Hi The Farm Mum, brown rice I highly recommend to soak at least for 1 hour before cooking. However, have a look on cookidoo there is a whole collection about different rice, grains and so on and how to cook them. Btw, I cook my brown rice always in the simmering basket (steaming method) not the absorption method in the bowl. :-) Happy mixing
Yes you are… please see my disclaimer in the description. Most of my videos were filmed and uploaded prior to these changes. Disclaimer: Vorwerk has adjusted how you cook with your Thermomix above 95C to use the simmering basket instead of the TM6 measuring cup. This video was filmed and posted before those changes have been made. Please always follow the on screen safety instructions and refer to thermomixfacts.com.au/ for further information.
There are different ways to cook your rice in a thermomix. The rice cooker mode in the tm6 cooks the rice directly inside the bowl (absorption method). The blades will stop turning at some point.
If you use the basket, that will most likely be for a recipe that is steaming the rice instead. Both are delicious. The most important thing about cooking rice is rinse the uncooked rice at the start under water.
Hi Waqas, of course you can :-) I’m using the stylus pen from our mixShop. If you are in Australia, you can order it here: thermomix.com.au/products/stylus-pen
Could be the type or brand of the rice…? Have you checked out the different rice cooking collection on cookidoo? Maybe try a guided cooking version first to see how this works for your type of rice.
Your instructions are so much clearer than the Cookidoo ones for the TM6, thank you.
Thank you 😘
Thank you. This is super helpful. Do you have similar tips for short grain rice or brown rice?

Try washing the rice first to get a better result.
Mine overflowed. Aren’t you meant to remove the cup from the lid?

Does this need to be done in the simmering basket or just straight in the pot?

Could I ask what stylus you got?

@@JannyThermoCrazy Thanks
I'm in the UK instead
@@waqasahmed939 maybe they have something similar on the UK Thermomix website?
My rice came out like dense mushed up?

Some recipes use like a basket to steam the rice on Thermomix. No directly into the bowl.
Такой вкусный никогда не пробовал
