    Well done to Porsche for bringing out a manual T at the beginning of the .2 model cycle rather than right at the end, when people are naturally waiting for an all-new model. Great touch with the walnut-laminated gearstick.

    Good to see a cab version. For all the dynamic compromises, driving with the top down, and windows down with no silly wind deflector, is so much fun.

    My god man, you are the channel that broguht me the news on the new Carrera T, thanks.
    The Carrera T is my favorite 911 variant (Outside of the S/T, and maybe tied with the GT3/GT3 Touring) the only one I would buy.
    AND THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST CARRERA T YET.
    Manual only, A 6-SPEED MANUAL. (And with the many manual logos every where this feels like a celebration of the manyal transmission, perhaps as a send off to the greatest transmission of them all.)
    And with now having a Cabriolet version? My god, I know driver's cars are not convertibles but the joy of having the roof down does not diminish the experience, it's a trade-off. Less chassis rigidity for a closer experience to nature and the sound of your car. I am so glad there's a Carrera T Cabriolet variant now.
    This is the first time I have been exited for a 992.2 model (Including the GT3) and this may be the only Manual Variant in the new 911 range outside of the GT3 variants.
    Edit: I forgot to write this, but I think I may like the Carrera T more than I like the GT3. Simple looks, simple interior, manual transmission, which are all things the GT3 has, but the Soft Suspension, base engine so it isn't too fast for the road, way less expensive, you don't have to fight for an allocation as much, they aren't limited, this is just perfect in my mind, I only hesitate to say this because I do love the regular GT3 bumpers and wing and of course that sound, but just take the sound away and I don't care about the GT3 anymore.
    So yeah, maybe, the Carrera T and the S/T are my favorite variants of 911. (If you think about it, the S/T is just the Carrera T concept applied to the GT3 range instead of the normal 911 range)

    Absolutely don't understand why anyone hates the 7 MT. It's an utter joy to shift. The 992.1 T is a magical formula. hard to describe; must be experienced. convinced me to go T, albeit I bought the older one.

    • @diegodivers
      @diegodivers 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The gearbox is great but not the best, especially compared to a GT3. The seventh gear is really in odd place I never got completely used to it. Luckily you don‘t have us it, if you don‘t want it ;-) and from 1-5 it is good. BTW the new 6-speed gearbox is not the one from the GT cars.

    • @alpnstr
      @alpnstr 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@diegodivers ok I can see the 6 MT GT3 is better but I think that's also when matched to the GT3 motor. On the GT4, well everyone already complains. I do agree the 7th is useless in America; it's really the autobahn commuting gear. But 1-5 on the T is super well matched to the 3.0 TT. Can actually use 2-4 on mountain roads!

    • @RR911T

      I use the 7th gear to save gas on long freeway drives to save (expensive) fuel. I have 2600 miles on my 992.1 T I picked up in July. Great transmission. Because I love the high-revving sound- I usually blast around town in 2nd & 3rd gears, but the upper gears for the freeway I love them.

    It might this time be the only manual in the regular Carrera line up, the way the celebrate that. I could imagine the S shows also a form of hybridization but only in combination with the pdk and also with less additional power than in the GTS. This could also explain, why the announced the T so early. Also be aware that in several European countries very prohibitiv (France up to 70’000 Euros for a regular 911) import laws an co2 fees are just around the corner and the new Euro 7 standards are luring in the shadows. When we're talking high performance, the picture changes. When I bought my M2, I had the choice of waiting 9 months for a manual, or getting a DCT immediately. I went for instant gratification, figuring I could always flip the car if I hated the paddles. After 3 weeks I found myself thinking, "Why would you handicap this car with a stick?" So, when I went to buy a 718 4.0, I drove it with both transmissions, and felt the same as I had with the M2.

      @@jamesburrell8782 maybe just buy a wooden gear knob from the tuning store. Just kidding… Go and get one of those glorious GT3 Touring, while there‘s a chance.

    135k though . Still love it but my m3 will smoke it. Porsche is the goat in sports cars no doubt about it . Super cars don’t excite me . However the price is insane . It is not 50k better . I understand Porsche is Porsche but a T should be a car your upper middle class should be able to obtain.

    Love everything about this car except the hp/torque figures. It’s not that difficult to squeeze out extra hp/tq numbers with turbo engines! Similar to the Macan T, this car needs additional hp/tq numbers to separate it more from their base models/versions. Not enough performance/sound to excite me, unfortunately. YMMV.

    Great review. The packaging is reasonable however I’m not a fan of the rear steer being mandatory. Also nearing 1500 kg’s is getting up there.

    M2 will murder the Carrera T & i love Porsche

      I understand the appeal of the M2 as it's outstanding value for quality. But I just sold my F87 and bought a 991.2 T. The M2 may edge the 911 in a straight line but really not anywhere else. 911 stands out particularly in driver experience and engagement.

    I play alot of video games and none of them come with an outdated slow manual transmission. Why do drivers want to go slower in a sports car?

    A car for the purists? Come on, it’s a luxury vehicle with every nanny in existence. Been a Porsche fan and owner for years and since the 992, Ive had no desire for a new one. I race my Porsche and rarely see new ones yet 996’s abound on the track. I guess the demographics have changed.

    This is a very boring and unimaginative design! Hasn't changed in decades, surely they can do better for the kind of money they are asking imo. There are just so many cars with style that takes your breath away, this is just, well, blah.

      Agree. Any older 911… or sports car in general id want PDK. But these transmissions are just SO SO good… why settle for 2nd best when you’re buying a top car like this

      Yes PDK is superior in shifting speed.. manual is just different level when shifting.. if has to be explained you will never get it .
