I love these shoes! I use them as a daily (i dont run 😄) and they're extremely comfortable! They're very light and they look awesome! Excellent review by the way! 👍
Very interesting review. One question, I have got Cloudeclipse in 44 and use it with an orthopedic sole, do I need the same size for cloud surfer Next or I need a half size more (regarding the toe box)? Thanks
I wouldn't put a label on them, although I would not be using them for long runs (they're slightly too firm for me to go long). I would use them for shorter runs, and you can pick up the pace if you need to.
Hi Matt, I have a few questions about this shoe. The first relates to branding: I bought the Cloudsurfer 7 last year which I think they just started calling the Cloudsurfer (I really liked that shoe by the way), so is this the next version of the Cloudsurfer? The second is, where does the firmness fall with respect to the original Cloudmonster and the aforementioned Cloudsurfer (7) assuming you are familiar with either? As it turns out, I am an On fan and would consider this shoe if it weren't punishingly firm like the Hyperion Max (which I also like but don't need another of). Thanks!
I hope someone else chimes in, because how shoes feel underfoot is quite subjective, but the Cloudsurfer Next is firmer than the Brooks Hyperion Max to me. I found the Hyperion Max to be firm, but not too firm that I couldn't run for hours without issue. I would not choose the Cloudsurfer Next for long runs, although it's a great choice for shorter runs where you want a little road-feel! I have not run in the Cloudmonster or the Cloudsurfer 7, but I've been told the "Next" is firmer than the "7" and it is definitely firmer than the Cloudmonster 2 (which I have).
I have the Max and they are similar (for me as a heavy fit guy) in stiffness, but they differ in impact feel . The max has a solid-ish , and dense feel while the next has a hollowish feel (probably due to the hollow pods) . The next is still new so it might change when broken in. I think the max is better due to the weight , but this looks much better.
Mmm 🤔 this one looks promising for my first On running shoe purchase. My favourite shoe ever is the triumph 20. I’m on my 2nd pair and they have been my go to long run shoe for couple years now. When you say the Cloudsurfer next is on the firm side how firm compared to the Triumph 20 please Matt? Thanks Ian 🇬🇧
@@ianlowe4126 Rhe only Truimph I’ve run in is v22, but even without knowing how the 20 feels underfoot, I am confident the Cloudsurfer Next is quite a bit firmer!
Recently bought these for my daily runs and been enjoying them. It's a good daily trainer shoe to get some miles with these shoes
Glad to hear you're enjoying them! They're a solid option!

@@soustellesoustelle9204 I have the same size for both the Cloudeclipse and Cloudsurfer Next. I think you’ll be fine doing the same.
How does it fits on your feet? Is it tts? Or do need a size up?
@@riccoacerden this fits TTS!
These shoes are for long runs ( 4minutes per km ) or for speed sessions (3.20minutes per km) and faster?

My sister is the On user in the family. I just don't remember which model she wears.
At least someone in the family is contributing to the On empire!

Well but we can agree... its far far far better than than the CloudGo ... (cloudsurfer next is its official successor)
@@Chungdol I didn’t run in the cloud go, but agreed. On definietly moved in the right direction.

🫡 Nice!
Average weight? With a relatively low stack height they are definitely on the heavier side.
Do we judge "average" based off individual components? No. This is a training shoe and for a training shoe it is definitely of average weight.
