Your situational awareness is impeccable. Your recognition of the defense on that milo convert was awesome. If only we all could punish defenses of synthetics the way you did.
You are truly the best, Al. You helped me so much when I was back in Chicago. Out in west burbs now. Before you got super big we used to talk on line a bit. Haven't forgotten you and eternally grateful
LCN I love your videos, even the sponsored ones! I found your channel this spring and you've already transformed my 18,000 sqft lawn. Keep up the good work!
Just started watching your videos in late spring. I live in SE Michigan. I’ve got two applications of Milo down. My grass has never looked better in the 26 years I have been here. By this time in August it is brown and dried out. I use it on my backyard too. It has even seemed to help with keeping the lawn from dying after my dog does her business. Thank you !!!
Got it done today brother! Literally followed your advice to the letter! Now I'm sitting back enjoying a local craft beer and cigar! Love the channel my friend.
Classic video Allyn, the intro was amazing! You just provided a blueprint to follow for pure DOMINATION. By the way, you never have to explain for the recent promos. You've provided years of free content and I support your recent collabos/ventures. Stay safe Brotha!
Great tip earlier this year on hedging our bets to fight off summer disease. Made all the difference in my yard. Summer flew by yet again! Hard to believe us northerners need to plan for fall lawn care already. As for the product vids keep them coming. Never know when your favorite, or not so favorite, tool is ready for an upgrade.
Those palms well takin care of, almost grow like Bamboo....I bought one back in 1994 at Kmart. The lady at the counter told me it would get root bound in the pot and die. Well...I put it in the ground...and now it's like 20 feet high and 6 feet across..I do trim it....it's a perpetual growing plant!
your videos (and my new neighbors stares and head shakes) have converted me to the green side. now i find myself lying awake in bed watching these videos getting me pumped for the morning so i can get out there and tackle my sad little lawn. i think milorganite owes you some checks because its one of the first things i bought after seed and a quality sprinkler (i did do a soil test prior to fert, it needed nitro desperately but shockingly it was very high in phosphorus)
You are a "trip"... some b.s. with a sprinkle of humor and some great advice! Very entertaining. Btw, great video shooting sequences & loved the aerial drone sequences.
Interesting on the seed choices. I've always been curious about a KBG dominant mix but all the region specific mixes (both big box and specialty stores) are roughly a 80/15/5 mix of Tall Fescue, Rye and KBG respectively. Second most popular alternative is carpet bombing with perrenial rye (5-7 lbs/1000) every fall and just trying to win the battle with volume (most of the local lawn contractors do this). Very few predominantly KBG lawns. I think part of the issue is that we get such sudden and heavy rainfalls once you get into Sept that waiting 21 days for germination would lead to too many casualties. Lots of poa trivialis contamination as well which is then exacerbated by very wet Springs.
“Halloween, trick or treat day, is a domination point”. Haha, love this channel! I have spent an embarrassing amount of time watching your videos on lawn care. Excited to get started with cool weather over-seed tomorrow!
For small bushes I use a sawzall and a diablo pruning blade. Cuts through dirt and roots in seconds. I saw the hard work and dedication on your project. Excellent!
I used to swing an ax like that too! Wait till youre 60! Not anymore! I live down here. I just applied some Scotts Bonus S and little by little Milorganite...through the rest of the spring and summer...The stuff is the bomb!
2:36 over your left shoulder: You probably already know this, but you have Resurrection Fern on your palms! They are awesome native plants and they are endangered. They shrivel up when it gets dry and look dead, but they spring back to life when it rains. I was super excited when I got a small patch on mine when I first bought my place. It's huge now. I think a lot of people remove them thinking it's a dead thing. But I'm a plant nerd, so...probably no one else cares lol
Thanks LCN! Ignore any/all haters. You have a great channel and have turned me into a LCN too. I'm planning my aeration, starter fert, milorganite, and spot week kill in september.
Dear Mr. Lawn Care Nut, Don't apologize for making a living off what you have fun with. I've enjoyed your content since the NW Indiana days, don't change dude
