    You can never go wrong with Nikon

    Yep, the Z6 is a fantastic camera! Compact, lightweight, good ergonomics, solid AF, great image, great color, as good in low light as any full frame BSI sensor can be and super affordable on the used market. If someone would ask me today which camera to get for a new photographer ... this would be it. And while the 40mm and 28mm do feel a bit plasticky, optically they punch way beyond what anyone would expect for what they cost. Great choice!

      To me it's in that category of camera that really give you a lot for the money, alongside the Fuji X-H1/T2, Olympus EM-1ii, Sony A7III (when you can find it under 1000€) and older full frame DSLRs like D750 or 5D3

    Loved my old d700, colors straight out were so good. Z6 is nice but I’m saving for a z8, ergonomics of the z6 not quite there.

      I added a smallrig plate under the camera to increase the height, it basically feels the same as far as size goes (not weight) to my D700.
      No complaints from me there.

    I'm excited to hear that you found the Z6 :) I think gives people the very best price to performance when they're getting into a mirrorless system. Even if the autofocus is 'unreliable' when compared to sony or canon, I've found that it's still really, really good. The ergonomics are also incredible, which makes a huge difference. I'm really feeling your pain on the lack of log. I'm happy that Nikon is catching up on their video assist in newer models.

      @uncertainrelease  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not planning on upgrading the Z6 for a long time, even if the Z6III will have internal Log like the Z8 and Zf, I might still just get an external recorder for the Z6, it would probably be cheaper.
      But I'd need a DaVinci Resolve Studio to be able to exploit any Log footage from Nikon at all since both external and internal Log are only 10bit...
      bottom line 8bit Log in my X-T2 is doing it for now !

    Don't forget you can get a Viktrox 20 2.8 for your Z6 for like $150USD.

      yes I know, but I'm rarely enjoying focal lengths wider than 28mm anyway (I even find 24mm to be too wide), and for the very few occasions that I would need to go wider, I have my Tokina 12-24 which covers a full frame sensor at around 18mm, and is very sharp at 20.
      So I don't really feel the need to get that lens righ now. I keep it in mind though.

      apaprently the Megadap ETZ21 is pretty good, I don't have any experience with it as I don't have any E mount stuff though

    Nikon is great. Did you ever hold and use a Canon?

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I own a 5D classic and I had a Canon M50 in the past.
      I'm not the biggest fan of their ergonomics and menus. I didn't like the M50, I quickly sold it, used it less than a year (I think you can still hear me talk about it in my early videos lol).
      The 5D is great, but it's not matching my D700 for grip shape and button placement

    I'm currently debating to get the Z5. I currently have the fuji xt2 with the 35mm f2. Great kit but being that small is not always good i think, my other hiking camera is a sony rx10iv and the ergonomics on that are miles better. Before i invest more in fuji i'm aving doubts if i shouldn't switch to Nikon.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends. I used an X-T2 for 2+ years (and I still have it, no plans on selling it) and the camera itself is very good, very nice image quality etc but it's definitely aging a bit.
      The Z5 has a better viewfinder, much better grip (I can tell after using a Z6), betetr autofocus and better low light performance. It's a very good camera if you don't plan on doing 4K video or shoot fast (it's liomited to 4.5fps)
      My reasoning for switching to Nikon was really for the lenses. Fuji lenses are too expensive for me and I can't have two lens lineups at the same time. In your shoes, I would probably start looking at maybe adding a little hand extension grip on the X-T2 (I've used one pretty much ever since I got the camera) and see if that doesn't fix the issue. If not, maybe consider the Nikon camera. The Z5 is a good body.

