I think that was the unmodified version, which is junk, when you put the mods on it it gets about +3 more damage, more ammo, a better sight, and a silencer, it's one of the few guns in the game that can have a silencer on it.

Its ironic the video is about upgrading guns but the black stock varmint rifle is actually the unique variant "ratslayer" you find with all the mods and it has +5 damage. Not only its completely different weapon but also one you can´t upgrade at all.
The varment rifle and the rat slayer does have one advantage out of all scope rifle and it does not shake around when you aim and with any weapons in the game it does more damage when you sneak attack and the ammo types does affect its damage but that guy have to be high as shit if he think it's the most powerful weapon in the game
Spiked knuckels should be in this list,i know its not an early games weapon but with right perks and skill point that weapon can be a killing machine,i remember killing all the legion in the fort with only spiked knuckels,and also if you want to get it in early games just go to vikki and vances casino in primm and go to the room with a lot of safes(the door to that room is locked and if you don't have enough lockpick skillpoint just wait for the primm npc open the door and then you can enter the room with a lot of safes)and in one of the open safes there is a spiked knuckel along with some chems and 9mm submachinegun
The Rift Inducer from Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is incredibly OP as you upgrade it, it is my #1 favorite weapon throughout the entire series, it fires a Black Hole at your enemies, allowing them to get sucked in while receiving damage. The more you upgrade the Rift Inducer the more the range gets bigger so enemies that are farther away get sucked in and the more damage it does. This gun is exceptionally devastating in arenas and big enemy group raids, I played with that gun throughout most of the game, while using the rest very seldom.
You could remake this vid with just weapons from the R&C series and it would be just as good. Like, "It's a pistol" "Now it's twin machine guns that shoot seeking fireballs". "It's a burp gun" "Now it can destroy everything in a given direction". "It turns people into chickens" "The chickens are now the devil, seek and attack enemies, and then explode". "It's an RPG" "It shoots seeking swarm rockets". "a grenade" "seeking clusterbombs"
Zenith sword from Terraria REALLY should have been here. It has an upgrade path that spans the entire game combining more than 20 weapons into one and it is INSANELY strong compared to everything else and the damage is AoE.
"The Ebony Blade, from Skyrim." Yeah, or literally any weapon from Skyrim. If you do blacksmithing right even a lowly iron dagger can be upgrade to god-killer levels of damage.
The Crossbow in BioShock 1, is also one of the best weapons, you can upgrade to do extreme damage. If you take it to Power to the People machines, there are 2 upgrades that are worth getting. The Damage Increase and Bolt Breakage decrease. The former offers 25% damage increase to all enemies and the latter offers a high chance of retrieving bolts that were fired to the enemies. Even at stock form, headshots will net a 10x Damage (1000%) to any splicer at any game difficulty. Combined with some tonics, and you can literally one shot many splicers quietly and retrieve the bolts you fired to them making ammo for it a non-issue.
Upgrading a fork in Skyrim via smithing and an enchanting/alchemy loop. The upgrades done this way are insane for any weapon, but changing dinnerware into something that can one-shot a dragon is pretty extreme...
I was thinking of The Handcannon from Resident Evil 4. It’s a secret weapon you can unlock and, when fully upgraded, it obliterates everything in the game; one-shotting every boss.

The wooden sword sounds like a nod to Miyamoto Musashi. Who won several sword duels with a wooden sword. His most famous duel he won with a wooden sword he made from a boat oar. Which I always assumed was huge. like the one you upgrade the wooden sword into.
In FFXV, the sword Noctis starts with an be upgraded from the "Engine Blade" to one of the most powerful swords in the game, the Ultima Blade. Takes some time and effort to gather the resources, but it's worth it.
The desert hunter from rouge galaxy that you get in first 10 minutes of the game has to be the coolest. There are hundreds of swords in the game. And there are 0 indication throughout the whole game that combining it with stronger swords would gradually make it thr strongest sword in the game. So discovering that was the coolest moment of my life

What’s more, that’s not even an upgraded varmint rifle. That’s a special variant named Rat Slayer you can get by taking the wild wasteland perk. It’s a good gun to get in the early game but it’s very outclassed by other stuff later on.
The pistol from Control! You get the exploding rounds upgrades and a fee high tier damage and radius mods you can clear rooms in seconds! Most satisfying gun I've ever used in a game!
7:12 I may be wrong, but from what I understand, it's kind of the same in Payday 2, when one pellet connects, it's as if said victim/target took every single one (while the rest are ignored).
Copper Shortsword and Zenith. It is more of merge various blades into one with only Night's Edge and Excalibur needing upgrading into the Terra Blade, but if you make sure to keep that one little shortsword, you've got a piece of the biggest weapon upgrade in the game.
It was very surprised that the Zenith was not on this list since it is infact upgraded from the worst sword in the game all the way to the most OP weapon in the entire game.
6:22 There is a special varmint rifle variant found in a place called the Broc Flower Cavern. If you make it through all of the giant rats, which are some of the easiest enemies to defeat in the game, you can get your hands on the Ratslayer which does more damage and is already equipped with the suppressor and scope

