A really good series of videos with comprehensive breakdown of parts, fitment, details, cost & feedback. There's really nothing missing here.... Fantastic content guys.
I love videos like this because it motivate me to work on my bimmer. I also do a time line on my car and it’s neat to see the progression of each fix I do.
Happy to see they got the TRW, the price is right. I have these on my e92 335i with an M3 sway, Dinan camber plates, and Bilstein coil overs and the steering is significantly better than stock while still riding great. (Can’t say the same for those who delete the factory strut mounts) Also tip, if you are putting these in your 335i it will be hard to get them in. Hammer the subframe once on each corner outward and they will slide right in.
170,000 miles on my E91. It took me 5 hours for 1 side as DIY, but that included changing out the strut using the dreaded spring compressor! ;-) My top strut mount definitely needed replacing as well. I usually keep my BMWs for 250k miles. May have to keep my 2009 Touring longer because there aren't any wagons on the road that look as good!
Such invaluable information shared in this video! I recently realized my steering feels heavier in comfort driving mode. With 157k miles now on it currently , I am going to replace all of these components plus the rear to go along with the coil overs recently purchased. Thanks again guys and looking forward to more content on this one 👊🏽💯
Great work guys, I love watching this project unfold. I've had my E92 M3 from mile 2 and put on 150k (mostly) highway miles and keeping a close eye on this project to see which bits I should replace.
Amazing series! I’ve been watching up till now and it’s literally given me all the confidence I need in deciding if I really wanted to get an E92 M3 as I’m a Honda guy. I’ve always loved bmw but never had the pockets to support it but now that things have become better for me money wise I’ve had my eyes on the e92 again but was very skeptical about the maintenance until seeing all of your e92 videos! I can say thanks to you and the shop that helped restore the car have given me the green light to start saving for one. Cheers👍
Great job..those knuckle joints clearly were worn out and the arm bushes…really enjoy your constructive and progressive reconstruction…nothing extreme….just you basic but fundamental restoration process one section at a time…👌🏽👊🏾👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks so much guys, my e93 330d convertible has 150k and is starting to feel like a boat! 🤦🏻♂️ Nice to know a few k should get it back to normal. Thanks for doing all the hard work! Much appreciated. I know these engines are good for 400k plus so it's worth doing. Awesome work 👏🏼
Love the vids guys, really informative and detailed, i especially like the way you go into detail of the fitting of the parts, and then give a breakdown of all the costs, Aston as usual is a top mechanic, who always manages to make all his jobs look easy. Keep them coming guys.
I would replace the steering rack/ column U joints also, these have always made a massive difference for me when refreshing the ride on a high mileage car.
I did this complete mod to my E90 318d m sport of all things, dramatically changed the feel of the car, so much more poised than before and if you can source the parts new I'd do it to any e9x chassis cat!!!
Loving this series, guys! I refreshed the front control arms and sway bar links on my E92 M3 as well (at 60K miles) and it made a HUGE difference. Didn't change out the tie rods but will likely do that at 85-90K. Haven't done anything yet to the rear but I sometimes feel a bit of looseness back there as well, so looking forward to your next vid. Which rear links do you plan to replace?
Thanks Ari! Tie Rods will definitely help with the steering feel. Truthfully we plan to replace every part of the rear suspension, but will start with the two easy arms, before moving on to the more difficult to change ones along with the subframe bushes themselves.
@@EvolveAutomotive Yes, can't wait for the next vid either. You are doing such a great job, taking people the fear of some really easy jobs and your explanations are excellent
#Aston was awesome in the latest 007 Bond Film No Time to Die #AstonMartinDB Ana de Armas' scene was the only other highlight. My BMW E90 M3 has 190k miles, so I am due for a refresh for XMAS. Next time you get an oil change, have the tech check all your control arms for excess wear and play. One tip: Do the rear suspension first and then the front suspension, so you only need to do the wheel alignment once. They make upgraded rear trailing arms (w and w/o spherical bushings -- very hard to press in and out on the car). The BMW parts are made to buckle, so the gas tank doesn't puncture in a rear end collision. Once the rear suspension is done, then I can add the Varis carbon fiber undertray and rear diffuser. Note that Aston also replaced the sway bar rubber bushings and links. Very important to also do the tie rods, not just the control arms. Would have been nice to also install stainless steel brake lines...for great brake pedal feel.
@@EvolveAutomotive true, iif that's the aim of the car. Probably would of made more sense to put brand new PS4S on as the first change, then go from there.
Love this series! think my car has the same feel so planning to do the same for my car, would you be able to share the part numbers for the hardware as well?
If you use RealOEM.com you can find all the part numbers you need, or call your BMW dealer, ask for parts, explain what you’re doing and they should be able to advise, and actually sell you the parts.
1m 20s in and these look like the same items or close as, to my X3 which is wondering around with a mind of its own. Not many video guides about doing them!
@@kierantilley2590 ye mines an 07 model and other than the new M3, nothing much released since makes me want to replace it, and 100k is out of my budget.
With all the delays currently happening it unfortunately won’t be as soon as we were hoping. We do want to bring something to market however, just can barely get stock of existing products without developing a new one!

Poly would be a downgrade from spherical and is not suitable for the rubber one. The only upgrade would be a spherical. Poly bushes being a blanket upgrade is a misconception. In the case of a factory performance car such as the M3, new OEM bushes are more than sufficient for road use.

Great vid. Surely some new rubber is a must as well now.

0:26 cold bro?
Is it possible to put something on the rubber to make it last longer?
I have a f36 gran coupe ,what would it cost me to do this suspension refresh on my car Imran?
You have to tighten the control arms in driving position
We do.
ty for the video.
Question , I have a 2013 335i e92 (n55) could I do these same refreshes for my car? Like the stuff you added bolts on to my car as well ?
I love TRW, better parts than lemforder, cheaper. Very strong and durable.
I am surprised you didn't do a monoball on the front lower thrust :)

E9x platform (and the cars based on it) will have similar suspension setups as the M3, just with different grade of components.
Can't you jsut change out the bushing to save on cost?
I don’t believe it’s cost effective to do it that way, or actually how possible it is to do
