The rail gun in red faction was soo fun playing with friends just hide in a cave you just built with a rocket launcher and and start looking around for heat signatures and blast away no auto lock tho!
Me and my friend used to spend hours just tunneling through walls with the rocket launcher trying to find places to clip out of the map. The destructability in that game was way ahead of its time, great memories.

The best way to avoid the blue shell is braking to make the person in second be in first and it will hit them instead. Pretty toxic avoidance but it is quite the effective tactic.
The most reliable strat I've used to counter them is intentionally hitting a banana. Bananas cause you to spin out so you keep some of your momentum instead of the complete stop from blue shells and you cant be hit by anything else during the spin out animation.
You missed a very overpowered weapon from Skyrim. The Windshear. It broke the game, it had 100% chance to stagger enemies, and you could swing it quickly. Basically trapping anyone you hit with it in a stagger loop because you could hit them again before they could recover. This included dragons. Any enemy you can think of the Windshear made the fights comical.
The only enemy I couldn't beat super easy with windshear was the ebony knight. He could stuff the sword effect. I had to fus roh day his ass off a cliff.
I did this with dual cast ice spike. Worked on just about everyone, from the humble mudcrab, to alduin himself. Nothin but cast stagger cast stagger cast stagger through the whole game.

Although the Fat Man is extremely powerful, the Mini Nukes are quite rare, making the weapon and ammo feel unique and valuable to you. I’ve always loved that about the Fallout games.
One of my favorite memories about the H2 energy sword back in the day is that when it came out everyone knew that if two players with energy swords swung them at each other at the same time they'd end up in a clash, neither dealing damage to the other. Initially, everyone used the energy sword like a gun and using the 'fire' button to lunge with it. I remember finding out early on that you could also use the 'melee' attack rather than the 'fire' attack. You'd swing the sword just as fast and do just as much damage but you wouldn't get the lunge. The upside though, is that it had a much faster recovery time so if you wound up in a dual with another energy sword user mashing lunge then you'd win 100% of the time.
The Cerebral Bore from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on N64. This gun fires an enemy seeking drill that chews into the skull of anyone you fire it at. It actually makes the enemies stop attacking and run when you fire it. Only other thing in the game to do that are the giant mounts with tank cannons.
i seem to remember the last weapon from the first turok was like a nuke too and it only had three shots in the whole game. you needed a game genie to really go mess with it
@@sheldonjplanktonn mimic got nerfed tho bruh. knight oleg has higher stats now and is technically the stronger summon but I guess it depends on preference at this point. Oleg is tankier but mimic should still be able to dish out more damage.
There was a glitch in Halo 2 with the sword and any gun that had a scope on it (worked best with the sniper rifle for obvious reasons). But essentially all you to do was zoom on someone then switch to your sword and since it had that rush lock feature it would launch you across the map What made the sword so redonk was it never lost power in multi-player you could get all your kills with it and if you knew how to exploit the rush lock glitch before bungie patched it you probably rose quickly in the leaderboards..
Honourable mention: Windshear from Skyrim. Stuns every hit. Makes it impossible for almost all enemies to ever hit you if its 1 on 1. Even though the damage is low, the ability is just insane.
Plasma cutter belongs on a list of starter weapons so effective that you can ignore every other, alongside gems like bioshocks wrench, half lifes gravity gun and the gravity/magnet/thing from fed faction armageddon.
The Golden Gun is also in 007: Nightfire which I played on for the GameCube. OP weapon for sure. I would also like to add that Oddjob's hat was also an OP weapon. Of course in the right hands. Given to an enemy with the highest difficulty, be prepared to get one shot halfway across of the map. All because of a hat xD
For SOTN, instead of the Christogram, the Shield Rod is lowkey the most overpowered weapon in the game, but it may not count because it is dependant on the shield you have. Even then, the Iron Shield you can get relatively early, and it basically will two shot bosses, but once you get the Alucard Shield, you are literally unkillable and melt every boss in the game in seconds.
PRL 412 from Resident Evil 4 would fit perfectly on this list, just charge it up for 2 seconds and it'll destroy all enemies and destructible objects in front of Leon with an infinite ammo pool!
there is also the infinite rocket launcher in new game+ “Besides having infinite uses, it functions identically to the regular Rocket Launcher, but the speed in which it can be fired is quicker.”
Something I want to add for the fatman weapon for fallout 4: if you complete the treasure hunt quest for Sierra in Nuka world you can get access to fatman mini nukes fuses with Nuka cola and it increases the damage drastically and you can equip it to the Big Boy variant
So glad to see Perfect Dark listed here! It’s rare to see it mentioned anywhere, see what I did there? We spent countless hours battling each other with the far-sight and other weapons. Favorite map is still Complex!
I also would like to add (to the list) is the shotgun from F.E.A.R., pretty much the only other super shotgun in video games (that I could think of) that would make the doomguy lick his lips with anticipation. This shotgun will literally turn replica soldiers into clouds of blood INSTANTLY. Combine that with bullet-time and you've got yourself another OP weapon that changes everything.
I haven't seen the video nor read any of the comments but I take it that OP is considered bad? And a lot of people want too powerful things nerfed? ... and I'm like... no. If you don't like it because it's too powerful then don't use it. Don't ruin it for the rest of us who do want powerful things because we want to feel like gods, or want to make the game easier.