Uh no, Jake. You're wrong about that last one. The cursed version Artorias' greatsword allows you to hit ghosts without needing a transient curse. Considering that's the next area after Sif, the utility more than makes up for the damage difference.
Eh, I guess. You only need like 2 transient curses to get through the ghost part, and the ghosts themselves drop them fairly frequently. I'd rather use a faster weapon against the ghosts personally.
The axe from blood borne is an absolute beast. I think you get it right at the start of the game. And I literally played through the whole game with only this weapon. It’s charged r2 hit when fully extended staggers enemies and gives you time to hit them even more. Also the fact that you’re spinning whilst doing it means you’re hitting everything around you. I loved that axe. It was the best weapon and it does insane damage too. I’ve fully upgraded it and it’s by far my best weapon.
This is true plus it has very high rally potential which gives you more health back after being hit and gives you more time to get the health back, I mostly beat the game the first time with this weapon until ludwigs holy blade finally did more damage and then I mastered parrying which I didn’t use much because of the axe and how you use it prevented me from parrying much but yea the hunters axe is one of the most devastating and high powered weapons in the entire game

Later on I tried different weapons because some bosses where to quick for my taste and the axe couldn’t be used to it’s full potential so I used other weapons but for the most part that thing carried me through out all boss fights I even smacked the moon presence with that weapon and became one myself. And it’s kind of badass to be swinging a giant axe around bayblade style.
The Sledgehammer and Baseball Bat from Fallout 4. Mods for them are insane at later levels and melee damage is character-boostable to insane lengths as well. Two of the best examples of a pretty useless initial weapon going all the way to the top in the later stages of a playthrough.
When he brought up "Gordon Freeman's Crowbar" from Half-Life at 2:19, that really hit me. My friends and I used to play Half-Life when we were younger. It really is an amazing game.
I always think about how the Spray-And-Pray submachine gun in Fallout 4 was absolutely gamebreaking...it starts off cool, but when you boost up your explosives stats you basically become a God as long as you can keep your distance.
For me the most op weapon i ever used in a video games was 1> nuclear sword from sunset overdrive, unfortunately it was a mission Locked thing... But it was the most fun weapon i ever used from its creation to complation every but was fun ...😌
my favorite is the Dispersion Pistol from the very first Unreal game(before it was called Unreal Tournament). It had 4 upgrades you found while playing the single player campaign and each one morphed the gun into a more powerful and cooler looking version. It hit super hard with the 4th upgrade.
But it's so slow (and the shots go even SLOWER as you upgrade it) you can only really use it on the Titan and the Skaarj Queen. Everyone else just dodges the shots.
Yeah that's to balance it because of it's other attributes not that skyrim is a balanced game by any means. but you can just craft way more powerful gear than anything you can find anyway which unfortunately just makes special items pretty redundant, and by extention makes exploration late game just boring and unrewarding
Possessed weapons from Darksiders 2. When you usually first get them, they have less damage than a common weapon and usually have no bonus stats. But if you have either: A) high end loot with good stats, or: B) Sacrificial amulets... You can upgrade Possessed weapons by feeding them your loot to make outpace every weapon around its level. I personally save-scummed to make a powerful possessed weapon so good that it was able to compete with the Aftermath which is a secret super weapon you get for beating a 100 round gauntlet... which also hits the damage cap and crashes the game whenever I get a crit lol.
@@toshironikko no the pistol you start with it gets crazy crit rates at max level, pops heads like water balloons, but you end up dealing with alot of parasite heads, so its kinda a double edged sword.
Every one as you were going through, I was waiting to see the wooden sword from ninja gaiden. I played that game back in the day, it has to be one of my earliest titles. But my uncle showed me that and it just exemplified this list in my opinion. So happy it made it
It is the best sword in Witcher 3, but when you get it, its already pretty good, otherwise I dont see a reason why they didnt add it to the list. Or it will be in the 2nd video about this type of weapons
Concerning the Ebony Blade, mercenaries can also count towards upgrading it. So all it really takes to upgrade that sword is a couple chests of gold and a lotta buckets of blood.
And with a maxed out conjuration skill, you can resurrect that mercenary again and again, rapidly beefing up your ebony blade without having to fetch new victims.
6:22 I could've sworn the varmint rifle uses 5.56 not .22 but then that if you do use the right perks and ammo types depending on the type of enemy it is really good I actually recommend it for a stealth build
One of my favorites is the hand cannon on Resident Evil 5. You have to fully upgrade the first magnum you get all the way to even unlock the weapon but if you do and upgrade that weapon the only thing stronger then that is the rocket launcher. I loved it!
Aerondight from the Witcher games is a shout for this list. Basically unlimited upgrades if you use it enough, you never need another silver sword again once you have it.
The Robot's Left Hand from Enter the Gungeon. How the game works is that every character starts with a weak gun with infinite ammunition. Every level has 2 guaranteed treasure chess and more can randomly spawn. You can open them to get better guns and helpful items, as long as you have keys. If you don't have keys, you can destroy chests, which might give some minor items or Junk. The game has a special mode called Rainbow Run, which spawns a rainbow chest at the start of each level which several items to choose from. Regular chests still spawn in the levels. They will be empty if unlocked, but can still give Junk if destroyed. The Robot's Left Hand is the best of the starting guns and it can be upgraded with Junk. Since the Robot's Left Hand can be upgraded to compete with guns from chests, you don't need to pick up guns from the rainbow chests and can instead pick passive items to upgrade the Robot's Left Hand even further and at the end of the game, it can become more powerful than many of the high end weapons.
In Skyrim there is a bug that U can exploit to make any weapon op as heck. You can use this bug to make a fork 1 shot a legendary dragon in legendary difficulty. plus this applies to armor as well making your character an absolute unit

