GIFT City is a planned business district in the state of Gujarat in India. It is the new business destination offering competitive edge to financial services and technology-related activities.The land between the commercial capital of Ahmedabad and the administrative capital of Gandhinagar was identified for the development of a Central Business District (CBD). The GIFT city is built on 886 acres and has a multi-service Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Business Today TV's Associate Editor, Chetan Bhutani visited the GIFT City and here's his report.

We need these kind of special economic zones across India for all states irrespective of state governments.
If sate govt is opposition , then it eill certainly try to stop these projects like Maharashtra during uddhav thakrey
The guy in video mentioned all countries have one such city, so center govt will not make other city like this, at list till BJP is in power.
State govt won't have that power to influence NSE, BSE, Banks,...to start such finance center in their state.
So support of center is important. Modi also was able to do this cuz he became PM.
Otherwise IFSC was planned in Mumbai by Congress govt.
Modi used his power to stop investment by foreigners in Mumbai and forced them to do it in Gift city.
That's why foreign investor had to start business in incomplete city which is underconstruction.

@@mein3324 but when you see the logistics and transportation Gujarat would be the perfect than mumbai. Mumbai ports are so busy that they cannot handle all these goods in the future. I think Gujarat and specially gift city is the perfectly option for investment. Already FDI is increasing in india.

I don't think infrastructure is too futuristic I mean we are developing a city in 2023 means the infrastructure should have been futuristic so that in upcoming years that remain as world class. But it is totally opposite when china developed cities like Beijing 30 years before the are still as futuristic compare to gift 😅

A city like GIFT should have been in or near Mumbai , it should have been closer to sea and ports
We can't have everything in one place. There should be multiple location and financial center.
Gujarat and Maha is close to pakistan. They are easy target for pak.

Gift city is a game changer with lots of policies and implementation that can be a role model for designing other srates. Please lets not get rat holed into luquor availability. Since westerners would also work and move here, it is but natural we need to enable their stay as easy as possible

Yes i also observed that,no proper dedicated pedestrian walkpaths and dedicated bicycle lane separated from main road and also there are no islands between road crossing the road will be tough for pedestrians,i hope they also plant tress at the pedestrian paths and bicycle paths so it could help people who use it,looking at it now it is highly car centric road design which will cause traffic problem in future,i hope the planners will look after it and modify the design and create a proper dedicated pedestrian paths and bicycle paths so ot could be helpfull in future for people

As long as Modi is PM Gujarat get full support. Many prestigious projects have started in Gujarat after Modi became PM. Of course even before Modi became PM Gujarat was a much better performing city compare to many states however after Modi became PM. It got Many exceptional projects. I hope centre supports many projects across India apart from UP and Gujrat.

Real estate prices will be hyped very high and obviously property will give good returns for investors , especially big realtors, industrialists and politicians.
Due to this real estate hype, cost of living will definitely rise affecting the common people staying there for whom survival will be difficult.
Already, due to Hybrid work model and online shopping, several commercial spaces throughout the country are going empty .
This will be a future ghost city, nothing more than that. Recession is almost about to happen this year according to some analysts.

We need more free space and greenary than this type of concrete jungles. People staying in metros like Bangalore, Mumbai, pune, Hyderabad, Delhi are fed up with this.
Skyscapers are now old, we need something more modern which should be a mix of greenery, parks, gardens and buildings which are not more than G+2 .
This way the city will spread across lot of area, look beautiful creating several opportunities for everyone.

There is a lot of investment and IT companies setting up there I heard recently. Plus Tamil Nadu is one of the big manufacturing hubs in India, probably the best place for manufacturing -- already started Apple Iphones, Tata industries and Indian railways. I think GIFT city is more of a pilot project when making a SEZ, after that it may be implemented to other places.
Dude Tamil Nadu is one of the best states in India already when it comes to industrialisation -- it's time for other states to catch up with them ig, but yeah at the same time it's not like TN is shrinking, it's growing too

Particularly, political credit becomes an issue, aha! -- who is going to take credit if it is successful (or who is gonna be the scapegoat if it fails) -- the opposition regional party or the central government. Honestly, it would be better if they just work together but it doesn't always happen like that.
My hope is that GIFT city becomes a successful SEZ and such cities are promoted all across the country, and they also go on the same trajectory.
