the 3d printed box is so cool to just make your own at your own size very nice and also I have a folding bike I put it in the shopping cart when i go to a store I live in NY and there's no way it would still be there when I got back outside
Nice build...but I think soldering near those cells is risky, you could use a sheet of nickel so that you can spot weld directly to the cells and then solder further away to prevent excess heat from damaging the cells. Otherwise looks very well done.
You're one very smart technical young man to be able to do what you did and your ebike looks awesome however batteries today cost less than if you make them yourself so I would not get into making my own. Also most people don't have the machinery or tools or the technical knowledge to do what you did so it's better for most people to just buy a battery. I think anybody who buys a kit and buys a battery can get away with making a beautiful ebike for a very minimal price and have it look just as good as yours.
@@kenbad8271 You can always get more power and performance out of a battery that you custom design for your bike. Cost is much less if you buy recovered cells
Great video and project. Here's a tip for you though when you cut aluminium with a friction disc, if you take an ordinary candle of any shape or flavor and wax the disc by holding the candle against each side and the edge of the disc while it is spinning. It will make the blade cut much quicker and cleaner and make the blade last much longer. You have to reapply it as needed.
Real nice project. I've a similar project on the way, I'll be making a 3000w 20'' fat bike, let's see if I can make it just as nice as yours. Will be a 72V 18 or 21AH battery, for the 3000w hub motor. You can reach 60km/h with 52V, that'a great, the hub motor page says 73km/h with the 72v, is much more than I need. Was inspiring to see you video.
Heya ,with the 72 volt 21ah youll make the power ,but the math says this guys 2000 watt wont make on that motor and pack.that 72 volt level makes all the difference ,they get scarey fast
@@Laamlee-yt Due to vdrop you should use nominal voltage imo? 35*52=1820. And I'd say a "2kw bike" should be able to run constant 2kw, not peak...? Nice build tho.
57 km/h - it's ok, but no wow. Distance 27 km - it's very very bad with this VERY BIG accumulator 🤦♂️ I thought minimum 70 km/h and distance 90-100 km. But you very genius man, we wait new model, with better parameters 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥💥💥 Love you content 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing work. I'm custom building my bike with same foldable bike frame and a 1500W rear tire kit. With your battery kit setup you are no longer able to fold your bike correct?
Please use insulator paper on the top of your cells (the +), you are asking for a melt-through or wear through on those strips and you are not going to like it when that happens, this is a pretty dangerous pack. And please round off the edges of your strips rather than to leave the very sharp points sticking out (also a reason why many packs fail, vibration of the loose ends allows them to wear through the heatshrink of the batteries). Wire bonding the copper wires to the steel would be a better way to attach them, otherwise weld a strip to the pack and solder to that (or first solder to the strip and then weld the strip onto the pack). That way you inject a lot less heat into the cells, especially a problem with the - of the cells. Finally, you should lay out your wires so that they do not cross, yet another reason packs catch fire is balancer/sense wire shorts. What kind of welder do you use?
Beautiful bike and is a reasonable distance. How long does it charge a full battery? your work is neat like a professional manufacturer. I would like to have one, can we talk?
Please turn on the subtitle (Vietnamese & English available)
What good is the subtitle if you're not even talking????
Ok nvm it's working

Adhesive tape should not fall on the battery contact, such slip leads to voltage leakage.
