Not only about cars, passion at all, so many people have none in their lives. Just trying to imagine that sends chill down my spine, utterly terrible image. Passion is probably the biggest drive of my life and if everyone had their own (hopefully a non harmful one) world would be a better place.
I'm a Bmw purist as well and this video was a great representation of how I feel towards a car. But not in a materialistic way but a different insight, in seeing and appreciating beautiful engineering. It's truly art with the body lines of an e92. Some people paint canvases. But some people paint vehicles that drive them 185mph. Bravo, 10/10 video.
First of all…that sequence at 18:20 …. I got goosebumps. I related to this story so much that I felt immensely moved by it. I feel the same about my old e36…. I felt it since I was in my early 20s with that car and was too afraid to really put miles on it. Beautiful beautiful story. Thanks for sharing.

This was a powerful personal message for me. When he started talking about mental health and ocd i felt like i was hearing some one tell a very simalar story to mine. As a 32yr old who struggles daily w severe OCD and depression, this message gave me some light to there being a better tomorrow w small steps and patience! Its truly amazing how cars have a way of bringing like minded people together! Loved this message brother and ty for being so honest about ur mental health. I think thats so crucial in the day and age we live in w many of us young men struggling w mental health and no voice to speak of it, that we come together as a community of men and brothers and show this kind of support! Ty again brother for this amzing production and the car is beyond beautiful!! Stay well brother god bless!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
These are incredible cars. They sound amazing, and they're slow enough that you can wring them out through a couple gears without drawing too much attention.
I felt the words. The sound and the emotion. If you were here in sunny uk 🇬🇧 I would literally hug you and the car at same time. Love to you the team and family. God bless.
We all have that one car that gets us motivated. Whether it's a 69' Camaro or 992 GT3 or for those truly odd individuals an 05' Pontiac Aztec, each gives us goosebumps. Great video Matt and the team. Stay obsessed!
I subscribed many years ago, besides being great ambient noise I realised I too have OCD tendencies about keeping things in pristine condition, fortunately I don't have anything nice to keep nice LOL Much love from Brighton UK.
The moment I saw the title of this video I thought: here we go, there's another one who thinks they can appreciate an e92 m3 as I do and i just couldn't resist to hit play. Ohh boy, little that I knew, I ve been captivated second by second, frame by frame and I could never imagine that somebody else can be as passionate as I am. Having watched as many e92 m3`s video I could find, nothing gets near this video and most of all, your story that I so much can relate. This is insane and surreal and the same time. I'm deeply touched, thank you!
Matt, your story is so cool and yet oddly relatable. Though I'm half your age, I've had the incredible privilege to work hard for my future at a super early stage of life. When I was in school, I flipped cars as a way to meet my heros; miatas, s2000s, e36 M3s and so on. Yet, since I climbed the ladder, started my own business, and explored every stage of car ownership I thought to fit "the dream," I continue to come back to the e9x M3. This is the vehicle I lust after. Unfortunately, my business has suffered several hurdles during 2021 and finding the right M3 has been put on the back-burner. Yet, the determination -- the decision -- the countdown for my first e9x M3 awaits. Thank you for sharing your story. I wish I had a hat to throw in the metaphorical ring for your prime example of a beautiful chassis.
Had the same experience as you, My first memory of getting excited about a car was when i was 14 years old walking to school and a brand new Dakar Yellow E36 M3 EVO coupe drove past and I was hooked on M3's ever since, and when i was able to afford my own M3, I bought a E92 M3 in individual Dakar Yellow.
Same for me, except I wanted the sonic blue with gray Vader seats. I was obsessed, and still am. I was around 14 also, daydreaming of joining the army just to buy that car.
@@MrBellyman128 Yeah i love Dakar Yellow, but i had a F80 M3 not to long back and i ended up going individual Speed Yellow, I think Dakar suits the older cars but the newer M3/4 it looks to dull.
What a great video! I am still in love with my manual e92 M3. I have owned my 2013 competition package for 9 years and without question the most reliable car I have ever owned. In fact it is my daily driver. It’s funny I still catch myself looking back at the M3 when I park it. Who does that lol. No doubt this car is special and I love what Matt is doing to his M3.