      @@uncertainrelease getting a grip deliverd tonight, will see how it goes. Saw a barely used d300s andit's tempting to buy it, seems like great ergolomics but afraid i'm gonna be dissapponted in the IQ. Guess you contaminated me with your GAS😂 Looks like a great second body for messing around besides my xt2.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tomvtroye The D300(S) is a really nice camera, I have one and honestly I've been quite pleased with it. I didn't expect image quality to be as good as it is, considering the price I paid for it (60€).
      The D300 is still a decent buy today, but I would spend more than 100€ for a D300 (140 for a D300S). Over that, those cameras start being not really worth it. If you don't have any DSLR cameras, it's a good place to start as it's one of the best DSLRs ever made in my opinion (when it comes to shooting experience, build quality and value for money)

    I have a bunch of old lenses of different brands, also 5 Nikon lenses with simple adapters both on my Olympus and Nikon Z cameras and they do well.Yes c9mpletely manual but that may be an advantage.
    I am surprised that you are not sat8sf8ed with old Nikon lenses on Fuji cameras. One of the most famous vintage lenses channels on youtube - zenography - rated the Fuji XT-1 at the top followed by the XT-2.
    And the Nikon Z5 is a vary good camera, yes for sports and wildlife the burst rate is very much too small and the possibilities for porfessional videographers may not be not sufficient but the camera delivers very good image quality and has been very good rated by dpreview.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have a Z6, not a Z5.
      The problem with Fujifilm cameras when adapting lenses is not tied to vintage lenses, but modern digital lenses.
      The fringer NF-FX adapter doesn't work well enough to allow for accurate AF-C, whereas the FTZ on Nikon works like native. That was my biggest limitation.
      And when it comes to manual focusing with vintage lenses, the nice thing about the Z6 is that it has a full frame sensor, so you're getting the angle of view that the lens was designed for, which no Fujifilm camera can do.

    fujinon 50-230 mm is cheap and good with very good image stabiliser and its sharp at about f10 at 50mm and all the way to 230 its at its sharpest at f14. I use mostly the fuji X-T100. Its very good.

    It seems you never understand or know how to use Fujifilm camera, for you to leave Fujifilm camera for Nikon. Don't misunderstand me, Nikon is Good but Fujifilm camera are better, from Beginning to the present. They are better in video and never left behind in photos.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Uuuuhh no. Not at all.
      1 : the reason I "leave" Fuji for Nikon is not the performance
      2 : I've used Fuji cameras for nearly 4 years, using them for landscapes, portraits, travel, events, sports, wildlife,... Always with good results. Pretty bold of you to come and say that I "never understood how to use a Fuji".
      3 : I Still own 3 Fujifilm cameras, I only sold an X-H1 for a Nikon Z6
      4 : the Z6 has better autofocus, better burst rate, better dynamic range and lower noise than any of the Fuji cameras I've used so far
      5 : video performance is equivalent between my Fujis and my Nikon. My Z6 can output 10bit 4.2.2 4K30 Log video, my X-T2 can't.
      It seems to me that you didn't watch the video, but only read the title... Otherwise you wouldn't say that.
      It also seems that you have a massive bias, fueld by a lot of "Nikon bad" rethoric.
      (also, what the hell does "from begenning to the present" means??? Does it mean Fuji was always better ever since the introduction of the X mount? Hate to break it to you, but Fujifilm cameras weren't even touching Nikon in 2012 / 2013, and they wouldn't until 2016)

      It is well ❤️‍🩹. I started with Nikon cameras, but the day I used Fujifilm xt1, I never look back. I then bought Fujifilm X-T3, X-T4 and then Sony a7iv A7rii and R3. I always want to shoot my Fujifilm camera, for the fact that I shoot raw and enable me to convert it from raw to any of simulation of my choice, it's tumps up. Then the colours fidelity and image quality and the capacity to record 10bit at 60p in video really won me over.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@akanbilincoln3891 I am not interested in 10bit video as this would require me to buy a 300€ DaVinci Resolve Studio license.
      I am not generally using slow motion, or if I do it's with higher framerates, so I'm in 1080p anyway (and my current cameras do HD 120p well enough. Fujis or Nikons)
