    ABOUT ME
    Hello and welcome to Color with Kendi! 😁
    I’m Ria, but I go by the artist name Kendi. I’m a TH-camr and Procreate artist based in Canada.
    My TH-cam channel, Color with Kendi, is my space to share fun and easy-to-follow Procreate art tutorials and tips for beginner and intermediate artists.
    How did I get here?
    My educational background is in nutrition, food engineering and chemical engineering. I’ve always loved art, but struggled to make it a lasting hobby until I discovered digital art in 2020. Since then, I’ve been utterly obsessed with the app, Procreate, and you’ll find me painting and sketching daily on my iPad.
    Art has brought so much joy and peace to my life and I want to share that joy with YOU. Color with Kendi is my space to do that.
    What do I do?
    Currently, I make art tutorials on TH-cam. My focus is on digital art made in Procreate, but since my earlier art experience was with traditional media such as watercolor and gouache, you’ll find that my digital art has more of a traditional media vibe.
    I also make custom Procreate brushes that are inspired by traditional media such as watercolor, gouache, ink, pencils and more. You can find those in my brushes shop: www.colorwithkendi.com/procre...
    My goal is to share content and products that can help you make art a lasting hobby that brings you joy!
    How did I come up with the name Color with Kendi?
    I started my digital art journey just a few months after adopting my younger cat, Kendi. He’s always around me and has been my “art buddy” since the day I started painting in Procreate. So in a sense I was always “coloring with Kendi”. That’s where the name for the channel was born and I wanted to use Kendi as my artist name to honor my cat.

    Do you love the convenience of creating art in Procreate, but miss the textures and visual interest of traditional media?
    If so, check out the custom brushes I use in my own work: www.colorwithkendi.com/procreate-brushes

    Great video. I create book covers for print. Typically, 6 x 6 and 8.5 x 11 inches. I work at full size and 300 DPI. I just started using Procreate.

    so basically move things in the sketch as much as you like but when you do the final lineart just don't or you'll end up a little blurry each time

      @colorwithkendi  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes. Try not to resize or move final parts of the illustration as much.

    Px or inch what should i use for web or digital illustration and other art? Also suggest me a canvas size that i can use my all art work…. Thanks ❤

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on what you're making your end result for. I made my for printing, so I go with inches, but if you're not planning to print you can go with px. I use 8 by 10 inches for all my illustrations.

    How can u smooth out lines that have already been made blurry?

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not possible in Procreate, based off what I know. You can do it in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop by exporting the Procreate canvas as a .PSD and then importing into Illustrator/Photoshop. th-cam.com/video/r6Ujh6tMimE/w-d-xo.html

    Hello can you please provide some suggestions as to what should I do to avoid pixelation in procreate I am working with a canvas size of 1128 x 191 pixels ?

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your canvas size is too small and that’s the reason for pixelation. I generally work at a much larger size (8 by 10 inches) and at a 300 dpi resolution setting. The smallest size I would use to avoid pixelation is at least 2000 px wide. And at 300 dpi.

      Oh but then what should I do if I want to design a 7 by 7 inch invite in procreate 😭

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      7 inch by 7 inch at 300 dpi is fine. That’s the equivalent of 2100 px by 2100 px.

    • @blablablahh612
      @blablablahh612 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for such a quick response sorry for pestering you again but like I still get pixelated strokes when I zoom just a little bit on a 7 by 7 inch canvas when using procreates sketching/calligraphy or line brushes any suggestions for that have watch numerous tutorials no luck with that though :/
      Also is it possible to make invites on bigger canvas size and then resize it on to a smaller sized canvas if yes then how ? (Again sorry for my silly questions but haven't found any tutorials to avoid pixelations and canvas resizing on TH-cam that worked for me or maybe it's just my fault :/

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Procreate is a pixel based program so at any size if you zoom in enough, you will see pixels. What matters more is how something prints.

  • @keerthana7353
    @keerthana7353 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My canvas size is 4K with 300 dpi, but some brushes still have very jagged pixel lines

    Why scale up do that Thievy of pixelate the image? Is no solutiion?

    • @colorwithkendi
      @colorwithkendi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Scaling up pixelates all images in any pixel based program such as Procreate. The only way to avoid pixelation is to use a vector based program if you do intend to scale up your design.

    How? My monoline is still losing quality at 10x10 inches

  • @eze3572
    @eze3572 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I understand quality is important but seems like the pixelation is so minimal it really doesn’t matter in my opinion.

    • @colorwithkendi

      When a piece is printed, it’s quite apparent.
