- Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) is a central business district under construction in the Gandhinagar district in Gujarat, India. It is India's first operational greenfield smart city and international financial services centre, which the Government of Gujarat promoted as a greenfield project. In 2020 GIFT IFSC bagged 10th place in Finance Industry and top rank in emerging financial centres in the Global Financial Centres Index.[1][2] As of June 2023, it is home to 23 multi-national banks, including HSBC, JP Morgan, and Barclays. Furthermore, it includes 35 fintech entities, two international stock exchanges with average daily trading volumes of $30.6 billion, as well as India's first international bullion exchange with 75 onboarded jewellers.[3][4]
The city is located on the banks of the Sabarmati River and is around 12 km (7.5 mi) from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.[5][6][7][8] The city is designed so residents can walk to work, and includes commercial, financial and residential complexes.The city is connected through 4-6 lane state and national highways. A metro station is also planned[clarification needed] for construction, which would connect GIFT City to the Ahmedabad Metro network. This is expected to be completed by March 2024.[9][10] The total area for the development of GIFT is 359 hectares (886 acres) out of which the special economic zone (SEZ) constitutes 106 hectares (261 acres). The project area under development can hence be classified under the SEZ area and the non-SEZ area (also known as the Domestic Tariff area or the DTA).[11]
With the opening of the first campuses of two Australian universities on 7 November 2023 in the presence of Indian counterpart Dharmendra Pradhan and Australian Education Minister Jason Clare, GIFT City is beginning to establish itself as the center of foreign universities in the nation.[12]

I agree. Left and right turn and U TURN needs to be improved in indian traffic lanes. Designer of traffic flows are outdated people

@@riddhighosal To make turning lanes the provision has to be made in the planning phase itself. From this video I can see the completed roads without any dedicated turning lanes.
@@akp3097 Well left turning is fine, no need of dedicated lanes for that. In all modern countries such as US there are dedicated turning lanes when you are turning into the oncoming traffic (in our case it is the right turn).
This prevents clogging up the lanes where traffic needs to go straight (not turning)
India needs to build upwards, need to ease the construction laws

Good that Metro-rail is constructed beforehand. Else it's construction would have created traffic & congestion for 4-5 yrs like we see in other Metro-cities.
You should make a special video showing the year wise progress of Gift city from when the construction started till now (2024). It will be easier to visualize the progress of the city.

I really hope they make big roads having a minimum of 8-10+ lane roads in GIFT city. Since it is a newly planned city with no significant infra yet, this should be easy to incorporate.
The massive roads will be seen in Dholera. GIFT will be 6-8 lanes in places, but they are divided and separated, going to particular areas.

I am from Gujarat and I feel very disappointed when I hear people saying that Modi is only developing Gujarat...
My dear fellow Indians it's not like that.... this gift City, dholera City are the projects that were announced and also started when Modi was chief Minister of Gujarat and there was Congress government in center...
If you can see then you will realise that Modi developed infrastructure in almost every corner of India... You can see expressways, Railways, airports, electrification to villeges, water to every tap, border infrastructure, HAL Helicopter manufacturing in Karnataka etc....
And just because the last three big kind of projects came to Gujarat instead of Maharashtra or Karnataka it doesn't mean that Modi's deliberately shifting projects from one state to the other it's just the healthy competition between the states... In fact this time only the projects came to Gujarat apart from that in these 9 years there are many other big projects also that came in States other than Gujarat...
Mumbai tans Harbor link, RRTS, Water metro in kochi etc are kinda stete specific infra projects... I can't remember of any other at this point in time... But you guys can do research...
And sometimes in the extreme states like a West Bengal, Bihar etc some Central government schemes not even implemented by opposition state government party...

It will be completed before 2042
It's not slow. It's a specific Investment driven project I.e financial services. Such domain requires policy reforms from union govt. Policies & reforms can't be changed in one go, it will happen step by step.
Apart from that Gujrat's blanket ban on liquor is a negative point for attracting certain kind of investments which is removed specifically for GIFT city.
Many construction activities are in preliminary stages which aren't visible or shown in this video.
Construction of 30+ buildings are under construction which are malls, hospital, residential buildings.
By year end, work on riverfront will commence.
Once metro projects gets completed & some recreational projects gets operational, you will get to see what you are expecting.
Just wait for 4-5 years you will get to see half of the city plan completed on ground.
They had to increase the size of the city because they already ran out of it. This city is growing super fast!
The Gujarat government needs to focus on the development of the largest scale education institutes in the gift city.

There should be four lanes in each side, apart from that there should be sufficient parking and at least 10 meters wide for pedestrians. The vision is very narrow.