The Lawn Care Nut When I was in Milwaukee I saw the place where they make Milorganite. It was cool to see, that would make a cool LCN video! I enjoy the videos keep em coming. Thanks
Greetings from NC! Love the sky shots, music and of course all of the tips ;) you're animated without being over the top and are my DREAM neighbor to run into at HD lol. Keep 'em coming, you're the best!
Great video , love you man , thanks for the northeast lawn tips , greetings from the state of Delaware , big hug and God bless you , keep up the great work.👍👍👍👍👍
We moved into a new house that was built last year and the front lawn was pretty barren. Now it is green, but about half of it is crabgrass. I put out crabgrass killer, which is working and next week plan to spread some topsoil and overseed, but I am worried I am getting too late of a start here in North Missouri, but since the highs are around 90 everyday, I am going to go for it.
I know what's attached to that wheel, and I can't wait to see your review of it! Absolutely awesome video, a ton of info and all the Lawn Care Nut humor I love and have come to expect.
I followed your tips and this is the best my lawn ever looked. I'm working on my sister-in-law's yard now it's a salad bar the crab grass is killing me.
Those stumps, two methods I use that make my day easier, pull with vehicle, or bury the saw in the dirt and cut the roots, about 6-8". It will dull the chain fast, you'll get about 4 or 5 cuts in. but for a small job, and $10 to sharpen the chain if you don't have your own sharpener it's worth it.
This is the redemption video I needed to rinse last weeks bad taste video from memory! Great work LCN Throw Er Down!!! Any collaboration Jake TLCK/Florida vids planned? Ho ho ho what a Christmas gift that would be
Allyn. I love the content! If I can make a small suggestion on hedge and shrub removal; A lightweight engine hoist will lift them straight out of the ground with very little calorie expenditure...so drink a light beer afterward.
Very nice. Going to follow these steps in a few weeks since I'm canning the lawn company. I ended up buying a core aerator that pulls behind the mower for 200 bucks (agri-fab 42") since the lawn company wanted 240. Figured I have a better r.o.i. buying one and can do other lawns for beer.
In Texas, I put down milorganite 2x so far this summer and leave my grass at ~3in. Nice and green! Noticed my neighbor just had his lawn guys give his lawn a crew cut, while it's still in the 100° range, and exposed lots of brown patches... my lawn definitely stands put compared to his. I tried the Lesco like the guy at HD was recommended.. no more thanks to Allyn!
I requested a demo on a world lawn mower I cut grass commercially so looking at their stand on mowers. But I mentioned you in the request when they asked where I heard of them from.
That LESCO 16-4-8 only has 3% iron compared to Milorganite's 5%, but it has a lot of sulphur to lower the PH and allow the iron to be taken up. I've used both products together in the past on my St. Augustine with good results on Florida's empty sandy 'soil.' Before LESCO became John Deere Landscapes and now SiteOne, they had their own version of Milorganite from Bartow, FL. Don't know if it's still available. Also, check with your local municipality to see if they sell or give away dry sewerage. I can remember my dad getting it and having to help spread it when I was growing up on the Space Coast. Is that the new HD on 64 & 75?
That looks nice Allyn. You do good work. 👍🏻 now all I have to do is get my wife to drop off the grass clipping in our hedge row along the back of the property and I'd be good! When I mow - I mulch 😊. When she mows - she rides. No mulching on the rider. 😢 However, by next week that new mulching blade will be here and then I'll be happy when she mows! 🤗🤗🤗 Now just where did she put that dang plug?!? 🤔
Outstanding job, just keep doing what you are doing! ( the masses are asses & if they don't like the sponsors so be it) you can't please everyone. Domination isnt for every one only those who can!!!!
Ricky Mcgrath ---I was wondering this too---we're still in high 90's in Atlanta. But my next door neighbor would be out there filming me to see if I was stepping in 'her side'. Lucky you must have a nicer neighbor.
Its a timemaster. I can tell by the wheel face, and the tire tracks in the lawn are further apart than a 21", but the width of the tire track wasn't wide enough for it to be the WorldLawn's tracks.
My Home Depot had two options for aerators and both fit in the back of my CRV. If you have a SUV you might not need to rent a truck. Thanks for the tips LCN!