Sir…I completely understand your emotions! People don’t understand what the love a car can do to you. Every time I drive my F83 Yas Marina Blue it just does somethin to me. When I hear it downshift it gives me goosebumps every damn time! Love the video my man!
Just watched this for the 3rd time now and it keeps getting better. Man that intro with Matt going…. “Yeah”…. I felt that. He was on the edge of tears almost? So good!!!!
10:35 min, I can relate so much to what your saying. This is exactly where I am at the moment with my C6 Z06. I love this car to bits, it was my dream car since I was 15 years old, I told everyone I met that one day I'm gonna own a C6 Z06. I don't come from a high income background and most people laughed at the idea. But I believed in it, I was unshakeable in my believe. This believe, this car led me to university and it was the driver for everything I strived for in life. And wouldn't you know it, in September 2018 I got a job as an engineer at VW. Two weeks after starting my new job a 2012 Centennial Edition C6 Z06 with Z07 Ultimate Performance Package came up for sale at one of the two big official Corvette dealers here in Germany. One owner, only 16.000 miles, completely stock, full service history. I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it pop up on my phone, I knew this was it. And that is exactly what I did. My ownership experience has been very much like yours with your first M3. The car owns me, I don't own the car. It's not at all how I invisioned it when I was dreaming about it, and that is not the cars fault. I hope I can come to better terms with it in the future because this car is such an important part of my life and I just want to enjoy it to the fullest and fullfil the dream of that young boy I was once was. Thanks Matt, there is not many people like you I can relate to when it comes to this, it shows me I'm not the only obsessed one out there.
The c5 z06 and 300zx are the ones that got me hooked. Im actively looking for one right now. Whichever i find first that fits my picky taste will be the one i cop.
@@TheMightiestBungholio don’t mean to be biased from owning one but I’d say the c5 zo6 is a lot better for the money. It’s fast in the canyons and in a straight line, but above all it is a RAW car, the most raw of any I’ve ever been in. It’s a special experience pushing it close to it’s limits, one that hasn’t grown old yet. and there’s a huge aftermarket, and responds amazing to simple mods
@@TheMightiestBungholio I am an owner of a 1990 300zx and it was my dream car as a child. Ive own it for 10 years buying it in 2010 with the first money i aaved up during my college internship, it needed work. I put it on the back burner for 4 years while i finished college and can attest that altho it is beautiful and has a special place in my heart, for raw performance the c5 is in a different class. However if performance is not the only thing you are after the 300zx is MILES better in finish and interior look and exterior design IMHO.
Wow this looks awesome. Camera work, editing, audio and everything is on point. First video I watched of you was the first garage tour, i think you had like 15-17k subscribers back then. And to see your progress with video quality, your life, family, and your cars makes this even more special for us that been with you for 7+ years. Cheers for many more years.
I couldn't put into words my love for the e92. I just knew that it was a beautiful car mechanically and stylistically. I'm currently in college so had to financed my first car, a 2008 BMW 335i in space gray. Unfortunately, I lost it to a wreck while having already fallen on some tough times. Though I knew that I couldn't give up on the platform so I ended up leaving school to work and buy another one out right which took me half a year. I worked my ass off to get my current 2008 BMW 335I in alpine white. I love the car to death but its the M3 that truly has my heart. This video gave me the words to describe what I couldn't before, what I already knew internally but couldn't express verbally. I know this is a long comment but this video truly put some things in perspective for me. I thought that since I had acquired my new 335i and gotten back to college (I should be studying) That, that was enough. its not. I didn't even know you were giving your pride and joy away but I have put in an entry (first time), and even in the event that I don't win I will still work to my goal of obtaining my own M3... and onwards from there. Thanks to those who sat down and read all of this, please, enjoy your day.
