In DD I'd argue Phoenix, Athena, Apollo. In SoJ I'd argue Athena, Apollo, Phoenix. What they did to Athena's theme was amazing, but I don't like the changes to Phoenix's.
I actually think I like Phoenix's the most in both games. Secondly is Athena in both games. Third is Apollo's. I really don't like Apollo or his theme. Loud Boy's Chords of Steel really get on my nerves.
I hope the next game has more of a focus on Athena. In both games she's been in, you only play her for 2 and a half trials. In the dual destinies tutorial, Phoenix takes over for her, and in case 4 of SOJ, she gets way too much help from Blackwill, and the case is so short there's not even an investigation part.

They represent primary colors, Phoenix is blue, Apollo red and Athena Yellow They also have the other two colors as highlights elsewhere, Phoenix has a red tie along with a yellow badge and locket, Apollo has a blue tie and yellow badge and yellow bracelet, and lastly Athena has a blue tie, blue bow, blue cuffs and red hair Speaking of their hair, that's another Easter egg. Phoenix has one spike over his forehead, Apollo had two "horns" and Athena had three (not including sideburns) 1-2-3 in order of appearance It's really amazing how much thought was put into the character design here

AND I HATE how in turnabouy time traveler, she's shoved to the side so many times. she couldve been a second assistant. there has been many times when phoenix has had two assistants by his side. but NO, they had to clumsily push her away on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. if athena doesnt get a bigger role in the next game, whenever that happens, I'm going to cry
Well to be fair, I feel as though Apolll Justice has a more complete arc now and could be sunset/retired from the series, or simply given his own separate spinoff. That might give way for Athena to take over spotlight a bit more.
That was my biggest gripe with 6-6, it’s as if the writers were making it obvious that they were intentionally shoving Athena to the bench for that whole case, and it’s during a case where I feel like Athena and Widget would’ve been perfect

Athena, by far to me the best Ace Attorney female character now, has a theme that shows she left the past behind and is ready to start anew. She is still learning, and will have some growing pains keeping her own emotions in check better when an argument blows her contradictions. She is well on her way though, one day, she will have to face Simon on her own and she will defeat him and prove herself as an equal. She's got the skills, and the tech, she just needs to build her confidence more. Her determination to do this is what this theme represents to me. Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney please, Capcom?

Mizu It took me a little longer to get used to her but now I really liked her. You know why I think she wasn't so good before? Not game quality but because she had a horrible trauma, remember that Phoenix had to break Black Psylocks to free her.

I wish there was a bit more of Athena in SoJ, but I guess it makes sense that it’s kinda more of a AJ:AA game. To be honest, I kind of disliked Athena before playing Dual Destinies but she really grew on me and I enjoyed all the cases with her and the mood matrix. I‘m glad they gave her and Blackquill that small case, I wish there had been an investigation but I still think it was awesome and enjoyed it a lot!

Kinda ironic that i think this objection theme is the best in SoJ but Athena is my least favorite Attorney. (Its not that i dislike her, but)
Mizu It took me a little longer to get used to her but now I really liked her. You know why I think she wasn't so good before? Not game quality but because she had a horrible trauma, remember that Phoenix had to break Black Psylocks to free her.

I wish there was a bit more of Athena in SoJ, but I guess it makes sense that it’s kinda more of a AJ:AA game. To be honest, I kind of disliked Athena before playing Dual Destinies but she really grew on me and I enjoyed all the cases with her and the mood matrix. I‘m glad they gave her and Blackquill that small case, I wish there had been an investigation but I still think it was awesome and enjoyed it a lot!