@@cashewnuttel9054 In competetive multiplayer, very few people want weapons to be OP, since human player is on the receiving end. For example in Elden Ring it's a good thing there isn't in-game chat: otherwise you'd get yelled so much that your ears bleed everytime you have rivers of blood equipped. Seriously, no one wants to be in business end of that one.
A couple that were missed on this list. I was going to add the BFG but it got an honorable mention. I am however going to add 2 to this list. The Buzzsaw from farcry4 and the unicorn gun from red faction: Armageddon
Some more notes about the energy sword: 1. It's lunge range was as far as a shotgun's effective range (and the shotgun was really weak in this game anyways) meaning it was not only the best but only viable short range weapon. 2. The sword flying glitch meant you could fly across the map, making it the most useful speedrunning tool. 3. If you are too close to lunge at an enemy your attack is a lot weaker but you can also swing it a lot faster compared to other iterations of the energy sword. And again, the shotgun and pistol are already really weak in this game, plus no gravity hammer yet, so it almost doesn't matter
Also, something Falcon missed about #3 the Plasma Cutter, is that you get a gold trophy for beating Dead Space using ONLY the Plasma Cutter. I think in Dead Space 2, it lights enemies on fire, which is AWESOME!!!!
May I recommend vex mythoclast from destiny 2, at least during season 14 and 15... That thing would do anything and everything, anywhere and for free, the damage that it did while having a mode for every engagement while using only primary ammo was wild

You forgot my favorite one. The FPS Doom Clones Blood and Blood II: The Chosen have an annoying one called the Voodoo Doll. And it is exactly what it sounds like. The only form of balance on this is that you have to pick up more Voodoo Dolls to recharge it. Point it as a victim and stick a needle in it...and the victim takes damage. If you use all of it's power in one go you can instakill any enemy. It's range is unlimited, with the needles it does heavy damage and it completely ignores armor. It is a terrible weapon for your opponent to have in PVP.
The staff of oblivion from the very underrated RPG Nox, basically you crafted it from parts you collected as part of that games plot and when fully assembled fired a huge continuous beam of energy (Think the Proton pack from Ghostbusters) that obliterated every enemy near instantly except the Final boss but was still required to defeat with, soo much so that the final part of the game was just melting down a small army of the toughest enemies in that game before moving onto the final boss itself.
yes. getting the staff of oblivion was an epic moment in my video game history. from time to time I still want to play Nox just to experience that power again.
When raiding the Prydwen I always pull out the Fat Man and take out Elder Maxson with it. Clears that whole room and you’re JUST far enough away to not die. Plus it’s hilarious
You can break the blue shell with green, red and maybe a banana peel. You have to throw it at the perfect time, to early you miss, to late and you’re already hit
11:28 I also loved how the first game has the achievement of beating the game only with the plasma cutter. I randomly checked that list a little bit in my playthrough for no real reason. Then I saw that, and realized I only used it up to that point. And forced myself to go through it. Was a challenge for me, but it was so satisfying 🙌❤️

