This method worked for my 2016 (2011-2017) Odyssey, HOWEVER, the window track locking nut is located on the same "face" as the actual latch and the bolt is behind a rubber plug. It was really hard working inside the door and on the later model the interior of the door is much "tighter" than this one. It's a reasonable job but the window bracket and much more closed off door interior are the pain points on the later vehicle. It's done...but more to it than what you watch here...AND THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO.
@@acetechauto7 I'm sorry, I was looking for the same type of part for a 2011 Odyssey. Driver's side sliding door, not the front latch but the rear latch to keep the door all the way closed.
Oh sorry I don’t have it for that year. If you call Honda and give them your vin number, they should be able to get you that part number. Good luck with the repair!
This worked really well!!! Although in my case I removed the 2 or 3 small Phillips head screws on the plastic latch cover once I removed it from the van and I was able to flush it with lots of spray lube and get mine working again. Even the front latch worked after that. But I couldn’t have done it without your videos for guidance.
@@desertduck4177 a lot of wd 40 it was out of convenience. i would have probably used tri lube if i had it handy to leave some teflon behind. but it didn't give me any trouble after i got it working.
Great video. Do got one question. When i open my manual sliding door the back will pop open but front won't let the door open what would that be? Just replaced the exterior door handle to.
So if I have a powered door but the door motor doesn't slide anymore the back latch won't work? I ordered the whole latch inside the door like you did but for the auto. Will it latch?
If you have an issue with just the powered motor not working you can just cut the cables that come out to the upper door hinge and your door should operate manually no problem.
@acetechauto7 i will try that. Right side opens fine. Left side motor quit and recently back end of the door won't latch (feont latches fine) and battery dies.
@@acetechauto7 Was this the case with this van? >>> This latch going out causes a parasitic draw on the battery (fuse #7) being the latch / latch position no longer sends correct signal to electronic motor / door opening /closing mechanisms.... pretty common on these Odysseys

It depends where the issue is if it’s cable related or the latch itself but either way you’ll have to somehow get that door panel of in place or break it to get to the latch.
@@acetechauto7 so I removed the door panel, but im guessing my door latches are holding it? Idk I can NOT open the door to save my life, ive looked into countless forums nothing doors just jammed shut.
That’s a tough situation. You can try one person pulling on the release cable and the other trying to pry on the door. There really is no easy way out in your situation. If that doesn’t work then you’ll have to try to get in there and break apart the door latch.
What if you can't open the sliding door at all? I'm stuck. Mine is 2006 as well with manual sliding doors and can't get the damn thing to open. Help!!!😢
Are you able to share what the part number was for this? Having a hard time tracking it down. Everybody defaults to a different part, just a roller piece, not this much larger piece.

My 2007 has the automatic power sliding door. I cut the cables off to make it manual. Can I use this part instead, or do I need the one with 2 cables?
It might work as the cable for the door latch on it should be the same.

Yes it would be the same for that year also
