The amount of different products that you use and how much they cost make my head spin. Lawn care is hard work! I love your videos and I wish I had a decent lawn.
I just bought an ECHO trimmer similar to the one at 19:10 and it runs excellent after an adjustment to the fuel screws (it was a little sick out of the box). Never considered getting an attachment model for an edger, hedge trimmer or brush cutter attachment. Its GR8 that Home Depot has some high quality lawn care equipment to compete with the pro stuff.
Here in Central Ca, I overseeded at the end of Sep and this time I tried Milo instead of Topper or Manure. WOW this stuff is growing so fast. I've already cut it twice at 4" and cut back the watering to every other day so the rye can dry out. I'm bringing it down to 2" today. Thanks for the Milo Tip!
Allyn your lawn looks impeccable that being said some advanced fertilizers I have used that work along side milorganite and other base n-p-k fertilizers are: Humic acid- improves nutrient absorption Kelp- provides minerals growth hormones and stress resistance Epsom Salt- provides magnesium and sulfur mag. a main component in chlorophyll sulfur helps assimilation of amino acids and finally a soil test showed me my soil had no boron so I added Borax- helps build rna. All these extra components help against stress, disease, and pest damage but most importantly DOMINATE!
We have alot of 90F days and Kentucky 31 stays green year round. Id say growth here in Maryland slows in late October early november with cutting ceasing in late november. Growth in winter can happen with warm fronts as we can get 60-80+ in the winter for periods, but mostly our temps are 35-45F here.
Rockin’ LCN! My fert arrived today (unfortunately not Milo, but similar ratio). Thowin’er down on Thursday. Last time to dominate before putting her to bed for the Winter.
Just bought and moved into a house and the sellers left an overgrown lawn. The HOA started giving me crap from second week. I got it back in shape today. Now it's DOMINATION time!!!
LCN, have you ever considered a Toro eFlex cordless electric reel mower? I think that it's the answer for most people. It requires minimal maintenance and stores compactly, it only needs sharpening every eight years, there's no gas engine to maintain either.
LOL...the journal cracked me up!! Too damn funny great "tips"! Alan...can you do a comparison video between crabgrass and the creeping signalgrass. I THINK I have a crabgrass problem, but now you have me wondering if its the latter of the two. Watched a few videos on both, and really haven't come to a definie conclusion. Prodiamine is going down either way! Oh..you did another video on clumping Ryegrass. Is digging it out the ONLY way to get rid of that crap? Looking for options to fix my lawn and dominate next year! Thanks
This video was somewhat nostalgic. Reminiscent of your NW Indy days. You've come a long way Brotha! Between you, Jake and Ryan...domination is inevitable!!!
Allyn, I have before and after pics of my lawn I’d like to show you. I’ve transformed my lawn which was horrendous and just moved in my home in July. All by watching your videos.
Do you have a soil temp technique you like to use? How about a recommended thermometer that I can use on my tall fescue in Virginia. Nice video.. I love the hat! I need two of them, the extra is for when I lose the first one.
I thought I wasn't supposed to add Milo after end of Sept for zyosia located on Long Island in zone 7a/b because the cold weather will zap new root growth. Am I mistaken?
Great show!!!!! Is it too late to spray for weeds up North? It is in the 60’s during the day but dropping to low 40’s high 30’s at night. Lawn is slowing way down on growth but I wasn’t sure if I could kill some weeds before winter?? Thanks LCN!!
Love the videos! They are hilarious and informational. Milorganite should sponsor you if they haven't by now. At Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement they don't carry in my area. I am hooked. Do you have an online store to buy hats or shirts to represent you? By the way, my neighbors have complimented on my lawn. They landscape and do install sod. They thought I had a professional personally come. I said, "Yes, a professional but he's a Lawn Care Nut." They didn't get it till I showed them your channel. Now they're hooked!
Quick question. If you could have your choice of any grass for you home, taking into consideration the area that you live in. Would you stick to the same that you already have, or would you change to a different type? If, so which type?