And yeah, that shit still felt great in the end, and didn't feel like a major crutch 🙌 I thought it would be boiled down to "forcing myself to struggle with the starting weapon 101" 🤣
Electroshock gun from HalfLife. Drains health very quickly, is very accurate and ammo lasts for quite long. Not very useful in Singleplayer (due to limited ammo), but on MP maps that had this weapon it was OP. You could just run around the location it was spawning in well timed circles and that's it. Only good counters were rocket launcher (where you had to chose if target the shooter or the missile) and shotgut on _very_ short range.
I just want to say that Ancient Arrows from BOTW. I mean it makes any enemy disappear into thin air and on any guardian tech it destroys. So I'd say pretty overpowered. But also super helpful
Prenerf black hammer from destiny 1 was pretty good. Legendary so you could still equip an exotic, literal unlimited ammo, highest impact sniper rifle, AND in the energy slot too
I remember zooming in with the sniper rifle in halo 2, then swapping to sword and hitting trigger nearly simultaneously and it would shoot you across the map at your target. Rarely ever got it right, but when it did, it was amazing
Prince of Persia dagger of time is one of my favourite op weapon. it is the best weapon the prince has in sands of time. BFG from doom, korek machete from dying light(maybe) and many others to count. Great video.👍
The ring of light from Final Fantasy XV fits on this list well. It one shots groups of most enemies and some bosses. If I remember correctly, it even one shot the secret mountain boss which is pretty wild.
I love how we started of with the Fat Man as #10! Lol. Also surprised you guys didn't put the ray gun from CoD on here either. My personal favorite over-powered weapon was probably the dual wield miniguns from TimeSplitters. That's right! You didn't read wrong! And they shred exactly how you think they would. Absolutely ridiculous, but it fit the theme of the game. Same people who actually made Perfect Dark and Golden Eye too.
The Overseer’s Guardian is a really good assault rifle in FO4. I legitimately used that gun through the rest of my playthrough after I bought it in Vault 84.
Blue shell I should say is an interesting one. Me and my buddies would always slam on the breaks the instant we saw a blue shell was being held in 7. We were ready to let someone else take that. Also if you are a timing god, you can use a mushroom last second to dodge it. Or better yet, we'd literally hoard Bullet Bills and Stars in case someone rolled a blue shell or lightning. 7 was a fun one. Unfortunately my 3ds's buttons stopped working good, so it's been a very long time since I got to play it. I don't like 8 as much but same principles apply (plus the direct counter in boombox).
mini nukes are unlimited in Fo3 too, theyre RNG in weapon shops so after you find the ones just siting in the world, you can still buy them now and then. Also the MIRV is in Fo3 which uses 7x mini nukes pershot. NV would repurpose this in with a special round that only uses 1 and splits into many, and 1 thats bigger but doesnt go as far.
Say what you want about river of blood but it’s so so so satisfying, the weapon art is just so crisp and feels good to use if nothing else, lovely for busting through the game if you’re bored
I have fond memories of using the Farsight in multiplayer games with my brother and killing him, and we were on the same team against bots. So he started using the alien model due to it being shorter so it would obviously stand out so I wouldn't kill him anymore thinking he was a bot.
The Cain from ME2 was super overpowered... it was like carrying around a giant "I win" card whenever you wanted. As long as you had one then every scripted "tough fight" was taken care of in one shot. Unless you were playing on the hardest difficulty then it'd one shot anything excpet the humanoid reaper at the end.
Isn't the Reaper Blackstar from ME3 more powerful? I remember using it once clearing the entire room in the fight on the derelict Reaper I think it was (the one with 3 waves).
@@rushpan93 The derelict Reaper was in ME2. Aside from that you only got that gun 2 or 3 times in the game and it had one shot. Handy yes, but not game altering. The Cain could be used on almost every mission and it could one shot almost everything. Remember the mission in ME2 where u had to stop the 3 heavy mechs from destroying the cargo scattered around? With one shot from the Cain that mission is over in under 10 seconds with all 20 cargo in tact lol. Sounds overpowered to me.
You can actually dodge the blue shell, at least it worked for me on Mario Kart Wii. If you have a red mushroom, and time it perfectly at the moment when it pauses temporarily before it slams down on the player, if you boost using the red or gold mushroom (most likely red being in first) you can dodge it completely. SOMETIMES ITS BETTER TO SAVE THE MUSRHOOM THAN THE GREEN SHELL IN FIRST PLACE, only sometimes at least

Oh you can definitely still use a mushroom to dodge it. It just comes down to timing and I guess skill to know when to use the boost. I did it once in the many hours of play I have in MK8 on the Switch lol that 1 time I felt so badass
Jak 3 had a weapon like R & C that was a similar bike type weapon that just ended all enemies in the area. Can’t remember what it was called but it was attached to the peacemaker
Another honorable mention would be the cerebral bore from turok. It may not be a room clearer, or super quick, but the thought of a gun that seeks out skulls to bore into em? Worth a mention lmao
The RCP-120 is a hard counter for the Farsight in Perfect Dark. It's secondary mode makes you invisible to scope and the at close range its mauls farsight users. I punished many a player doing this.
It was pretty easy to dodge anyone using the Farsight, particularly when you could watch them aim (slowly) at you and just dodge as you approached them. That x-ray turned into a homing beacon for everyone on a split screen.
Yeah, on MW2 they had the brilliant idea of banning QA from using exploits during company playtests. Developers were of course allowed to use them to their heart's content, and if QA submitted a bug report for one of these exploits (like the akimbo 1887s) rather than fixing it, the lead MP designer simply told QA to "git gud nubs" and stop whining. So yes, it's no surprise this strategy landed MW2 on this list.
He also forgot that in MW2 scavengers works on grenade launchers and the default class was a famas with the grenade launchers and scavenger. You didn't even need to grind to start spaming this shit. MW2 is the reason why explosives are nerfed for multiplayer in every other COD