No laser gun from from wolfenstein?? When you got it for the first time it is used only for cutting fences but later you upgrade it the weapon transforms into a massive high tech weapon that one shots literally everything.

That Plasma Cutter, when you upgrade the fire rate to the highest you can get it its by far THE BEST gun in the game. I ran through that game with that one weapon pretty fast with that
The Metro Series like Last Light and Exodus fits easily on this list. Take a pistol and turn it into a revolver sniper rifle and such. Wish more games were that creative.
Im not sure as it qualifice but Lazercraftwerk from Wolfenstein : new oder , starts as prety crypi gun but as you finding upgrages (moust specifikly one what make you can shoot all shots at onec! and one what can recharge your gun to full even in backpack), it ge Absud.
I have to give a shoutout to Ichiban's starting Hero's Bat in Yakuza Like a Dragon. Literally pulls it out of the asphalt like Excalibur and unlocks the Hero job (class) and you can upgrade it over the course of the game unlike most weapons, keeping up with Ichiban's level all the way through the story
One of my favs: Dark Souls 2, Sanier's Spear. When the rock is still stuck to it, it's useless, slow but it has like 500 durability (A LOT), but when you break it, It becomes a fantastic spear with dualblade sword's moveset, also it has no durability, it's unbreakeable. Surely it's a tedius task to break the spear in the first place (since durability regenerates on bonefires), but you can...cheese it by hitting a corpse.
The volatile Hunter baton in dying light when you get to legend and start putting upgrades on one handed weapons add a couple king sockets. One hit kills and durable as hell

Uh no, Jake. You're wrong about that last one. The cursed version Artorias' greatsword allows you to hit ghosts without needing a transient curse. Considering that's the next area after Sif, the utility more than makes up for the damage difference.
Eh, I guess. You only need like 2 transient curses to get through the ghost part, and the ghosts themselves drop them fairly frequently. I'd rather use a faster weapon against the ghosts personally.

The axe from blood borne is an absolute beast. I think you get it right at the start of the game. And I literally played through the whole game with only this weapon. It’s charged r2 hit when fully extended staggers enemies and gives you time to hit them even more. Also the fact that you’re spinning whilst doing it means you’re hitting everything around you. I loved that axe. It was the best weapon and it does insane damage too. I’ve fully upgraded it and it’s by far my best weapon.
This is true plus it has very high rally potential which gives you more health back after being hit and gives you more time to get the health back, I mostly beat the game the first time with this weapon until ludwigs holy blade finally did more damage and then I mastered parrying which I didn’t use much because of the axe and how you use it prevented me from parrying much but yea the hunters axe is one of the most devastating and high powered weapons in the entire game
@@viktor_v-ughnda_vaudville_476 I loved it. I’ve played about 125 hours of blood borne and almost every time it was with that Axe. Later on I tried different weapons because some bosses where to quick for my taste and the axe couldn’t be used to it’s full potential so I used other weapons but for the most part that thing carried me through out all boss fights I even smacked the moon presence with that weapon and became one myself. And it’s kind of badass to be swinging a giant axe around bayblade style.
The Sledgehammer and Baseball Bat from Fallout 4. Mods for them are insane at later levels and melee damage is character-boostable to insane lengths as well. Two of the best examples of a pretty useless initial weapon going all the way to the top in the later stages of a playthrough.

