Great comparison video, and one thing to bare in mind is that the engine stems is pretty much on par with other software, but this is the first release, so just imagine how good they’re gonna sound in future firmware updates.
Yeah the actually listen, they listend to all my suggestions over 3 years for the Mixstream Pro. Like on screen fx for example, I remember asking for it and they were like 😏 we got ya.
Hey Terry, Any chance of a vid explaining the step-by-step process of getting music onto Engine DJ from a 1TB SSD and the process of implementing STEMS on those music files, then exporting them to a SSD or SATA SSD for a Denon Prime 4+...Thanks in advance
@@ClevelandTerry I'm not sure what you mean, it's a very convoluted way of getting stems......I normally play track off a USB (on my DP4+) and don't have the luxury of using STEMS when DJing....I just have no idea of how to get tracks that I have stored on my portable SSD, onto Engine DJ on my laptop in order to Analize tracks for stems.....ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH
good stuff, Cleveland Terry. Stems separation seemed about the same speed for me on an m2 mac pro. Would be nice if we could hear the stems in engine desktop when prepping our music.
Engine DJ is a GOD send, for us mere MORTALS🙏 Rather than having to pay "EXORBITANT" fees for the likes of AlphaTheta, Denon💪continues to provide the best BANG for your buck. As a Prime 4 owner I would gladly pay a one time license fee @ $9.99 any day of the week and twice on Sundays, rather than committing to a subscription model👎 Well done Denon 👍, would like to see a (4-channel Rotary Mixer) from you guys; make it so🤞
Terry, exceptional as always... I actually sold my Prime 4 + but I seen you post this video and had to take a look. It seemed like it stem analyzed that 6min track pretty quickly. Do you think it's quicker than Serato?
@clevelandterry love your vids fam. Qq I'm thinking about getting this unit, but w/ NAMM around the corner in Jan, do u think I should wait. Any rumbling with a mk2?
I agree that the vocal version at the 57 sec mark of Rev Run sounds a bit muffled when you ran it through Djay Pro compared to when you ran it through the Denon Stem seperator,, I have tried the same track on my Denon Prime Go which I am running Djay Pro software connected to my iPad Air 5th Gen and I can say that it sounds much better and I can't hear the muffling that you were experiencing.. It actually sounds very clean
Question is prime 4 plus jogs wheels feels like Numark ns6mk2 which to me a bit weird to the touch compare to rev 5 which defineatly bliows it way rev 5 feels on point for mon motories
Not having stems on the fly, sucks.. I spend enough time crate surfing my music, lol process the whole collection and taking extra space on your hard drive, let’s keep it real they still have a lot work to do ..
It's a little weird that people apparently didn't know that you have been able to get stems on your Engine OS hardware by exporting to your USB using the VDJ export function. So I've had stems on my Numark Mixstream Pro for years Of cause it'll be easier to use them on the units with this new firmware update
splitting acapella is to only hear acappella, prime failed cause you can hear the beat, and thats why primes acapella sounds more cleaner without the muffled sound. cause you can hear some of the beat behind the acapella, I think Serato and DJay beats Prime hands down
@ true they still gotta keep working on it so we don’t here drums. They getting close tho. When we get stand alone quality stems it’s a wrap for pioneer😁💪🏽
don't forget its an unfair comparison cause DJay and Serato generate stems on the fly and Prime has an unfair advantage of Creating stems with proper offline analyzation, You will always get a better outcome creating offline Stems, so the winner for me is DJay then Serato and Prime is not in the race cause it basically cheated. If you want a fare fight than all platforms should be competing with offline stems
I think maybe you missed the point. Serato and DJ are using laptop computing to process the stems. Whereas prime 4+ was doing it in standalone (no laptop) and that’s why the previous versions sounded shitty, cuz it didn’t have the processing power of a laptop. So the previous race was unfair cuz prime 4+ didn’t have the same computing power. This new update now makes the race fair because all 3 now have to be processed on a laptop before using on any controller. Hope I made sense. lol
On the fly stems will never replace proper studio acapella's or instrumentals. It will always just be an aid and a tool at our disposals. It will get to pretty damn good, but never holy f that's perfect when you're comparing. When you're playing in the wild and people are 5 beers deep, they won't know the difference 😂
sounds muffled…all stems sound crappy. As it stands as a DJ, I still have yet to use stems in a live set. Even when I'm listening to dj set, I can easily tell when stems are used.
@ClevelandTerry my point is that seratos version of stems was free, dennon making it a 9 dollar upgrade for people who have invested thousands in their ecosystem for something subpar is a joke
@@djstuc I'm stating that this was a free upgrade on EVERY OTHER PIECE OF DJ SOFTWARE YOU INBRED RETARD. Denon keeps on improving. So glad I stuck it out with my Prime series equipment. Can’t wait to see what future updates and improvements they bring.

i suggested a while ago on the forums they should pre-compute stem files to play live on stand alones
As the did I it seems like a no-brainer!
