I'm just wondering if most people in US buy cosmetics in stores like Sephora and Douglas or its just something I see online? I’ve had to train myself out of viewing makeup reviews as gospel, because I tried out the morphe 2 stuff and it was amazing for me. Then I saw tons of reviews trashing it, and instead of trusting my own experience I went and bought a different foundation and concealer which I used for maybe 3 days before swapping back.
I already have this idea in my head now that influencers are predominantly trying to sell me things, but it’s been hard connecting that and actually applying that to my thought process.
Now I’m just sticking with what I know I like, and letting the samples decide for me

I’ve been really focused on reducing what I buy this year, and part of it was only rebuying my makeup when it runs out and getting the same stuff. Same with skincare, which I really love, but right now my skin is great and so I’m sticking to it, I can’t imagine their being a new product I’m missing out on that would in any way drastically improve my skin more than it currently is.
Also the crop tops with the built in bra that Uniqlo makes have become a godsend to me. I’m small chested and I’ve now decided I’m living in non-wired bralets and tops with built in soft cup bras. We’re here for comfort and reducing consumption baby!

I worked in a sneaker store for six years, and one of the best ways I have found to help with sneakers or boots that cause ankle blisters is to get heel cup gel inserts. They give your heel some extra squish and also lift your foot a bit so the back hits a different (and hopefully more comfy) spot.
It won't work all the time, but worth a try and you can take them in and out so you can use just one pair of heel cups in multiple shoes.

The last 10 years I have been going in deep with the high end skin care. Last month I looked at myself in the mirror and my skin was just blotchy, weird and looked bad. I stopped using all the Retinol, vitamin c, all the serums. Just went old school dove soap at my sink, and Cetaphil in my shower. Sunscreen in morning and cerave at night. Looks so much better. If it all works for someone else, beautiful. Enjoy it love it, blessings to all. But you don't need it.

I completely agree with you about skin care! I go see a dermatologist twice a year and my biggest takeaway is to keep your skincare routine as simple as possible. CeraVe is a great brand and if you wash your face, moisturize and use sunscreen, that seems to work best for sensitive skin. That being said I also have some great creams from my dermatologist; you might ask about prescription Azelaic Acid and Retinol which can help with skin texture - I use them mostly for acne but worth talking to your dermatologist about!

I use the vitamix for my smoothies every day and have no issue. I would recommend adding more liquid. My go to smoothie is a cup of frozen cherries, scoop of protein powder and a cup of almond milk. I set it to 1, let it go for a sec, and then bump it up to 4 for about 30 seconds. I have never had a creamier smoothie.

My vitamix is amazing. Add chopped kale and cut apple to my smoothies and no other blender can blend the stems fine enough for a smoothie. I also use it to turn oatmeal into oat flour and ground flaxseeds. I also use it to make soups, especially if a have leftover vegetables and I’m not sure what to do with them.

From one sensitive girly to another, drugstore skincare is oftentimes better than any of that expensive stuff, especially if you're sensitive to things like perfume etc. Also the thing with trying actives (acids, vitamin c, retinol, etc.) is that you need to be really careful and slow with introducing them or it can leave you with irritated skin at best. To use up the stuff you have, you could try layering your serums etc with actives in a sandwich (for e.g. face creme-active-face creme). It reduces the percentage so the stuff isn't as effective, but it also isn't as irritating bc you're providing your skin with an extra barrier and it gives your skin a chance to adapt at a slow, even pace. On top of that you could also spread out the use (do it only 2x week with the rest of the day being back to your simple moisturising routine) and only use one active at a time. Idk it's just sth to consider to help you use up the stuff you have 😊 I had similar issues with actives when I first started using them and got really put off, so I thought I would offer some advice in case you need it. Basically don't get discouraged. Give your skin a little break and if you decide to give actives another go just be super careful and go slow 😊
On a side note, I'm actually a bit shocked your facial person was recommending you actives while you were going for regular professional treatments! When I used to get treatments, my facial lady warned me that my skin will be super sensitive and I should stick to good moisturizer and SPF only. The stuff they use at beauty clinics etc. is usually higher percentage/more concentrated, and that lends itself to more irritation and sensitivity. Even sth like a vitamin c serum added to the mix can lead to a flare-up (I don't have rosacea, but I have eczema so I kinda know how tricky skin can be with this stuff).
Anyhow I love these videos a lot! ❤ For trainer recommendations, I would suggest Vans and Converse. They usually come out in various fun colours around summer and they're 1) true to size and 2) super comfortable. I struggle a lot with shoes giving me blisters etc and these two brands have never failed me unlike some other big names (I'm looking at you, Puma!) 😄

I love the color wow dream coat! My hot tip is to get the one made for curly hair. The original dream coat is “activated” under heat so if you are using a blow dryer that isn’t hot or if you are air drying it won’t work. If you look at the directions on the curly hair version, it allows for air drying instead! So it is self-activating or something idk but i love it.

