Does anyone know where I can get a replacement pic for the back of the key fob? And thank you for the battery replacement video, it kept me from breaking the whole enchilada !
I did a trial run as my 2016 is 4 YO now. When I took the fob apart and put back together the plastic piece that is the release for the key had fallen out. Put it back on and put fob together; but, release did not work. Is there a tiny spring missing perhaps?
Not that iblnow of. Maybe look on eBay for a second hand replacement. It is also possible something slipped out of position when you put it back together.

Hello sir I have a 2016 Corvette with 2 keys. For some reason I have to play around with the car before it is detected. it happens with both keys. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Go ahead and replace the batteries in each one. If that does not work, reprogram the key by following the owners manual.
@@TheWhatisright thanks for quick reply. I forgot to mention it only happens when left overnight and I try in the morning. Do you think it is loosing power overnight?
It is possible that they drain a little. However, they do not change during the day so not likely. I would just change out the batteries just in case. A replacement FOD battery does not cost much.
Still valid (except the circuit board popped out). I wonder if it's the proximity that kills our batteries.
I need help!! My wife and I just inherited her Dads 2015 Z06 corvette. The spare FOB would not work. So I thought it wasn’t programmed so I tried following instructions to reprogram by turning key 5 times the the message message appeared on to insert steering column slot but I didn’t do it in time. Then I changed the battery and that’s all that was wrong with it. But now the car will not start either remotely or pushing break then start button on dashboard. It’s not the car battery. I think I messed up programming some how on car.
I noticed you used a small screw driver to remove the battery. On page 2-9 of the owner's manual it specifically instructs you not to use a metal object to remove the battery. Any comment on that?

Wish it wasn't made out of such cheap plastic. Now I have a crack that goes through half of the front plastic cover. It is what it is.
Marcin, I agree. The plastic is thin. I have done several of then and luckily the plastic did not crack.

It's worth testing the battery for proper voltage (3V) with a volt ohm meter before starting the process.

I just replaced the battery but still I can't open and close the car by the FOB ?! But when I insert it to the pocket i can run the engine
It may need to be reprogrammed. Make sure the battery you put in it is good and installed in the correct position. It is possible you got a bad battery.
I looked in the Owners Manual on page 2-6 and 2-7 for the C7 Corvette 2014 and it show the programing procedure for the key fob.

Extra careful as chevy is cheap and uses 1 nanometer of plastic.

You didn’t mention the little spring that falls out when you open it. When I reassemble my 2015 C7 fob, the key release button no longer moves, preventing the key from fully inserting. I have no idea what I’ve done wrong...

Cheap…fob design.. i was scared i might break it. GM should design to have a torch screw on the back for easy replacing battery
