  • It's the worst. Blurry or pixelated lines. There are lots of reasons why it happens, but if you know how to avoid them, and what to do to clean them up, your art will stay crisp and clean!

    Oooh thank you! Finally someone who said that it will always be pixelated in some way. Thought I did something wrong haha. I’m used to paint in mypaint on my computer and it has an infinite canvas and I usually don’t have any problem with pixelation with that program. This was the best explanation yet!

      Glad it was helpful! It's best to just know how it really is, and work to minimize it I say. I've always used raster programs (like photoshop) so I know it won't be like vectors. But I've also drawn traditionally for years, and if you zoom in on a drawing enough it'll look bad too! 😊

    Great video. Thank you. New to drawing and it is so helpful.
    2 things I wonder about his how to use the clone tool and also how do I put one item I drew into another drawing on another canvas?

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can actually drag the layers and while holding them use another finger to go to gallery/open another canvas and then drop the dragged layer or layers! I'll make a vid ;)

    I love your video👍✨ I have a question, right now I’m making a comic, and the size of canvas is 690 x 10226. It become pixel when I decrease the size of brush. Because I want to have clean line art. should I increase the DPI? Or change the brush? Or change the size of canvas? Thank you for reading my comments.

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I work mostly 3000x3000 pixels lately, definitely make your canvas bigger! The more you zoom it will look pixelated but with a bigger canvas it should look clean! Let me know how it goes! :)

    My issue is instead of solid pixels I'm getting fuzzy pixels like blurry/not fully opaque on the edging

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what looks clear at a normal viewing distance. It's normal when you get close. You have to have a brush that is a little soft, little hard.. 👍🏾

  • @maryseeker7590
    @maryseeker7590 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why does having a larger canvas means that there are less layers? Please explain more.

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Procreate aims to keep the app running as smoothly as possible. Bigger the screen = more work for the ipad. More laters = more work for the ipad. If they didn't regulate this, the app would just crash all the time 👍🏾

  • @TheSurrealist.
    @TheSurrealist. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    How do you get procreate to turn to landscape mode? Not the canvas but the tools on the sides and top? I can’t get mine to do that. I have a seventh gen iPad.

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was under the impression that any app that had a landscape mode would switch when turned landscape - my procreate does this automatically, the controls turn if I turn the iPad. Is this a procreate specific issue, or do other apps NOT turn landscape when you pivot your iPad?

    Thanks David.
    I find that when you import your graphics into a vector program - the pixelation effect goes away.
    Is this what you notice as well?

    • @drugfreedave
      @drugfreedave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does it? I guess it just depends on the quality of the exported art and how large it is. I had to give up on vectors, it's like drawing with my feet, way too frustrating.
