I upgraded from an iPhone X to an iPhone 15 Pro and the only really apparent difference was the the 120Hz display and better camera quality. Everything else really didn't feel that significant. I honestly really miss the design of the iPhone X, it felt so good in the hand.
Yeah they are releasing just same iPhones every year only changing the camera alignment, changing the iPhone body and little bit faster processor nothing else, newer iPhones only slightly outperforms then older iPhones, Apple is just fooling people and increasing the price every year

I still love using my xs max. Still snappy for daily taskss, and I don't really game on my phone. Obviously the 15 pro max is a lot better but I am going to hold out for another year.

I switched from my 13 pro max and went back to my XS max only big difference I notice is the pro motion display but that’s about it. XS max is still a beast!
@@promo2099 that’s because it is bigger & heavier. It gets uncomfortable to hold or even to just carry around in your pocket, unlike the xs max I feel that it is the perfect size and the rounded edges are just a tad bit more comfortable to deal with over the square design…
Had my XS Max from new and battery health is 76%, but still runs perfectly and lasts well, too. Just received a 14 Pro Max and did a test like this between the two and the difference in performance was minimal for day-to-day usage. Besides the obvious differences like 5G and 120 Hz refresh, I’m not too impressed.
If possible, do a comparison test between the iPhone XS Max and an Android phone released in 2018, such as the Galaxy Note 9 for example. It would be much more relevant.
I am thinking of grabbing a second hand XS Max to upgrade from a Iphone 6 Plus LOLZ ( the speakers in the 6 Plus are starting to play up and cant be replaced) Price for a 256GB model is around $450 AUD worth it ? I think when people want to say much faster they can use ‘’much faster’’ words when you see very very big difference for example 10 seconds or something like that but right now i am watching your review and you are opening games and millisecond later old phone opens and you are like ‘’ much faster ‘’ . Xs max is my very first iphone and never coming back to android again. Still using this as my backup phone. It's 2024 and 12pro is my primary phone. Don't have any reason yet to get the 15😁
I have xs max with a warn down battery 🔋 at 79% capacity I just bought the 15 pro max same phone only difference is the display, the camera, & longer battery 🔋 life more durable & doesn’t over heat as much I could have saved & just swapped out the battery but I got it for a lick so I ain’t complaining too much plus needed more space from 64gb to 256gb this should last me hopefully 10 years it the goal 🥶
Never mentioned 3d touch, and its of course lacking in 15pm so everything haptic-related is slower. And xs max can be on 16.7 which is still slightly more efficient than 17.4.1. And then yeah, almost 10x difference in price
Nah Nick... no lag at all during Call of Duty... I'm a legendary ranked player here... Using XS Max with 81% battery health... Only disadvantage for CoD is we couldn't take advantage of the Max frame rate option of the game..... the phone does have some stutter while switching apps etc... still a pretty good phone but definitely upgrading soon
Apple is very good with longevity. I’m trying to stick with my 12 pro max and it’s still performing perfectly. I mainly want to upgrade because “new and shiny” but this comparison shows that the XS can still stand shoulder to Shoulder with the current phones.

Bought an APPLE refurbished iPhone 13 Pro Max for my wife to replace her XS Max and with it now in my hands almost thinking that it could be my daily driver rather than my 13 mini. Still a very nice display and the size is better for viewing content. Only problem is the battery - the main reason for her new iPhone - and the Face ID has been disabled. Probably too much of an expense to get repaired. Oh well.

iPhone 15 doesn't even support BOTH physical SIM and eSIM. It's either 100% eSIM (US model) or 100% physical SIM (Hong Kong / China variant) which is stupid. That's why I'm still holding on to my XS Max because I need BOTH.
I feel like the apps you test aren’t intensive enough anymore. Temple Run and Subway Surfer can run in a potato.. I’d say modernize your app sequence in some way so we can really start to see a difference because it’s definitely there if you look for it..
I have xs max and 14 pro max and the xs max feels so much better: lighter thinner better overall design and ergonomic. Sorry but iPhone 14 pro max feels like an old brick in the hand and in the pocket. I remember the time when a new model had to be lighter and thinner . What happened to use that we accept to pay so much for such heavy equipment compared to the old ones ?
How in the world did the XS Max get better bandwidth than the 15 Pro Max? And it wasn't even close lol - you should have done that test again or twice more to see if it was just a fluke. But I think the XS Max won this battle just simply based on how old it is it performed very well. If you're not a phone gamer you're more than set.
I believe the Face ID is a little different. I had an iPhone X and moved to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. The 15 will read Face ID from the horizontal position, but the X (and XS) will not.

Great neck! I still have my iPhone Xs Max and it works smoothly for my day to day use battery health is 81% but I’m using 16.6.1 software version and haven’t yet updated to the latest version because i think it will slow down my battery performance should i update to 17.1.2 version ?
iPhone 15 pro max is have a major network chip issue, most of the people don't even notice this problem because they can still use the Wi-Fi or sim card but the speed is significantly reduced. I have personally gone through three 15 pro max and they always fail network hardware test. I would suggest you to get your phone tested.
My iPhone XS Max gets warm and then freezes during use. I have try a lot of solutions, restarting the phone, deleting apps and other videos just to get enough storage, but no solution. Is there any help please?
doing an entire firmware restore via iTunes on your computer and start from scratch, not from a back up. Yeah you’ll lose some things but that’s important stuff (iMessage, photos, contacts, mail) can be downloaded from iCloud

Got my first Iphone xs max in 2022 and really can't see the point of upgrading to a newer version. Yeah my battery dropped to 79%, yeah 60hz display, camera is not ass. but dated. But for what I use my prone: calls (duh), social media scroling, ocasional photos, music playback. All that makes an upgrading hardly justifiable.
RAM doesn't give you a higher GPU score . Adreno GPUs have always been better than Apple GPUs. Why most of myrican tech TH-camr (except MKBHD) actually technologically disabled?
I have both phones and I can say that the camera difference is not that big, yes it is normal for the iPhone 15 pro MAX to take clearer pictures, but if you, as a person, are not passionate about taking pictures, it would be worth it to make a change.
Apple should make devices with 6.1 inch display( non-pro with 90Hz display), 6.5 inch display( pro motion display with 120Hz display) & 6.8 inch display(ultra device with 120 or 144Hz display). It's my opinion.