I always think about how the Spray-And-Pray submachine gun in Fallout 4 was absolutely gamebreaking...it starts off cool, but when you boost up your explosives stats you basically become a God as long as you can keep your distance.
the splattercannon is also op as fuck, it's easily obtainable, as long as you have enough caps, whick you'll probably have if you're 30+ level

For me the most op weapon i ever used in a video games was 1> nuclear sword from sunset overdrive, unfortunately it was a mission Locked thing... But it was the most fun weapon i ever used from its creation to complation every but was fun ...😌
my favorite is the Dispersion Pistol from the very first Unreal game(before it was called Unreal Tournament). It had 4 upgrades you found while playing the single player campaign and each one morphed the gun into a more powerful and cooler looking version. It hit super hard with the 4th upgrade.
But it's so slow (and the shots go even SLOWER as you upgrade it) you can only really use it on the Titan and the Skaarj Queen. Everyone else just dodges the shots.

Yeah that's to balance it because of it's other attributes not that skyrim is a balanced game by any means. but you can just craft way more powerful gear than anything you can find anyway which unfortunately just makes special items pretty redundant, and by extention makes exploration late game just boring and unrewarding
If I'm not mistaken, Serge's Sea Swallow (starting weapon) is upgraded to Mastermune if you beat Dario in Chrono Cross. Which is a crazy crit monster.

When you usually first get them, they have less damage than a common weapon and usually have no bonus stats. But if you have either: A) high end loot with good stats, or: B) Sacrificial amulets... You can upgrade Possessed weapons by feeding them your loot to make outpace every weapon around its level.
I personally save-scummed to make a powerful possessed weapon so good that it was able to compete with the Aftermath which is a secret super weapon you get for beating a 100 round gauntlet... which also hits the damage cap and crashes the game whenever I get a crit lol.
The first weapon that came to mind for me was RE4's one pistol that becomes super strong at max level lol

@@toshironikko no the pistol you start with it gets crazy crit rates at max level, pops heads like water balloons, but you end up dealing with alot of parasite heads, so its kinda a double edged sword.
Every one as you were going through, I was waiting to see the wooden sword from ninja gaiden. I played that game back in the day, it has to be one of my earliest titles. But my uncle showed me that and it just exemplified this list in my opinion. So happy it made it

Concerning the Ebony Blade, mercenaries can also count towards upgrading it. So all it really takes to upgrade that sword is a couple chests of gold and a lotta buckets of blood.
And with a maxed out conjuration skill, you can resurrect that mercenary again and again, rapidly beefing up your ebony blade without having to fetch new victims.

6:22 I could've sworn the varmint rifle uses 5.56 not .22 but then that if you do use the right perks and ammo types depending on the type of enemy it is really good I actually recommend it for a stealth build

I never once thought "mustang and Salley" were even remotely decent.
One of my favorites is the hand cannon on Resident Evil 5. You have to fully upgrade the first magnum you get all the way to even unlock the weapon but if you do and upgrade that weapon the only thing stronger then that is the rocket launcher. I loved it!
Aerondight from the Witcher games is a shout for this list. Basically unlimited upgrades if you use it enough, you never need another silver sword again once you have it.
The Robot's Left Hand from Enter the Gungeon.
How the game works is that every character starts with a weak gun with infinite ammunition. Every level has 2 guaranteed treasure chess and more can randomly spawn. You can open them to get better guns and helpful items, as long as you have keys. If you don't have keys, you can destroy chests, which might give some minor items or Junk.
The game has a special mode called Rainbow Run, which spawns a rainbow chest at the start of each level which several items to choose from. Regular chests still spawn in the levels. They will be empty if unlocked, but can still give Junk if destroyed.
The Robot's Left Hand is the best of the starting guns and it can be upgraded with Junk. Since the Robot's Left Hand can be upgraded to compete with guns from chests, you don't need to pick up guns from the rainbow chests and can instead pick passive items to upgrade the Robot's Left Hand even further and at the end of the game, it can become more powerful than many of the high end weapons.

In Skyrim there is a bug that U can exploit to make any weapon op as heck. You can use this bug to make a fork 1 shot a legendary dragon in legendary difficulty. plus this applies to armor as well making your character an absolute unit

I have to give a shoutout to Ichiban's starting Hero's Bat in Yakuza Like a Dragon. Literally pulls it out of the asphalt like Excalibur and unlocks the Hero job (class) and you can upgrade it over the course of the game unlike most weapons, keeping up with Ichiban's level all the way through the story

One of my favs: Dark Souls 2, Sanier's Spear. When the rock is still stuck to it, it's useless, slow but it has like 500 durability (A LOT), but when you break it, It becomes a fantastic spear with dualblade sword's moveset, also it has no durability, it's unbreakeable. Surely it's a tedius task to break the spear in the first place (since durability regenerates on bonefires), but you can...cheese it by hitting a corpse.
The volatile Hunter baton in dying light when you get to legend and start putting upgrades on one handed weapons add a couple king sockets. One hit kills and durable as hell