Hi Allyn. Loving these videos. Just bought my House, Contractor did a seeding for my lawn here on Long Island and its greenish BUT not what I am used to at a golf course or want. Going to Aerate Labor day weekend and reseed, Starter Fert and Milorganite. Just confirming, anyone can answer, When you say pounds per 1000sqft, i need to calibrate my spreader to drop that many lbs per 1000 and then run the rest of my property at that setting. 3lbs starter, 7lbs seed 5lbs Milorganite.
I live in northwest, havecnever seen milorganite. I wish we had it, would love to try it. I totally have an "old school" lawn and it's sparse and plagued by creeping bent grass. I will try some overseeding this fall. Thanks.
I use a sawzall like a trencher to cut around stumps and get all the small roots. get the shovel under it, move it around a little and then you can cut the tap root. stump gone!
Nice! Looking forward to a timemaster video. Think I'm about to pull the trigger and get one but still having trouble deciding between it & a super recycler....
Great vid Allyn, keep hustlin bro and if people hating that means u doing it right. Just bought me a Toro because I love what u do and you are HELPING ME for free bro, and its absolutely AWESOME! I wonder if I can follow the fall recovery verbatim in GA with my Bermuda tho, hopin you address us warm seasoners soon
Our neighbors go in together renting an aerator for the day. A one day rental can get about 5 lawns completed and costs very little for each homeowner. Of course the rental agency may not like this approach.
Thanks for explaining about your last video. This is how Toro should make marketing, letting you loose, doing your own thing. By the way, I'm not skipping to minute 15, are you nuts?? I'm watching the entire thing from zero to 29 baby!! LCN fan all the way!!!!
You took out the root ball the hardest way possible. Trick use a demolition recipicating saw with pruning blade. Cut in circle. For larger roots do circles and dig a trench between the two circles. I hope this helps you next time.
I have a disaster lawn. Kansas City, MO, so cool season and hot season combined (in my opinion). No grass grows under large tree. Lots of weeds. Never aerated. Mostly clay soil. Retired and very little money that can be spent on lawn care. Did just buy a new Toro super recycler with Toro engine because the Honda engine on my Husqvarna died. Should my first goal be to eliminate weeds? I’l like to improve soil quality, but not sure how. Thinking maybe spreading compost? Total yard 18,000 sqft. so will have to concentrate on one section at a time. I vegetable garden in back yard, but may have to spray chemicals around anyway, but want to work on front yard first. It’s mostly on a medium steep slope. 30 degrees maybe. Top soil gets washed off onto sidewalk which is totally covered since I’ve let it go, but want to clean it up this year.
Thanks lawn care nut for making me a lawn snob now lol the local kid who cuts grass stopped by while I was edging and said how do you get your lawn so green? lol I didn't know if I should tell him or not lol
29 mins well spent tonight, looks as though I'll be ready to go for September 1st thanks to all the advice in this video!. I noticed you didn't mention anything about dethatching.. is that something you avoid in the fall altogether Allyn?. What product etc would you recommend that's close to Milo for you fans North of the American border who are missing out?!.
You only need to dethatch your lawn if you have more than a half an inch of thatch. I think if you need to do it then spring time is the time to do it. The thatch usually decomposes over winter if you aerate in the fall.
And you know my palm tree will go to heaven in Fall of NJ. Question- after aeration, what should we do with the coors? Leave them there or pick them up?
Some people go for sunday drives or read the sunday paper, but I prefer the sunday lawn video! nice job as always
Your situational awareness is impeccable. Your recognition of the defense on that milo convert was awesome. If only we all could punish defenses of synthetics the way you did.
11:15 Fav part: The camera angle from the shovel’s point of view. Love your humor and videos!
TIPS TIPS TIPS! I love taking "just the tip" from this guy. World class lawn information.
You are truly the best, Al. You helped me so much when I was back in Chicago. Out in west burbs now. Before you got super big we used to talk on line a bit. Haven't forgotten you and eternally grateful
AND you like good beer! I need to make a Three Floyd's run soon.. :)
15:07 starts straight facts. Love the longer videos. Got some family over this week and my lawn looking really thick and green
LCN I love your videos, even the sponsored ones! I found your channel this spring and you've already transformed my 18,000 sqft lawn. Keep up the good work!
Vintage LCN. Tips, sunsets, drone shots, gratuitous Milo plugs. Loved every minute of it. Keep it up Al!