I think a weapon I can mention that no one else might, is the X-3000 from Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project. It literally wipes the screen from every enemy and its infinite ammo. Also as an added bonus that I just read about, if you hold the attack button when the level loads it supposedly kills all enemies on the level. You only get it if you get all the collectibles on hard difficulty, but in terms of being overpowered, you cant really be stronger than this.
I loved ff7's "Ultima Sword" for Cloud. *Hit 9999's* HP w/ Normal attack every time. The sword was so O.P. I had pretty much got bored because no enemies were a challenge anymore. Talk about Overkill.
The vehicles from the Borderlands series always seemed Op to me. Vehicular damage seems to scale with your character, so unless an enemy is much higher level than you, even so much as a gentle love tap from your car and they explode in a shower of gooey blood and guts.
They scale down HARD when you start to rise in difficulty level . As example, in last BL game (BL3) Mayhem 10-11 makes cars almost useless damage whise.
Can't believe the Gjallarhorn wasn't on the list. Sure there was an abundance of op weapons in D1, pre nerf Vex Mythoclast, pre nerf Thorn, Ice Breaker, Fatebringer, original Hung Jury and one i never see mentioned much which was the Pocket Infinity. But overall the Gjallarhorn was just above and beyond the rest, imo the only one close to it's overall game impact would be the ice breaker just because you could solo nightfalls and parts of each raid with the ice breaker but the gjally could 1 phase aethon, 1 phase crota, 1 phase any strike boss and 1 phase skolov on solar week in the prison of elders...i remember going to the destiny group finder page and half of the entrys would read "must have gally" 😅
I can’t believe you used the Halo 2 sword over the scarab gun you can get by glitching yourself on top of a skyscraper in the second city level. Literally the coolest secret I ever found in a halo game.
As a honorable mention I would have added the smart pistol from titanfall 2. These people at respawn had the great idea of making a weapon that you don't have to aim with and then implemented the same idea when making the smart core for the legion titan.
Not to mention, the smart pistol is supposed to be only able to target in front of you in 45 degrees but instead actually also easily targets enemies 180 degrees behind you.
"The One Gun" achievement in the original Dead Space just proves how overpowered and resourceful the Plasma Cutter is. The developers actively challenged anybody who has the game to play through the entire game with absolutely no other weapon but that the Plasma Cutter, no matter how powerful it is.
I remember the very first time I played Dead Space I got the achievement without even knowing it was a thing just because the plasma cutter was such a good weapon and power nodes were limited that I never felt a need to buy anything else.
I focused on a dexterity build from the start inspired by Sekiro. I started out dual weilding the ucgikatana and I didn't know about the Rivers of blood just kinda stumbled on it. But man after maxing it by Hewg and combining it with Seppuku and the lord of blood talisman it was like i was dominating them to the point where i felt over leveled but checking the level recommendation for certain bosses would reveal that i m actually 20-25 levels lower! i mean I beat Melania in like 3 attempts, I beat Mohg Lord of blood, Godfrey/Horrah Loux and Maliketh in the first attempt! only the elden beast became a pain in my ass because of its slithering around.
Same here!, i also stumbled upon RoB by accident and wanted a bleed build and that sword really just melts through bosses. I alos beat malenia on the 3rd try,godfrey(horah loux) on 1st and maliketh on 4th.
I have some things to say about the Blue Shell. Whenever you guys mention them you act like they were absolutely unavoidable catastrophes. There are a couple situations where you can escape. If you spot it coming you and you’re lucky you can aim to be in the air when you would be hit causing a miss. I also remember you could drift and boost out (even better with a floor boost) and sometimes manage to cause a miss. Another option if all else was lost was to spread the pain by making sure as many other racers as possible get caught in the blast. 😊
Newer versions don't allow you to drift boost to dodge it. You can throw a banana in your own way and hit it at the same time to suffer the lesser consequence though, or you can use the boombox when the blue shell's right on you.
#1 reminds me of the Rail Gun from Red Faction 2. It didn't have an auto lock but you could see through and shoot through walls. Made it hella fun when playing split screen. Mainly because if the other person did try to look at your screen to try to find you, they would only see through the scope. It turned into a hide and seek game. Find the railgun user before he snipes you lol.
like the gun from perfect dark, in farcry 6, the Triadore supremo with the La Varita rifle is game breaking. it lets you see and shoot through walls, you can clear entire outposts without even stepping foot inside or coming into contact with an enemy
Oh haha, I'm playing FC6 atm after getting it on sale but not that far in so have not found that yet, silencers have not lost thier power I see though, since FC3 slapping a silencer on any long range weapon basically made it game over for outposts if there was a good vantage point nearby.
Number 1 reminds me of the Rail Gun in the old Red Faction games. Just no auto targeting. If you found that gun in multiplayer and some ammo the. You just needed to dig a tunnel somewhere with grenades or whatever (destructible environment) and could snipe anyone from anywhere if you were a decent shot. Homing Rocket Launcher in Unreal Tournament 2 iirc was pretty OP as well.
An OP weapon I remember getting was from RE4 called the Typewriter(Almost positive that's the name). It was a weapon you get after beating the game a few times and it makes every enemy, including bosses, a complete joke. It kills everything within a few bullets and makes the game extremely easy but made me feel like a badass knowing nothing can stand in my way!!!
Three Honorable Mentions I would add -- 1) The Original, Pre-Nerfed Vex Mythoclast from Destiny 1 2) Gjallarhorn from Destiny 1 -- When Xur finally sold it, the AP newswire actually ran a story about it. 3) Mr. Toots from Red Faction: Armageddon. Mr. Toots was not especially overpowered, but oh dear deity-of-your-choice was it hilariously fun to shoot. Mr. Toots was a My Little Pony unicorn who sat on your forearm. When you fired, you lifted up his tail, and he farted massively destructive stars and rainbows everywhere. Seriously, search TH-cam for some footage.
Oh man I miss Perfect Dark! Easily my favorite N64 game! My buddy and I could spend hours on that. Occasionally we would let my daughter play with us, but the wife insisted that we switch to paintball mode when she was playing 🙄
@gameranx In X-Com Enemy Unknown, there's this weapon, the Ethereals bring it into the game, once you researched it and use it, you can set out the path the bullet has to follow in 10 steps (going left, right, up, down, back, no matter how in 10 steps it follows that path) it's an amazingly op weapon :D
The demon katana from Morrowind is incredibly op. The Lavantor from Shining Force 2, the sword of light From Shining Force 2 if you can get it, the Redeemer from Unreal Tournament. The Soul Dragon Great sword from Fable 1, Diablo 2 has so many as well. There can be several more videos like this one.