You probably won’t see this message, but I’ve never seen such passion on a utube car video’s “but a genuinely felt it with you” thank you 😊 you gota love ur first dream car 💙 and subsequent ones as well “for me over the years e30, e36, e46 & now e92 “cars make memories”
Really cool to see the growth of Matt and OG with the M3. This car was part of the progression of chasing perfection from something less than perfect. From the rage polish of can coat to the wash talks it’s all been a learning process. I think a lot of other can relate with that as well. Can’t wait to see who wins it!
Your story is just amazing. It's truly a person who really finds himself completely enjoying his experience of the world of elite sports cars, and more the encounter of the only BMW which those of us who know. The Ultimate Driving Machine, the only Driving Machine..!
That pause and then the "Yeah…" felt quite emotional, and I totally get it, especially talking about the M3 🙂 I've wanted an E92 M3 since I first drove one back in 2007, I've never stopped wanting one, it was really a dream car for me, and just over three years ago I picked up exactly what I wanted, an Edition Monte Carlo. Now, it's supercharged and I've turned it into pretty much my perfect M3, and, all being well, I never intend to sell it. It's very special to me. Thanks for sharing your passion - fantastic video, I really enjoyed it 🙂
@@ocarturoluna I went for G-Power (now Infinitas) because I got a good deal on it. Not the most powerful, but mine made 583hp on a Dyno Dynamics and it's enough! :D
@@ocarturoluna It's about 370lb ft - that's definitely made a big difference to how the car drives, it feels a lot more responsive and much stronger in the midrange.
This is an awesome video. These are my feelings and goals of buying an Aston Martin Vantage! And it turned out to be so much more! First time taking a car to a drive in movie theatre, first time having a car that made people turn their heads and take pictures, first time actually researching how to DIY and proper routine cleaning and first time ceramic coating, then first time getting into track days and absolutely loving the car even more due to finding how a car truly handles, taking cross country trips listening to James Bond audibles and never having read the books before, modding the car to my taste, and first time ever putting a car on the dyno and people whipping their phones out to record. An absolute milestone in my life.
I think its kinda cheesy to aspire to be someone else but matt, you instill inspiration in younger gentlemen like myself who share the same love, obsessiveness for perfection and just down right enjoyment of things/cars. Ive been following you since the “beginning” of OG and watched your progression and if your story doesn’t inspire someone I don’t know what will. I can only HOPE to continue the le mans’ journey into my journey as well.
Incredible video. Thanks for the content. A ton in common, but I had a slightly different path to the my E92. 06 Si, 07 Accord V6, 6Speed, 05 S2000, 11 335iS, 13 M3 in 2015 at 30 years old. Still have it. 61k mikes. Alpine White over Fox Red - ZCP DCT. Carbon Roof. Carbon Leather trim. Full Bavsound Audio. Apple Car Play retrofit, M Perf Exhaust, Eventuri Plenum/Intake, Dinan ECU and DCT tunes. Thanks for opening up about your OCD and explaining your story. I too sold my M3 for an F series. Then tracked down a replica of my old M3. Took the train from Boston to Philly and bought it sight unseen from the advice of of an enthusiast. Drove it from Boston to SoCal last year and it was awesome. My mind is blown over how similar our stories are. Wow! Just wow!
As someone who edits car content for a living and as an OG customer who bought some merch to get in on the raffle… this video is extremely well done. Kudos kindred spirits!!!

Love it! Your story is so similar to mine. From e36 to e92 to M4. Now we have 5 bimmers between me, my wife, and kids - basically our own family BMW club. Love your content. Keep pursuing the ultimate in the ultimate driving machines!
Great video, I can totally relate. I still don't have my M3 but I do finally have my first BMW (foreign car). Hoping to join you in M3 ownership soon. Cheers!
This video spoke to me in every way. M3 is my first love of car, and not any bmw but have to be an m3. When I graduated from high school, working as a dish washer seeing my boss wife drive a melbourne red e 92 m3..... I told myself, one day I will buy an m3. I almost bought one and ended up with a b8 s4 because the m3 price range was out of reach and thought that an audi s4 quattro would do it for me. Love my s4 every second of it but now that i some extra cash, I am ready for my first m3. Thank you for sharing this video.
