    I have an upcoming phone screening with Amazon and one of my friends who just failed his phone interview yesterday recommended your channel and told me that he regretted that he didn't spend much time on your videos. Thank you for putting all these together and I wish I could've found your channel earlier

      @@vinayaka1234 Hi Vinayaka! I passed the 2 phone interviews and was called into the loop. In the loop I had 5 Interviews, 3 in the morning and 2 more in the afternoon with people from the team, people of related teams and a bar raiser of course.
      I thought that the interviews went pretty well actually even though i sometimes got stuck a bit in my stories.
      Then i got the call a few days after that they decided not to make me an offer. They said that i showed some skills for some leadership principles but for the ones that were really important for this role they felt i didn't have enough developped skills.
      They said i should develop my skills further and then i could apply again in a year.
      I was pretty disappointed to say the least. I felt like i had put so much time and effort into this process (studied for hours, came up with tons of stories, watched a ton of Dan's videos) and then i had nothing to show for, felt like i just lost a lot of time for nothing.
      Then came the acceptance and now i think that i wouldn't have liked the job and i think i would have struggled a lot because the job was a lot of the things i was indeed not very good at and i didn't like particularly.
      So now i am kinda glas that i didn't get the position and i'm looking for another job that fits me better. And I think it was still a good experience and i do think i learned a lot and applied for this job that i never thought i could get in the first place.
      Sorry for the wall of text. That was my full experience of the Amazon recruiting process.
      Shoutout to Dan Croitor! Your videos helped me a lot through this process!

      @@jacquesfischbach5914 In my opinion you had a lucky escape, do you really want to work for a company that wants you to study their leadership principles bullshit and make up lots of stories knowing that they know you know that they know you're making up stories ? who want to know that you went through all that just for Amazon and then they tell you to piss off because you're made up stories wasn't good enough.
      Do you want to work for a company that gets you to learn scripts like an actor ?
      Now imagine the level of horse shit you'd have to put up with if you are working there and from what I've heard it's like any big company, they eat you up and shit you out when you are burned out or mentally ill after working there a few years.
      From what I've heard Amazon burn people out or they quit long before proving their interview madness is just meaningless horse shit.

    Hey Dan, I’m interviewing for an Operations Engineer role at Amazon. I’ve been watching your videos and saw that you suggest writing two stories per LP, but also categorize questions based off LP. Do you suggest preparing those stories after writing the questions “Tell me about a time…”. I’ve noticed that sometimes this can come back to bite you, for instance, preparing your stories based off of a question that they don’t ask you for that LP.
    LP: Leadership Principle

    • @DanCroitor
      @DanCroitor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Taylor, thanks for the question. I suggest prepping stories for the behaviors exhibited in the principles, and, since many people are having a hard time to come up with such stories, I went a step further to give some sample questions for each of those principles, to make your life easier. A story, ideally, should be capturing more an event than an answer a specific question - although it can often do both, and many use their best stories to answer many questions during the interview. Let me be clear: the best stories will win you the interview, as compared to the best answers. Stories first, then the answers to specific questions.
