  • Sunrise to Sunset | 25 Minute Yin Yoga Stretch for the hips & legs | Melt the tension away!
    Hello everyone and welcome! This is day 9 in the Summer series "Sunrise to Sunset" where each practice is crafted in such a way that you can do it both in the morning and in the evening. Its gentle enough to get your day started but relaxing enough to wind you down. One of the benefits of doing the same practice twice, is that you are already familiar with the routine and it is a great way to down regulate the nervous system. 🔆🌙
    Today I will be guiding you through a yin yoga sequence for the lower body. This is the ultimate lower body practice as we target the hip flexors, inner/outer hips and the hamstrings. In this yin practice, we will access deeper connective tissues with longer held poses and slow deep stretches. This will put positive stress on our joints and connective tissues and help to increase flexibility and mobility.
    If when you wake up you feel stiff and heavy, this practice will ease you into motion, to help melt the stiffness away and help with flexibility/mobility. On the other hand, if your looking for an evening wind down before bed, this practice will help melt the stresses of your day away and get your ready for bed. So, if you need a nudge to get your day started or an escape before bed, this is the perfect practice for you! #yinyogastretch #eveningyoga #morningyoga
    *P.s. Reclined hero in the morning may be a bit intense for some, consider resting on your forearms or using your blocks.
    This is an all levels practice, perfect for beginners and seasoned practitioners.
    YOU WILL NEED: OPTIONAL - 2 BLOCKS

    Deer pose is a new one for me and I've been practicing for years! It was a challenging pose but I do enjoy my body doing different stretches that I'm not used to 😊

    This was so dope. Deer pose has always been a bit awkward for me but holding gently for the length we do in this video has let my body settle and really open up. Feeling hella relaxed, lots of emotions came up, thanks for softly bringing us out of every transition and for the gentle close

    I did this in the evening after a couple of days of a lot of walking. My hips have been so tight, they hurt! This practice was just what I needed! The reclined hero is always tough for me but I have learned to modify. I couldn't get down very far but I still got a very beneficial stretch out of it. Thank you for another beautiful practice! 🧘🏻‍♀️🌸❤️🌻

    Loved it ... just what I needed after I'd done a difficult leg workout earlier in the day. I swear your deep stretching is saving me from getting terrible DOMs like others are reporting on the weight training app I'm using (Caroline Girvan). Thanks again. I've done all of these Sunrise/sunset stretches at any old time of day :) I just had plain water today but thanks for reminding me about adding the mint, strawberry and cucumber!

    Not only did my body need this.. but my mind too. Before I started I was bickering with my husband but by the third pose I was able to get out of my head and just feel good☺️
    Thank you for that gift tonight.

    Holy cow that pre deer pose (reclined hero?) was so challenging for me, could not lower down very far. Looking forward to working on it! Thank you so much!

    • @YogawithShaunneka
      @YogawithShaunneka  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is challenging! But you can come to your forearms or blocks to modify, while in heroes. I also find Heros in the morning 10x more intense than say the evening. What time of day did you practice?

    • @jajakaborge
      @jajakaborge หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@YogawithShaunneka Haha, I did it in the evening and after a bit could finally lower to my forearms (not for very long). I'm so amazed you can go all the way down, definitely a goal of mine! :)

    The deer pose let me know how tight my left side is. I had to modify the pose. Overall I won’t give up. Will practice this again.

      Good stuff! that's a great mindset to have. Even modify as you go/as needed 🙏🏽

  • @emmaeIIe
    @emmaeIIe หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I enjoyed this practice and the most challenging pose was the deer pose but not as challenging as usual. I am confused with where the back hip should be. Forward or back, tucking tail bone under? Also, may I suggest a practice involving sretching the wrists a bit and/or the chest?

    • @YogawithShaunneka
      @YogawithShaunneka  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So when you tuck your tailbone under, you send your hips forward. Ok, noted! I'll keep that in mind 😊✨️

    • @emmaeIIe
      @emmaeIIe หลายเดือนก่อน

      @YogawithShaunneka Noo. That was a question 😂 I was looking for for clarification or confirmation. What to do with the hip of the back leg?

      @@emmaeIIe Ohhh, it doesn't do anything lol if I'm understanding correctly 🫣