This is true, but with all respect, the person in 1st doesn’t really get the best of luck with getting a mushroom to avoid it.
And if you cant get a clean pass, you can try to make the explosion hit them as well

One of my favorite memories about the H2 energy sword back in the day is that when it came out everyone knew that if two players with energy swords swung them at each other at the same time they'd end up in a clash, neither dealing damage to the other. Initially, everyone used the energy sword like a gun and using the 'fire' button to lunge with it. I remember finding out early on that you could also use the 'melee' attack rather than the 'fire' attack. You'd swing the sword just as fast and do just as much damage but you wouldn't get the lunge. The upside though, is that it had a much faster recovery time so if you wound up in a dual with another energy sword user mashing lunge then you'd win 100% of the time.
And it's your key to glitching 🤫
That is, until you clash and they back up so you miss your melee and they lunge again.

The Cerebral Bore from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on N64.
This gun fires an enemy seeking drill that chews into the skull of anyone you fire it at. It actually makes the enemies stop attacking and run when you fire it. Only other thing in the game to do that are the giant mounts with tank cannons.

There was a glitch in Halo 2 with the sword and any gun that had a scope on it (worked best with the sniper rifle for obvious reasons). But essentially all you to do was zoom on someone then switch to your sword and since it had that rush lock feature it would launch you across the map
What made the sword so redonk was it never lost power in multi-player you could get all your kills with it and if you knew how to exploit the rush lock glitch before bungie patched it you probably rose quickly in the leaderboards..

Honourable mention: Windshear from Skyrim. Stuns every hit. Makes it impossible for almost all enemies to ever hit you if its 1 on 1. Even though the damage is low, the ability is just insane.
Plasma cutter belongs on a list of starter weapons so effective that you can ignore every other, alongside gems like bioshocks wrench, half lifes gravity gun and the gravity/magnet/thing from fed faction armageddon.
Its very effective... but I hesitate to call it overpowered. Especially when the line gun and foam finger exist.
The Golden Gun is also in 007: Nightfire which I played on for the GameCube. OP weapon for sure.
I would also like to add that Oddjob's hat was also an OP weapon. Of course in the right hands. Given to an enemy with the highest difficulty, be prepared to get one shot halfway across of the map. All because of a hat xD
For SOTN, instead of the Christogram, the Shield Rod is lowkey the most overpowered weapon in the game, but it may not count because it is dependant on the shield you have. Even then, the Iron Shield you can get relatively early, and it basically will two shot bosses, but once you get the Alucard Shield, you are literally unkillable and melt every boss in the game in seconds.

PRL 412 from Resident Evil 4 would fit perfectly on this list, just charge it up for 2 seconds and it'll destroy all enemies and destructible objects in front of Leon with an infinite ammo pool!
there is also the infinite rocket launcher in new game+ “Besides having infinite uses, it functions identically to the regular Rocket Launcher, but the speed in which it can be fired is quicker.”

Something I want to add for the fatman weapon for fallout 4: if you complete the treasure hunt quest for Sierra in Nuka world you can get access to fatman mini nukes fuses with Nuka cola and it increases the damage drastically and you can equip it to the Big Boy variant

The infinite rocket launcher from the Resident Evil series is pretty damn OP.
So glad to see Perfect Dark listed here! It’s rare to see it mentioned anywhere, see what I did there? We spent countless hours battling each other with the far-sight and other weapons. Favorite map is still Complex!
I also would like to add (to the list) is the shotgun from F.E.A.R., pretty much the only other super shotgun in video games (that I could think of) that would make the doomguy lick his lips with anticipation. This shotgun will literally turn replica soldiers into clouds of blood INSTANTLY. Combine that with bullet-time and you've got yourself another OP weapon that changes everything.

