As someone who mixs a lot of JB skate music with songs from the 70s, this was a winner for me. No other software on the market handles tracks that were recorded live with the tempo constantly fluctuating here and there. Of course I could spend hours adjusting the grid of any song but to be able to throw it in my deck and transition has been a game changer.
Thanks for this. I'm so glad I use DJay as my backup for now, this makes me want to go home and play with a ton of those old Disco and 60's Rock tracks.
yeah i'm gladly using DJay as my backup. All these features are always calling on me to make it my primary work flow but I don't know what will make me finally make the big switch.
@@vtabamo Same here. It’s my backup and I want to make the switch but I haven’t has time to figure out or look up how to import my Serato crates and VDJ playlists.
I pitched this idea to SERATO long before DJay pro came out with theirs. Their answer to me was that i could do that manually. Which is true but isnt the whole point of using a software to make your life easier?
Thank you so much for this video. I play mostly old school music and in other videos they always mention old school and funk but will still only play an electronic record
It's so next level. Switched to it with one of the recent updates. It's not always perfect but helps reduce stress levels when mixing old tunes for sure.
I used DJAY from 2008-2023. After a year of not using it, I'm back, and OMG...sheeze it's amazing and I'm back home. If they every really nails stems...wow...how did I go this long. And the crossfader effects...
would love to see u do a mix of a few symphonic metal songs, since well i know they are fairly hard to make good in a mix, but would love to se a pro do it
Yo CT! That’s wild how the wave forms auto adjust to the grid. I have some transition edits that beat match perfectly together for the first and last 16 bars with non transitional tracks but then the grid eventually brings the tempo up or down and eventually lines it up with the correct tempo after it reaches later in the song, thing is you have to turn sync off in order for the track to play its correct bpm *using Serato…but this is definitely next level not having to even worry or forgetting to turn sync off if you’re using it on those specific edits This just adjusts to Bpm right off the bat! That’s amazing!
Good tip for those who are on the fence with DJay Pro. I use my Rane One to DJay Pro for my old school rap, disco and break beats because of it keeping the beats on tune. Denon LC6000s with Serato, for my electronic music.
1:15 even on electronic music can be a hassel variable beat grids cause a lot of producers automate the pitch the tempo and there is songs that are multigenre with different bpms.
bro been with djay from the very begin its the hottest software on the market right now they have set the bar and now the have just got rane pro-former assigned which I get next month super exited its the game changer everybody's been waiting for!!!!!!
Nice. In Rekordbox I adjust my beatgrids myself and I can use sync on livedrummed and transition tracks perfectly like in your demo here... But it takes a few minutes per track to get it right. It's actually why I don't use Serato. Their sync system doesn't allow you to set the master, so a tempo changing tracks stays locked on the "sync tempo"...
Wow that’s pretty awesome. And I have tracks that don’t have a beat grid that shows on Serato. I’m wondering if DJAY can analyze it and set grids. And for the software to show you exactly where the BPM is with BPM transitions. Is awesome, thanks CT
I was testing it out as well and I will admit it was quite impressive how it has been locking the loops for older music, but it only worked well when it got the bpms correct..... and this is where djay falls short for me from ever since. While I'm aware not every dj software will detect the software correct for every track, djay was definitely among the most unreliable for bpm detection. I was hoping with this new fluid beat grid technology that was a thing of the past but the issue of how many tracks are off in comparison to other platforms is a deal breaker for me.
I played on friends mixer using his library and DJay. All of his tracks were old funky house with bad beat grids. He was used to just hitting sync. I grabbed the pitch fader and started nudging the platters. I hope he gets this dynamic beatgrid thing going. lol. Would have rather spent my time beat jumping for more fluid mixes.
Cleveland this is amazing! As someone that always plays disco, it does get tiresome to ride the pitch every few songs (yea I'm spoiled now!) Is this only on the Mac version or on all 4: Mac/PC/ iOS/Android? Because i might have to transfer my RKB data to DJay and see it work with the harder cuts (Love Insurance, Loving is Really my Game). Plus the early House and Freestyle that was SUPER off beat.
This and the performance of Djay's DVS is what is making me seriously consider shifting. DVS has kept me with Serato but now that DJay's is as good ...
DJAY Pro has always been the best software when analysing the beatgrid, especially with salsa for example, it's the only software to set the grid properly
It's been available since December 2023. People hoped Traktor 4 would employ a similar system but unfortunately not. Who's going to be next to the table?
This is the major problem I have with virtual dj. The beat grids are so bad compared to serato dj. I will definitely try Dj dynamic. Thanks for sharing
holy moley canoli, i had to use my headphones and outside ears to make the gradual mixdown on this, now you sayin the software does this automatically....wow...mixing from 'sucka mc's to monal lisa..w/no ears required...oh my...
Wow. Djay Pro is on the ball with AI. They’re giving other software programs a run for the money. I’ve been a supporter of Algoriddim for years… it’s been my back-up software but I’m looking at them very differently these days. Thanks for the video. 👏🏻👍🏻
It's an interesting and useful feature, however I think that subtracts from the actual action of being a DJ. I will concede however that the landscape is changing and will submit that at the end of the day, it's the delivery that matters, how you get there is irrelevant.
This summer I’ve had a few boat gigs and also DJd on a float in the pride parade. Dejay was the perfect software because those gigs were so bouncy I couldn’t keep a steady hand on my gear especially in the parade! Manually matching beats was next to impossible. That dynamic bead grid really works! I’m a long time Serato user and I’m using Dejay more these days and even considering switching!
No doubt dynamic beat grids are a game changer, presently offered only by DJay. I wonder why many Serato users who in the past criticized Virtual DJ for it's automated functions are now warming up to DJay.
This feature in djay pro is exactly the same as virtual djs autosync (from 2015). Its nothing unique. The reason i switched from virtual dj to serato was so i could learn to beatmatch without autosync, and ive became better at djing manually. Going to djay pro would probably be a downgrade, because it can beatmatch or mix for you.
How is Serato the best? They just have more compatibility with controllers and Serato flip 🤷🏾♂️. That’s not enough to be the best. They aren’t even on iOS or phones yet. It’s 2024 man… catch up Serato…
Man so they want you just to supervise instead of actual controlling the dj equipment? I like tech/ai but it's getting easier and easier to become a dj. Where is the art?
That's messing up the DJ that's why people out here DJing a little bit of money for that the real DJ is not getting pay no more because all this junk Virtual DJ started at first all the DJ just need is this computer sounds it don't matter what kind of equipment you got no more all the money you spent on equipment❤ breaking
Djay pro is so so good. All djs have to get onboard with it.
They are not just something djay Pro has over Serato
They have it over everybody. It's currently a feature unique to djay Pro

The waveforms don't adjust to the grid. That would be warping (like Ableton Live). In djay Pro the grids adjust to the waveform.
