    I really hope to see you more often on TH-cam. A lot of these guys who talk about cameras do all these cuts and stuff in their videos and it's so distracting. Yours is straightforward. Demeanor and temperament so easy to watch 🤙

    The Z6 really improved after firmware 3.0, I don't think it is even close to my D500, but it is better than I'd heard. The video is more than good enough for me. The Ibis is great, especially compared to Sony. I love Nikon's colors, unlike modern Canon colors. I also am using an old Zeiss Batis lens with a Megadap Sony E to Nikon Z, which works quite well

    I really have appreciated your videos as I have been shopping for my first full frame camera (2024). I appreciate your straightforward reviews and based on your own usage and needs.

    Thanks for the concise review. Would recommend when able to upgrade to SSD storage as it’s much faster transfer but more importantly, safer and more withstanding to shocks than a hard drive.

    ThankYou for a very thoughtful and in depth look (user review) of the Z6 and the other cameras You considered !!! I dragged My feet going into mirrorless (but glad that I did)(both take My time and getting into mirrorless) My choice was the Z5 for various reasons, it is also a great camera for many of the reasons You decided on the Z6...... (I do not do any video)...... I wish You luck in whatever You do, keep shooting n stay happy n healthy !! Long Live Nikon :) :) :)

    Great video! I just went back to Nikon after 6 years with Sony. The Nikon Z cameras have superior color and the RAW images are like nice thick negatives. Sony cameras render weird orange/pink skin tones that aren't pretty, and are hard to edit. I picked up a used Z6 in great condition for $600 bucks. This is wild because an A7III still goes for about $1100 US dollars used. I'm old and it's hard to believe that Sony cameras sell for much more money than Nikon, which for many years Nikon use to be the best and most respected camera brand. People are slowly realizing the amazing value that one gets from Nikon cameras even new. If you are a video shooter, a Sony A7SIII costs $3500 US dollars and shoots compressed 10 bit video and is only 12MP, so not suitable for photos. A new Nikon Z6III is 24MP, so it's a great stills camera, and it can record internally up 6K/60p in RAW video and can even record internal ProRes 4K 60p and HD 240 fps. It's $2500 bucks, so $1000 dollars less than A7SIII. Crazy. Now that Nikon bought RED they are showing that they are serious about competing. With the Z6III and all the new affordable lenses, they have showed that their ecosystem in growing and can now compete with Sony.

    Agreed, have been shooting with the Z6 for 6 years and still shooting with it. A great camera TH-camr ignorantly crushed. I would say that it actually measures up against today's new cameras under 2K.

      Slap a recorder on it and it is cheaper than a Lumix S5II, with equivalent performance. I wouldn't say that teh Z6 is just the same thing as a newer Zf or A7IV, there is still a measurable difference between those. The question is mostly if that performance difference matters to you, and to me it clearly doesn't.

    im still rocking a z6 as well. its a great lil camera. Nothing wrong with older cameras. If anything, I recently printed a bunch of photos and finding that I am really enjoying photos from my older nikon cameras a lot ( nikon d300/ d3. ) I started to use them more again.

      The creator of this channel has great video about the D300 which I like a lot. I have been shooting a D300s since 2012.

    I loved that camera but needed better AF for portraits but for almost everything else, it is amazing, great dynamic range, screen image quality, colors, etc, I would recommend it for non-professional work because it is not super duper reliable.

    I was about to get the Z6 but then the Xqd card price was the main problem so I switched to Z6II instead. Thank for the review, I too am a Fujifilm X camera shooter and still love their cameras!

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The price difference between the Z6 and Z6ii was too large, and I prefered to pay about 100€ for a CFXB card instead of about 500€ price premium for a Z6ii.

      Yes and yes.
      I use the Z6 for both.

    I'm thinking of buying a used Z6 so I can switch from Canon DSLR system. Since you are not using an external monitor here are you just trusting the camera autofocus to handle your movements? I'm majority into photography but would like to use the Nikon to start a TH-cam channel using my old EF lenses but I'm a little nervous about the AF continuous in video.
    Great video!

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no experience adapting EF lenses to a Nikon Z camera, but otherwise yeah, the Z6 tracks my face in video no problem.
      I have a mirror that goes into the hotshoe that allows me to see myself when using the camera though, so I can see what the focus is doing, been pretty flawless so far.
      I'm definitely not using F mount lenses for video, it's been either the Z 28mm f/2.8 or the Z 40mm f/2 so far

      @@uncertainrelease Appreciate your response. Do you have a link to the hotshoe mirror or something similar?

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@papafrita96 unfortunately no. It's a mirro made by Ulanzi (I think?) that I bought on amazon. It's originally made for the Sony A6x00 cameras like the A6400, but it works with every camera that has a tilt screen and a hotshoe situated above the screen. Been using it for a while, from my X-T1/2, X-H1 and now the Z6. Works well, costs maybe 15 bucks

    We’ll said. I got one a few weeks ago replacing an RP. I have a 40mm f2 and a 24-70 f4 z S-line. The price/value of those two lenses adds to the value of the whole system. There are no deals for a good standard zoom from Canon.

    This is just the mirrorless version of the D600 with better video. I can't find a good reason to upgrade since I don't do video.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Even if you did, slap a recorder on it and you get 10bit 4.2.2 with N-Log and RED LUTs.
      Except if you shoot a lot of slow-mo, I can't see how you would need more than this.

    The late 2010s were really great for photo tech, all the cameras released then are still running strong. I was thinking about Z6, but the lenses are big (in comparison to what one can find in fuji), so I ditched the idea - as I mostly use cameras during hikes.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm happy using only my 28mm and 40mm when I'm hiking (with my 100-400 in the bag, but Fuji's 100-400 is just as big and heavy as mine).
      Imho a Nikkor 24-70mm f/4S would be a pretty nice hiking lens, and it's pretty compact, I don't think I'd see much of a difference with a Fuji kit when it comes to weight.

    gonna buy with 500k shutter count. any bad?

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      that's... pretty high. be sure NOT to pay for price for it, and be aware there could be a shutter failure down the line.
      I'd recommend to shoot electronic shutter or EFCS as often as possible

    I need rock solid autofocus, either Z8 or upcoming Z6III.

    • @uncertainrelease
      @uncertainrelease  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      not really the same price range lol. A brand new Z8 is 5 times the price of a used Z6. Besides, they're not really comparable cameras at all, pretty much everything is differnet besides the lens mount.
      And on top of that the Z6 is also rock solid with enough practice. Had no issues shooting football with it.

      I also prefer sticky auto focus for my kids movements. That is the only con I have with z6 (in comparison) , but I am managing now. Will shoot for 4 or 5 more years. 😊