Some more notes about the energy sword: 1. It's lunge range was as far as a shotgun's effective range (and the shotgun was really weak in this game anyways) meaning it was not only the best but only viable short range weapon. 2. The sword flying glitch meant you could fly across the map, making it the most useful speedrunning tool. 3. If you are too close to lunge at an enemy your attack is a lot weaker but you can also swing it a lot faster compared to other iterations of the energy sword. And again, the shotgun and pistol are already really weak in this game, plus no gravity hammer yet, so it almost doesn't matter

Yeah this video is wrong- Ryno 2 was way stronger then the Ry3no, which didn't even damage bosses when upgraded.
Also, something Falcon missed about #3 the Plasma Cutter, is that you get a gold trophy for beating Dead Space using ONLY the Plasma Cutter.
I think in Dead Space 2, it lights enemies on fire, which is AWESOME!!!!
May I recommend vex mythoclast from destiny 2, at least during season 14 and 15... That thing would do anything and everything, anywhere and for free, the damage that it did while having a mode for every engagement while using only primary ammo was wild

The Zenith from Terraria should definitely make this list. It allows you to mow down multiple bosses at once without breaking a sweat

You forgot my favorite one. The FPS Doom Clones Blood and Blood II: The Chosen have an annoying one called the Voodoo Doll. And it is exactly what it sounds like. The only form of balance on this is that you have to pick up more Voodoo Dolls to recharge it. Point it as a victim and stick a needle in it...and the victim takes damage. If you use all of it's power in one go you can instakill any enemy. It's range is unlimited, with the needles it does heavy damage and it completely ignores armor.
It is a terrible weapon for your opponent to have in PVP.
The staff of oblivion from the very underrated RPG Nox, basically you crafted it from parts you collected as part of that games plot and when fully assembled fired a huge continuous beam of energy (Think the Proton pack from Ghostbusters) that obliterated every enemy near instantly except the Final boss but was still required to defeat with, soo much so that the final part of the game was just melting down a small army of the toughest enemies in that game before moving onto the final boss itself.
yes. getting the staff of oblivion was an epic moment in my video game history. from time to time I still want to play Nox just to experience that power again.

When raiding the Prydwen I always pull out the Fat Man and take out Elder Maxson with it. Clears that whole room and you’re JUST far enough away to not die. Plus it’s hilarious
You can break the blue shell with green, red and maybe a banana peel.
You have to throw it at the perfect time, to early you miss, to late and you’re already hit
If you time it right, you can also counter using the the super horn.
Or just ride with a banana peel behind you whole tims just hold it

11:28 I also loved how the first game has the achievement of beating the game only with the plasma cutter. I randomly checked that list a little bit in my playthrough for no real reason. Then I saw that, and realized I only used it up to that point. And forced myself to go through it. Was a challenge for me, but it was so satisfying 🙌❤️
plasma cutter can get dumb strong too I mainly used it a lot because it was clean and simple

The plasma cutter is legitimately the best weapon in the game once fully upgraded.
Electroshock gun from HalfLife. Drains health very quickly, is very accurate and ammo lasts for quite long. Not very useful in Singleplayer (due to limited ammo), but on MP maps that had this weapon it was OP. You could just run around the location it was spawning in well timed circles and that's it. Only good counters were rocket launcher (where you had to chose if target the shooter or the missile) and shotgut on _very_ short range.
I just want to say that Ancient Arrows from BOTW. I mean it makes any enemy disappear into thin air and on any guardian tech it destroys. So I'd say pretty overpowered. But also super helpful
Prenerf black hammer from destiny 1 was pretty good. Legendary so you could still equip an exotic, literal unlimited ammo, highest impact sniper rifle, AND in the energy slot too

I remember zooming in with the sniper rifle in halo 2, then swapping to sword and hitting trigger nearly simultaneously and it would shoot you across the map at your target. Rarely ever got it right, but when it did, it was amazing

Prince of Persia dagger of time is one of my favourite op weapon. it is the best weapon the prince has in sands of time. BFG from doom, korek machete from dying light(maybe) and many others to count. Great video.👍

The ring of light from Final Fantasy XV fits on this list well. It one shots groups of most enemies and some bosses. If I remember correctly, it even one shot the secret mountain boss which is pretty wild.

My personal favorite over-powered weapon was probably the dual wield miniguns from TimeSplitters. That's right! You didn't read wrong! And they shred exactly how you think they would. Absolutely ridiculous, but it fit the theme of the game. Same people who actually made Perfect Dark and Golden Eye too.

The Overseer’s Guardian is a really good assault rifle in FO4. I legitimately used that gun through the rest of my playthrough after I bought it in Vault 84.

Blue shell I should say is an interesting one. Me and my buddies would always slam on the breaks the instant we saw a blue shell was being held in 7. We were ready to let someone else take that.
Also if you are a timing god, you can use a mushroom last second to dodge it. Or better yet, we'd literally hoard Bullet Bills and Stars in case someone rolled a blue shell or lightning.
7 was a fun one. Unfortunately my 3ds's buttons stopped working good, so it's been a very long time since I got to play it. I don't like 8 as much but same principles apply (plus the direct counter in boombox).
mini nukes are unlimited in Fo3 too, theyre RNG in weapon shops so after you find the ones just siting in the world, you can still buy them now and then.
Also the MIRV is in Fo3 which uses 7x mini nukes pershot. NV would repurpose this in with a special round that only uses 1 and splits into many, and 1 thats bigger but doesnt go as far.

