    It was so encouraging when you said pencil jitter is common - not just my problem, and it can be overcome with practice

      yep just practice! i find in the morning im more jittery especially if i haven't eaten yet - it's good to draw when you're hydrated and had some food, it calms your body down!

    Hi Shay. What DPI setting are you using in this video when you first select the canvas?

    • @pyao
      @pyao ปีที่แล้ว

      I know a lot of artists and myself use 300dpi! It makes a huge difference when you’re shrinking it down and you can always compress it more if needed ^^

    hi shay! is there a difference between resizing your canvas directly on procreate after completing your art or creating ANOTHER blank canvas with desired ratio/setting and then pasting the finished art (on 500x500) on there then shrinking it down to like 112x112, 28x28, etc?

    • @livvylag
      @livvylag ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i make a new one simply because i want to have the artwork in a ‘clean’ form too, not as pixelated as an 112 x 112, it helps with retouching in the smaller dimensions because i can go back and see what detail i need to add/remove on the smaller versions. hope that made sense

    • @pyao
      @pyao ปีที่แล้ว

      If you make it on a new one with higher dpi and shrink it it won’t be as muddy in smaller ratios ^^

    Thanks for the tutorial, is there any way to lock the zoom of the canvas? I find myself always zooming in and spending too much time on details and tiny errors that won't be noticeable at a 122 pixel size.

    Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to make animated emotes on procreate for twitch?

    • @VideogameShay

    I have an Apple pen but for some reason It won’t let me do any pressure

  • @kajsahallon
    @kajsahallon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would you say it works to start with an even bigger canvas, like 4000x4000, and shrink it to the 112, 56 and 28 after? If I want to have a good quality version of the emote for other use so to speak. Or would you not recommend making it bigger than 500x500? 😊

    • @nerdygeekyart
      @nerdygeekyart 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could make it a bit larger, but at sizes that big, some of the brushes might be super small, since they have a max size, and textures might start looking like repetitive patterns instead.

    • @VideogameShay
      @VideogameShay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was just about to comment this - @nerdygeekyart is absolutely correct! Going too large can start to alter the way the brushes work and isn't really recommended. You could go larger than 500px, I'd say the largest would be the 1000 px, but at that point you end up doing too much detail work that isn't needed for a small emote ^_^

      @@VideogameShay I've been using that size for emotes since I started making them and usually don't have any issues with layers and what not 😊