I'm new to Obsessed Garage. I just want to thank you, Matt for sharing that video and some intimate details of some struggles that you've had with OCD. I'm older now but still have some lingering characteristics of OCD which have been a positive in some ways. I would venture to say, without those obsessions you wouldn't be the successful businessman you are today. I think I got a little dust in my eye while watching that, thinking of my own weaknesses. LOL. Good luck and congrats. I hope you and your wife all the best as she experienced this with you.
Your story is amazing, really inspiring. This year I'm going to buy an M3 E92, drove one and fell in love with it. I think the car are meant to be driven, and I'm going to drive my to the limit, of course it's going to brake, but that's a part of the journey, it brakes you fix it, you add something to it, and the process repeats. Take the worst case scenario, I crash it, I would be really mad, probably like I never been, but as much as I love cars, you can always replace/repair them and make it your own.
Also I think a part of the happiness that a car brings it's letting other people drive it, and enjoy it, because they will be inspired to work harder and get one.
This video speaks volumes and it’s an amazing testament to what cars do for us as a person. How it connects us with others to fellowship, network, and develop as individuals. I salute you Bro because this story definitely reminds me of me, and certainly reminds all of us of how positive this community really is 👊🏽💯
This video oozes passion. Being a fellow passionate BMW E92 M3 fan I can feel every word has been spoken from the heart with the utmost love and passion one can have. I aspire to one day own an E92 M3 and I will make that happen no matter what. Kudos to your story, beautiful. 🙂
This video shows that personality of someone who has a bmw because he loves that bmw. This is the person who loves bmw and who didn't buy a bmw, just to tell or show someone, look, I have a bmw. This is a real bmw gourmand who knows what he has in the garage and who enjoys that bmw. Good luck, the video is great! greetings from Croatia.
One of this videos that I’ll watch over and over, this is amazing. You should do this for all your cars, lol. Again video is just amazing, from all the giveaways, and I have enter all of them, this is the car man, would be awesome to have it. As I mentioned on another video, glad you brought the digital entry. Great stuff Matt 👍
What a beautiful story. Wish it was my BMW story… I recently bought a ‘07 328xi coupe with 144k miles. Well kept car, drove great on the test drive. I took it home a few days later for it to brake down in my driveway. Driving on a bad CV joint caused a probable transmission problem to form causing the car to not even drives in gear. Also experiencing a bunch of other smaller issues like the mirror folding malfunction, windshield washer fluid crack, and needing a new battery. Hopefully the car can rebound. 🙏
Great video. There is just something about the E9X M3 that stays with you. Something simple yet thrilling. There is nothing else like the E9X M3, and there may never be anything like it again.
This guy is an excellent example… of why not to get married… remember fellas, they only want to for what you can provide. So provide for yourself and enjoy life. NEVER SETTLE!
@@ObsessedGarage Yes it is, but unfortunately this is our reality. Our world is a terrible place my friend, look around you! Now don’t get me wrong you did very well for yourself, but you could have been so much more… seriously think about it. Imagine the unrestricted version of yourself! 💯
Can't praise Matt's story enough. The E9x M3 was also one of my dream cars back when it released back when I was in middle school - I used to play BMW M3 Challenge on my dad's laptop those days. 12 years later, there's an E90 M3 sitting in my garage and I remember the same feelings of it being the culmination of finally getting what I chased. I have the same anxiety sometimes about damage. It's that feeling that gives the desire to have it perfect all the time and the anxiety of dings/people touching it or hitting it, etc. It's something I've also had and this story helps me remember that as important as it is, it's also important to enjoy it. That's why we had dreams about these cars in the first place.
My e92 335i was the first car I bought out of University as a gift to myself for working hard. I wanted an M3 so bad, but I knew I couldn't afford it. The e92 335i that I still have since that day has also changed my life. Cars aren't the same anymore. The e92 M3 will always be one of the sexiest, and engaging drivers car out there, and if I am fortuned enough to somehow win this giveaway, this e92 M3 will always be obsessed with. Great Video as always!
