- Can the Insta360 X3 be used to vlog a trail run? For some reason having a longer session for running made me feel like talking to the camera this time. Topics are wide ranging, but the main idea was to see what it felt like to use the tools and edit the results. Thanks for stopping by, and have a beautiful day!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm actually working on a new video that covers a few more of the shooting modes after the update to the firmware, but for me, I don't think it will end up making a big difference in the way I use the camera. Hopefully I can get the video out soon though...I wish I could promise it was coming in the next few days, but it's a pretty busy season right now.

how many ft do you adjust the pole for this kind of perspective?
The perspective varies quite a bit during this long and rambling video. Plenty of the time, the stick is fully extended, but I'm still holding it with my hand close to my body. When it feels a bit tighter, the stick is probably only extended a few inches past its minimum length.
Insta 360 is the best Action camera
There are things other action cameras do much better, but the X3 certainly has some unique and wonderful upsides.

You can make a video (ista360) in which you frame exactly what you see in front of you (for 3-5 consecutive minutes) . Thank you.
I'm not sure if you're asking a question or sharing a tip, but just in case it's a question, the answer is yes. You can use the X3 to film first person views (with or without reframing depending on the mode you choose) for as long as the battery and card space last, which should be close to an hour, I think.
Nice sample footage. How did you post process? App? Desktop? Settings?
I've tried the app, but I almost always edit in the stand-alone desktop program. I've never tried the Premiere Pro plugin.
Can I run by holding with hand ✋️ without stick?
It's certainly possible to hold the camera without the stick, but there's no way you could then film yourself without having your arm featuring prominently in the frame.

I haven't watched all the way through the video posted to TH-cam to check on compression, but I'm quick to admit that the "4k" output from the Insta360 X3 is far from being able to match true 4k recording from my a7siii or something like a GoPro. The 5.7k recorded resolution of the X3 includes the full 360 degree field of view, and any reframing for flat output is a significant crop. The single lens mode would give better results, but that kind of defeats the purpose.
Great job! Insta360 still has lot of work to be done on the One X3. For that price I would have expected a much better picture. Keep it up!
@@Ultra_Man_Runner Thanks! I guess form factor must also play a significant role. It seems like more powerful processing should be able to pull better results out of the sensor. I guess that's a positive sign for future versions.
I don't think there was enough light. X3 really needs decent light to record quality 4k

I would have been nice if there was more improvement in that area compared to the One X2, but early reviews claiming a big jump in low light capability seem a little off base after my initial testing. I wonder whether the Auto exposure mode always tries to keep a 180 deg shutter when possible or if it sometimes goes faster than 1/50th sec for no good reason.
