    Another thing worth considering for dwarf blockers (after guard) is jump up.
    It makes them able to get up and block on a 2+ or makes their movement 4 less crippling should they become stunned or something when they recover. But where it really starts to shine is when combined with piling on. Knock down and opponent, pile on then use your free jump up to stand back up. It's silly and a great removal tool. Asking for mighty blow on top of it is a stretch but really good if you can get it. Jump up is instantly useful, but really shines if you can get that third skill for piling on.

      Piling on is long gone. Pile driver is a much different skill

    I love passing with dwarfs because people don't expect it and it makes the game more fun when it works.

      Dwarf runner with long bomb will ruin a lot of teams day. Throw into space filled with dwarfs and let’s then try to retrieve it 😎

    At the end of my current league, I have 4 blodge dwarfs. My two blitzers and my two runners were my ball carriers, so... They racked spp pretty fast. One league later, and I am geared up great for the re-draft with 275.000 in treasury, several wins and draws and four banger players whom I want to see on a pitch. The rest can be let go.
    I am sitting at 1.505.000 gold for a re-draft. Good times, and all this is thanks to your videos. My first ever league was a blast, even if I lost any hope at playoffs.

    I used to build dwarf runners with dump-off and nerves of steel and played them like a rugby team.
    The runners were paired and so the one with the ball stays in the cage the other stays just outside, if your cage breaks down and they blitz the runner, he dumps it to the second runner just outside the cage and your opponent frequently has few options remaining in his turn to make it difficult for me to carry on down the field. If that second runner gets blitzed next turn it can be dumped off to either the first runner again or a blitzer. The pass is difficult to make but failing on the opponent's turn isn't the worst that can happen. Often the ball would be at my second runner's feet for him to pick up easily enough and carry on. Doing it this way get my blitzers something like 30% of my TDs in a season, but it really helped make up for the mandatory escort down the pitch and slow movement.

      @@Mech-Badger-Man As an added benefit, people start trying to cover both runners at the same time when you have the ball. It leads to slippery teams bringing more guys into the fight than they would normally be comfortable with, allowing you to remove a lot of them, and against bashy teams it spreads them out enough to maximize your guards.
      Causing a breakdown around a loose ball is a good situation for dwarfs, they almost always come out on top of the brawl to recover it.

    No no no, Hail Mary Pass and Diving Catch is the way to go! 20 square passing game without having to worry about interceptions. Gives you more time to bash ;D

    I would be tempted by a couple of “defensive” blitzers . Gaurd shutdown on a dwarf team could be insane. Need to try it out against more opponents but it’s looking good

    No real criticisms from me about the Dwarf build. I personally alternate the Blockers progression as they get skills, 1st gets MB, the Next 2 get Guard, then MB, MB, and guard. Your blockers obtain SPP So much faster with MB which means they should get Guard within a few games. Great Vid, Keep it up.

    First Runner goes Block, Dodge, Possibly On the Ball and then saves up for +MV or +AG. A Move 8 AG 2+ Runner will be excellent.
    Second Runner takes Wrestle, Strip Ball, Tackle and becomes a ball hawk.
    Blockers just take random Str Skills and you rehire those with the skills you want (Guard, Stand Firm). They will not get enough SPP in a redraft environment for you to save up to get them to pick skills. If any of them get lucky and get a cas + MVP then sure pick Guard.

    I got +agi in my runner as the first level up(need to clarify that we're plñaying with early 2000s rules so the stats are still a random roll) in a heavy bash league i'm playing (basically all passing and a handing off has a +1 penalty to the difficulty and the border lanes next to the public count as a tackle zone that can only be dodged in a 6+ with no modifiers) , but even then i'm enjoying my agile dwarf runner despite missing block.

    Block and guard on all blockers, Mighty blow on both slayers, Dodge and stand firm on blitzers, HMP on one runner with block and the other with block and dodge

    I like to get one Runner with Wrestle, Tackle and Strip Ball. They become the best possible safety for Dwarfs. Blitzers and Troll Slayers are at a disadvantage against opposition Runners with Block as they can't shake the ball loose, but the Runner with Wrestle can.

