  • It takes a lot for me to fall in love with a leave-in hair product like the Olaplex No 9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum, as my fine hair is easily weighed down and prone to frizz. How did Olaplex perform, how does it work and do I prefer it over The Inkey List Hyaluronic Hair Serum?

    As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and about well aging, I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    I'm a fan of Olaplex. I use the shampoo, conditioner and No. 6 leave in bond smoother. When I run out of my current purple shampoo, I'll buy the Olaplex purple shampoo. This serum sounds interesting. Do you need it if you use the No. 6 bond smoother? If I didn't have a nearly full bottle of another brand's clarifying shampoo, I'd buy the new Olaplex one.

      No, I don't think you need to use everything Olaplex - a good mixture of a few Olaplex and a few budget ones are probably best. Have you tried No 3?

    • @susanmcf1
      @susanmcf1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoctorAnne I did try No. 3. I don't have patience with leave on then wash out masks.

      @@susanmcf1 I totally get that. I apply mine before I work out, that keeps the hairs out of my face and I need to wash m hair afterwards anyway, this does the trick.

      Is friction damage from clothing during winter time (wool pullovers and scarfs) included in "pollution"? Does No.9 protect the hair from that? Thank you!

    • @Olaplex
      @Olaplex ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkredrose7683 Friction would fall along the line of mechanical damage and not pollution. However, N°.9 will help keep your hair moisturized which can help with static from friction.❤❤

    Hi Dr Anne I think this is probably a good alternative to their cream product for fine hair. I myself have course/curly hair that needs a lot of moisture/taming/frizz control, so it's not for me. I use oils and creams even in the warmer months, as my hair drinks them in without leaving any notable residue. That of course will not suit finer hair types and lightweight serums are a better texture for those hair types. My hair drinks in product and I usually have to apply a fairly generous amount, so truthfully I tend to use a mixture of higher end and affordable products on it. The items I use up quickly are where I spend less and reserve more budget for treatments etc. I'm pleased you're happy with your purchase and feel it is beneficial for your hair needs. Best wishes.

      Yes, hair that isn't as fine will probably need something else, or use this and an oil on top. This here is perfect for fine hair.

    May I ask if we can use hair detanglers instead of heat protection spray ? I notice both have a silicone or protein and some oil . Heat protectants are rarely available in my country, can any other hair product be an alternative?
    also I wish you can make a future video about premature hair greying and if using any products or supplements can help reduce it. Thank you 🙏

      I have a video on grey hair already, you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/e6thHN-LhLY/w-d-xo.html
      And in regards to heat protectant vs detanglers - different ingredients are responsible for each, so you can't use any detangler. I think LabMuffinBeauty has a video on heat protectants and what you should be looking for.

    At $28 a pop, Olaplex may be worth a try. But at $41 a pop + tax, which is how much they cost in Canada, nope...no way!

    Liebe Dr. Anne. Da Sie die Person sind, der ich in Sachen Kosmetik am meisten traue, bitte ich Sie um Hilfe. Ich habe ein kleines Budget und mir davon olaplex 3,6 und 7 gekauft. Welche Inhaltsstoffe dürfen mein Shampoo, Conditioner, Maske und leave-in jetzt nicht enthalten um sie mit olaplex zu kombinieren. Ich kann mir leider nicht all die Produkte leisten. Ich bin Ihnen unglaublich dankbar für Ihre Antwort. Ganz liebe Grüße

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ich kombiniere mein Olaplex mit allem, was ich gerade so zur Hand habe an Shampoos, Conditioner und Haarölen, also würde ich mir da keine großen Gedanken machen. Und wenn man den maximalen Benefit von Olaplex für möglichst wenig Geld haben möchte, würde ich empfehlen, einfach nur Nr. 3 zu kaufen - der Rest ist gut, aber macht keinen so großen Unterschied im Vergleich zu Nr. 3.

      @@alexandrabohme887 Ich bin kein Haar-Experte, aber meiner Meinung nach wird hier viel Wirbel um etwas gemacht, was im Endeffekt keine Auswirkungen hat. Die frei verkäuflichen Dinge (egal ob im Laden oder beim Friseur) kann man gut kombinieren. Nur professionelle Treatments (also Keratin-Straightening beim Friseur oder so) sollte man mit seinem Friseur absprechen.