I have fond memories of using the Farsight in multiplayer games with my brother and killing him, and we were on the same team against bots. So he started using the alien model due to it being shorter so it would obviously stand out so I wouldn't kill him anymore thinking he was a bot.
The Cain from ME2 was super overpowered... it was like carrying around a giant "I win" card whenever you wanted. As long as you had one then every scripted "tough fight" was taken care of in one shot. Unless you were playing on the hardest difficulty then it'd one shot anything excpet the humanoid reaper at the end.
Isn't the Reaper Blackstar from ME3 more powerful? I remember using it once clearing the entire room in the fight on the derelict Reaper I think it was (the one with 3 waves).
@@rushpan93 The derelict Reaper was in ME2. Aside from that you only got that gun 2 or 3 times in the game and it had one shot. Handy yes, but not game altering. The Cain could be used on almost every mission and it could one shot almost everything. Remember the mission in ME2 where u had to stop the 3 heavy mechs from destroying the cargo scattered around? With one shot from the Cain that mission is over in under 10 seconds with all 20 cargo in tact lol. Sounds overpowered to me.
the gravity gun from half life was pretty over powered too.

You can actually dodge the blue shell, at least it worked for me on Mario Kart Wii. If you have a red mushroom, and time it perfectly at the moment when it pauses temporarily before it slams down on the player, if you boost using the red or gold mushroom (most likely red being in first) you can dodge it completely. SOMETIMES ITS BETTER TO SAVE THE MUSRHOOM THAN THE GREEN SHELL IN FIRST PLACE, only sometimes at least

You can also use a bomb. If you throw it backward right when the blue shell is behind you it knocks it out. Has worked multiple times with me.
I'm surprised no one knows about this, but you can use the red thing that hits everything around you, that actually destroys the blue shell
Jak 3 had a weapon like R & C that was a similar bike type weapon that just ended all enemies in the area. Can’t remember what it was called but it was attached to the peacemaker

The RCP-120 is a hard counter for the Farsight in Perfect Dark. It's secondary mode makes you invisible to scope and the at close range its mauls farsight users. I punished many a player doing this.

It was pretty easy to dodge anyone using the Farsight, particularly when you could watch them aim (slowly) at you and just dodge as you approached them. That x-ray turned into a homing beacon for everyone on a split screen.
Yeah, on MW2 they had the brilliant idea of banning QA from using exploits during company playtests. Developers were of course allowed to use them to their heart's content, and if QA submitted a bug report for one of these exploits (like the akimbo 1887s) rather than fixing it, the lead MP designer simply told QA to "git gud nubs" and stop whining.
So yes, it's no surprise this strategy landed MW2 on this list.
He also forgot that in MW2 scavengers works on grenade launchers and the default class was a famas with the grenade launchers and scavenger. You didn't even need to grind to start spaming this shit. MW2 is the reason why explosives are nerfed for multiplayer in every other COD

I think a weapon I can mention that no one else might, is the X-3000 from Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project. It literally wipes the screen from every enemy and its infinite ammo. Also as an added bonus that I just read about, if you hold the attack button when the level loads it supposedly kills all enemies on the level. You only get it if you get all the collectibles on hard difficulty, but in terms of being overpowered, you cant really be stronger than this.
I loved ff7's "Ultima Sword" for Cloud. *Hit 9999's* HP w/ Normal attack every time. The sword was so O.P. I had pretty much got bored because no enemies were a challenge anymore. Talk about Overkill.
Downside is you have to have full HP to get max damage
The vehicles from the Borderlands series always seemed Op to me. Vehicular damage seems to scale with your character, so unless an enemy is much higher level than you, even so much as a gentle love tap from your car and they explode in a shower of gooey blood and guts.

They scale down HARD when you start to rise in difficulty level . As example, in last BL game (BL3) Mayhem 10-11 makes cars almost useless damage whise.

Can't believe the Gjallarhorn wasn't on the list. Sure there was an abundance of op weapons in D1, pre nerf Vex Mythoclast, pre nerf Thorn, Ice Breaker, Fatebringer, original Hung Jury and one i never see mentioned much which was the Pocket Infinity. But overall the Gjallarhorn was just above and beyond the rest, imo the only one close to it's overall game impact would be the ice breaker just because you could solo nightfalls and parts of each raid with the ice breaker but the gjally could 1 phase aethon, 1 phase crota, 1 phase any strike boss and 1 phase skolov on solar week in the prison of elders...i remember going to the destiny group finder page and half of the entrys would read "must have gally" 😅

I can’t believe you used the Halo 2 sword over the scarab gun you can get by glitching yourself on top of a skyscraper in the second city level. Literally the coolest secret I ever found in a halo game.

