thank you, for the scenery, the laugh, and the adventure. You are the queens of wheels!🎉
These roads are absolutely stunning. I live in a gorgeous area for cycling, but your Yorkshire Dales leave me speechless.
Never a bad day watching your videos. Pure joy and fun. Love it Katie 😊👌🏻
The Dales are absolutely my favourite place to ride (great for walking too). Like it so much I book a week in a cottage there at least once a year - even though I only live about 30 miles away! There’s something deeply relaxing about waking up to beautiful views of hills & sheep ❤
Hello from Malham in the Yorkshire Dales. Your enthusiasm is not unappreciated, especially by those of us that live here and have cycling as our hobby. Taking someone who doesn't like climbing out of Settle on a seriously steep hill up to High Side (appropriately named). and then climbing up past Malam Cove! probably not the best idea for a reluctant climber but absolutely worthwhile. More cyclists welcome, fewer cars also welcome. We look forward to seeing you one day on your bike, coming the other way.
My wife and I were camping for a couple of days last July at Gargrave and had the pleasure of cycling from Gargrave to Airton over to Settle through Giggleswick and onto Ingleton then climbed over the moor then it started to rain by the time we got to Dent we were soaking wet but stoped for some food and a hot drink at a lovely cafe ,still raining we followed the road up to the Ribblehead viaduct ,we could here the whistle from the steam engine in the distance but only saw smoke coming from its chimney as visibility was poor , on from the Ribblehead viaduct the weather cleared as we cycled on to Seattle then home at Gargrave stopping in the village for well earned fish and chips a round trip of 69 miles. I must add we did this on our electric tandem a Moustache Samedi it’s an awesome machine as we are both in our seventies it has enabled us to keep perusing are favourite hobby of more than Forty years .
Always lovely to see you, Katie
Beautiful, better place Tasmania ❤ your welcome anytime. Heaps of awesome climbing.
I was in Settle (fromCanada) in June and did that climb too! I feel your pain!! One of the reasons I made the trip was watching videos like this. My ride through the Yorkshire Dales is one of the best rides I’ve ever ever had.
I was also in the dales from canada on my bike, dales nearly killed me some of those hills are steep.
The Dales is incredible cycling. You can spend all day climbing if you want and barely see a car.
Fair play to you for seeking it out from Canada. You must have enjoyed all the little villages and Drystone walls.
@@markfawbert2991 no strip malls, no billboard advertising, few hydro lines, very little traffic and smooth roads. Add to that spectacular scenery and that makes the Dales my favourite place to ride.
Janet's Foss, Goredale Scar and limestone pavement... superb walk!
Welcome to our back yard !! Riding in the dales is just the best. The route up the cove road climb and over the top to Arncliffe is a good one, great views if you are up there again.
simplon, furka , st gottard , susten passes are all epic, awesome roads, mountains, snow and plenty of livestock
Good to see you two back together on your trusty steeds!
Good to see you both out together. Good company.
The dales are stunning, I ride on my motorcycle all over there. My favourite place is Scotland with the highlands and the borders especially Dumfires and Galloway. North Wales also a favourite ahead of the dales. Appreciate it all though.
Was up there last week, got 3 days of sun. Fantastic riding and walking.
I am slightly (very) biased, but I agree that there aren't many places better to ride your bike than The Yorkshire Dales. So lucky to have these roads on my doorstep.
Galloway. Blow you away.
Lots of sheepiessssss n rocks Katie. Loch trool area.
Waterfalls n lots more.
But your dales are absolutely stunning.
Galloway for me. But I'm Scottish. 🙂
Katie it was a heron
The Highlands of Scotland are pretty stunning to cycle
I’m with you,the Dales is one of my favourite places to ride. Some of the best gravel rides! Oh and some nice roads too!😊
THE BEST right!
did way of the Roses a few months ago Katie and saw a lot of the dales on our way across to Bridlington so the dales is wonderful I slso stay in Whitby once a year in the summer for cycling and walking all over so yes it is a magical place 👍
Nice place, nice videos, keep up the good work please....
Great video :)
Totally agree Yorkshire dales is the best place to ride a bike 😍
It really really is!! 😍😍😍😍
I swam in Janet's Foss as a school kid on my geography field trip..... love it round there.
I LOOOOOVE it and can’t wait to go back and swim there when it’s a tad warmer :)
@@KatieKookaburra it was in March....🥶🥶🥶🥶
I need to harden up. I’m like “omg a 10% climb”
Katie : “this climb is like 20% 🙂”.
Surprised Juliet didn't have a swim as she likes wild swimming on Dartmoor 🙂
There is an even better wild swimming spot on the Ribble near Stainforth. I was in the cycle cafe in settle when half a dozen ladies popped in and told us where they had been, they go most days throughout the year. We only got talking about it as I used to kayak down the falls at Stainforth but lovely bit of river. Anyway maybe when you two next go you could join up with them I’m sure they would welcome you.
