The P30sk is my primary carry piece. Perfect balance of size, concealability, felt recoil, and next level quality. I do like my P365X as well but it’s my #2.

I agree, I take a #2 almost every day and it's often in the shape of a P365X.

I've owned a P30 for a long time and it's one of my favorite guns. It is a bit chunky for conceal carry especially in AZ where I usually wear gym shorts during summer. I recently got a Sig P365XL which is a lot easier to conceal and isn't a bad shooter. I like both guns each is appropriate for different types of weather.

I carry versions of both of these pistols. They are both excellent, in very different ways. And, one cannot factually argue against the commercial success of the P365 series.

Both are top notch imo. If possible...pick up both. I really like the P365 XL. It is hard to beat a DA/SA for concealed carry, so the HK rocks in that regard.

    I generally prefer SIG.
    But not this time!!
The P30SK is a SUPERIOR pistol with inferior aftermarket support.
In comparison, the P365 is an INFERIOR pistol with superior aftermarket support.
The P30SK is a military pistol that is factory tested out to 25 yards
The P365 is not a military pistol and IS NOT factory tested to 25 yards.
If your life really depends upon it - choose the P30SK.
If you just want to carry any old gun - choose the P365.

Oh the drama! Yes, so many self-defense scenarios at 25 yards……I own both of these, and they each have distinct strengths and weaknesses. Your final conclusion is just silly.

You were right, I wasn't interested in comparison. However, I watched your interesting comparison and enjoyed it. I have a P365 with a 12 rd mag with mag sleeve. I also have the P30SK V3. Although I prefer to like the P230SK more, but like you, the P365 wins with its light weight weight and thinness. Both have been very reliable, with no issues. My P30SK V3 came with 2 13 rd mags and 1 15 rd mag. As a side note, for 4 o'clock CC, I prefer the shorter grip over the P365 with 12 rd. extension over the XL. I also picked up a p365-380 ACP and enjoy it with 380 +P ammo.

I pocket carry my P365 with its external safety on. Shoots accurately and reliability & comes out of the pocket fairly easily. When I carry OWB I carry my tricked out P365XL with a Wilson Combat grip module, sandpaper Talon grips, Tactical trigger mod, 4.25" threaded SS True Precision barrel with a Lakeline mini comp. More power, better accuracy, easy shooting, competition tested.

  • @cbwelch4
    @cbwelch4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I had just the opposite experience. I have learned the 2A/SA trigger cadence on my Beretta 92 FS. So although the Sig trigger is better. Love the flat triggers on Sigs, and yeah they are better, but I can rock a 2A/SA trigger and even the V3 (the LEM trigger is light and crisp) triggers smooth out when they wear in so I learned the V3 trigger which isn't as nice as the flat Sig trigger, but the V3 is smooth, just long with a ton of take up and a meh wall. The VP9 has a much better trigger. However I shoot the P30 much better than the P365 XL because the ergos are so much better and it stays planted in the hand. The P30/VP9 (almost the same) ergos are second to none to me (have both). I wear XL gloves so thin guns move around more in my hands. The P30 stays planted and on target. A better comparison is my P320c Pro with the flat trigger. It is thicker but I have a better time of it with the X-grip, which does have good ergos and I shoot it really well. A tad better than the P30sk because that Sig trigger is nice, but it is close. I will always carry the P30sk preferentially because the 2A/SA is safer and that gun carries OK in a good holster. The P365 has more horizontal stringing for me because my hands need more real estate. The P30 stays planted and I get a better grip on it than the P365XL which is narrower. BTW - my P320c Pro has never gone off by itself in two years of use and carry. Go figure. It is also a really good shooter and the trigger is 5 lbs. which is not too light, but I prefer 2A/SA for carry.

I'll never carry a SIG polymer pistol. They beta tested on their customers. No way. I like their metal guns and, especially, their 1911s. Not a fan of striker-fired guns. I have several HK pistols. You need to practice a LOT. Striker-fired guns are almost like cheating with their light triggers. DA/SA will teach you how to be a better shooter, but you NEED to put the work in. I love my p30sk V3 (no manual safety). I'd never carry a P365. I'd carry ANY of my HKs. You do you. I don't judge. Don't judge me.

I carry both of these and own several more DA/SA’s. The reality is most shooters can’t or won’t put in the time to become proficient with the HK’s trigger. That, and a distinct advantage in size, weight, and price are why strikers now dominate the carry market.

Great comparison and review! I own both as well. HK may be a bit better quality but like you I find I shoot the P365 much better. Also the slimmer profile of the Sig makes it so much nicer to carry. Both great pistols. Best advice - try before you buy and get the one that you shoot best.
