I'm going to try my best. There is a No Prep Kings race in Norwalk, Ohio on Friday and Saturday and I'm going to try and leave Sat night to make it to Byron and get ready for the contest on Sunday. Hopefully that all works out good.

No. He caused the crash. Watch the front wheels. He did the same thingy everyone does on wet pavement that ends up in a ditch.... he oversteered multiple times. Watch the front wheels.

Yeah he was doing good at first and could have straightened it after the 4th whip but over corrected instead of letting the wheel correct itself

Had you known it never had to be one at all wouldn't that suck .. Drivers get spooked they immediately overreact with the wheel which exacerbates the problem to what you see .. Period ...really simple .. the guys who don't never hit anything .. the car settles down they drive back on the return road the guys who wreck have long story's forgetting of course we have the slow mo video footage showing the wheel being over corrected 3 sometimes 5 times...
I love how the crowd cheered when the driver managed to save himself from crashing

I've talked to some of the faster cars on the No Prep Kings races and they are hitting 180mph in the 1/8th mile. I would call that pretty fast on a no prep track.

6:30 Reminds me perfectly of crashes I used to see all the time in vintage stock car racing. People dont realize that cars back then had such small moments of Inertia on their side axis; so once they turn around, they almost certain flip.

@@tomeighty in that situation when he almost has it back under control, wouldn't it be better to pull the chute ?
Yeah, most everybody would say pulling the chute would be the right thing to do. But with that being said it can sometimes be a big mistake also, because if you are not straight or the chute pulls you to one side or another when it deploys it will put you straight into the wall. But when working properly it should straighten out a car right away after being deployed. Good question!

That second run; the guy should've lifted at 100 feet out. He was already losing traction. Ya just gotta lift and give up sometimes.
The Camaro with the blue blower at 12:30 mark is best save. Watch the front wheels. He knows what his car is going to do and doesn't overreact. Very subtle steering. Classy save !
Also fun to guess which car and the "cookie monster blue 😆" mustang was an easy call. Thought it would be immediately out of the hole the way they were revving up. Wasn't too far off 😂😂😂

As much as I love these crazy mishaps, I see this compilation was much more mild and no injuriers. Seems many of the cars could be salvaged and live to see another day.

The silver Chevy II came into boost and grabbed 2nd gear just in time- before that 68 Plymouth came at him and flipped.

1/8 mile is not a drag race. Only reason people like it is that there are so many crashes, caused by the super low gears they have to run on that short of track. 1/8 mile is nothing but a straight line demo derby. 1/4 mile is the only real drag racing.

its usually something in the suspension breaks when one makes a hard turn into the wall... or it just spins and gets out of shape

4:20 -- It looked like he didn't get a good burnout on his left rear and his back end snapped him hard to the left that time as well. Seemed like he may have been destined to hit the wall after that.

6:54 you can see how the top isnt effected much because of how they were made back then ( i guess the roll cage might have done it too now that i think about it)
Not so much into the cars getting all damaged. What I was impressed with were the ones that were able to escape damage.