In 2019 I was in the marine corps and I had wanted a car. I drove my parents’ trucks in high school but I’ve never had my own. All I knew is that I wanted a V8 and a manual transmission. The car I had gotten was a 2012 E92 M3. Never heard of it but I test drove it and instantly fell in love. I hate what she does to my wallet but good god she is so much fun to drive. I still have it and for as much head and heartache she’s gives me I can honestly say I’m glad she was my first. Now I’m working on getting a cheaper car that I can enjoy. I think I’m gonna go for a Hyundai Tiburon.
@@ObsessedGarage I highly doubt that I’ll enjoy they Hyundai more than the M3. But I believe it would be a nice “sportier” little car to introduce my little sister to cars and manual driving.
This video made me happy. I'm always having to convince myself that my joys are coming after all these years of hard work and time put into studying. Sometimes I fall and my mind runs to these thought that I'm so far from where I thought I would be now at 25. Just seeing your patience is comforting. The idea of only getting that dream car at 31 seems so "wrong" to me because of what I see everyday around me. I just gotta wait a little. I just have to be a little more determined.
Love this video. My first car was a 318ti that i absolutely loved. I was 20 years old. I drive a 08 335xi now almost a decade later and I’m absolutely in love with the car.
The production quality on this is top notch. Well done, guys. Like someone else had already mentioned, there's that one car that connects in ways nothing else ever does, embodying intangible life elements and passions. That was made so clearly through telling the story of the M3 here. Great stuff. And that first minute...the paused "yeah..."... I get it, because I've been there.
Matt I had to comment. I’ve watched you from the beginning and this video made me feel a way. The same way when I first sat in my BMW in 2002. This is the best video you guys have ever produced.
I just bought my very first car at 24 years old. 2010 BMW M3 E92 in LeMans Blue. Every single thing you said in this video hit home and I couldnt describe the feeling any better. I have not been diagnosed with OCD but the way you talk about your M3 is exactly how I feel in this exact moment. Im going to reflect on the lesson you learned so I too, can learn and enjoy the car for what is and not over obsess over it and miss out on what has been my dream car since i was 14 years old.
I’ve now owned, 5 E9x M3s. I also dreamt of owning an E46 M3 and it was my first love towards German cars and BMW but the E9x was the first I dreamt of. I’ve owned them, modified them, sold them in search of bigger and better. I now daily drive a 340i xdrive with a 6mt, I have a 992 gt3 sitting in my garage with 90 miles on it, begging to be driven but Chicago weather won’t allow it at the moment, and finally my 2011.75 M3 sedan 6mt in lemans blue. Bought it at 32k miles, currently at 43k miles, full eventuri intake and plenum, Stoptech 6/4 kit, pulley, downpipes, tune, swift springs, corsa axel back, volk te37s, entirely how I wanted it to be from day 1. I fully understand your journey with this car, despite my fleet, this is the car to keep forever. Enjoy your new one in good health, it’s new, it’s low miles, it’s clean, GREAT. Now drive the shit out of it!!!
Your OCD is not a negative, it's a gift that allows you to see things in a completely different way. Your story is great but I'm sure your story has many more achievements to come.
Hi matt, I’m your subscriber for many years, the first video I saw of you was when you had the white F80 M3 and you made a video of pressure washing the engine, I had already told you this on occasion, i remember that everyone commented and said that it was dangerous and that you could hydroblock the engine... since then I have had an obsession with my BMW E90 6 speed manual and felt your same pain of being afraid to take my impeccable car anywhere to avoid dents in the doors or that someone would take pictures and touch the windows with his dirty hands while looking inside it... now I have a F36 440i in tanzanite blue with the 666M wheels in 20 inches and my passion is now even bigger! This documentary is awesome and you have spoken for all of us who are tirelessly passionate about cars! Excellent job with the video, I’m honestly in tears because i know perfectly how it feels and how a car can change absolutely your life for better! 👏

I don't see the hate for the Aztec honestly, it's a unique design, the quintessential mid 2000s GM vehicle design. Gives me a bit of nostalgia.