I’m still using an iPhone 11. It’s fast and works great. What’s killing me is it’s my only device and the battery is absolutely shot. The Apple Store near me I can’t go to and mailing it in isn’t practical. I’m gonna have to buy a new phone, all over a battery. I wish we had a sealed design that could somehow have it to where a user could atleast replace the battery with no particular skills. I’d love to use this phone til it’s slow and unstable. I spent $900 on it cash in 2019 so it’s not like they didn’t get their moneys worth out of me. I’m afraid I’ll get stuck having to buy a cheap android because of this one issue. I’m still hoping maybe I can get lucky and somehow get an official replacement same day. The Apple Store near me is in a bad area in a mall where gangs wait and rob people. For as much as I want a new battery I’m not willing to do all that.

3:21 that's not true. My Samsung Note9 is just as fast if not as fast as it was when it was new. Drawback is software and battery which ages and makes it feel slow.
I don’t know about how different the s9 and note 9 are. But I was using an s9 for a while (9months) when my phone broke. And it was pretty laggy. Like the keyboard would constantly lag, and there was quite a bit of stuttering doing non-intensive stuff, like scrolling.

I've been using it for 3years and I've made tons of tweaking in it to give the best performance it can. I wish Samsung did atleast 50% of those and the experience would've been way better.

Longevity with apple is very good, my iPhone 7 Plus vs my 15 Pro isn't that even big of a difference in terms of speed. Obviously modern IOS kills the battery but usable with a powerbank nontheless.
7 Plus is considered very weak at the present time. 3 RAM is suffocating the device, and the 15 update has poor performance with it, and even if you do not update the device, it is finished.

It is instantly noticeable but given it's age this is not a big deal but a newer $1000 iPhone with 60hz like iPhone 15 Plus is not acceptable

Ouch, I haven't experienced this much other than it be slow to restart and a couple of app crashes here and there

I switched to the iPhone 12 from the XR and the only chip improvement I got was 2 seconds faster but everything else is way better tho
Got my first Iphone xs max in 2022 and really can't see the point of upgrading to a newer version. Yeah my battery dropped to 79%, yeah 60hz display, camera is not ass. but dated. But for what I use my prone: calls (duh), social media scroling, ocasional photos, music playback. All that makes an upgrading hardly justifiable.

RAM doesn't give you a higher GPU score . Adreno GPUs have always been better than Apple GPUs. Why most of myrican tech TH-camr (except MKBHD) actually technologically disabled?
I have both phones and I can say that the camera difference is not that big, yes it is normal for the iPhone 15 pro MAX to take clearer pictures, but if you, as a person, are not passionate about taking pictures, it would be worth it to make a change.

Apple should make devices with 6.1 inch display( non-pro with 90Hz display), 6.5 inch display( pro motion display with 120Hz display) & 6.8 inch display(ultra device with 120 or 144Hz display). It's my opinion.

I’m still using an iPhone 11. It’s fast and works great. What’s killing me is it’s my only device and the battery is absolutely shot. The Apple Store near me I can’t go to and mailing it in isn’t practical.
I’m gonna have to buy a new phone, all over a battery. I wish we had a sealed design that could somehow have it to where a user could atleast replace the battery with no particular skills. I’d love to use this phone til it’s slow and unstable. I spent $900 on it cash in 2019 so it’s not like they didn’t get their moneys worth out of me.
I’m afraid I’ll get stuck having to buy a cheap android because of this one issue. I’m still hoping maybe I can get lucky and somehow get an official replacement same day.
The Apple Store near me is in a bad area in a mall where gangs wait and rob people. For as much as I want a new battery I’m not willing to do all that.

For gaming like pubg and bgmi = smooth but go heatup too fast and fps go from 60 to 40 instantly and when u enemy come get stuck too , so not good forgaming my mean 50 50

3:21 that's not true. My Samsung Note9 is just as fast if not as fast as it was when it was new. Drawback is software and battery which ages and makes it feel slow.
I don’t know about how different the s9 and note 9 are. But I was using an s9 for a while (9months) when my phone broke. And it was pretty laggy. Like the keyboard would constantly lag, and there was quite a bit of stuttering doing non-intensive stuff, like scrolling.
@@broskibrobro1278 There is a difference between they way you use your phone and the way I use it. I just know the pros and cons of my phone, it's capabilities and it's weaknesses. I've been using it for 3years and I've made tons of tweaking in it to give the best performance it can. I wish Samsung did atleast 50% of those and the experience would've been way better.

Longevity with apple is very good, my iPhone 7 Plus vs my 15 Pro isn't that even big of a difference in terms of speed. Obviously modern IOS kills the battery but usable with a powerbank nontheless.
7 Plus is considered very weak at the present time. 3 RAM is suffocating the device, and the 15 update has poor performance with it, and even if you do not update the device, it is finished.