    I recommend dump off as third or fourth skill far the Runner. He has a 3+ passing, plays in the pocket and has his fellow players close by

      It's a 4+ passing now with the stat split, but yeah, I used to run dump-off/NOS on runners and played like a rugby team. If the cage breaks down and the runner is blitzed, I dump off to the other runner who is just outside the cage. Since the opponent has just blitzed and broken down the cage he probably doesn't have many actions left to hamper your efforts.
      The second runner can then dump-off to either the first runner or a blitzer if the same happens to him. Once they both have NOS this tactic starts succeeding far more often than people think it will. In either case you're passing on the opponent's turn so it's not as big a deal if you fail and generally causing a breakdown around the ball goes well for dwarfs. Especially slippery teams often have to commit more than they're comfortable with if they want to recover the ball. So even if you fail, you tend to get the ball back more often than not. There's always some risk of bad ball scattering though.

    On the ball for the Runner could be especially helpful given that the blitz KO event has been nerfed (3 players max I think). The Runner should be able to get to the ball, or an opponent's player(s) in any offensive set up.

    I tend to give 1 troll slayer guard ASAP because it lets me frenzy a guard piece into position ie behind there line

    Stand firm on slayers, you can still get ag access on one runners. Blodgestep fend!
    If going with 2 runners, take Wrestle on the other, pop the ball out.

    Stupid question cause i'm french but are the space means something (like group where one is for a strategy and one is for another) and there is a order of preference in your presentation or you just write the skill in a random order?       Actually yes, I tend to do the most important / highest value skills at the top, and then I'll drop the 2nd/3rd tier skills down lower! I'm not sure if it helps or not, but it's how my mind works haha!

    I took Leader as the second skill on the runner - after block - was surprised to not see it mentioned here. Isn't a team reroll for 20k team value increase kind of good? Maybe I'm missing something.

    Hey Ben. Sorry it's unrelated but I just read the rules on Rerolls. I don't see anywhere that a team can't use a max of 1 RR per turn anymore. Did you already speak about it in a video? Do you think it's a typo they'll FAQ soon? What is your opinion about it? I personally think it could be a game changer....

    You said Dwarf runner has 4+ PA then changed it to 3+ PA
    So for the Dwarf runner i think you are looking at
    Block, Characteristic improvement and if it fails you take Dodge/break tackle (So he can play the run game), On the ball,
    I don't think you take nerves of steel or Accurate because of the 4+.
    Dwarf Blitzer
    Characteristic improvement and if it fails you take Dodge/break tackle, Guard, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Frenzy, Dauntless
    Troll Slayer
    Mighty Blow (I think you take this first), Characterisitc improvement and if it fails go dodge, Guard, Stand firm, maybe pile driver
    Dwarf Blocker
    Guard, Mighty Blow, if a characteristic increase fails go dodge, Maybe get Dauntless and Frenzy, One of them gets kick at some point.
    Death Roller
    Yep I think you go Pile Driver, Brawler, Multiple block. I think you really want pile driver here for the dirty player + 2 and you
    just attempt to foul as much as possible. If the death roller gets sent off oh well they were going to anyways.
    Hmm random strength skills I wonder if it would be worth it on Death Roller.

    I'm still playing Blood Bowl 2 on PC instead of the new rules and frankly the Dwarf runner having passing 4+ is really starting to irk me quite a bit.
    A piece that has access to passing skills on a primary with a base passing stat of 4+ is quite bad, 3+ would have been more reasonable. I don't even know why the runners even need access to passing with the throw stat being that bad (Leader, maybe). For all intents and purposes otherwise, they essentially only get general skills now on a primary.
    I never swore by Dwarf passing before, but I'll be damned if it's not a lot better than I expected in BB2, especially against teams like Lizardmen that can be very difficult for Dwarfs to push through. Basically I have one standard runner build and one runner with safe throw (has saved me from two INTs) and accurate. Essentially I form the cage as normal around the thrower and begin down the field with blitzers and the second runner going in "deep" to block access to the cage with tackle zones. Eventually one of them will serve as a receiver to score quite easily from a pass. It's frequently a turn or two faster than running the ball the whole way, too. That can be a really big deal if you find yourself trailing. Nothing quite like salvaging a draw from pro elves because you landed a long pass with dwarfs on the second half of turn 15 and they can't stop it.

      Honestly that dwarf passing game was always a lot better than people thought! Especially when someone rolled a cheeky +1AG!
      And yeah, that's all different now! -1 to passing, and harder to level up that throwing ability.
      However, like you said Leader is great, and so is On The Ball! 3 free squares when receiving and whenever the oppo throws the ball is going to be great for a slow team like dwarves!
      But ultimately you are right, sadly, the passing game opportunity has taken a hard hit!!

    I played a dwarf runner online on bb2 that ended up with +1 str +1 move and block dodge. gotta love the luck of the dice sometimes lol