I'm in northeast Mississippi with a St. Augustine lawn. I am battling brown spot at the moment fungicide and I have read where it was not good to add nitrogen to the lawn this late in the season and having issues with brown spot. Is milo the same? Is this stuff Ok to put down during this time? We had a week of cooler night time temp's and it really kicked in the brown spot. We just bought the house in February this year so this is kind of new to me. Temps' this week are in the 80's and 60's and it looks like they are dropping to the 60's and 40's next week. The grass has REALLY slowed down. The front yard where the lawn is getting more sun is thick and green. The back yard where there is a little more shade is not as thick and where the brown spot issues is. I put down some standard nitrogen fertilizer about 1-1/5 to 2 months ago. I think is was 15-0-0. I liked the journal idea and started that yesterday. Good advice thanks.
With cooler nights what is the best time to water? Currently dominating the neighbors with my Bermuda here in mid SC and trying to make it through Halloween. Thanks for all the tips!
I had to break 3 mowing rules yesterday. Mowed when it was wet. I bagged because it was so overgrown. I cut off way more than a third of the grass blade on one mowing. My soul died a little. Is it ok to be putting down nitrogen and pushing growth this time of the year just before the lawn is going to go into dormancy? (Central PA, cool season grasses)
I had thought about doing that, but decided against it mostly due to time. It's getting increasingly difficult to mow in the evenings with the sun going down earlier. By the time I get home from work, I wouldn't have enough time to mow. If I waited for the weekend to mow again, I would be overgrown again, just continuing the cycle.
I just did the same thing. Im not worried too much but I'm also probably not in the same region you are in. Probably be ok. I added a thatch in mine so I wouldn't worry too much lol.
Hey bud! Love you’re channel. I live in San Diego Cali and have tall fescue grass. I have some Bermuda growing in my lawn coming from the neighbors weed farm grass next door. Most people in my nice newer neighborhood don’t take care of there lawn. So I used some Beyer Bermuda controlI of two applications in a month. The Bermuda started to die. Then I detached and and over-seeded with tall fescue seed. Also used Milo. The grass is looking beautiful but it looks like the Bermuda wants to grow back. What would you recommend? I want to dominate my lazy neighbors. Pylex??? I know it cost a lot but not sure if it will kill my grass and new grass. Help please.
How does that new double blade Toro maneuver? I’m looking at that model for next year and currently using a Honda that is like trying to maneuver a tank and takes a lot of effort when getting in area where I need to back up and move it around.
That's really cool. I photograph birds and would love to experience them that close. Question. I seeded a new lawn the last week of August this year. The lawn has thickned up, but will continue to need some TLC next spring and next fall. When is the latest I can put down some Milorganite or is there something better for a newly seeded lawn? I live in Maryland. Thanks
Have any of you used Dr. Earth super natural lawn fertilizer? My Homedepot is out of milo... and the dr. Earth was on clearance... $2.90 per bag!!!! Vs 35... I would never pay the 35 but for 3 bucks I bought enough for 3 apps... just looking for a little feed back! Thanks Alan love the videos, up here from Massachusetts
Do you recommend the Bifenthrin generally, or is it just something you need in your situation? (I live in central OH, if it matters for this application. I'm in a new to me house and doing some late season work. I hired a crew to do a lawn aeration, but they haven't been able to get it. First it was too dry (not able to pull a good plug), and then too wet. Now it's 'just right', but they're backed up. After they aerate I hope to lay down milorganite and potash, or some other winter fertilizer. (I have about 4500 SF of turf and plan on using 2 bags of Milo. I also have 1 bag of 'Safer Ringer Lawn Restore, which has an analysis of 10-0-6 and I figure will be a good, safe, winter fertilizer.)
Hi Alan. I am wondering if Milorganite needs warm temps to break down, meaning does it need heat to break down? I ask because I am in N.H. and I don't tend to use Milorganite at this time of year because I thought it wouldn't be utilized due to lack of warmer temps. Is that true?
Every CO August we stop getting rain and half my back yard completely thins out and dies. I watered a ton this year to try to fight this and it helped a little. Any ideas?
Hey Mr.LCN_dominator I have a question. Living up in the northern Midwest could I apply a lot more milo than the back recommends? I put some down at the recommended rate and it had some decent effects, more or less kept my lawn alive and green but not beautiful or dark. I know it will be more than one application to change everything just wondering if more would help more
Allyn, can I tank-mix Quinclorac 75, Sedgehammer and Prodiamine 65 WDG? Trying to kill Crabgrass/Kyllinga and prevent them from coming back. Im in Southern California, we dont get frost.. so I think I have to kill off the crabgrass as it wont go away over winter.