WW.
mine was a 2010 subaru legacy😭
Yeah especially if it’s a beige Pontiac aztek!
I subscribed many years ago, besides being great ambient noise I realised I too have OCD tendencies about keeping things in pristine condition, fortunately I don't have anything nice to keep nice LOL
Much love from Brighton UK.
This is by far the best video ever made by this guy. If you are a car guy you need to watch this channel.
"...embodiment of what I aspire to be as a human".. never thought of it like that, but that nails it!
This video was amazing. As someone who's dream it is to own an e92 m3, this video once again reminded me why i love this car. Thank you!
you'll get there buddy. took me a while but my god.
Best color ever
Same for me, except I wanted the sonic blue with gray Vader seats. I was obsessed, and still am. I was around 14 also, daydreaming of joining the army just to buy that car.
@@mandoblack8654 thats such a boot thing to do lmao
@@MrBellyman128 Yeah i love Dakar Yellow, but i had a F80 M3 not to long back and i ended up going individual Speed Yellow, I think Dakar suits the older cars but the newer M3/4 it looks to dull.
@@MrBellyman128 at least it wasn’t a Camaro or challenger
So good!!!!
The interesting part about the intro it that we were simply talking about what the intro should be. I didn't even know the camera was rolling.
@@ObsessedGarage that takes great directing. Wonderful
latest m5 cs, m5 e60 and this E92...engineering masterpieces these are.

What a wonderful thing to see someone show true love for that which is your dream….
Its so rare when something is actually able capture my attention. Such a great documentary.
Thanks!
What a story! Thank you for sharing! I just finally got my first M3 2008 E93, manual... at 47 yo and it feels like dream come true!
Matts emotion gave me chills. Man I love this guy
I could feel it through the screen!

You probably won’t see this message, but I’ve never seen such passion on a utube car video’s “but a genuinely felt it with you” thank you 😊 you gota love ur first dream car 💙 and subsequent ones as well “for me over the years e30, e36, e46 & now e92 “cars make memories”
Thanks for watching.
Thanks man!

Matt & Obsessed Garage have come so far, well done.
The E92 is a special car,loved mine.
I'm obsessed with cars... especially older BMWs, it's a disease that my wife and family don't understand. I need a support group! 😆

I salute you Bro because this story definitely reminds me of me, and certainly reminds all of us of how positive this community really is 👊🏽💯
Like you video. I have a 2009 e 92 M3 . I love the car . 22,000 miles . Good luck with you new M 3 .
Great video guys. Production quality off the charts.
This video oozes passion. Being a fellow passionate BMW E92 M3 fan I can feel every word has been spoken from the heart with the utmost love and passion one can have. I aspire to one day own an E92 M3 and I will make that happen no matter what. Kudos to your story, beautiful. 🙂

This was an insane production! Way to go OG team on telling such an amazing story.

As I mentioned on another video, glad you brought the digital entry. Great stuff Matt 👍
Best looking m3 in my opinion. No bad angles, everything is perfect. A masterpiece.
This was an epic video. Cant believe I never saw it 2 years ago.
Great video. There is just something about the E9X M3 that stays with you. Something simple yet thrilling. There is nothing else like the E9X M3, and there may never be anything like it again.

NO WAY! I thought I was the only one who remembered that game 😭 I spent hours playing that 🥺
too bad they’re all 150k miles or salvaged… then even if they’re not you could buy something way better for 35+
1.) There are plenty of clean examples on the market today.
2.) There's nothing you can buy for $35-40k that's better than an E92 M3.
A Hyundai and a BMW are worlds apart. I'm not sure if you would enjoy that nearly as much.
@@ObsessedGarage I highly doubt that I’ll enjoy they Hyundai more than the M3. But I believe it would be a nice “sportier” little car to introduce my little sister to cars and manual driving.
That's a fair point.
I appreciate that!
Tears... genuine tears of joy
Thank you, probably the best video you’ve uploaded of all time. Really hit home with your OCD about taking care of your car!