Whoa that was more than just the tip. That was almost the whole shaft . Nice to see that your aqua thumb is still working comes in pretty handy.
Way to help your fellow yard owner at the Depot Allen. Very nice of you. Another reason I follow this channel. Thanks
I freaking love the intro on this video! Drone/music/sunset.... Amazing! I sometimes just watch the intro before I watch other videos.... Lol

I've seen them on there but didn't know what they were. I like them! Thanks for the tip too, I will be sure I don't prune them off.
Thanks for the fall tips! Props for being honest and forthright about the sponsors, too. Get that money!
Thanks LCN! Ignore any/all haters. You have a great channel and have turned me into a LCN too. I'm planning my aeration, starter fert, milorganite, and spot week kill in september.
Can't wait for the fall warm season lawn video. Enjoyed the 29 minute video. Awesome editing!

Those drone edits. Hectic. Nice little tv episode, almost like a doco haha
Your drone footage is getting better and better! Keep up the good work!
This has got to be the best intro to an LCN Video ever! Love it 😁

This is the redemption video I needed to rinse last weeks bad taste video from memory! Great work LCN Throw Er Down!!!

When i lived in Ft Myers back in 2003, it rained at 3p every day during the summer like clock work.
Allyn. I love the content! If I can make a small suggestion on hedge and shrub removal; A lightweight engine hoist will lift them straight out of the ground with very little calorie expenditure...so drink a light beer afterward.

Great video as always, thanks for the knowledge and more importantly the humor!
Once again, a wealth of information. Thanks!
Getting heavier on the innuendo. LOL... I'm so easily amused.
this dude chooses the best songs
You know you're a big fan when 29 min goes by and you are like...wait that's it.. I want more!
I requested a demo on a world lawn mower I cut grass commercially so looking at their stand on mowers. But I mentioned you in the request when they asked where I heard of them from.
yo those echo pants are legit! need to get myself a pair to reduce the amount of grass in my socks i take home every day
two Aqua-thumbs up!
thanks LCN from a first time home owner from brigantine, NJ
time to execute & dominate
So thankful for these videos! Just bought our first house and the lawn is a disaster!

Is that the new HD on 64 & 75?
Also if your doing a lot of planting like that get the cheap ass harbor fight auger. Works amazing super easy for prepping holes and plants.
I love all your videos!!!! I use Milorganite except for the final fertilization of the year; then I use a winter fertilizer from Fleet Farm.
Allen you need a flat bladed digging iron! It will help you chop roots and pry those root balls out, along with some shovel work.
That looks nice Allyn. You do good work. 👍🏻 now all I have to do is get my wife to drop off the grass clipping in our hedge row along the back of the property and I'd be good! When I mow - I mulch 😊. C&C DreamScapes It's a WorldLawn mower.
Not the "mysterious wheel" he teases us with at 3:35
C&C DreamScapes So Señor
My Home Depot had two options for aerators and both fit in the back of my CRV. If you have a SUV you might not need to rent a truck. Thanks for the tips LCN!
Love everything you do. Keep doing what you do. Great content.
A lawn care client I picked up last week got some free fert advice. Of course I said to use Milo!!! Its the way to go!
Hi Allyn. Loving these videos. Just bought my House, Contractor did a seeding for my lawn here on Long Island and its greenish BUT not what I am used to at a golf course or want. Yet another job well done ! Enjoyed the entire video, and the tips, also very much appreciated
Hey Allen ... You are the coolest cat when it comes to lawn care man. Great info as always. Meeeow lol
Our neighbors go in together renting an aerator for the day. A one day rental can get about 5 lawns completed and costs very little for each homeowner. Of course the rental agency may not like this approach.
Youre a beast. Thanks for all the awesome videos and for sharing your knowledge
Rental stump grinders are a wonderful tool.
I totally dig the WNUA 95.5 SMOOTH JAZZ background music
Thanks for explaining about your last video. This is how Toro should make marketing, letting you loose, doing your own thing. By the way, I'm not skipping to minute 15, are you nuts?? I'm watching the entire thing from zero to 29 baby!! LCN fan all the way!!!!
29 minutes of LCN content 👌🏻👍🏼🔥
"And trust me, it's probably going to be a little more than just the tip."
Upfront about it at least.
Bawhahaha
You took out the root ball the hardest way possible. Trick use a demolition recipicating saw with pruning blade. Cut in circle. For larger roots do circles and dig a trench between the two circles. I hope this helps you next time.
Awesome video LCN keep up the great work!!
Nothing better than black, Roundup coffee!
Great lawn sir!!! What is the name of those borders that you are using around your rocks at 2:35?
I'm glad to see Toro still lets you use other brands besides theirs as seen with that mower and Echo trimmer.
One of your best videos yet!
Thanks lawn care nut for making me a lawn snob now lol the local kid who cuts grass stopped by while I was edging and said how do you get your lawn so green? lol I didn't know if I should tell him or not lol
Yes, please do.
I see a future domination line here with the hedge cutting!!!!
DIGGINDEEP agreed! I was wondering about dethatching too
You only need to dethatch your lawn if you have more than a half an inch of thatch. I think if you need to do it then spring time is the time to do it. The thatch usually decomposes over winter if you aerate in the fall.
And you know my palm tree will go to heaven in Fall of NJ. Question- after aeration, what should we do with the coors? Leave them there or pick them up?
Domination point for Halloween. Love!
I am excited and ready for the fall lawn reboot. There is a whole lot of overseeding to be done
I use the same Home Depot chemical. LOL. Works great. I enjoy your videos very much and I love Florida!
That's a nice worlds best shovel. I love mine
Nicely done video LCN.
