Brilliant compilation. I was at the track for some of these. Barry Sheavills was legendary. Let’s give full support to Keith and the teams for a full season now the Covid bollox is waning.
I was there many years ago when Stripteaser and Earsplittenloudenboomer ran, pubcrawler ran on butane and there was a wheelie car a Stingray among others.
I was standing next to the ITV camera when Roland Pratt and Transcontinental crashed, I got a great photo with the rear wheel about a metre off the ground. {Great photo for 12 year old with a Kodak instamatic...}
The field on the right at the top end has seen some action. I remember stardust burn to a crisp and the miracle of Dave getting out of it (I think Gary page helped him get the belts undone?) And a bike (John Hobbs? ) Going off into the field
there is a LOT OF = INCORRECT DIFF ACTION = LOCK UP = pushing cars sideways ! A GREAT RACER TOLD ME = get your rear end checked every pass ! = pushing both wheels the same ! keep the tires on the track !
Sorry my first reply has disapeard. Its europes oldest drag strip.I have Been going since the 1970s.Euro final is a great event, its the one we try and go too every few years. On site camping fun fair ,loads going on.I highley rekomend going to one of there big events.kind regards.
At 18:55, maybe when your car blows up and catches fire you should like,....... stop. Then, later, that same day, when you get a chance, turn off the fuel pump.
Well most of the first part of Gary Page's fireball looks like my footage??? I showed it to him in the pits not long after!! (I thought he had rolled when it was behind the fire truck! he said it had just spun around!)
With the power of these, machines I believe they should have enough room without destroying their vehicles along a concrete barrier to be able to recover without destroying their vehicles.
Santa Pod was named after Santa Ana Drags, a drag strip in California, USA, and the local village of Podington. Since then the name Santa Pod has become synonymous with the sport of drag racing in Europe. :D
When you consider how much it costs to run any form of motorsport and that investment can, literally, go up in smoke in the blink of an eye 👁 it makes me wonder why anyone would want to throw away that kind of money 💰, we all know what compels drivers, adrenaline junkies, but the money men and women, they must be gambling addicts.
well done UK - GREAT ACTION = thank you from Australia !
The saves were incredible as well as the crashes. As for the spills well the cameraman at the end took the cake on that one

Thank you Mike 👏
Those who watch to the end are rewarded for their patience. :D

I was there many years ago when Stripteaser and Earsplittenloudenboomer ran, pubcrawler ran on butane and there was a wheelie car a Stingray among others.
That mini stripteaser was a handfull,it used to rock side to side on its back wheels.I saw it parked up near me in surbiton surrey a few years later.

2:33 Me & my mate's first visit to Santa Pod. We were stood at the start line by the left-hand lane. It literally happened right in front of us.

I liked it so much I watched it again, immediately. The last clip ? Wtf can you say?
The field on the right at the top end has seen some action.

19:09. I never thought the Netherlands had a drag racing team (proud dutchie over here)
Did anybody else notice, that that last VW that flipped on its side, it was literally the exhaust tip that kicked it over lol. That's how light it is
24:31 If it wasn’t for that tailpipe he might’ve saved it.
24:50 Good thing she was wearing her leathers.
16:26 What ET did the wheel do?
😂
That's what I love about the NHRA world record holders!
Best ending ever
I love how there is a wind mill at the end of the drag strip that uses 15 or more gallons of fuel in 3 to 10 seconds 😅
I didn't know they had drag racing in England
Btw the europian finals is in september.Or normally is around that month.👍

4:53 Dmitry Samorukov he needs to change his diaper 😂
4:06 is a real yardsale extravaganza. That car exploded like it had 1000 pounds of explosive in it!
The best crash was at the end.😁
Niiiice ! thks!
Wow 👌
Nice!
@13:26 What happened after that crash. Would love to know the story of the repairs needed and how long until the next race event could go ahead? 😂😂
The wall is undefeated.
Hey 12 seconds on the roof not so bad.
Windmill at the end any clue to how windy the conditions are here?
That last one lol !
It’s great to see the UK is tempting some foreign talent to come play.
shout out to the camera man at the end, his camera took all the impact
💥
2:00 wow that guy held on to the wheelee bit savong him from the pavement.
What happened at 15:00?
Harness wasn't properly done up and hit his head in the wheel

haha that ending was funny
Tony Betts crash is very similar to Kevin Chapmans crash at the main event this year
The worse wreck in this video is at 24:52
24:52 is funny 😳
Some of these drivers wouldn't crash so damn hard if they'd only toss their laundry! (parachute)
All the safety equipment
What is the history behind the name "Santa Pod." I'm genuinely interested as it sounds like it'd almost have to be an interesting story.
Santa Pod was named after Santa Ana Drags, a drag strip in California, USA, and the local village of Podington. Since then the name Santa Pod has become synonymous with the sport of drag racing in Europe. :D
@@SantaPodTV Cool thanks!
I was wondering through the whole video
Soon, Soon I will make it to santa pod and lay down a sick 16 second quarter mile and my car won't break down. Soon.
Soon
Lol, he's going to be singed!
Looks like a great video. Don't really like watching my people crash though
Why the parachutes are not automated to deploy when the vehicle does something catastrophic?
2:47 is that Jeremy Clarkson commentating?!
The one at the end probably got more injured than the person on the bike who looped it,I felt that camera in chest 😖
18:45: Cop car pitted him! Cool!
Did anyone notice the photographer at the end fall on her face?
I had to watch it in super slow mo
the ending of this movie.. what the..
สุดยอด
Why not wheelie bars on all? And why flat under body, use tunnels like formula one?
Class rules I guess.
God dam they crash those fine vehicles - Hope all walked away in one piece
yellow ford go hoppity hoppity
What's up with that photographer?first day with new feet or what?
🎇🌟💥
Debris not “daybris”
I wish every run was successful.
I hate wipe outs..
