks to be about 5+ shots of liquor is probably a terrible idea

Judging by the comments, a lot of people don’t understand that different eating styles work better for different people. Yes we are all human and have the same basic systems, but the way our systems work (how our pancreas functions, blood sugar levels, digestion, etc.) can vary greatly, usually depending on genetics. Intermittent fasting works for some people, having a bunch of small meals throughout the day works for others. Just because it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

It's not really disordered eating, it's ordered... just sparce. I'm pretty sure there are proven benefits to intermittent fasting and ketosis, but that doesn't mean it's good for everyone and I'm almost certain a 21 hour fast isn't healthy if you do it everyday that's just malnourishment. She basically filled herself with carbs and sugar so this isn't exactly a good representation of fasting lol.
Personally i tried doing a 14 hour fast a few days a week and found it benefited me by regulating my eating patterns, minimizing snacking and made me more conscious of what kind of food I ate. Now I go 12 hours every night without eating just by natural habit and I feel a lot more energetic and I sleep better.

So to the coffee, and Baileys. It’s a no for me during fast. I can’t imagine caffeine in my body, when I’m running on excess body fat. The anxiety is unreal. And the acid reflux sucks. One or two cups black, maybe if I’m exhausted. Now regarding the fasting. We eat WAY too much. I normally live off of one meal a day. Today I ate 3 hard boiled eggs, 2 slices of bread, and one bowl of Lipton noodles. I’m not very up for food today. I ate all that after 8pm and before 11pm. I probably won’t eat again until tomorrow night. I am not weak, or hungry. I am perfectly fine. Food is delicious and fun. But no eating one meal a day is not unhealthy. Tell that to third world countries. Tell that to religions that observe fasting. Tell that to the people on earth for thousands of years, who ate grains and beans for supper and nothing else. It’s not a big deal. We’re just over eaters.
