I can kind of imagine why he'd do it, if you have a really fucked up relationship with your parents and are so mentally ill that you no longer think straight... I at one point intended to kill myself, make sure my mom would find my body and write on my Facebook that my parents were not allowed to cry because it was all their fault... I obviously didn't do it and by now I wouldn't even think of doing it anymore, but I know that I've seriously considered it and kids have been through worse stuff than me

The first lady may have seen a large insect or (if there's a window in the bathroom) a large animal. She could've also heard a gunshot close by. A lot of stuff startles people. It's kinda sad that it took four months for her to be found, though.

It sadly happens with very isolated people.
I remember a story like that with an old man who died at his home suddenly (heart attack IIRC). All his bills were automatically paid via pre-set transfers so no one noticed anything amiss. That was the case until a bird entered the apartment through a window that had stayed open and accidentally turned on the radio at full blast. After three days of nonstop music the neighbors called the cops who breached the door and found the man's mummified corpse as by then he had been dead for three years :\

We learned about a case similar to that one. It was a forensic science camp I went to in the summer. The guy teaching it explained that a case he was worked where the guy took a bite out of a block of cheese. So they compared to DNA on the cheese to the person of interest. That’s how the guy got caught.

there is a criminal minds episode about it that actually explains pretty well how it works and what happens. apparently when you choke yourself (especially with a belt) the body obviously doesn't get oxygen so what the brain does is self preservation gone wrong. The brain is the most important part of the body and lack of oxygen is funest for it so what the brain does when there is a lack of oxygen is 'cut off' the arms and legs so the oxygen can go to the brain. The problem being that by cutting off the arms and legs their oxygen it makes them weak and you end up unable to undo the self strangulation. so basically you hang there weak as a kitten (it takes a couple minutes to die) while you slowly choke to death being fully aware of what is happening and yet completely helpless to stop it. It is actually pretty terrifying.

After a couple weeks it didn’t happen yet so he goes to the top of the building and jumps, halfway down he gets shot and killed. It was the his father having finally shot the gun in an argument. Problem is, if he wasn’t shot he would’ve lived due to a safety net out there for construction so was it murder or still suicide (saying as he loaded the gun in the first place)?

No one in my family can understand how I can tolerate hearing such graphic stories about death/injury. I don’t enjoy that these horrible things happen to people but it interests me to know what’s going on out there in the world around me. I’m 52 and have some health issues and severe, debilitating pain from a serious back and neck injury 11 years ago and I think listening to these stories actually keeps me grounded realizing that there are people much worse off than I am. I was also in a very serious car accident at age 2 in which my mother was badly injured and my 2 month old brother was killed. I spent an incredible amount of time in the hospital due to a serious head injury and something sparked in my soul to want to work in the medical profession. I was actually a Professional Pet Groomer but I worked most of my career in animal hospitals and was trained as a vet tech as well so I did get that dream fulfilled if working in medicine and I feel that because of that I just have this burning desire to hear about this type of stuff. I also used to watch the Investigation Discovery channel constantly and my late fiancé (RIP Rex) would joke with me saying I was watching my “murder porn” Lol. Guess I’m just world that way! Lol

Read about a case that happened not too far from where I live. Many details were published in a book written by the ME who was involved in the case. Here goes...
Two dead homeless guys were found in a park, in sub-zero temperatures. Both were pretty badly beaten up - and butt naked. Their clothes were found around the area. Forensic examinations found a crazy high BAC in both individuals as well as clear signs of prolonged alcohol abuse.
It turned out the two had been on a bender together shortly before their bodies were found. They got into an argument at some point that turned violent. Evidence shows that they inflicted the injuries on each other. At some point, examiners determined they got tired and stopped fighting.
This is where the freezing temperatures come in. Apparently, someone who is severely hypothermic can feel like his body is on fire, shortly before losing consciousness. To remedy this, they remove their clothes. This phenomenon even has a name: „paradoxical undressing“. Things are in such cases exacerbated by alcohol consumption as you don’t feel how cold you are to begin with. As you may have known already, alcohol makes you feel warm (which is why drinking alcohol to get warm in a cold environment is just about the worst thing you can do).
And this is how you get two drunk, naked and very dead homeless guys in a park while it’s freezing cold..

His mom was freaked out and ran into his room right...at the wrong moment... The entire town mourned his death. To this day five years later it’s still raw for many people in town. It’s still talked about today. The dad is terrible and somehow has the rest of his kids wrapped around his finger. He was abusive and got away with it for many years!!
The mother is as sweet as can be!!! He has had a lot of trauma... Her ex, seeing her son-, her kids totally dumping her, Heath issues and the loss of her job. But yet she is always ready to help and care for anyone and everyone!!!

My grandfather fought for the Wehrmacht and saw some nasty things too. Before even seeing his first enemy, he joined a German unit which camped around a burning mayor's building. He then realized that the civilians were all stuffed inside and one woman jumped from the first floor window, stood up and ran towards him and collapsed there. Her face was already molten and she still burning...
They then managed to reclaim some territory they had lost earlier to the Soviets. Their path was marked by dead and dying Germans who had been nailed to walls and trees, flayed alive, or hung upside down over container so that they would drown in feces, when they ran out of strength...