Allyn. Been watching your videos and really want to reach out to you on this problem I have. I prefer to leave this in the comments over a PM so maybe other people who know what I'm dealing with can read. I don't think I seen a video about it either so here goes. Trying to dominate in mid to late fall here. My big problem is FOXTAIL here in the north. The only thing I found to kill it is a general glyphosate which you know kills EVERYTHING. Its a massive patch. Probably at least 1000 sqft. I got it all dead and going to wait so see if anything els pops up next spring. Is there's a pre emergent I can use on fox tail to keep the dropped seeds from germinating next year? Grass type weeds are a pain in the butt man. Broad leaf killer won't work. I want to plant grass next season but am worried it would get taken back over by seeds that I missed. I don't want to have to babysit the area for several seasons before I throw down grass ideally. Any tips here? Dont recall you taking about foxtail up north here. Its also can be pretty harmfuk for animals because the seeds get embedded in their paws and in their sinuses. Might be a good video for you. Thanx alot Allen. Your tips are the best on TH-cam. 😉👍 Sitting here on 5+ acres of property here and the work never ends....which I love! 😂.
I live in AZ and I just over-seeded the front and backyard with Rye grass. I always apply start fert and Milo at the same time. Then I throw the Rye seed on top of that. Then I throw the Topper on that. It is a beautiful thing. Within about 7 to 10 days the rye grass is as green as can be and about two inches. "That's what she said". MILO won't burn your Grass!! Throw'er DOWN!!
Brian Edwards hey I also live in AZ and this is my first time trying to get a lawn going. I put down some rye down as well. My question has to do with watering, I watered a good amount right after I put the seed down and watered it again before going to bed. I water it in the morning before I leave for work but the problem is that there isn't anyone home to water while I'm gone. Will the seed survive with the long time gaps between watering?
mrtwk63 I bought a digital water timer and a couple of hoses.. works like a charm!! Btw I live in NJ and water 3 times a day for 10 mins to keep the soil humid.
For upper midwest lawns, if you forget to do Milo 10-12 days out...just throw down some Ironite about 3-4 days out, water it in....and you will be just as dark green on Halloween. Source: me, the last 2 years.
Hey bud long time follower and fan but I have a question in central N.C. with brand new turf type tall fescue lawn how do I get rid of what I believe to be wild garlic
First off, you are the man! Love your vids! Anyways your one video made me go and check out all of my craftsman box vinyls lol so i appreciate it... Few questions my man, i live in NE Indiana (Fort Wayne) I have been on the Milorganite plan since i started watching your videos about a year ago...(Thanks for that) anyways i just did my last application at the beginning of October should that be my last? I have Fescue (k31) Second question i had my builder fix my sump line drain and a culvert, with that being said they obviously jacked up my yard. Whats your recommendation for fixing/seeding? Thanks for any help man.
Milorganite We can not get it in Australia is there something else for me here other then weed infested chicken manure and cows manure full of weed seed I find when using these natural products I get loads of weed come through?????
I have given Milo many tries on my TTTF lawn and it just doesn’t do much for me. I’ve tried it over a year mixed with synthetics and I just recently put a pound of N down from it with granular potash and nothing major. I’m not a fan of it... Not saying it’s a bad product it just hasn’t worked for me for whatever reasons. Anyone else have little to no results from it? Nice video Allyn. 👍🏼
Hey LCN if I use Milo now will this be my last app for the season. I am in the north east with cool season turf. Also where to buy liquid potassium ? Thanx Greg
I must say watching you maintain your lawn is therapeutic. I could watch a whole video of that. Can’t wait to dominate on Halloween 🎃
The amount of different products that you use and how much they cost make my head spin. Lawn care is hard work! I love your videos and I wish I had a decent lawn.

Never considered getting an attachment model for an edger, hedge trimmer or brush cutter attachment. Its GR8 that Home Depot has some high quality lawn care equipment to compete with the pro stuff.
Those birds can see your lawn domination from the air. That is why they are checking it out first hand.
Those birds are crazy man! I live off of a bayou and we have swans and stuff but they wouldn't let you get within 50 feet.
Ya and they area till there 1 yr later lol
Here in Central Ca, I overseeded at the end of Sep and this time I tried Milo instead of Topper or Manure. WOW this stuff is growing so fast. I've already cut it twice at 4" and cut back the watering to every other day so the rye can dry out. I'm bringing it down to 2" today. Thanks for the Milo Tip!