As a honorable mention I would have added the smart pistol from titanfall 2. These people at respawn had the great idea of making a weapon that you don't have to aim with and then implemented the same idea when making the smart core for the legion titan.
Not to mention, the smart pistol is supposed to be only able to target in front of you in 45 degrees but instead actually also easily targets enemies 180 degrees behind you.
"The One Gun" achievement in the original Dead Space just proves how overpowered and resourceful the Plasma Cutter is. The developers actively challenged anybody who has the game to play through the entire game with absolutely no other weapon but that the Plasma Cutter, no matter how powerful it is.
I remember the very first time I played Dead Space I got the achievement without even knowing it was a thing just because the plasma cutter was such a good weapon and power nodes were limited that I never felt a need to buy anything else.
They had a very similar gun (as the far sight) in the first Red Faction too. I remember loving that thing.
Was pure pain in the campaign when enemies started using it though xD

I focused on a dexterity build from the start inspired by Sekiro. I started out dual weilding the ucgikatana and I didn't know about the Rivers of blood just kinda stumbled on it. But man after maxing it by Hewg and combining it with Seppuku and the lord of blood talisman it was like i was dominating them to the point where i felt over leveled but checking the level recommendation for certain bosses would reveal that i m actually 20-25 levels lower! i mean I beat Melania in like 3 attempts, I beat Mohg Lord of blood, Godfrey/Horrah Loux and Maliketh in the first attempt! only the elden beast became a pain in my ass because of its slithering around.

I have some things to say about the Blue Shell. Whenever you guys mention them you act like they were absolutely unavoidable catastrophes. There are a couple situations where you can escape. If you spot it coming you and you’re lucky you can aim to be in the air when you would be hit causing a miss. I also remember you could drift and boost out (even better with a floor boost) and sometimes manage to cause a miss. Another option if all else was lost was to spread the pain by making sure as many other racers as possible get caught in the blast. 😊
Newer versions don't allow you to drift boost to dodge it. You can throw a banana in your own way and hit it at the same time to suffer the lesser consequence though, or you can use the boombox when the blue shell's right on you.

#1 reminds me of the Rail Gun from Red Faction 2. It didn't have an auto lock but you could see through and shoot through walls. Made it hella fun when playing split screen. Mainly because if the other person did try to look at your screen to try to find you, they would only see through the scope. It turned into a hide and seek game. Find the railgun user before he snipes you lol.
like the gun from perfect dark, in farcry 6, the Triadore supremo with the La Varita rifle is game breaking. it lets you see and shoot through walls, you can clear entire outposts without even stepping foot inside or coming into contact with an enemy
Oh haha, I'm playing FC6 atm after getting it on sale but not that far in so have not found that yet, silencers have not lost thier power I see though, since FC3 slapping a silencer on any long range weapon basically made it game over for outposts if there was a good vantage point nearby.
Gjallarhorn from the destiny series is definitely worthy,, but still a solid list

Number 1 reminds me of the Rail Gun in the old Red Faction games. Just no auto targeting. If you found that gun in multiplayer and some ammo the. You just needed to dig a tunnel somewhere with grenades or whatever (destructible environment) and could snipe anyone from anywhere if you were a decent shot.
Homing Rocket Launcher in Unreal Tournament 2 iirc was pretty OP as well.

You nailed it! Gears had some exceptionally satisfying weapons.
An OP weapon I remember getting was from RE4 called the Typewriter(Almost positive that's the name). It was a weapon you get after beating the game a few times and it makes every enemy, including bosses, a complete joke. It kills everything within a few bullets and makes the game extremely easy but made me feel like a badass knowing nothing can stand in my way!!!
It kills everything with one bullet if I remember. And I got from from beating the Ada side story.

What about the gjalahorn from destiny, people used to be excluded from raid groups if u didn’t have one
Thas mostly cuz kids sucked and thought ghally changed it all but you could opt for a sniper 90%, of the time or use a rocket with the cluster effect.
Three Honorable Mentions I would add --
1) The Original, Pre-Nerfed Vex Mythoclast from Destiny 1
2) Gjallarhorn from Destiny 1 -- When Xur finally sold it, the AP newswire actually ran a story about it.
3) Mr. Toots from Red Faction: Armageddon. Mr. Toots was not especially overpowered, but oh dear deity-of-your-choice was it hilariously fun to shoot. Mr. Toots was a My Little Pony unicorn who sat on your forearm. When you fired, you lifted up his tail, and he farted massively destructive stars and rainbows everywhere. Seriously, search TH-cam for some footage.
These definetly deserved a mention, at least Gjallarhorn since its so iconic and op in all destiny

Oh man I miss Perfect Dark! Easily my favorite N64 game! My buddy and I could spend hours on that. Occasionally we would let my daughter play with us, but the wife insisted that we switch to paintball mode when she was playing 🙄

@gameranx In X-Com Enemy Unknown, there's this weapon, the Ethereals bring it into the game, once you researched it and use it, you can set out the path the bullet has to follow in 10 steps (going left, right, up, down, back, no matter how in 10 steps it follows that path) it's an amazingly op weapon :D
The demon katana from Morrowind is incredibly op. The Lavantor from Shining Force 2, the sword of light From Shining Force 2 if you can get it, the Redeemer from Unreal Tournament. The Soul Dragon Great sword from Fable 1, Diablo 2 has so many as well. There can be several more videos like this one.