My sociology professor told us about how she was involved in a fairly famous case in the 1970s. The background is a black man in I believe Chicago was late on payments and was confronted by a woman that worked for a collection firm. Things spiraled out of control and she was captured, stuffed inside the trunk of his car while he drove around for several days, only freed two times to be raped both times and eventually died where the man dumped the body. He was eventually caught and arrested, admitted to everything that he did, but pleaded not guilty because he claimed to do nothing wrong. After several psych tests, he was deemed completely sane and was telling the truth. He genuinely did not know capturing, torturing, raping a woman to death was wrong or even abnormal. It has became a widely discussed case study about how environment and upbringing can affect the judgement and outlook of an individual.

Not particularly a crazy one but definitely sad. My husband's cousin and fiance were having a baby and the boyfriend was too go home for the night the last night on the hospital after the baby was born and come back in the morning for discharge with the car seat and clothes for mom and baby. She waited for hours before being forced to call her sister for a ride home instead. When they arrived home the car was in the driveway with the items to be brought on the porch neatly placed. Sister went inside and couldn't find the fiance. She finally went to check outback and found the man had hung himself off the back porch! He left a note saying he wasn't good enough to be a father or fiancé and they deserved better. How awful too be waiting on your partner to go home as a family after giving birth only to be smacked with the loss of your love and realize you/ baby are alone and weren't enough for him to fight for and to stay and get help. Not to mention seeing him there dead when he knew you needed to be picked up and then love where you died and chose to leave them! 😢🥶

The suicide on a bridge is actually a Sherlock Holmes trope ( _The Problem of Thor Bridge_ ). The gun is tied to a rock hanging under the guardrail, so when the trigger is pulled, the gun is dragged into the river by the rope, making it look like a murder.
A real-life variation occurred in Florida, when a man shot himself with a gun tied to a weather balloon. The gun was never found, but Internet search history found he purchased a weather balloon and helium, and was contemplating suicide.

A really bizarre fact about plane crashes especially smaller aircraft…When a plane slams into the ground hard, it’s been demonstrated that the aluminum roofs of aircraft will cave in like a ball bouncing on impact. This only happens briefly, and often the roof resets afterwards leaving a cabin full of dead passengers with seemingly no cause. On closer inspection most if not all passengers had their necks or backs broken from the roof collapse. If you’ve ever flown on a commercial flight, they have those safety placards that show people bending over their knees while bracing for impact. This is partially why.

Sheriff pulled up in the driveway, heard the gunshot from there. Nearest he could tell, the guy had figured it would be better if his sheriff buddy found him immediately rather than some relative or other person at an indeterminate future date. Not really. Someone walked by, shoot this dude with a plastic bag over the gun and fled. The bullet may have hit a car, so that's why the cops didn't find the bullet as it was taken away unintended.
This cannot be deemed suicide anymore, even if you off yourself with a gun prepared that way, the enclosed space would leave even more noticeable marks on your hand. Also that bag has to go somethere when you are dead.
IMO, this was murder. Which would leave the question: why?
Exhibit B: His corpse was threwn out the car and left there.

One morning they found the body of an adult man who had hung himself on a lamp-post close to a small street.
The even sicker part- this street was rather small and right hetween a school and a childrens hospital, whose patients couldve literally looked outside and seen his body/him hanging himself.
Hospital workers discovered the man not too long after, sadly too late to rescue him, but also luckily still early in the morning where noone was awake/outside yet.
Still, I think of that as pretty fucked up in both ways-

Personal story. My grandad told me this a few days after the service but my Moms cousin was suffering from the worst depression imaginable, come to find out, he was extremely lonely at this time and had no one to talk to which further worsened then evolved into him listening and talking to himself while also hearing voices in his head. One day, he decided to go outside, find a tree and out himself. Idk how it went but soon after, the neighbors kids walked out and saw him still hanging there. He left his dog Sasha with our great aunt until she passed a while later from a heart attack while enroute to the hospital. Sasha, a typical American Boxer breed was pretty much the only thing he left behind. He was a pretty outgoing person, went to college, graduated, and all in all would hit up conversations with anyone anywhere no matter what. He was the party type of person. He traveld a butt ton aswell.

There were 3 kids in the back. The baby was spread out over 3 feet, about 2 inches depth. The two older kids, about 12 and 13 years old, were together in a space that was about 18 inches by 10 inches. Both of them.

When you hear a news story about a kid dying from playing "the choking game"... if they're alone in their bedroom, they weren't playing a game. The family just doesn't want to admit that their kid was into autoerotic asphyxiation. The same kind of shame that led them to not educate their child well enough to understand better ways of masturbating leads them to cover up the real reason, which just serves to perpetuate ignorance of the dangers of autoerotic asphyxiation, leading eventually to even more dead kids.

At some point during the binge, the guy wasnt in his right mind and wrapped cellophane over women's face. She died in the sex swing and the guy was so high he didn't realize she was dead and continued to have sex with the body. When he sobered up, the woman is 3 days dead and still in the swing, her insides had been slowly started falling out due to gravity. He calls 911, later cleared of any wrong doing and woman's death declared an accident. Less than a year later, the guy's body comes in to the coroner, what happened had really messed with him and he committed suicide

We had one guy who, i guess, had committed sewerslide with big pew pew. l don't really know because we didn't really get any DC or identifying info unless there was a hospital band. But his head from the jaw up was basically hamburger meat.
My teachers just started soaking cotton in metasyn and stuffing it down into what was left of the skull. They made a kind of head shape with it and we started putting pieces of whatever we could find together, like a puzzle.
The finished product resembled a head and face, but with no idea what the person originally looked like, i have no way of knowing if it did any good or not. I also don't know what happened to that person, if they were returned to family for disposition or what. We had a lot of unclaimed decedents.
