Whaaat? You totally missed it, probably because of all that nail biting bike sorcery he was able to capture. I haven't seen trail thrashing that rad since Joey Moskowitz lost a wheel mid-flight on his candy apple red BMX while jumping hills at the ore-cuts in Junior High. Shit made the Wichita paper.
I had to use my journey t shirt to stop the arterial bleeding from where his upper thigh was penetrated all the way through by one of the forks bending backward upon landing! But that pales in comparison to this video. I felt the instructions were clear and concise, and the editing was studio worthy, as was the costume changes. The parts I found exciting were the points on chain dynamics, gear box to helmet ratio, and steady state theory. What do you want him to do, tell you how to install it??? C'mon!!
As far as I'm concerned, my next stop will be swagging my beast out with rad gear....saddle bags , more decals, then the next stop will be BIKE WEEK, WOOT!! Daytona WOOT, WOOT...BEACH ....WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!

It certainly looks a lot easier to install it than early generation conversion kits with their strap on bags, wires all over the place, warnings not to get the kit wet or rained on. The placement of the mid drive motor & electronics makes this ideal for normal or reverse trikes, recumbent, maybe even some quads or multiple passenger bikes.

I did a whole season with the BBS02 in Northern Ontario. It can handle rain sleet and snow like nothing.
The programming cables helps a lot.
I unlocked 9 levels and slow each of them down so my legs don't spin too fast.
You get that when the speed is about 10% less than power level.

Hey there! I just stumbled upon a new project called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike and it sounds incredible! Not only does it offer a smooth riding experience, but it also has some outstanding features. One feature that caught my attention is the indoor recharge capability, allowing you to charge the bike while using it indoors. That's a game-changer for those rainy or snowy days when you can't go outside. Plus, with its 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires, it seems like it can handle any terrain with ease. Can't wait to try it out myself! Keep up the great work, freebeat!

When you add the price of battery and display in there, you're starting to approach the price of a pre-built ebike. Kits seem like a good option if you already have a decent bike frame on hand, though. I wonder if it's practical to DIY a battery pack out of 18650's or another lithium-ion cell to the same specs as the factory battery pack--that'd bring the cost of these kits down dramatically.

The Best Ebike Conversion Kit of 2022 is from Grin Technologies. Their All-axle hub is lighter than many mid-drives. Regenerative braking (brakes last much longer) and Statorade cooling are options not available to mid-drive bikes. Their TSM-A5 is a hub motor with an Integrated Torque Sensor for custom smooth assist.
Their Phaserunner / Baserunner controllers are compact state-of-the-art field-oriented motor controllers that are fully programmable parameters (regen voltage, max phase and battery currents etc.) including Field Weakening that allows you to run motors faster than normal back-emf limit. (Bafang motors are locked down, preventing you from dialing a twitchy throttle in to your custom preference)

In addition, I use Greenworks 60v batteries (5aH) but you have to be careful as the system will shutdown for over voltage protection (Error code 07) when anything over 60v is detected. I have over 1200 miles on the ebike as of Dec. 2022 and it still runs like new.
Drivetrain is 3-speed Nexus IGH. Actually, you can do fine with just a single speed sprocket. I wouldn't think you'd ever need more that 5 speeds if you're using an ebike.

Ive had no problem going to 56V I read somewhere that the speed controller is fine with it . Its the AMPs that will blow the controller. I set my max amps to 20 amps with the programmer, i forget but 28amps is actual MAX. so 56x20=1120watts. I have it geared with a 38 tooth Lekki on the front for so many reasons. I 3dprinted a battery holder with aluminum contacts that looks very close to what the EGO charger looks like. You could repurpose an extra charger if you dont have a 3dprinter.

Top tip, for mounting the battery use 'rivnuts' as only two bolts to hold the battery isn't enough. I've been running this exact set up for around 7 months with no problems since using extra bolts to hold my battery, which is a 52v version.
Also the gear change sensor is a must. It'll save your chain and all other drive components. I've also put on a 203 front rotor which is very wise as my bike does 59kph on the flat, standard 160 rotors struggle, I've also a 160 fully floating rotor on the rear.
Whys your battery upside down? If you have it on the right way up water won't go into it.

Thanks for the vid. I'm disappointed that the BB shaft is a square tapered design. Ditching your modern cranks and downgrading makes no sense. Another concern is the cheap chainring. The chain will drop as soon as you hit a bump or even when back pedaling, so right from the start, one needs to replace it with a narrow wide aftermarket ring.

  • @DaRush-The_Soviet_Gamer

Mid drive is great as you get the advantage of gears, but i feel like it will increase likelihood of bad shifting while going uphill. I live in wales with very steep hills, so I think a 1000W for a 120kg guy would be a better option. Perhaps a 1000Kw on the back wheel and 300 W on the front wheel. More hill climbing power and 2 wheel drive for offroading in sand and snow.

    • @biffmalibu3733
      @biffmalibu3733 ปีที่แล้ว

I went with a hub drive because I'm new to e bikes and figured I would destroy the chain with poorly timed shifts on hills. Once I get some miles under my belt I'll probably switch to a mid drive. Mids have the advantage of keeping the motor in the sweet spot but for beginners hubs are more forgiving.

Actually, the BBS02-750 has 120Nm of torque - not just 100nm as you stated. To quote their website:
"Powerful, fast, and quiet Bafang BBS02B street-legal mid-drive motor. This motor is rated at 750 watts but puts out a 1470 watts peak when asked and does it more quietly than any e-bike on the market. With 120 Nm of torque, it has 50% more torque and 100% more power than the motors currently sold in factory e-bikes."

I bought a cable where I can plug into the software with my phone and use an app I downloaded to change the percentages of power on each pedal assist. So like 5% on 1, 10% on 2 etc. That way you can fine tune each PAS mode to your needs. Going 10 mph on PAS 1 is too fast in my opinion, it should be more like 4 or 5 mph. I also changed out the 46 tooth front gear mine came with to a 32 tooth as it would hit almost 40 MPH at top speed which was nuts, now it only hits 30ish.