Hi! So, fun fact I learned from an ER doctor. The back of your leg, down near your heel, is actually very thin skin. And, when you open it up, through aggressive rubbing or blisters, it can actually make you MORE susceptible to future tears and irritation on those points. I say this, because the said ER doctor literally had to put a stitch in my heel area after a pair of shoes rubbed it so bad, the skin broke open and would not close! I can pretty much only wear high tops now 😢

I've had my vitamix blender for 15 years and it still works perfectly, unless they've cut quality yours should last just as long. I'd recommend getting a 64oz container. The 64oz containers are much better, you want the container to be much larger than what you're blending, the bigger blades create the vortex easier. I use mine for a lot of things, but most often smoothies, and i start with my liquid/soft ingredients and add in frozen fruit gradually. Mine is actually supposed to work on a stronger power supply (different country) but still blends well on half power.

I have that exact bra from victoria’s secret and was gonna mention it, but I’m glad you found it! I agree it’s the most comfortable bra I’ve ever worn! I’ve been meaning to replace my nude bra that has underwire, so thanks for the link!!
I have a similar blender and I love it! I used to work in a smoothie shop which I’m thankful for because there is a specific way you have to do things. Like adding your liquid/juice/water first then adding in your frozen fruit. Often the pulse button works better than just running it. I also never use the stick thing and I prefer making smoothie bowls with just frozen fruit and juice, but no ice. I just pick up the container and shake it and pulse it until everything gets blended then will turn it on at the end to make sure there’s no lumps. Also if it needs more flavor add just a splash of whatever liquid you’re using as most of the flavor of a smoothie comes from whatever liquid you’re using. I get that a big blender isn’t for everyone, but I hope this helps!

With the colour wow shine spray it just topically makes your hair better but doesn’t really treat any hair issues. But to get a really nice blow out with it use a barrel brush and make sure you are using pressure, the product only works if you spray in damp hair and blow dry it to seal it. Section by section with the barrel brush should give you some good results! I always get compliments on my hair when I use it! 😊

I’ve had a vitamix for 12 years. Hands down the best blender we’ve owned. It works just as well today as it did when it was brand new. We do have the full size though. You might need more liquid OR as it’s blending, drop in your frozen fruit if you like it thicker.

I AMN RIGHT THERE WITH YOU on the Color WOW Dreamcoat. It just DOESN'T work for me. People RAVE about it and it makes me feel like I am doing something wrong? People say "You really need to saturate the hair with the product".... but then I do that and my hair feels icky.... idk but it's gonna be a pass for me. For Dr martens, try hammering the backs. I usually get my SO to do it as he's better at it. But put the shoe over like a rolling pin and hammer the back until it softens. Or just hammer it from the inside, like proper go for it. It won't break them. Just a normal flat hammer. And do it until you put them on and they feel soft. To make it easier on yourself you can also put leather softening spray on before the hammering.

I agree with so many of your points here!
I use ELF for most of my makeup and skincare, the brand is affordable as well as fully vegan and cruelty free, and all of their products work great for me. And they make lots of dupes, so chances are they have something close to what you’re looking for.
Simple routines usually work best for skin and hair care, especially if you have sensitive skin or damaged hair. Also they’re much easier to actually keep up with, especially for someone with ADHD like myself 😅 using the same products consistently can make a huge difference, rather than trying something new all the time.
And I 1000% agree that comfort is more important than fashion. Life is too short to spend your time uncomfortable! Plus there are tons of ways to look great while still being comfortable.
Also the little Brad Mondos on screen for your no hair stylists disclaimer 😂 amazing! Love your videos ❤

I love underwire bras. If I choose to wear one, unlined with wires are my go-to. Fit and quality is important though. The only ones I’ve ever had dig were the cheap/ more affordable ones. My mom is a large chested lady and always told me to just go for the nice bra because one expensive one may be better than every cheap one, and she’s so right.

I’ve only used my Vitamix for smoothies for the last 10 years. You shouldn’t have to use the tamper. The tamper is for thicker things like banana ice cream. You’re not putting enough water in. I have the taller version, but I will use hot water if I’m only using frozen fruit. I usually have 1-1.5 cups for almond/soy milk then I put my other ingredients then water to about 1/2-3/4 of the way to the top of my ingredients. Turn it on then ramp up to the highest setting quickly. Also turn the speed down slowly when you’re turning it off. I leave the blade spinning for 2-3 seconds on the lowest setting then turn it off. With practice you will know how much liquid to use compared to your ingredients to achieve your desired thickness. Also if you’re adding ice, you don’t need as much water.