Thanks to your suggestions and videos I dominate my neighbors going one year of lawn after completing the landscape
Hey Allen, I think you have the best intro music on TH-cam! Great job on the videos, also.
Lunch hour just got 22mins longer hell yeah!!!
Happy to see you found your plums and fired up the brapbraps
Allyn your lawn looks impeccable that being said some advanced fertilizers I have used that work along side milorganite and other base n-p-k fertilizers are: Humic acid- improves nutrient absorption Kelp- provides minerals growth hormones and stress resistance Epsom Salt- provides magnesium and sulfur mag. a main component in chlorophyll sulfur helps assimilation of amino acids and finally a soil test showed me my soil had no boron so I added Borax- helps build rna. Good to hear you talking about Zoi grass. Amazing thickness in the north in the summer. Here in Delaware
We have alot of 90F days and Kentucky 31 stays green year round. Id say growth here in Maryland slows in late October early november with cutting ceasing in late november. Growth in winter can happen with warm fronts as we can get 60-80+ in the winter for periods, but mostly our temps are 35-45F here.
those are by far the COOLEST birds!!!!!
Rockin’ LCN! My fert arrived today (unfortunately not Milo, but similar ratio). Thowin’er down on Thursday.
Last time to dominate before putting her to bed for the Winter.
Can you a video on your concrete edging in your yard. We have a company up here in Jacksonville that does it and I have been debating it.
RJINATOR I’m in Orange Park. Love this guys tips!
Not yet
Just bought and moved into a house and the sellers left an overgrown lawn. The HOA started giving me crap from second week. I got it back in shape today. Now it's DOMINATION time!!!
Anyone ever tell you "You've got this thing down!" I ask because you do! Lawn journal just cracked me up. :)
LCN, have you ever considered a Toro eFlex cordless electric reel mower? I think that it's the answer for most people. It requires minimal maintenance and stores compactly, it only needs sharpening every eight years, there's no gas engine to maintain either.
Ha I made the video! The video of you trimming the curb around the palms was awesome!
What’s your sprinkler system setup like? Would be nice to see what kind of sprinklers you have running.
LOL...the journal cracked me up!! Too damn funny great "tips"! Alan...can you do a comparison video between crabgrass and the creeping signalgrass. Followed your fall lawn tips, Ive still got a salad bar but my overseed came in damn well!

beautiful sandhill cranes, i'm very jealous. best part of the yard!
Really enjoy and appreciate all your videos!
Corner sun drawing is a classic :)
nice heard of dinos bro. you're a dino rancher. the milo-green yard is attracting them!
Getting ready for Halloween again :)
When 2020

Great video Allen. Do you think it would be beneficial for me to put down MILO at this time? I live in Indianapolis.
Have you ever used Scott's Winterguard fertilizer? If so what are your thoughts?
Very informative, thanks!
Why don’t you get a stand alone edger instead of the trimmer attachment? I’d love to see a review.
My garage/workshop has the sweet aroma of Milorganite year round.
Noooo
I had to break 3 mowing rules yesterday. Mowed when it was wet. I bagged because it was so overgrown. I cut off way more than a third of the grass blade on one mowing. My soul died a little.
Is it ok to be putting down nitrogen and pushing growth this time of the year just before the lawn is going to go into dormancy? (Central PA, cool season grasses)
I'm tapering off. Final application is going down today for me.
Hahaha. Yeah, my blade was sharp. So I guess I have that going for me...
John
I would have mowed it high and lowered it when it dries out.
Any reason you had to mow it low?
I had thought about doing that, but decided against it mostly due to time. It's getting increasingly difficult to mow in the evenings with the sun going down earlier. By the time I get home from work, I wouldn't have enough time to mow. If I waited for the weekend to mow again, I would be overgrown again, just continuing the cycle.

Why not use that earthway walk behind sprayer for the potash?
Love the info Allen, but applying the potash for the deep geen, does the potash neutralize the P.H. levels?
Hey bud! Love you’re channel. I live in San Diego Cali and have tall fescue grass. I have some Bermuda growing in my lawn coming from the neighbors weed farm grass next door. Do you have to water the bifenthrin in if it's not mixed with the potash? And obviously it doesn't hurt to water the bifenthrin in
Do you use non-ethanol gas? What type of fuel stabilizers or fuel treatments do you use
Is that Aldo Nova - Fantasy in the background?