I mountain bike and cack miself when I come across cows in a field or on the trail and always let someone else go first 😂. You breezed passed em like they werent there 💪👏
Hahaha I did too, I was talking to them gently so they didn’t charge at me. I think if you gentle and not aggressive they just allow you past 😄
@@KatieKookaburra I'll stick to letting others go first 😚😚
Ur fantastic Katie big up to u both xx
I was there earlier this year, beautiful place. I bought the sheep hat!
No way?!! Ahhhh which colour? They are so cute xx
@@KatieKookaburraGreen, my favourite colour! It was an emergency buy, the weather was terrible but we still climbed up!
You're right Katie, The Yorkshire dales is the best place to ride, on and off road, living near Skipton we are so lucky to be ablt to jump on the bike and 30 mins be in the dales, next time you are over there check out Litton valley its just gorgeous.
I am VERY jealous of where you live Davy! I’m an hour’s drive so not tooooo far. But I do love it there so so much what a place
@@KatieKookaburra yep its fantastic, next time your over this way check out Paceline cycles at crosshills, great bike shop with a lovely cafe.
I don't know if I should be jealous or sad about that rain. We have not had rain for a month!
Katie, you need to get a Magic Musette and then you have a way to carry things you might buy! 👍
TWO BEST LADIES OUT AND ABOUT! one pedal goes up the other one goes down. then repeat!🥰💖💖👸👸💖💖
Beautiful kestrel at 0.37secs.
I always say "helloooo, its OK" to all the cut farm animals I meet on my local rail trail ride! They must surely know what these words mean by now!❤
Hi Kate may I ask for climbing hills what's your front chainring? Something for older rider going up hills 😅
GRX 46/30
☀️
🐿
Good morning Katie
Nope not bored of your Dales enthusiasm yet. Sheepies though is a different matter… found myself riding past a field of sheep last weekend and calling out “hello sheepies”! Had to check nobody heard, but I think I got away with it. That’s your fault that is! 😂
Yasssss they will be loving all the attention 😍
Awww I got engaged at the top of Janet’s Foss in 1988😊
Awwwww this is so romantic I love it. I would say yes there in a HEART BEAT haha
What best make of gears to have on Roade bike Dose it make difrince in speed hill climbs
I would say if you like hills or want to go up more then go for Shimano GRX, lower gearing options.
Its not called "God's own county" for nowt ❤😊
Zo te zien een erg mooie je omgeving super jammer van het weer maak niet uit .
I almost feel like a traitor saying how nice the Dales are, as I'm a Lake District boy at heart, but there is definitely 'something'. The Lakes are, for me, more beautiful, but - the roads are far busier and full of people not really paying attention, it's the reason I don't ride there as often as I should. The Dales offers a different kind of view, and a different sort of cycling, as it's more rolling / bleak in parts. I guess you could call it more expansive. It just 'feels' different. I'll be back out there tomorrow.
It’s WAY better!!!!! Dales Dales Dales!! ✨😊
@@KatieKookaburra 🤣 scrap! 🤣😁
That was quite a 'no' 1:37
I just got back last week from my UK vacation. Love your neck of the woods. I would have love to do a ride with you but we were only near you for 2 days. Better luck next time I hope. Keep riding. Love watching your rides.
OK I will name somewhere better....the peak district. Winnats Pass is incredible for the view and the steepness. Currently the Peaks lose a mark for poor road surface. It's terrible.
It’s pretty… but it’s not the Dales by a loooooong shot in my eyes 💚💚💚
Get the brand new Dales blue cycling top it’s fab.
Do you know where or if you can online?
@@ajfiest The Yorkshire Dales National Park Shops should all have them Grassington Hawes Malham, or contact the National Park they might sell them by post?
@@ajfiest follow link lovely quality cycle jersey.
@@grahambird4135 the don’t deliver to Canada :(
But thank you!!
The views are all lovely but can you do something about the weather.
Hmm, Yorkshire Dales?
Funny you've _never_ mentioned it.
🙃🙃
@@KatieKookaburra 😛🤫
First first first ❤
Was the stork actually a heron 😂😂
I'm obvs no bird watcher, I can tell a good road from a bad one but not a stork not a heron. That's why you're here to show us :)
Katie's more like your friendly neighborhood sheep shnob
It’s nice but it’s not as nice as wales 🏴
Wales is nice but it’s not the Dales 🙃
OMG yes we get that the Yorkshire Dales are the best place to ride…
They’re not btw….come to Deux Sevres region of France…way better and not so grim! I don’t mind stone walls, sheep, cows and views which seem to feature increasingly heavily in your videos…sorry just had to say 🎉
Heck NO, Dales for the win!! 🥇
@@KatieKookaburra ok fair point 🤣🤣🤣