Love this video, thank you - it’s great to hear some ‘real talk’ about popular things that just didn’t work for you. On the topic of skin care, I’m of the same opinion as you and keep it simple, and I do get compliments about my skin. I also don’t see the point of taking skincare advice from people who are mainly younger than I and that have (usually) different skin types. Things come around and in years to come, I actually think we’ll all be saying “do you remember when we all used to put 12 different things on our skin, thinking it would be beneficial?!” etc… 😂
Would also like to add that I bought that Maybelline foundation, based on how you said it works for you and I bloody LOVE it. So, thank you!! 🙏🏻

Ok. A few things that have been amazing to me is the Bliss vitamin c and the resting beach face sun screen. With those together I have been told by several people including dermatology that my face was glowing and what have I been using. My hair … what I love is unite products. The shine spray .. no lie is amazing ( so is armondo from TH-cam shine spray ). They have heat protectant and both of those products make my hair super shiny after flat iron. You have to use them with heat for them to work. I also love the morocan oil on hair after I flat iron for extra smoothness. I wash hair once a week so my shampoo and hair products last forever. I don’t really wear makeup. Most of time it’s vitamin c, moisturizer and sunscreen. If I wear any makeup it’s rare beauty

Girl I feeeeel this entire video so much. My hair has changed a lot over the last couple years. It went from STRAIGHT wouldn't even hold a perm, to wavy. I tried all sorts of expensive shampoos/conditioners even the ones you get personalized for your specific hair, all sort of masks and creams...seems like it all made it worse. I am currently really enjoying the Kitsch shampoo bars the rice water ones.
Also feel you on the skin care and makeup. I've tried the Chanel to the basic maybelline and its literally the same. I can ALSO relate to the clothing and shoes. If something is uncomfortable or annoys me its a no for me. I can not function if my clothes or shoes are annoying me. ALSO ALSO...I agree with the blender. Not worth it. We had a really nice one but it eventually broke after many many years of use. we bought a vitamix...its "okay" not great. We also have a little Nutri bullet which I DO like for smoothies.

Someone may have already said this, but you really have to spray the wow dream coat on section by section and really saturate the whole section. You can’t use too much. I have fairly thin, wavy, VERY frizzy hair, and I use this when it’s humid but I don’t yet have my summer amino acid smoothing treatment done. It truly does get rid of all frizz for me and doesn’t make it weighed down or greasy. If you haven’t already, try applying it like that.

On the bra thing I 100% agree, underwires are the bain of my existence. I personally wear bras that give me lots of support (I am a large-chested girly) but they do not have an underwire. Instead they have a faux wire. It is thicker fabric that mimics the structure a wire would give but it is so comfortable because there is no actual wire. The brand I buy is Vanity Fair, I buy them at Kohl's of all places. So if you're looking for something that gives you extra structure but does not have an underwire, I recommend these bras. :)

regarding the skin: I can VERY much relate. I started realizing that as long as I wash my face before bed, my skin is the happiest. I also will go through periods where I use face oil before bed and use my LYMA laser (which I was influenced to pay $2000 for a few years ago lol), and I think more than anything its the facial oil than the laser, but my skin does look particularly amazing when I do that. otherwise - ive pretty much stopped using face masks all together because it does literally nothing for me.

Always love your videos! I gave up underwires about a decade ago. As a big boob girlie (size Gs) it is a struggle to find cute big boob bras. If you don't care about color options or "cuteness" and just want comfortable support I personally like Bali bras. Also the good old Platex 24 hour. Im sure many will think it's a grandma bra when you don't want underwires and have big old girls I have found a bra from trendy places that does the job (for me anyhow).
I totally agree on the skincare thing as well. I tried so many things and my acne and uneven skin were sooo bad. I ended up out of desperation trying Curology. It actually worked for me as one of their main things was not using a lot of product. A simple cleanser, moisturizer, and their "prescribed" serum. It is expensive to keep investing in so I eventually stopped and found dupes that work for my skin for the three steps. Simple cleanser (Cetaphil), moisturizer (Simple brand), and my serum I'm still testing out but right now my skin seems like swamping my nighttime moisturizer for Olay Retinol 24.

Getting ready for bed with Vanicream on. I use a few things, but their moisturizer and cleanser are lovely (avoid the mineral SPF, though). They have all the potions the fancy routines have you add separately. They should sell a fancy label you can slap over the boring tube!
At drugstores, too, you can play the coupons/reward game so well.
I've wanted to try Color Wow, but it seems like what I get from a drop or two of Goldwell Just Smooth serum--tame the humidity puffy/frizz. (It's high end but I get it from a mall discounter, and the bottle lasts a year, I use so little).
I'm looking forward to a beauty video with your drugstore finds.

I love the color wow heat protectant! I originally bought the trial size and when I was finished I didn’t think it was worth rebuying. When I was doing my hair with another heat protectant, I started noticing my hair was frizzier and not as shiny (I have wavy/curly hair). I think sectioning into smaller layers and spraying every layer works better, and also using a bit more than you think you need. Also, brush through it after you spray and before you blow dry!