That's really cool. I photograph birds and would love to experience them that close.
Question. I seeded a new lawn the last week of August this year. The lawn has thickned up, but will continue to need some TLC next spring and next fall. When is the latest I can put down some Milorganite or is there something better for a newly seeded lawn? I live in Maryland.
Thanks
Love the longer vids
Hi Allyn, any recommendations for granular potash? Thanks again for the advice and entertainment.
Were you overseeding that the birds were wondering if you had anymore seeds left
no HRX this time?
Milo pie!!! Love it
What's thay
I'm up in Minnesota, many have blown out their irrigation systems. If I apply Milo + the potash will I have any issues with reduced watering?
How about 22 days before Halloween? Will I still feel some of the results? I just threwer down and two weeks is proly too soon to do it again, right?
The LCN is in Full Domination Beast Mode.
A, would I Milo if I am 15 days past 100lb fescue oversead and a 50lbs starter fert?
Hey Alan- love the tutorials- quick question - curious if you know where the bed edging material is from?

Ahh that lawn snapped right back after chemotherapy. I could see bunches of green shoots coming thru the bad areas. very nice
Every CO August we stop getting rain and half my back yard completely thins out and dies. I watered a ton this year to try to fight this and it helped a little. Any ideas?
Is the powdered version of the potassium just as good? Thanks!
Hey Mr.LCN_dominator I have a question. Living up in the northern Midwest could I apply a lot more milo than the back recommends? I put some down at the recommended rate and it had some decent effects, more or less kept my lawn alive and green but not beautiful or dark. I know it will be more than one application to change everything just wondering if more would help more
great vid. which edger is that?
I love your hat bro 👍🏽🍺
I would love to buy one too 👍🏽⛳️😄🍺
It looked like just one of his lcn stickers on his shark hat. I could be wrong though .
Lawn care nut, did you go down to 2.5 inches in the fall when you had your tall fescue?
Allyn, can I tank-mix Quinclorac 75, Sedgehammer and Prodiamine 65 WDG? Trying to kill Crabgrass/Kyllinga and prevent them from coming back. Im in Southern California, we dont get frost.. so I think I have to kill off the crabgrass as it wont go away over winter.
yes those can play nicely together.
i wander how much is actual voice recognition, Grass "hey, I hear our owner, his definitely going to feed us" hooray!
Bro! you need a couple more mowers in your garage. :)
Allyn. Been watching your videos and really want to reach out to you on this problem I have. I prefer to leave this in the comments over a PM so maybe other people who know what I'm dealing with can read. I don't think I seen a video about it either so here goes.

Hey Allyn. I don't see you talking about doing core aeration to your st. Augustine grass. Are you planning on doing that this fall?
I have sandy soil so no need for aeration here.
Do you put sealer on your concrete boarder?
For upper midwest lawns, if you forget to do Milo 10-12 days out...just throw down some Ironite about 3-4 days out, water it in....and you will be just as dark green on Halloween. Source: me, the last 2 years.
LCN, where did you get that edging material bruh?
I live in Eastern PA just north of Philly and I cannot find any Milo at this time year. Is there an online store I can order from?
Hey bud long time follower and fan but I have a question in central N.C. with brand new turf type tall fescue lawn how do I get rid of what I believe to be wild garlic
almost to winter now. let it go and put down pre -ermgent to stop any future outbreaks
I have Fescue (k31)
Second question i had my builder fix my sump line drain and a culvert, with that being said they obviously jacked up my yard. Whats your recommendation for fixing/seeding?

Can you use pelleted potash instead of liquid?
The lawn journal is out of order my friend. 7/22/17 was the Big Fight, then next page is the tips on 7/4/17.

Hi
In Australia we don’t have miloganite
What would be similar?
Does milo go bad if left open through the winter??
How about turf and Kentucky bluegrass. I live in Canada, Toronto Ontario
He has a ton of older videos for KBG for when he lived in Indiana. Check those out since the schedule for cool season grasses is quite different.
Already Received Answer From This Videos, don't need anyone to reply back to me
Love that hat. Where can I get one? Hopefully you will tell me in this video.
Can you list the music used in this video? :)
That's one bad hat Allyn!
